How to best prepare your presentation
Why powerpoint?
Power of POINTS!
Powerpoint is a good program to use for a presentation because it allows the
listeners to have a visual of the subjects the speaker is talking about.
It also gives the speaker a reference point for the subjects that
make up the majority of the presentation.

Professional Presentation
Why give a Presentation?
Three Main Purposes
1. Inform
2. Persuade
3. Educate
Peter Masucci, 2007, University of New Hampshire, ‘Effective Presentations’
The Objective
Begin with the CLEAR objective(s)
Who – Who is the last person?
What – What is the action they should take?
Why – Why will they take this action? What is in it for
them?
