On-site SEO:
From my own analysis Udacity needs to do few changes in view-source section.
They need to mention an unique and eye catching meta description, so that people can get a
brief idea about the page by looking at the search results itself. A good meta description will
thus attract more people to the page. And will also enhance the page rank.
Changes in Alt-Tag section ,right now there is only images are available , so they need to add
unique and short text description. Basically a piece of text describes the pictures and videos
and that would be shown to the users in the event a picture and videos file did not upload.
When images and videos on web page have well defined code, then they are displayed in
the relevant search results as well, which would otherwise not be displayed if the code is
missing as the images and videos won’t be properly indexed.
Off-Site SEO:
Udacity needs to focus on linking with other high quality and credible websites to improve their
ranking
26. Performance testing:
From my own analysis Udacity needs to add index pages, as it is important to
index the page on Google, knowing the number of page that are indexed is
important for SEO performance, this number will help to better understand the
number of your site pages that are in the search engine index and that are eligible
to earn traffic.
As far as the problem with page speed goes, Udacity needs to fix all those
problems which is causing slow page speed at present , and that is negatively
affecting the user experience. As it is important to do possible optimization like
“optimize images”, enable compression , minify Javascript and etc. After fixing all
these problems it helps to improve the page speed as well as the user experience
for mobile.
If Udacity does all these changes, it will definitely improve the page rank.
