Crafting an essay on the subject of "Professional Essays" is a task that demands a nuanced
understanding of the topic and a keen ability to navigate through the intricacies of professional
writing. This topic requires a writer to delve into the realm of formal, well-structured
composition, where precision, clarity, and coherence are paramount.
One of the challenges in writing about professional essays is the need for a comprehensive grasp
of the diverse genres and purposes that fall under the umbrella of professional writing. From
business reports to academic papers, the spectrum is vast, and each category demands its own set
of conventions and standards. It's not merely about putting words on paper but about tailoring
the language and tone to suit the specific requirements of the professional context.
Furthermore, addressing the nuances of professional essays involves a deep dive into various
industries and sectors, as different fields may have distinct expectations regarding
communication and documentation. Adapting to the language and conventions of fields such as

Drinking and driving
You should not drink and drive because you could die. Because you are drunk you
aren t in your right mind, you could drive into a tree then die. You could also drive
off a bridge. There is so many other things you can do than drink and drive. If you
have to drink something, drink water. Or you could drink tea or soda drink.
Something other than alcohol.
You could also take the life of another person. You don t have to drink alcohol while
driving. But,you can also drink the alcohol when you get home. You can also run
the risk of being fined up to 25,000 dollars. Not only that, but you could kill
someone and live. The sad part is you could have hit someone of any age. That
means you could have killed
3. The Poem The Sea Breeze
The sea breeze was gentle, yet rough, striking me with a force that knocked me to
the ground. My mother chuckled to herself and helped me back to my feet; she
always has my entire life. Oh Proserpina, she proclaims jokingly, my mother is a
goddess, one of many in the Greek Pantheon of Gods. I am her daughter, a demi
god some call me. But I don t like to act like one; I play with the other kids in the
village like any other kid; No one treats me differently. But my mom always wants
me to embrace who I am and don it proudly, I already do but I don t want to rub the
fact that I am a 14 year old Demi goddess who is basically immortal and my mom
could crush the village effortlessly. Regardless of that power, I just wish to remain
humble... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You re very scared for a goddess, he exclaimed. I ran even faster. You shouldn t be so
scared of me; I am here to help you. At this point I could not run anymore, I
collapsed and he stood over me. Proserpina, he signed and paused. I have been
waiting for your arrival for so many years. You are the light to my world and
people and we need you, more importantly, I need you. I stood there and was in
awe at what he had said, I was so confused one what he meant by his world and
people. Who are you? I blurted out. His look gave me reassurance that he looked
upset that I didn t know.
I am Pluto, god of the underworld and keeper of the hell. My eyes widened, Pluto was
who my mother hated the most. He was evil and deceitful. But he didn t seem too
bad; I don t know why my mother hates him. I stood up and looked up into his
eyes; I was expecting fire and evil. But they were a beautiful green. His stood as if he
was defeated, his head facing the ground. He seemed to almost genuinely care
about me and wanted me to join him. I knew I could not; what was I to do? Mr.
Pluto, I cannot go with you to your world. This is my home and people would miss
me and I have a duty to fulfill in this world. I told him bowing. I look up to see him
glaring at me so intensely to the point his eyes were so lifeless. With one swift
swoop he grabbed me off my feet and carried me to the horse. I screamed and flailed
around hoping anyone nearby could help me, but no one came. He put me
4. Concept Of Absolute Purchasing Power Parity
Introduction and significance of the research question
Does the concept absolute purchasing power parity (PPP) stay true that the goods in
one country should cost the same in another country after implying the exchange
rates? (For example, the pound cost of imported goods should be the same as the
price of the same goods being sold in the UK). Absolute purchasing power parity is a
concept with the assumption of goods having the same price after exchange rates
between countries. However, I want to find out if this is always true or not since it
plays an important role that differentiates from the relative purchasing power parity .
There is an assumption that if there are any deviations in the price in one of the two
countries, then the exchange rate and the relative prices should adjust to
accommodate, equating to the level where the basket of goods have the same price in
these two countries (Moffatt, 2014).
The data and methodology
I will be comparing exchange rates between two countries, these are the UK (ВЈ) and
the USA ($) to see if the changes are enough to make any differences or whether just
negligible. I will select data from the year 1980 to 2015 in yearly intervals.
Comparing each year with the previous year. These will be compared using Excel
and Minitab and displayed as a simple linear regression model.
The absolute PPP should mean that ERt = ERt 1 + u.
I will be using the formula ERt = a0 +bERt 1 + u = 0 and comparing that with the
traditional ef = a0 +
5. The Career Of A Naval Nurse
The famous Helen Keller once said The best and most beautiful things in the world
cannot be seen or even touched they must be felt with the heart. When a girl was
younger before her grandfather passed away he used to tell her all about the
adventures he went on as a kid. He talked about how he and his brothers used to get
in trouble playing with toy guns and pretending they were soldiers. When he grew
up into a handsome young gentleman he went and joined the Navy. Every time
she went to him he always told her a new adventure he and the boys (the crew)
would go on. He was her inspiration to want to join the navy, but her hero is the real
reason for her to want to be a nurse. The career of a Naval Nurse is a lifelong worth of

6. Compare And Contrast The Gospel Of Matthew And Mark
There are many different gospels that tell a similar story. Matthew and Mark are
two Gospels written in a similar way but have different audiences. The story is the
Last Supper and is about the last meal that Jesus experienced with his Apostles
before his Sacrifice. There are many similarities, but not very many differences.
Overall, the same story is told, but from two different perspectives. The Gospel
according to Matthew is the first book of the New Testament. The story explains how
the Messiah, Jesus, was refused by Israel and finally sent the disciples to preach the
gospel around the whole world. As Matthew wrote for his fellow Jews, he wrote his
Gospel in the language Jesus spoke, Aramaic, which led early Church Fathers to
believe Matthew s was the first Gospel. On the other hand, the Gospel of Mark
teaches that Jesus is the Son of God who assumed human nature. Mark wrote the
gospel in Greek for a Gentile Christian audience, which was undergoing
persecution, perhaps in Rome. A central theme is that following Jesus often means
that a Christian must suffer like Jesus did. Mark s Gospel points out that Jesus
accepted this important title, but that he was reluctant to let people know his
identity. (Matthew 26:26 30 and Mark 14:22 26 ) The story about the Last Supper
according to Matthew s Gospel and Mark s Gospel is about when Jesus and his
disciples were eating and Jesus took bread, said a blessing, broke it, gave it to
them and said, Take and eat; this is my body. Along with the bread, he then took a
cup, gave thanks, and gave it to his disciples telling them all to drink it, because it
is his blood of the covenant which will be given up for the forgiveness of sins.
Jesus said that from now he wouldn t drink the fruit of the vine until he drank it
with his disciples with the new in the kingdom of his Father. Afterwards, they sang
a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives. Both stories are the same except some
of the wording is slightly different. The only differences within the stories are some
words within some sentences. For example, in the first sentence in Matthew s
version of the Last Supper it says, While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the
blessing, broke it, and giving it to his
7. Nature And Nature In Coleridge s Frost At Midnight
Coleridge often explores the relationship between humanity and nature in his poetry.
These two groups are unified in his conversation poem Frost at Midnight , and allow
the reader into his internal thoughts. He meditates on comparisons by pairing the
magical appearance of frost on the windowpane to how his thoughts are in flux and
reflux. Coleridge shows how the thinking of the mindmirrors nature and how
repeating patterns reveal universal aspects of poetry, thoughts, and nature. Coleridge
makes use of the repetitive patterns in nature and uses them to capture the mind s
movement. The structure of the poem uses frost as a guide. Similar to how frost
propagates itself, the poem contains organic, repeating fractal patterns with small
variations within them. These patterns exist throughout nature in honeycombs,
mountains, clouds, and leaves. Furthermore, the speaker of the poem, Coleridge,
and his infant son, Hartley reflect the idea of repetition. Repetition exists as
Hartley is a replica of Coleridge as children can be seen as versions of their parents.
However, Coleridge also points out how he and his son are different as well.
Coleridge wants his son to be intimately familiar with nature, writing With tender
gladness, thus to look at thee, / And think that thou shalt learn far other lore / And in
far other scenes! (lines 49 51). Coleridge will make sure that his son will enjoy nature
and not have the experience he had in the city. The repetitive nature and movement of
8. Stopping Deforestation In The Amazon
Deforestation is a permanent destruction of forests, and an estimated of 18 millions
acres of forest is destroyed every year. In recent decades, the forest is losing at a
rapid rate, and deforestation is a man made problem because human cut down trees
for economic development and social development. Governments and environmental
agencies have recognized the problems of deforestation, and they set up different
policies to regulate business companies and manufacturers for furthering damage the
forest. One of the most outstanding policies is to restrict illegal commercial activities
in public forest areas, and new policies of reclaiming unregistered forest land and
regulating activities on private forest are also effective methods to stop deforestation.

One of the regulation that Brazilian government and environmentalists put on
regulating deforestation is restricting commercial use of cutting forest. In Jeff
Tollefson s article, Battle for the Amazon, he states federal government designated
areas in the Amazon basin for protection, cracked down on ranchers, farmers and
land speculators, and put pressure on local government, while environmentalists
ramped up campaigns against companies that were exporting beef, leather, and
soya beans from illegally cleared land . From here, we see both government
agencies and environmentalists have actively put effect on stopping illegal
deforestation in Amazon forest, and the result is remarkable. In the latter
paragraph, it states Brazil has lowered its carbon dioxide output more than any
other country through a historic effort to slow forest loss. The deforestation rate
here last years was roughly 75% below the average for 1996 to 2005 just shy of
Brazil s pledge to achieve an 80% reduction by 2020. In other words, it can be said
that the policy on restricting illegal activities in Amazon forest is workable for
stopping deforestation, and government should strengthen the enforcement on

11. The Pirates Of The Caribbe At Worlds End
Do you know how much work is put into making a film? Neither do I, but I helped
direct a play so I understand a good portion of it. Film making is not just getting a
cast, handing them a script, and start rolling the camera. It takes time, skill, and
key elements to not only get the production ready but to get across a message to
the viewer. In The Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007), Gore Verbinski
creates a visual and brings the viewer in on how it would feel like to be a pirate in
a place where you are not wanted or accepted. By using the three main formal
elements mise en scene, cinematography, and sound he makes you feel you are in
th emovie for yourself. Without knowing what these elements are or maybe
knowing only the bare minimum you, may feel the movie is great in general, but
after reading and analyzing the step by step process on what it takes makes it even
better. Captain Jack Sparrow is last one of Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who
is needed to come together to fight for the freedom of the pirates way of life. The
opening scene is the most important and most powerful because it sets a foundation
for the rest of the film. In Fort Charles Port Royal, Lord Cutler Beckett is doing a
mass execution of pirates and pirates sympathizers. This is the beginning of the
war he started against piracy as he tired to gain control of the Dead Mans Chest. As
people are lined up at the gallows there is a young boy who starts to sing a pirate

highest divinity of the cosmos, surpassing all dualities, including the separation

joyfulness of the god and reach liberation. Conversely, if he has lived a
dishonorable and irreverent life, the results of his bad karma will produce the

Even the utmost base souls will finally navigate their way out of even the abysmal
pit of hell, just as even the supreme and purest souls will finally lose their foothold in
heaven and fall again into the series of death and reincarnation. Liberation is the only
way to end this cycle (Evan Wentz, Dawa Samdup). If the being reacts to the
luminous white glow of the second god with the delight of an unadulterated soul,
he will be liberated. However, if he explicitly reacts with anger because he
indulged in this evil on Earth, he will shrink from the light in dread and be pulled
into hell (Evan Wentz, Bigelow). The series of events is replicated on the third
day. The soul must overcome self centeredness. If not, he will react to the god with
fear. If the soul reacts to the god with fear he is pulled into the human realm where
his next life will take place. The God of Eternal Life appears on the fourth day. If
the being has an adverse response to the god because of stinginess and excessive
attachment to wealth and materialism, he will be pulled into reincarnation in the

The last time I went to a sports event was over a year ago. Reflecting back on that
day I had a lot of fun. I have been to many sports events throughout adolescences
into my adult life. Watching the games was not very fun to me. I went because it
was recreational and I was able to bond and enjoy time with whomever I attended the
gamewith. I am very undecided about favorite teams and I am very competitive, so I
will watch whatever team that battles it out.
The day I attended that game, I was off from work and it was sunny and the weather
was beautiful. My best friend asked if wanted to go watch the eagles play. We called
about five more friends to come with us and we decided to tailgate. We bought
pizzas, and beers and headed down to the stadium. As we pull up and park we
unloaded the food and beers. I brought the football out we ran routes in the parking
lot. The game had already begun but we were having too much fun at the time to pay
attention. Once we finished up with the football we started playing cornhole. You
play the game by taking a bean bag and throwing it in your opponent s basket and
vice versa. We were preoccupied the entire time we never went into the stadium to
actually watch the football game. None of us even cared because we been many
times and we honestly had more fun with each other than sitting at watching other
people play.
As a fan yes, I love football, basketball, baseball and I know people have to be paid
and money has to be made, but the

Greenville, South Carolina, which is her first long time home and where she spends

Greenville, South Carolina gives Jackie the feeling of comfort, safety and protection

looking at the stars, she is comfortable and safe. A blanket of stars is like a blanket
which warms and comforts you when you sleep, A blanket can also make someone

18. The Rwandan Genocide And The Genocide
The Rwandan genocide occurred during the period of April to July of 1994. This
genocide was as a result of the Hutu ethnic majority slaughtering the Tutsi minority.
During this period as much as 800,000 Tutsis were killed. The genocide was started
by Hutu extremists in the capital of Kigali and the genocide soon spread across the
country. Despite all of this there were several survivors of the genocide. Immaculee
Ilibagiza is one of those people.
Immaculee Ilibagiza was born in 1972. She is the only daughter of four children of
the late Leonard Ilibagiza and Rose Ilibagiza of Mataba village, Rwanda. She was a
Tutsi, which was an ethnic minority in her nation. From childhood, Immaculee had
always done well in school. Immaculee was a 22 year old National University student
studying electrical and mechanical engineering when her country started
experiencing a political conflict on April 7th, 1994.
During the period which she was home for Easter break, the Hutu death squads began
a three month killing spree of Tutsis across the nation. During this period
Immaculee s entire family was murdered, however she was able to find a hiding
place in the packed 3 foot by 4 foot (1m by 1.3 m) bathroom of a local pastor, along
with seven other women. Immaculee and the others spent 91 days in this bathroom.
And during this period they lost a lot of weight entering at 115 pounds and emerging

Some of these things include, gender fairness, tolerance of different sexuality, and
building community. One of our goals this year was to get gender neutral
bathrooms for any of the students that may be feeling confused with their sexuality,
unsafe, or feel that they don t belong in their designated bathroom. It gives them

simple as skipping class. Another con was location. As of right now, the bathrooms
that are going to become gender neutral are the former teacher bathrooms and for
both the teachers and the gender neutral students, the bathrooms might be a little
further. This could cause taec her wondering why the students take so long in the

about events occurring in his daily life. It is probable that if every person lived his
or her life the way Meursault does, with the disbelief that there is a Higher Power,
life as we understand it today would be substantially different. People would not be
trying to evade sin each day, morals would change without something greater

These morals are what prevent the run of the mill person from doing wicked things.
These things could be breaking the law or not biting their tongue in the checkout line
at the grocery store. Meursault never spoke of any morals he had through the duration
of The Stranger; He killed a man without thinking of anything other than how hot it
was outside at the time. Once his case entered the courtroom, he stated, They [the
jury] had before them the basest of crimes, a crime made worse than sordid by the
fact that they were dealing with a monster, a man without morals. The jury looked
at him as if he was some evil monster that deserved the worse of punishment, purely
because he showed a lack of remorse for any of the actions he took. Someone could
commit the same crime, but be remorseful of what he had done, and would not
have gotten such a harsh punishment. People in a world with the belief of a Higher
Power that live life without morals are considered monsters and are looked down
on. If the world had no Higher Power, everyone would be that way. Everyone
would be considered a monster but no one would look down upon any body else
because they would not know any different. Crimes such as the one Meursault
committed would happen from people no one would expect, only because they are
not living by the same morals that people follow with the guidance of a Higher

I have always found the peer review process to be beneficial on both ends, whether
you are the writer or the reader, are being reviewed or are the reviewer. Having
multiple sets of eyes proofread your paper should help more than hurt. It is your
choice if you want to take the advice your peers gave. You have the option of not
making any changes at all, so whether you decide to take the advice or not, it does
not hurt to receive them. In Paper One, I found that peer reviewing others was a bit
difficult because any comments made could be offending them. I felt that I would
come off as criticizing the kind of person one is, instead of one s work since the
assignment was to write about something that is personal. In Sarah Jackson s UGA s

22. Analysis Of The Wicked And The Just
The book written by J. Anderson Coats called The Wicked and the Just, is about a
girl named Cecily who moves to Caernarvon with her father, leaving her relatives
and friends. They moved to a manor there and her father received a job to prevent
any conflict that the Welshmen causes. On the other hand, another girl named
Gwenhwfar is a Welsh who becomes Cecily s maid instead of the mistress of the
manor that Cecily moved into. There are many ways to share the point of view of
characters like in first person and third person. In this case, the story was written by
the author in a dual narrativeof both girls, but mainly narrative from Cecily. Since she
wrote it in dual narrative, there must be a purpose to it.

the readers about the wonderful, often overlooked location that is the Bayou. He
wants the public to know that this region is a treasure and holds many unique
qualities that so many places in the United States are missing today. Through his
journeys he came to love the land and the water. He learned a great deal about
shrimping and crabbing, and the way of life on the Cajun coast. While he wrote
this book to inform people about the region, he also wrote it to persuade readers to

many reasons why much of the marshlands are turning to open waters, and he
wants to make sure that the readers become curious about them. He wants to pass

These two films have different plots, actors, and most obvious one is filmed in color
the other black and white. Which leads me to believe that Alfred Hitchcock really
knew what he was about; as a result his films all a have a distinctive theme about
them. Both films keep you in a state of anticipation as the stories unfold and reveal

The cinematography of each film was thought out and tells us the story. So dialogue
was not really needed, you could read the movies by listening to the music and
watching the shifting patterns of light and shadow. Alfred Hitchcock was famous
for using point of view shot, it is most noticeable in Notorious where Alicia in

you feel a little unbalanced yourself while the scene is taking place. During the
movie Vertigo the way the camera angles, scenes, point of view shots and the story

story in Vertigo, you know when something new happens or is about to, it was well

Rolihlahla Mandela and I was born in July 18th 1918. I have seen much in my

oppressors. I had gone from living in a straw hut, to prison, and becoming the first
black and democratically elected president of South Africa. I feel I am nearing the

Poetry is an example of written literature. In ancient Greek, poetry means I create an
art form in which language is used for its aesthetic qualities (Poetry.org, 2005).
Poetry is a piece of literature that helps people to express their feelings and emotions.
People can express their sad, happy, and romantic feelings through poetry. There are
many poets in the United States such as Theodore Roethke, Robert frost, Emily
Dickinson, William Carlos Williams, and many others. In this paper, there will be an
introduction to William Carlos Williams and one of his poems, The Red Wheelbarrow
. There would be also an explication of the poem based on reader s interpretation.
William Carlos Williams was born in Rutherford, New Jersey in 1883. He began
writing poetry when he was in high school. He also decided to become a doctor
and a writer in the same time. He embodied his ambitions by attending medical
school and also publishing some of his literatures. William Carlos Williams had a
very unique characteristic in writing poetry. Instead of writing a long stanza,
William Carlos Williams made his poem as short as possible. Concise poems were
his original identity. He was the first poet who had subject matter that centered on
the everyday circumstances of life and the lives of common people (Poets, Poets.org,
1997). He influenced many other poets through his concise poetry. The subject
matter of his poetry also influenced people s idea in writing poetry. He conveyed a

Ehrlichiosis
Members of the genus Ehrlichia, the causative agent of human monocytotrophic
ehrlichiosis (HME), are important emerging tick borne pathogens globally. Ehrlichia
spp. is naturally transmitted by Ixodidae family ticks and maintained between the
ticks and the wild or domestic animal reservoir hosts.
E. canis can cause illness in dogs and other canids, and these animals are thought to
be the reservoir hosts. Evidence of infection with this or a similar organism has
also been reported in cats and captive wild felids. Human infections with E.canis
have been reported but the incidence is quite few. In Venezuela, chronic,
asymptomatic infections with E. canis in human patients have been reported as
well as six clinical cases with ehrlichiosis. All patients with clinical cases had a
fever, and most had a headache and/or myalgia. Also, malaise, arthralgia, nausea,
vomiting, rash, bone pain, diarrhea or abdominal pain occurred in some patients.
Leukopenia was seen in one patient and anemia in another. All of the six patients
were young and otherwise healthy, and the E. canis strains were identical to those
seen in dogs. E. canis nucleic acids have also been detected in a small number of
stored human serum samples in the U.S. Although E. canis occur worldwide, its
presence and density in an area varies with the distribution of its tick vectors. The
presence of novel Ehrlichia genotype suspected to be E.canis detected in dogs in
South Africa has been reported by Allsopp and Allsopp

Despite the fact that he tried to be sneaky about stealing the fire, he wasn t as sneaky

In addition, Prometheus along with the generations to follow was cursed with evil.

In the study of the Old Testament, one often comes up with the question of why the
Book of Esther is included in the canon even though there is no mention of God
throughout the whole story. However, since the Jews accepted it in the Hebrew
Bible, many scholars wonder whether God did inspire the writing of the story of
Esther the Queen. Perhaps a more intriguing and fundamental question is: What are
some aspects of the story that express the religious messages in the teaching of the
Bible? In fact, scholars have answered this question with various opinions over time.
The story of Esther was often seen as so entertaining, so comical, and so subtle that
to speak of its message can be profoundly misleading (Levenson 12). Like most

As for the Book of Esther, there are four significant religious messages those same
messages that could be found anywhere else in the Hebrew canon that are worth
looking into to understand why the book is included in the Old Testamentas well as
why it is believed to be inspired by the Holy Spirit. Throughout the empowerment of
Queen Esther and the victory of the Jews against their enemies, the Book of Esther
teaches the danger of pleasing oneself, the responsibilities of higher authority, the
irony of fate and the faith in God s sovereignty. Before exploring the religious
messages of the Book of Esther to prove that the book is in fact inspired by the
Holy Spirit, it is worth looking into the historical and cultural settings of the story.
The story is believed to be written in the Diaspora, late in the Persian era, about 100

41. How Cyber Security Can Be Simply Defined As Protecting...
INTRODUCTION TO CYBER SECURITY
The only system which is truly secure is one which is switched off and unplugged
locked in a titanium lined safe, buried in a concrete bunker, and is surrounded by
nerve gas and very highly paid armed guards. Even then, I wouldn t stake my life on
it.
Gene Spafford, Director, Computer Operations, Audit, and Security Technology
(COAST) Project, Purdue University
Cyber security can be simply defined as protecting your computer from unwanted
access. A simple definition, yet a very complex topic. The fundamental issue that we
face in this digital world that we live in is an infinite number of loopholes that persist
in the rules and regulations that govern the basic principles of computing. These ...

All this simply done by manipulating the basic rules that govern data transfer and
other network exploits.
Now let s talk about the daily user such as you and me. The simplest overlook, such
as opening an unknown attachment in an email or downloading a file from a third
party website can have serious consequences. A virus in the old age may simply
delete important files or folders on your computer but now they do a lot more than
that. Lurking deep beneath the simple user interface we see, maybe threats that we
never knew existed. Collecting information such as bank account numbers, addresses
and even logging individual keystrokes to transfer back to the attacker which in
return can be used for identity theft and manipulation. This is just the beginning of
the dangerous potential of the cyber world.

COMMON MALWAREAND THEIR PURPOSE
Viruses A virus is a type of malware that is capable of copying and spreading itself to
other computers in a network or through a physical medium such as a removable
storage device or through network sharing. Viruses often spread to other computers
by attaching themselves to
42. An Indian s Looking-Glass For The White Man
The Other is a term that is appointed by people to those with different ideas of race,
sexual orientation, social class, origin, and other classifications. There are numerous
amounts of people who could be characterized as the Other with American history
having much relation to cruel forlorn phenomenon. The Other s in history are those
who are also considered the outsiders, and the ones who were left without a voice in
society. A few examples of the Other that can be discovered throughout this week s
literature would be individuals who have obtained contrasting views on women,
Native Americans, and different political ideologies. The Other is one of the
common figures that are prevalent throughout all of American literature, and may be
defined as a whole part of society, a community within a society, or even an
individual group or class within a clique or gang.... Show more content on

In An Indian s Looking Glass For the White Man, the author ponders if [white
individuals] would like to be disenfranchised from all [their] rights, merely because
[their] skin is white, and for no other crime (Apess 761). The white men brought
these slaves into society as individuals who must spend their days withering away
in disgrace, due to the complexion of their skin. Since slaves were viewed as
inferior to caucasian males during this time, they were seen as the others. Individuals
of color in history were discriminated against, and singled out in society, which made
the USA a country that was defeated by an imperial
43. Child And Teen Beauty Pageants
It is not easy to be in the public s eye and constantly being watched can take a toll
on a person. Hundreds of child stars have grown up to be consumed with
depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, and severe self esteem
issues. So why would children that perform in child and teen beauty pageants be
any different? They are constantly being judged by their looks, their actions, their
poise and posture, their attitude and behaviors, the list goes on and on. That could
severely affect the way these children see themselves as they get older. When a
child is constantly being watched and criticized in every aspect, they develop a
complex and a need to be perfect, when in fact perfection does not exist. This is
when their depression or drug addictions might seep in, when they realize they can
never live up to the standards that others have set on them. This is a very dangerous
place to be, and no child or teenager should have to suffer through such a time as
this. Childhood should be full of playing outside with friends, going to the pool or
amusement park, visiting the beach or the mountains with family. It shouldn t consist
of maintaining perfection with all the fakeness day in and day out, or there could be
some very real consequences that might follow. Although there are massive amounts
of negatives that go along with child beauty pageants, there are also some positive
aspects to them. Some women have gained a great deal of success from entering into
beauty
44. Personal Statement For Purpose For Mechanical
Engineering
Personal Statement
The prompt is write an essay describing your reasons to apply to graduate studies
Frankly, my family always encouraged me to become a doctor at the hospital, so I
grew up having the dream of joining the Medicine School to fulfill my family s
ambition which I thought it was mine too. In grade 10, I was studying at night and
suddenly the electricity went off and that made me think what if I am a doctor doing
a life and death surgery for a patient and the power goes out. I thought about energy
recourses and other medical equipment the doctors use, who made them? I started
thinking that I can provide more services than doctors do. I can design and produce
items that all use and provide reliable and sustainable energy for us all. From that
night, I decided to study an engineering related discipline, and upon completing high
school and after consulting a Mechanical Engineering graduate who explicitly
explained to me what mechanical Engineering is all about, I found that Mechanical
Engineering is the best choice among the engineering fields.
During my undergraduate studies, I had the ambition of contributing to solve some of
the major problems in the world. Indubitably, the world we live in is facing so many
challenges and problems concerning energy crisis and climate change. Recently,
Yemenis encountering a great power shortage which doesn t meet its population and
infrastructure power demands. One of the great challenge and the sacristy of
