Black Friday Ethical Issues
Thanksgiving is celebrated the third Thursday in the month of November. The following day is called
Black Friday, during this event stores and companies dramatically reduce the price of their items. The
consumer that is brave enough to face crowds and long lines might save enough money on purchases
to make getting up early worth it. The gun industry and accessories broke record sales during this last
Black Friday event (Smith, 2017). Alien Gear is one of the newest companies to emerge in the conceal
carry holster industry. In following pages the Alien Gear background will be discussed, explore the
market strategy, examine social and ethical issues, and describe the strategy addressing these
concerns.
Background
When it comes to concealed carry holster options in the past there were only a few companies out
there. In 2013, Thomas Tedder entered the conceal holster industry with his company Alien Gear (
About Alien Gear Holster , n.d.). Alien Gear first design was the Cloak Tuck and since then ... Show

Equally important, they can require the customer to input their conceal carry permit number into their
check out procedures. This step would require the company to check with the customer s state before
mailing out the holster. State officials with stricter conceal carry policies would encourage this
partnership because it could reduce the number of people illegally carrying a firearm. To increase the
chance of internationally sales Alien Gear can look at doing a direct investment in that host country.
The direct investment would have Alien Gear investing or owning in a foreign subsidiary (Kerin et al.,
2016). Alien Gear could also go the route of licensing by allowing a host country to use their patient
and make their product in that country. They would receive a portion of the sales and it would save
them on production and transportation

Vaccines And The Eradication Of Malaria
Vaccines are crucial components to put an end to Malaria. The process of eradicating Malaria starts
with studying Plasmodium falciparum. People have supportedthe efforts of trying to decrease the
intensity of the disease, but if malaria vaccines are to be used as part of a tool for the eradication of
malaria, they will need to have an impact on malaria transmission. They ve brought us the concept of
vaccines that stops malaria transmission .Transmission blocking vaccines target the sexual and
mosquito stages but also the asexual stage vaccines that have an effect on transmission.Vaccines have
also been useful for sustained control of diseases.
Introduction
A malaria diseased area has been classified as transmission intensity. However, malaria epidemiology
cannot be characterized on a one dimensional scale. Evidence of specific clinical locations of disease
or parasite species, is the beginning of natural immunity. The spread of an antimalarial drug resistance,
and vectors involved in transmission, among others, spread across endemic areas. If the eradication is
to be a success, then the malaria vaccine will need to target other malaria parasite species, especially
Plasmodium.
Discussion
Furthermore, malaria parasites have a complex life cycle in which they infect humans and are
transmitted by Anopheline mosquitoes. The completion of the parasite life cycle was a success and
requires specific molecular interactions between the parasite and host or vector tissues. It may be

The Differences Between Civil Litigation Procedure And...
The Differences between Civil Litigation Procedures and Criminal Litigation Procedures: Because the
public has suffered as a result of a crime committed by an individual or group breaking the law, the
United States brings criminal action and they are represented in court by a public official who is
known as, as a district attorney, public prosecutor, or United States Attorney. The jurisdiction of each
court affects the types of crimes that are presented there. Courts that have limited jurisdiction
prosecute lesser crimes (misdemeanors) and courts of general jurisdiction try more serious offenses
(felonies). In civil actions an individual or a group has caused harm to another and they go to court to
seek compensation for the harm caused. The injured party is called the plaintiff and they ask the court
to grant damages in the form of a monetary payment. Some jurisdictions allow for jury to hear the
trial. If neither party requests a jury, the judge renders a judgment after hearing both sides. In civil
actions, the party who brings in action must present a preponderance of evidence.
Steps in a Criminal Procedure:
Arrest: An individual files a complaint with law enforcement, the judge signs the warrant and law
enforcement can then make an arrest. An officer can make an arrest if there is probable cause and a
grand jury must be convened to determine whether to charge or indict the alleged criminal perpetrator.
Bail: After the accused is taken into custody, the court may

Dramatic Techniques In Arcadia
Arcadia is a play that Izzy and I felt very attached to so when the moment came to choose a scene, we
instantly knew which play we wanted to perform. Some plays are better understood when they are
read, but Arcadia is on the other end of that spectrum. Arcadia was the perfect play for us perform
because we had enough actors (three of us) and Arcadia s Act II, Scene 2 felt perfect for this final.
Izzy, Cole, and I have a funny dynamic as a group of friends so that translated perfectly into our scene
because the lens with which we interpreted the scene was comedic something we thought Stoppard
intended. Cole will play Jellaby, the sarcastic butler who is simply just trying to get through his day,
and he is perfect for the role. Izzy will play Lady Croom, the head of the house who always seems to
be courted by men at her house, and Izzy brings the perfect aggressiveness to convey overt power. I
will play Septimus, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our staging is not too complex besides two pivotal points. The first big staging moment is when
Septimus and Lady Croom are sitting down when Jellaby brings in her infusion. I must pour tea for
her and hand it to her while we continue a serious conversation and then immediately rip up the letter
from Lord Byron. The next pivotal moment is the most important in the whole scene. Septimus
justifies his meeting with Mrs. Chater by telling Lady Croom that it was only because, in his madness,
he believed the Chater with her skirts over her head would give [him] the momentary illusion of the
happiness to which [he] dared not put a face (61). During this interaction, I jump up and corner Izzy
on one side of the stage whilst in my passionate speech and then when I am finished I retreat into
myself. Izzy then executes Lady Croom s art of seduction by dragging her finger along my shoulder
while she passes me to the door. This staging is somewhat complicated but it contributes greatly to the
greatness of our

Food Manufactures have Taken Over
Gone were the days when industrialization was the prime origin and a new age of economic boom in
our country. This was a period where factories were established, provision of jobs being vastly
increased for Americans, big machines and buildings built to accommodate and the exploit the
opportunity and moment at hand. Due to this sudden improvement, food manufactures being the
primary industry and instrumental in their clever ways; developed a way to profit by reducing
workers, encouraged unsanitary habits and unscrupulous ways which resulted as a disastrous blow to
the public. This bad habit in the food industry (primarily the meat factories) in late 1800s to early
1900s aroused one of the most controversial novel (expose) The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, and yet
thrilling insight with details as to what was going on in the meat industry. Upton Sinclair describes the
frightful and dangerous working conditions of one meat packing facility in Chicago, thus far these
conditions were common to all facilities which led to laws that changed the bad patterns of these
manufactures. Workers with peculiar diseases in the meat factory had no alternative, but to work in the
poor condition due to the activities and establishments of production which showed no well being for
the employees and as to what they might be going through. The rise in the economy recommended the
young, old, men and women to seek for jobs in the meat packing industry which had a vast
employment rate.

Technology And The Health Care Industry With Robots
Robots have been rapidly introduced into our society over the past few decades and shows no sign of
slowing down, rather the production of new technology is rapidly increasing at rates never seen
before. With the recent strides in automated robots and artificial intelligence, we should expect to see
more and more new ideas as time passes and technology is produced. Many technology companies
have started creating and testing driverless cars that are safer than human drivers (Henig 2015).
Another technological advance is in the health care industry with robots being used to perform
surgeries and other assist in rehabilitation (Henig 2015). Lastly one of the most important advances is
in warfare, where robots are being created to not just shoot blindly at whatever moves (Henig 2015).
They are being integrated with artificial intelligence that allows them to identify and shoot enemies
while located its current position and identify surrounding buildings. With the recent surge of new
technology many people are skeptical if these robots and automated systems can actually make correct
decisions and not just logical ones. In a New York Times Magazine article written by Robin Henig,
she discusses the possible ethical decision making that people fear automated robots cannot make
consistently, which can result in death for those around the robot (2015). However, these claims are
short sited and mostly concern around outside factors rather than the robots themselves. With the

The Consumption Of Dairy Products From My Diet Essay
Eliminating Dairy People often times attempt to practice healthy behaviors, but usually, it s difficult to
sustain these goals. Some may pursue a healthy lifestyle, by either incorporating healthy habits or
eliminating unhealthy behaviors. Given my case, I intend to eliminate the consumption of dairy
products from my diet. Some may wonder what exactly is unhealthy about dairy products, others
might be informed about the high amounts of fat within dairy products, and a few might be aware of
the long list of side effects from the consumption of dairy. Oftentimes, people need to be informed on
how their habits have an effect in order to make a few changes in their lifestyle. Initially, I became
aware of the dairy industry from documentaries, but through time I learned more significant and
shocking facts. For this experience, I began to eliminate dairy from my diet since September and
continue this processed until present day. Throughout this process I came across a lot of surprises,
obstacles, and achievements. In class, we were told change or eliminate a health behavior to improve
our overall lifestyle. Most students shared their interest in being more active, quit smoking, or eating
more healthy foods. Personally, I wanted to focus on something that not only affected me but also
others. Therefore, I decided to eliminate dairy products from my diet. At first, I felt like it made no
sense to others, but I remained confident in my decision. Besides, I felt like this was an

Art Reflection Of The Art Of Electric Dress
ril 2017
The interactive installation, Electric Dress, is a wearable sculpture composed of various styles of
brightly painted, flickering bulbs, and electrical cords. The work is relatively large at 65 x 31 ½ x 31
½ and was created in Takamatsu, Japan. The 3 D abstract piece was crafted by Atsuko Tanaka in 1956.
This work is abstract because it resembles a dress, or kimono shape, but was not constructed to be an
actual piece of clothing. There is a hole at the top of the structure which allows a face to peep through,
making it an interactive piece for pictures or for the artist to be a part of. The regular light bulbs
flicker, the cathode styled bulbs are painted in many colors of bright neon enamel, and the electrical
cords fall to the ground.
The installation is a constructed, or assembled sculpture, because it is made up of many different
materials and pieces. Most sculpture art is created with one medium, such as wood or stone, which
makes the Electric Dress very unique. Constructed sculptures are assembled from a variety of
materials to create a work. Tanaka more than likely used techniques such as bolting, nailing, or
bonding with adhesive to assemble the structure. Constructional techniques and multi media works are
a very recent development in art, which is why the artist probably chose to use this medium. The artist
paired this modern technique with technology in order to create an overall theme of advancement of
ideas.
Tanaka used a few different elements and

I Believe That Cause Crime
What I believe causes crime is a question that I don t think anybody could really answer. There are so
many different theories some completely proven to be true and some that are so far fetched you
shouldn t put too much thought into the idea. If I had to choose what the most likely reasons for
criminal behavior I would choose poverty first and then addiction. Poverty because when you are

The Islamic State Of Iraq And Terrorism
War and conflict have raged in Southeast and Central Asia for centuries due to civil unrest and
political instability. The rise of the Taliban and other militant insurgencies have escalated the dangers
and unpredictability of an already unstable government in Afghanistan. The agenda of these jihadist
extremists is the takeover of the Afghan and Pakistan governments in favor of the more stringent
Islamic ways of the Taliban, and the destruction of anyone who opposes them. These groups,
professing to do the work of God, are perpetrating a coarse and distorted interpretation of Islam and

He was born in a Pakistani refugee camp and was raised and educated in a Pakistani madrassa. These
madrassas taught students very conservative Islamic ideologies as well as an indoctrination of
extremist jihadist ways. Omar took the teachings from the madrassa and implemented it into the
Taliban culture.
The Taliban emerged in 1994 from a group of guerilla type Muslim Mujahidin that had fought in the
Afghan and Soviet war, and were dissatisfied and disillusioned with their current Mujahidin
leadership. Much of the funding and high tech weapons provided to this militant group was the
contribution of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), working with the Pakistan
Intelligence Agency (ISI), in an effort to force Soviet withdrawal during the Cold War . Ironically,
those militants have now become a major problem in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Journalist and
bestselling author Ahmed Rashid said, Prior to the war the Islamacists barely had a base in Afghan
society (Rashid, 2000, p. 19).
Following the departure of the Soviets in 1989, civil unrest, chaos, and a civil war ensued in
Afghanistan. Millions of refugees fled to Pakistan. The Taliban, growing in strength and power, took
advantage of a weakened and unstable Soviet supported government. The Taliban conquered Kabul
and hanged the President, Dr. Mohammed Najibullah on September 27, 1996, reflecting the brutal
nature of this organization (Franzen, 2012, p. 3). The Taliban promised to

Essay On Gender Discrimination
Systemic prejudice against women of colour limits them from obtaining jobs for which they are
qualified. Sexism is a result of the historical discrimination against women in the workplace stemming
from the patriarchy. Patriarchal systems were in place and continue to be dominant in many societies
across the world, and a patriarchy is a power system of in society or the government where men hold
the power, and women are excluded. Because of this system, women have been excluded from the
workplace, but as time wore on, women began to find their place in male dominated workplaces, but
not without facing the challenges of discrimination. Gender can work alongside race to belittle the role
of women, for the study conducted by Cortina et al. (2013), found that although female women of
colour was associated with an increased risk for uncivil treatment, it was the female gender which
predicted increased exposure to incivility, regardless of race. This suggests that across different
workplace settings, there is a common prejudice held against women. Aside from the patriarchal
hierarchy, there are also structural and psychological barriers that disadvantage women in the
workplace (Cousineau Roth, 2012). In an experiment conducted at a summer camp where even when a
more nurturant environment is required, there was still a gender bias in favour of the male employees
(Cousineau Roth, 2012), which suggests people still perceive men to be qualified to take on leadership
roles even in

Insanity In The Most Dangerous Games, And The Other
Many stories have a horror theme, which show characters becoming insane. The examples of those
types of insanity stories are, The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, Survivor Type by
Stephen King, and last but not least The Others which is based on a film by Alejandro Amenabar.
Characters in the stories all develop insanity in different ways, but the characters live there life not
knowing of their insanity, and those are Rainsford and Zaroff from The Most Dangerous Games , Pine
from Survivor Type , and Grace from The Others . In the beginning characters are shown who they are
and what they do to protect themselves and others. But what they actually don t know is that as they

Therefore, this insanity that Grace didn t know about herself caused her to kill her children and

The second insanity story that shows the character becoming insane without knowing is the story

employed worker. Before Pine became insane without him knowing he was a disgraced surgeon. Pine

The Zoo Hypothesis
Possible Solutions Quarantine We really don t know anything about what kind of life may be out
there. There is no way of knowing if other civilisations would even welcome contact with us. It would
be completely reasonable to suggest that maybe they are lying low, hoping we don t ever notice them.
After all, we could be hostile and a threat to them for all they know. Once we have located them, they
may feel that it is possible we could come to visit, bring advanced weaponry and possibly even
diseases, contaminating their planet (AstroBioWeb). I believe this is an unlikely scenario, as I think it
would be highly unlikely for us to cross such a large distance (if it was even possible sometime in the
future) simply to attack or try to colonise a planet that has nothing to do with us. The Zoo Hypothesis
This hypothesis was posed by John Ball in 1973 (Ball, 1973). It basically states that we are being
observed by one or more civilisations for scientific purposes, or even as a novelty. It that was the case,
they would not want to disturb our natural behaviour and environment. This would suggest that they
are far more advanced than us, and see us as the equivalent of perhaps apes at best. They might even
regard us as being an endangered species, considering our slowly declining environment and general
hostility towards each other. This solution is of particular concern. If this is truly the case, what would
happen if we were successful in achieving interstellar travel, thus

Analysis Of Buffalo Bill
Disorders that Buffalo Bill Has Buffalo Bill suffered from various psychological disorders, the first
disorder that I will focus on is Buffalo Bill s Anti Social Personality Disorder (ASPD). The text states
that a someone who suffers from the ASPD as a psychological condition exhibited by individuals who
are basically unsocialized and whose behavior pattern brings them repeatedly into conflict with
society (Schmalleger, p. 132). Buffalo Bill would imprison the overweight woman victims that he

for keeping his victims in the dry well, who most of the time would be left in the dark which he

PTSD can be characterized by both psychological and physical symptoms, and people who suffer
from it will generally experience impaired functioning in various aspects of their lives (Schmalleger,
p. 246). In the film The Silence of the Lambs the screenplay really doesn t provide too much insight
on Buffalo Bill s childhood, but there is implications that Buffalo Bill had a traumatic childhood. If
the film The Silence of the Lambs provided additional information on Buffalo Bill s childhood, we
could have a better understanding of any specific traumatic or terrifying experiences that lead to the
development of Buffalo Bill s PTSD. Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the film The Silence of the Lambs, tells
Detective Clarice Starling Billy was not born a criminal, but made one by years of systematic abuse .
Due to Buffalo Bill s PTSD, it was clear that he had feelings of anger, self hatred and wanted to kill
women so that he could ultimately become one after he stitched his victims skin together and made a
woman suit for himself. Buffalo Bill ultimately wanted to turn himself into someone that he didn t
hate, so he felt like by wearing the woman suit and becoming a woman he could accomplish that.
These feelings could have been a combination of both the Anti Social Personality Disorder (ASPD)
and also Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Summarize disorders here Criminological theories
that apply to Buffalo Bill I found that there were

A Comprehensive Picture Of The Labor Market
1) Employment Situation Most narratives of U.S. economy usually begin with the employment report.
This report pastes a comprehensive picture of the labor market, and perhaps in a broader sense
provides a glimpse of the overall condition of the economy. Selected Indicator(s): Non Farm Payrolls
Change Importance Household income is largely depended upon wages and salaries. If the household
(workforce) earns more, it will spend more and businesses will produce more, thus increasing
economic output. Conversely, if fewer people are working, we will have lower spending and economic
activity will be reduced. It is this fundamental flow effect, which makes the employment report
generate expectations about business sales and profits. Household (consumer) spending accounts for
2/3 of the U.S GDP, thus the employment report has the power to move both equity and bond markets
and impact the U.S dollar. The Fed minutes from Dismal also reveal that the Fed takes due notice of
the Employment situation. The Non farm payroll change number tells us how many jobs were added
in since the last survey (monthly survey). Current Trend As the U.S. economy started to emerge out
the 2008 recession payroll gains were witnessed in the later half of 2010 and overall a positive trend in
payroll change i.e. payroll gains have remained intact ever since. Although, the recent number of
payroll gains of 38,000 is the weakest monthly gain in the last 5 years, but nonetheless the number is
positive.

Evil In Dance Mom
Evil is something in our world that is very overlooked and not talked about. To be evil is to encourage
harm or hate toward another person other than yourself. But Why is there evil? If a person is evil, are
they born evil? Or what makes a person evil? There has always been a constant feud between the
nature vs. nurture debacle. The say that nature theory holds that genetic influence over abstract traits
however, it is nurture that affects our behavioral innocence. People, places, and our experiences can
affect how we act towards others. How behavior is a huge factor when dealing with other people. It
can affect how we treat others and how others treat us.

How To Make Extracurricular Activities Mandatory
I agree with the principal s decision to make extracurricular activities mandatory. When most students
get off the bus they go home, veg out on the couch, play video games, and eat junk food. They usually

because they give you a chance to meet new people, gives you the opportunity to learn useful skills,

Zia Chisti s Orthodontic Disease
Orthodontic Treatment: The Clear Choice
Orthodontic treatment dates all the way back to the Egyptian era. For centuries people all over have
been fixed on the idea of straight teeth. Different cultures including Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome,
and Early France had different ways of straightening their teeth. Various people, mostly scientists and
philosophers, in history also made positive impacts in the orthodontic field. Today s current
orthodontic technology allows us to straighten our teeth without the hassle of wire and metal braces,
we use visibly clear retainers.
Zia Chisti was born in the United States of a Pakistani mother and American father. His father died at
a young age so Chisti and his mother moved to Lahore, Pakistan. There he went to Lahore American
School, a secondary school in the capital. Chisti continued his education at Columbia College in New
York, where he majored in Economics and Computer Sciences. After Columbia College, Chasti
furthered his education at Stanford Business, where he founded Align Technology. Chisti was an adult
orthodontic patient who wore retainers to make sure his newly treated teeth would not move. Being a
busy college student, Chisti would forget to wear his retainers for a couple days and put them back in
when he remembered. During the time he failed to wear his retainers he found that his teeth would

Oh Brother By Richard Shone Analysis
Oh brother indeed. While in the 2011 article by Richard Shone entitled, Oh brother!, Shone argues
while the information presented by the book isn t necessarily new, the different ways in which the
authors approach the subject makes for an interesting read. Yet, Shone often contradicts his own
claims, with his diction often invalidating what he said previously, establishing credibility for the
authors then destroying it by pointing out their biases which results in an overall inconsistent,
disorganized and chaotic article. He fails to adequately address his arguments claim and his purpose of
reviewing the book, for a book review serves to either praise and persuade others to read it or decry it
and critique it for its flaws. The author seemingly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their scrupulous examination of all of the information doesn t seem overbearing and akin to
information overload, in actuality Shone states the more one reads the colossal detail adds to the
enthralling nature of the book. Shone then though skews his opinion of the authors. The once herald
authors turn quickly to detached and petty. Including the fact that the authors dislike Gauguin, a friend
of Van Gogh s, does not add relevance to the piece nor can it be proven by this review. By including
this tidbit of information he opens the authors up to critic and open bias. He tries to recover their
credibility by randomly attaching at the concluding paragraph, a red herring, which deduces that Van
Gogh was in fact not murdered. This information though does not pertain to anything the author was
talking about previously, so in turn this makes his essay seem very rushed and ill thought out in the
end. His flippant attitude towards the authors makes the book seem as though it will be a disaster, but
he claims at first that the authors are innovate and fresh in their presentation of the information in the
book. If Shone is encouraging people to read this book going about it by bringing up the faults and
obvious biases of the authors then it isn t going to influence someone to read it. Which brings to
question just exactly where does the author stand, from reading the essay his stance is convoluted and

Brief Encounter With A Person Who Changed My Life
Every day we interact with many different people. Some encounters are brief and some will be so
important that they will impact you for the rest of your life. I once had a brief encounter that turned
into a life changing event. I has an encounter with a person who profoundly changed my future
.Through the meekness that he had while dealing with my fragile broken heart. The countless hours he
spent mentoring and encouraging me through the hardest times in my life.
It was an ordinary yet cold day in October of 2008 with the temperature reaching 53 degrees. I could
see children waiting on the side of a dirt road to board the big yellow school bus. They wore big fur
jackets, boots, mittens, hats and had long double layered scarves wrapped around their small necks.
The school bus speed down the one way street and pulled over. Stumbled out the bus for his morning
cigarette while the children fought over the half upholstered wore out seats for the best place to sit.
With a hoarse voice from years of cigarette smoking the driver screamed out, children stop running ,
then slowly made his way back to the discolored bus and drove off. It was there on the side of the
unpaved road that my ordinary day took a turn. That was the day I met my hero and the person who
would profoundly change my life.
He stood 5 9, athletic built. His light brown almond shaped eyes screamed mystery and he walked as
if he was gliding on a skating ring. When he spoke it was of knowledge that was

Although Pepsi s dividend payout ratio is slightly lower than Coca Cola s, the difference is marginal.
(Finance)
The Dividend Payout Ratio means the percentage of earnings paid to shareholders in dividends. The
payout ratio provides an idea of how well earnings support the dividend payments. More mature
companies tend to have a higher payout ratio. This ratio is calculated as Dividends per share /
Earnings per share. The Dividend payout ratio for Coca Cola is 48.2% while PepsiCo is 34.8%
The price/earnings ratio (P/E) is the best known of the investment valuation indicators. It is the
measure of the share price relative to the annual net income earned by the firm per share. The P/E ratio
has its imperfections, but it is nevertheless the most widely reported and used valuation by investment
professionals and the investing public. The financial reporting of both companies and investment
research services use a basic earnings per share (EPS) figure divided into the current stock price to
calculate the P/E multiple (i.e. how many times a stock is trading (its price) per each dollar of EPS). A
high PE ratio generally indicates increased demand because investors anticipate earnings growth in the
future. The PE ratio has units of years, which can be interpreted as the number of years of earnings to
pay back purchase price. The price/earnings ratio for Coca Cola is 12.97 while PepsiCo is 16.24.

Iago and Angelo as the Hypocrites of Shakespeare s Othello
Few plot elements inspire such an emotional reaction in readers as does hypocrisy. Not only do
readers feel genuine anger at the actions of the hypocritical character, but they also feel deep sympathy
for the Hester Prynnes of the stories they read. This tandem of anger and sympathy is a powerful tool
for an author to use to draw readers into his or her tale, because creating an emotional response in one
s audience is the best way to make them identify with the story. The response of the readers to these
situations is a fascinating one. Perhaps the reader remembers a time when s/he was the victim of a two
faced action. Perhaps stories about hypocrisy evoke a sense of moral outrage or awaken a sense of
justice in the reader. Perhaps the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Othello has chosen Michael Cassio as his lieutenant, leaving Iago in a lower duty. This bit of history,
disguised as background information the story, is really the crux of the whole play, arriving all of the
action in the five acts to come. It is superficially important to the story in that it drives Iago s future
actions. However, it is fundamentally important to the idea of hypocrisy because it is the main
hypocritical premise on which he acts. Simply put, Iago is upset because he has been passed over for
military promotion a promotion to lieutenant, which would have effectively made him Othello s right
hand man. One would naturally assume that such an office would require intense valor, amity, and
most of all, loyalty. However, he has come to hate Othello for passing him over. It is obvious here that
he has no loyalty or amity, despite the valor he may have shown in past battles. Effectively, he
criticizes and turns on Othello for not thinking him loyal enough, activities which fundamentally
prove his disloyalty. No truly loyal person would develop the resentment and hostility which have
taken root strongly in him. This is integral, because it establishes immediately that Iago is a hypocrite.
He has been overlooked for a position which he thinks he should have gotten because of his loyalty,

Impact Of Depreciation On The Construction Industry Essay
As part of the business and finance module, I am require to write a report, discussing how depreciation
impacts a firm in the construction industry. Within this report I will discuss different areas of
depreciation such as what is depreciation? , causes of depreciation, its importance in the construction
industry, how depreciation affects profits and how depreciation can be measured. I will also discuss
the different methods for calculating depreciation and the effects on accounts if depreciation is not
accounted for. In this report, I will be giving examples of fixed assets that are common to the
construction industry and also give examples of how depreciation is calculated.
What is Depreciation?
Depreciation is the reduction in the value of certain fixed assets. It is a periodic reduction of fixed
assets, usually done every year. Fixed assets are assets that add value to the company. Examples of
fixed assets that can be depreciated are vehicles, buildings, machinery, equipment and fixture and
fittings. The only fixed asset that is not depreciated is land, because it is not worn out overtime, unless
natural resources are being exploited. When a company buys a new fixed asset it doesn t account for
the full cost of it as one single large expense, instead the expense is spread over the life time of the
asset. This is done by depreciating the asset. For example a company purchases a CNC router for
€50,000 and will be used for five year. If they pay the full amount in the

Ethics and Related Philosophies

science of the ideal human character or the science of moral duty .
Ethics, sometimes known as philosophical ethics, ethical theory, moral theory, and moral philosophy,
is a branch ofphilosophy that involves systematizing, defending and recommending concepts of right
and wrong conduct, often addressing disputes of moral diversity. The term comes from the Greek

Consequently, distinguishing the philosophical beliefs of Socrates from those of Plato and Xenophon
is not easy and it must be remembered that what is attributed to Socrates might more closely reflect
the specific concerns of these thinkers.
The matter is complicated because the historical Socrates seems to have been notorious for asking
questions but not answering, claiming to lack wisdom concerning the subjects about which he
questioned others.
If anything in general can be said about the philosophical beliefs of Socrates, it is that he was morally,
intellectually, and politically at odds with many of his fellow Athenians. When he is on trial for heresy
and corrupting the minds of the youth of Athens, he uses his method of elenchos to demonstrate to the
jurors that their moral values are wrong headed. He tells them they are concerned with their families,
careers, and political responsibilities when they ought to be worried about the welfare of their souls .
Socrates assertion that the gods had singled him out as a divine emissary seemed to provoke irritation,
if not outright ridicule. Socrates also questioned the Sophistic doctrine that arete (virtue) can be
taught. He liked to observe that successful fathers (such as the prominent military general Pericles)

The And Consequences Of The 2008 Economic Crisis
There were many causes and consequences of the 2008 economic meltdown from different groups.
Parties such as banks, individuals, and the government were all responsible for causing the economic
meltdown. One factor was an overdependence on credit (Andrews 2009:1). In addition, struggling
businesses relying on the banks also contributed to the 2008 economic meltdown (Gross 2009:18).
Also, lax government policies like the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) contributed to the 2008
economic crisis (Gross 2009:30 31). These were the factors that led to the 2008 economic meltdown.

As a result, consumers were able to buy items that they were unable to afford. Cars were another
popular good that consumers purchased. Daniel Gross writes: Americans bought 16.8 million cars in
2002, and would buy nearly 17 million cars per year for each of the following three years. Car
industry sales, which accounted for between 15 percent and 20 percent of US retail sales, had always
depended upon the availability of credit (Gross 2009:42). This points to the fact that consumers took
advantage of credit in order to buy cars as it enabled the consumers to take out money in order to pay
for a car if they did not have enough of their own money. However, easy access to loans led to dire
consequences for individuals. Based on the article by Edmund Andrews, he had a lot of debt and faced
the consequences of higher interest rates all while he left his bills unpaid (Andrews 2009:3). The last

payment delinquency, it politely warned, you will lose your home (Andrews 2009:3). Based on the

money was the threat of foreclosure when the banks took away the homes of individuals. Individuals

Case 3.2.4 Justification Of Antimicrobial Use
3.2.4Justification of antimicrobial use
Before initiating antimicrobial therapy, even in the case of a correct diagnosis, the practitioner should
ascertain that whether such therapy is justified and will confer the benefit to the animal. The therapy
should help to contain and limit further extension of the infection, shorten its duration and reduce the
risk of systemic complications. Ideally, only diseased animals should be treated, and the treatment
should be as individual as possible. However, in the case of poultry this is not practical, and mass
treatment is accepted following a relevant diagnosis. Metaphylaxis should be avoided and prophylaxis
should be kept to a minimum. Routine prophylactic use of antimicrobials as a substitute for health
management should be discouraged. In routine surgical procedures in animals, administration of
antimicrobials may not be always necessary since aseptic techniques and hygienic measures can
replace the need for antimicrobials in most of the cases. Off label use of antimicrobials should be ...

Antimicrobial activity may be reduced significantly in pus, which contains phagocytes, cellular debris,

the fluid in abscesses and in other confined infected sites (pleural space, CSF, and urine), and
anaerobic conditions can reduce the antimicrobial activity of some agents markedly, particularly the
aminoglycosides. In addition, penetration of antimicrobial agents into infected areas such as abscess
cavities can be impaired because the vascular supply is reduced. Incision and drainage is thus the
preferred method for successful therapy of abscesses. The presence of a foreign body in an infected

acceptance of Eddie s feelings towards Catherine, to convey how it might affect Beatrice and to be the
voice of reasoning. He bluntly tells Eddie that there is no positive way out. When Eddie implies he
may have feelings for Catherine Alfieri is already aware and implies that this will be his fatal flaw. he

Over time, some of the simplest rockets and other space inventions have become even more elaborate.
In 1232, the first rockets were used by the Chinese and the Mongols while experimenting with their

of Emanuel Swedenborg, a Swedish philosopher whose ideas once attracted his interest. Blake s main
concept was imagination and many people questioned if he was brilliant or just completely insane.
William Blake was influenced by many great thinkers of his day, and was well aware of the conflicts
that were arising between science and the arts in his era. In his work, he makes sure to define reason
and explain how it differs from passions. He even assigned personalities to represent the conflicts and
characteristics of these definitions in his poetry and art. There have been many men who loved to
speculate the future. William Blake was one of these men, and if he spoke incoherently and obscurely,
it was because what he spoke had never been discovered before. He announced the religion of art,
which no man had ever done before him, and he understood it better than anyone else. He published
his most popular collection, Songs of Innocence, in 1789 and followed

Gunpowder Plot Analysis
Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare that was published in 1623. The Gunpowder
Plot of November 5, 1605 was an attempt to assassinate King James the I of England. The Gunpowder
Plot of 1605 and Shakespeare s Macbeth seem to be unrelated at first, but upon closer analyzation, the
two are closely related. The two are related because of the influence that the Gunpowder Plot had on
the plot of Macbeth. The themes of high treason, conspiracy and execution are themes from the
Gunpowder plot that influenced the plot of Macbeth.
The Gunpowder Plot was a plan to kill King James I of England. Assassinating the King of England is
bad enough, but conspirators did not stop there. The conspirators also wanted to kill the queen, her
first born son, and members of parliament (source: Britannica). The Gunpowder Plot was lead by
Robert Catesby and included four other conspirators. The four other conspirators were Thomas
Winter,Thomas Percy, John Wright, and Guy Fawkes. All of the conspirators were zealous Roman
Catholics angered by James s refusal to grant more religious toleration to Catholics. The conspirators
wanted English Catholics to take over England after the King and his parliament were out of the
picture.
The conspirators of the Gunpowder Plot wanted to (literally) blow up King James and his parliament
members. Conspirators were going to do so by igniting kegs of powder under the room that parliament
was going to meet in with the King. The conspirators rented a cell under where parliament was to
meet. Then, during the summer of 1605 the conspirators smuggled kegs of gunpowder into the rented
room. As the plot progressed more conspirators needed to be recruited. The additional conspiracy
members were: Robert Wintour, Christopher Wright, Francis Tresham, Everard Digby, Ambrose
Rookwood, Thomas Bates, Robert Keyes, Hough Owens, and John Grant
(www.historylearningsite.co.uk).
The day before the kegs of gunpowder were set to be ignited, the plot was discovered. The plot was
discovered, in the official version, through an anonymous letter to Lord Monteagle, a Catholic,
warning him not to attend the State Opening. Whether the letter was genuine or a forgery is uncertain.
In any event, on the 4 November

How Did Alexander Graham Bell End The Invention Of The...
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone on March 10, 1875 in Ontario, Canada. Bell became
fascinated with the idea of creating a telephone while inventing a harmonic telegraph. He hired his
assistant, Thomas Watson, an electrician, to help him invent such a thing. As they drew closer and
closer to success, Bell s investors filed a patent on the idea. Stories have it, that Alexander spilled a
bottle of transmitting fluid, and said Mr. Watson, come here I want you. Watson not only heard this
statement, but through the transmitter, thus accidentally finishing the invention. Bell and Watson were
successful in creating the very first telephone transmitter. Transmitting one s voice was a huge deal
back in this time.

Causes Of The Schlieffen-Moltke Plan
The Schlieffen Moltke Plan; which was drawn up originally by Alfred Von Schlieffen and reshaped by
Helmuth Von Moltke the Younger, failed to achieve its objectives in September 1914 due to the
alterations implemented by Moltke the Younger. The objective of the Schlieffen Moltke plan; which
was executed by the German Empire, was to advance through Belgium and enter France through the
Northern border. Once Belgium was defeated, the Germans wished to quickly overtake the French and
move quickly to fight the Russians before they could mobilise. However, the plan turned into a major
disaster due to the alterations that Moltke made before the Schlieffen Moltke plans execution, as well
as the revisions made during the offensive. His changes allowed the Allies to counter the attack. An
issue that Moltke and the German army encountered was that the Belgian army would not allow them
to march through without resistance. Moltke attempted to persuade the Belgian King Albert to grant
access through their country prior to the invasion. The Belgian King Albert declined, and did not
allow the Germans to flow freely through their country. This led to a pre emptive attack on Belgium,
which brought Great Britain into the war. The resistance that the Belgian s showed in the Battle of
Liege delayed the German forces which caused critical problems for the Schlieffen Plan. Another
issue with the Schlieffen Moltke plan that occurred due to the Belgian resistance was the failure to
defeat the French

  • 2. Black Friday Ethical Issues Thanksgiving is celebrated the third Thursday in the month of November. The following day is called Black Friday, during this event stores and companies dramatically reduce the price of their items. The consumer that is brave enough to face crowds and long lines might save enough money on purchases to make getting up early worth it. The gun industry and accessories broke record sales during this last Black Friday event (Smith, 2017). Alien Gear is one of the newest companies to emerge in the conceal carry holster industry. In following pages the Alien Gear background will be discussed, explore the market strategy, examine social and ethical issues, and describe the strategy addressing these concerns. Background When it comes to concealed carry holster options in the past there were only a few companies out there. In 2013, Thomas Tedder entered the conceal holster industry with his company Alien Gear ( About Alien Gear Holster , n.d.). Alien Gear first design was the Cloak Tuck and since then ... This step would require the company to check with the customer s state before mailing out the holster. State officials with stricter conceal carry policies would encourage this partnership because it could reduce the number of people illegally carrying a firearm. To increase the chance of internationally sales Alien Gear can look at doing a direct investment in that host country. The direct investment would have Alien Gear investing or owning in a foreign subsidiary (Kerin et al., 2016). Alien Gear could also go the route of licensing by allowing a host country to use their patient and make their product in that country. They would receive a portion of the sales and it would save them on production and transportation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Vaccines And The Eradication Of Malaria Vaccines are crucial components to put an end to Malaria. The process of eradicating Malaria starts with studying Plasmodium falciparum. People have supportedthe efforts of trying to decrease the intensity of the disease, but if malaria vaccines are to be used as part of a tool for the eradication of malaria, they will need to have an impact on malaria transmission. They ve brought us the concept of vaccines that stops malaria transmission .Transmission blocking vaccines target the sexual and mosquito stages but also the asexual stage vaccines that have an effect on transmission.Vaccines have also been useful for sustained control of diseases. Introduction A malaria diseased area has been classified as transmission intensity. However, malaria epidemiology cannot be characterized on a one dimensional scale. Evidence of specific clinical locations of disease or parasite species, is the beginning of natural immunity. The spread of an antimalarial drug resistance, and vectors involved in transmission, among others, spread across endemic areas. If the eradication is to be a success, then the malaria vaccine will need to target other malaria parasite species, especially Plasmodium. Discussion Furthermore, malaria parasites have a complex life cycle in which they infect humans and are transmitted by Anopheline mosquitoes. The completion of the parasite life cycle was a success and requires specific molecular interactions between the parasite and host or vector tissues. It may be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Differences Between Civil Litigation Procedure And... The Differences between Civil Litigation Procedures and Criminal Litigation Procedures: Because the public has suffered as a result of a crime committed by an individual or group breaking the law, the United States brings criminal action and they are represented in court by a public official who is known as, as a district attorney, public prosecutor, or United States Attorney. The jurisdiction of each court affects the types of crimes that are presented there. Courts that have limited jurisdiction prosecute lesser crimes (misdemeanors) and courts of general jurisdiction try more serious offenses (felonies). In civil actions an individual or a group has caused harm to another and they go to court to seek compensation for the harm caused. The injured party is called the plaintiff and they ask the court to grant damages in the form of a monetary payment. Some jurisdictions allow for jury to hear the trial. If neither party requests a jury, the judge renders a judgment after hearing both sides. In civil actions, the party who brings in action must present a preponderance of evidence. Steps in a Criminal Procedure: Arrest: An individual files a complaint with law enforcement, the judge signs the warrant and law enforcement can then make an arrest. An officer can make an arrest if there is probable cause and a grand jury must be convened to determine whether to charge or indict the alleged criminal perpetrator. Bail: After the accused is taken into custody, the court may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Dramatic Techniques In Arcadia Arcadia is a play that Izzy and I felt very attached to so when the moment came to choose a scene, we instantly knew which play we wanted to perform. Some plays are better understood when they are read, but Arcadia is on the other end of that spectrum. Arcadia was the perfect play for us perform because we had enough actors (three of us) and Arcadia s Act II, Scene 2 felt perfect for this final. Izzy, Cole, and I have a funny dynamic as a group of friends so that translated perfectly into our scene because the lens with which we interpreted the scene was comedic something we thought Stoppard intended. Cole will play Jellaby, the sarcastic butler who is simply just trying to get through his day, and he is perfect for the role. Izzy will play Lady Croom, the head of the house who always seems to be courted by men at her house, and Izzy brings the perfect aggressiveness to convey overt power. I will play Septimus, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our staging is not too complex besides two pivotal points. The first big staging moment is when Septimus and Lady Croom are sitting down when Jellaby brings in her infusion. I must pour tea for her and hand it to her while we continue a serious conversation and then immediately rip up the letter from Lord Byron. The next pivotal moment is the most important in the whole scene. Septimus justifies his meeting with Mrs. Chater by telling Lady Croom that it was only because, in his madness, he believed the Chater with her skirts over her head would give [him] the momentary illusion of the happiness to which [he] dared not put a face (61). During this interaction, I jump up and corner Izzy on one side of the stage whilst in my passionate speech and then when I am finished I retreat into myself. • 6. Food Manufactures have Taken Over Gone were the days when industrialization was the prime origin and a new age of economic boom in our country. This was a period where factories were established, provision of jobs being vastly increased for Americans, big machines and buildings built to accommodate and the exploit the opportunity and moment at hand. Due to this sudden improvement, food manufactures being the primary industry and instrumental in their clever ways; developed a way to profit by reducing workers, encouraged unsanitary habits and unscrupulous ways which resulted as a disastrous blow to the public. This bad habit in the food industry (primarily the meat factories) in late 1800s to early 1900s aroused one of the most controversial novel (expose) The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, and yet thrilling insight with details as to what was going on in the meat industry. Upton Sinclair describes the frightful and dangerous working conditions of one meat packing facility in Chicago, thus far these conditions were common to all facilities which led to laws that changed the bad patterns of these manufactures. Workers with peculiar diseases in the meat factory had no alternative, but to work in the poor condition due to the activities and establishments of production which showed no well being for the employees and as to what they might be going through. The rise in the economy recommended the young, old, men and women to seek for jobs in the meat packing industry which had a vast employment rate. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Technology And The Health Care Industry With Robots Robots have been rapidly introduced into our society over the past few decades and shows no sign of slowing down, rather the production of new technology is rapidly increasing at rates never seen before. With the recent strides in automated robots and artificial intelligence, we should expect to see more and more new ideas as time passes and technology is produced. Many technology companies have started creating and testing driverless cars that are safer than human drivers (Henig 2015). Another technological advance is in the health care industry with robots being used to perform surgeries and other assist in rehabilitation (Henig 2015). Lastly one of the most important advances is in warfare, where robots are being created to not just shoot blindly at whatever moves (Henig 2015). They are being integrated with artificial intelligence that allows them to identify and shoot enemies while located its current position and identify surrounding buildings. With the recent surge of new technology many people are skeptical if these robots and automated systems can actually make correct decisions and not just logical ones. In a New York Times Magazine article written by Robin Henig, she discusses the possible ethical decision making that people fear automated robots cannot make consistently, which can result in death for those around the robot (2015). However, these claims are short sited and mostly concern around outside factors rather than the robots themselves. With the current ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some may pursue a healthy lifestyle, by either incorporating healthy habits or eliminating unhealthy behaviors. Given my case, I intend to eliminate the consumption of dairy products from my diet. Some may wonder what exactly is unhealthy about dairy products, others might be informed about the high amounts of fat within dairy products, and a few might be aware of the long list of side effects from the consumption of dairy. Oftentimes, people need to be informed on how their habits have an effect in order to make a few changes in their lifestyle. Initially, I became aware of the dairy industry from documentaries, but through time I learned more significant and shocking facts. For this experience, I began to eliminate dairy from my diet since September and continue this processed until present day. Throughout this process I came across a lot of surprises, obstacles, and achievements. In class, we were told change or eliminate a health behavior to improve our overall lifestyle. Most students shared their interest in being more active, quit smoking, or eating more healthy foods. Personally, I wanted to focus on something that not only affected me but also others. Therefore, I decided to eliminate dairy products from my diet. At first, I felt like it made no sense to others, but I remained confident in my decision. Besides, I felt like this was an ... • 13. Art Reflection Of The Art Of Electric Dress ril 2017 The interactive installation, Electric Dress, is a wearable sculpture composed of various styles of brightly painted, flickering bulbs, and electrical cords. The work is relatively large at 65 x 31 ½ x 31 ½ and was created in Takamatsu, Japan. The 3 D abstract piece was crafted by Atsuko Tanaka in 1956. This work is abstract because it resembles a dress, or kimono shape, but was not constructed to be an actual piece of clothing. There is a hole at the top of the structure which allows a face to peep through, making it an interactive piece for pictures or for the artist to be a part of. The regular light bulbs flicker, the cathode styled bulbs are painted in many colors of bright neon enamel, and the electrical cords fall to the ground. The installation is a constructed, or assembled sculpture, because it is made up of many different materials and pieces. Most sculpture art is created with one medium, such as wood or stone, which makes the Electric Dress very unique. Constructed sculptures are assembled from a variety of materials to create a work. Tanaka more than likely used techniques such as bolting, nailing, or bonding with adhesive to assemble the structure. Constructional techniques and multi media works are a very recent development in art, which is why the artist probably chose to use this medium. The artist paired this modern technique with technology in order to create an overall theme of advancement of ideas. Tanaka used a few different elements and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Taliban emerged in 1994 from a group of guerilla type Muslim Mujahidin that had fought in the Afghan and Soviet war, and were dissatisfied and disillusioned with their current Mujahidin leadership. • 16. Essay On Gender Discrimination Systemic prejudice against women of colour limits them from obtaining jobs for which they are qualified. Sexism is a result of the historical discrimination against women in the workplace stemming from the patriarchy. Patriarchal systems were in place and continue to be dominant in many societies across the world, and a patriarchy is a power system of in society or the government where men hold the power, and women are excluded. Because of this system, women have been excluded from the workplace, but as time wore on, women began to find their place in male dominated workplaces, but not without facing the challenges of discrimination. Gender can work alongside race to belittle the role of women, for the study conducted by Cortina et al. (2013), found that although female women of colour was associated with an increased risk for uncivil treatment, it was the female gender which predicted increased exposure to incivility, regardless of race. This suggests that across different workplace settings, there is a common prejudice held against women. Aside from the patriarchal hierarchy, there are also structural and psychological barriers that disadvantage women in the workplace (Cousineau Roth, 2012). In an experiment conducted at a summer camp where even when a more nurturant environment is required, there was still a gender bias in favour of the male employees (Cousineau Roth, 2012), which suggests people still perceive men to be qualified to take on leadership roles even in ... There is no way of knowing if other civilisations would even welcome contact with us. It would be completely reasonable to suggest that maybe they are lying low, hoping we don t ever notice them. After all, we could be hostile and a threat to them for all they know. Once we have located them, they may feel that it is possible we could come to visit, bring advanced weaponry and possibly even diseases, contaminating their planet (AstroBioWeb). I believe this is an unlikely scenario, as I think it would be highly unlikely for us to cross such a large distance (if it was even possible sometime in the future) simply to attack or try to colonise a planet that has nothing to do with us. The Zoo Hypothesis This hypothesis was posed by John Ball in 1973 (Ball, 1973). It basically states that we are being observed by one or more civilisations for scientific purposes, or even as a novelty. It that was the case, they would not want to disturb our natural behaviour and environment. This would suggest that they are far more advanced than us, and see us as the equivalent of perhaps apes at best. They might even regard us as being an endangered species, considering our slowly declining environment and general hostility towards each other. This solution is of particular concern. • 20. A Comprehensive Picture Of The Labor Market 1) Employment Situation Most narratives of U.S. economy usually begin with the employment report. This report pastes a comprehensive picture of the labor market, and perhaps in a broader sense provides a glimpse of the overall condition of the economy. Selected Indicator(s): Non Farm Payrolls Change Importance Household income is largely depended upon wages and salaries. If the household (workforce) earns more, it will spend more and businesses will produce more, thus increasing economic output. Conversely, if fewer people are working, we will have lower spending and economic activity will be reduced. It is this fundamental flow effect, which makes the employment report generate expectations about business sales and profits. Household (consumer) spending accounts for 2/3 of the U.S GDP, thus the employment report has the power to move both equity and bond markets and impact the U.S dollar. The Fed minutes from Dismal also reveal that the Fed takes due notice of the Employment situation. The Non farm payroll change number tells us how many jobs were added in since the last survey (monthly survey). Current Trend As the U.S. economy started to emerge out the 2008 recession payroll gains were witnessed in the later half of 2010 and overall a positive trend in payroll change i.e. payroll gains have remained intact ever since. In this report, I will be giving examples of fixed assets that are common to the construction industry and also give examples of how depreciation is calculated. What is Depreciation? Depreciation is the reduction in the value of certain fixed assets. It is a periodic reduction of fixed assets, usually done every year. Fixed assets are assets that add value to the company. Examples of fixed assets that can be depreciated are vehicles, buildings, machinery, equipment and fixture and fittings. The only fixed asset that is not depreciated is land, because it is not worn out overtime, unless natural resources are being exploited. When a company buys a new fixed asset it doesn t account for the full cost of it as one single large expense, instead the expense is spread over the life time of the asset. If anything in general can be said about the philosophical beliefs of Socrates, it is that he was morally, intellectually, and politically at odds with many of his fellow Athenians. When he is on trial for heresy and corrupting the minds of the youth of Athens, he uses his method of elenchos to demonstrate to the jurors that their moral values are wrong headed. He tells them they are concerned with their families, careers, and political responsibilities when they ought to be worried about the welfare of their souls . Socrates assertion that the gods had singled him out as a divine emissary seemed to provoke irritation, if not outright ridicule. Socrates also questioned the Sophistic doctrine that arete (virtue) can be taught. He liked to observe that successful fathers (such as the prominent military general Pericles) ... Parties such as banks, individuals, and the government were all responsible for causing the economic meltdown. One factor was an overdependence on credit (Andrews 2009:1). In addition, struggling businesses relying on the banks also contributed to the 2008 economic meltdown (Gross 2009:18). Also, lax government policies like the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) contributed to the 2008 economic crisis (Gross 2009:30 31). These were the factors that led to the 2008 economic meltdown. Daniel Gross writes: Americans bought 16.8 million cars in 2002, and would buy nearly 17 million cars per year for each of the following three years. Car industry sales, which accounted for between 15 percent and 20 percent of US retail sales, had always depended upon the availability of credit (Gross 2009:42). This points to the fact that consumers took advantage of credit in order to buy cars as it enabled the consumers to take out money in order to pay for a car if they did not have enough of their own money. However, easy access to loans led to dire consequences for individuals. Compared to World War 1 the story is a minor problem: however, to the narrator, this relation would change her entire life from that point on. Although strange, her inordinate affection still never left, even after she decided to leave her professor. 2) In the first five paragraph of the story, the rain symbolized sorrow. Case 3.2.4 Justification Of Antimicrobial Use 3.2.4Justification of antimicrobial use Before initiating antimicrobial therapy, even in the case of a correct diagnosis, the practitioner should ascertain that whether such therapy is justified and will confer the benefit to the animal. The therapy should help to contain and limit further extension of the infection, shorten its duration and reduce the risk of systemic complications. Ideally, only diseased animals should be treated, and the treatment should be as individual as possible. However, in the case of poultry this is not practical, and mass treatment is accepted following a relevant diagnosis. Metaphylaxis should be avoided and prophylaxis should be kept to a minimum. Routine prophylactic use of antimicrobials as a substitute for health management should be discouraged. In routine surgical procedures in animals, administration of antimicrobials may not be always necessary since aseptic techniques and hygienic measures can replace the need for antimicrobials in most of the cases. • 44. Gunpowder Plot Analysis Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare that was published in 1623. The Gunpowder Plot of November 5, 1605 was an attempt to assassinate King James the I of England. The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and Shakespeare s Macbeth seem to be unrelated at first, but upon closer analyzation, the two are closely related. The two are related because of the influence that the Gunpowder Plot had on the plot of Macbeth. The themes of high treason, conspiracy and execution are themes from the Gunpowder plot that influenced the plot of Macbeth. The Gunpowder Plot was a plan to kill King James I of England. Assassinating the King of England is bad enough, but conspirators did not stop there. The conspirators also wanted to kill the queen, her first born son, and members of parliament (source: Britannica). The Gunpowder Plot was lead by Robert Catesby and included four other conspirators. The four other conspirators were Thomas Winter,Thomas Percy, John Wright, and Guy Fawkes. All of the conspirators were zealous Roman Catholics angered by James s refusal to grant more religious toleration to Catholics. The conspirators wanted English Catholics to take over England after the King and his parliament were out of the picture. The conspirators of the Gunpowder Plot wanted to (literally) blow up King James and his parliament members. Conspirators were going to do so by igniting kegs of powder under the room that parliament was going to meet in with the King. The conspirators rented a cell under where parliament was to meet. Then, during the summer of 1605 the conspirators smuggled kegs of gunpowder into the rented room. As the plot progressed more conspirators needed to be recruited. The additional conspiracy members were: Robert Wintour, Christopher Wright, Francis Tresham, Everard Digby, Ambrose Rookwood, Thomas Bates, Robert Keyes, Hough Owens, and John Grant (www.historylearningsite.co.uk). The day before the kegs of gunpowder were set to be ignited, the plot was discovered. The plot was discovered, in the official version, through an anonymous letter to Lord Monteagle, a Catholic, warning him not to attend the State Opening. The objective of the Schlieffen Moltke plan; which was executed by the German Empire, was to advance through Belgium and enter France through the Northern border. Once Belgium was defeated, the Germans wished to quickly overtake the French and move quickly to fight the Russians before they could mobilise. However, the plan turned into a major disaster due to the alterations that Moltke made before the Schlieffen Moltke plans execution, as well as the revisions made during the offensive. His changes allowed the Allies to counter the attack. An issue that Moltke and the German army encountered was that the Belgian army would not allow them to march through without resistance. Moltke attempted to persuade the Belgian King Albert to grant access through their country prior to the invasion. The Belgian King Albert declined, and did not allow the Germans to flow freely through their country. This led to a pre emptive attack on Belgium, which brought Great Britain into the war. The resistance that the Belgian s showed in the Battle of Liege delayed the German forces which caused critical problems for the Schlieffen Plan.
