Tomato is grown practically in every country of the world in outdoor fields, greenhouses, and net houses. The leading tomato producing countries in the world are China, India, USA, Turkey, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Spain, and Brazil.
It occupies an area of about 4.73 million hectares with a production of 163.96 million tonnes in the world (FAO, 2016). It is the world’s 3rd largest vegetable crop after potato and onion
Tomato is the most widely cultivated crop in India. Tomato is a very important vegetable crop regarding both income and nutrition. Tomatoes are predominantly summer crops, but it can be cultivated throughout the year.
In its fruit contain vitamins like ‘A’ and ‘C’ and antioxidant in abundance quantity. Due to the unique properties contained in its fruit, tomato demand remains almost the same throughout the year.
Tomatoes are also used as fresh fruits, and they are cooked and cooked in pickles, chutneys, soups, ketchup, sauces, etc.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Topic : Production Technology of Acid Lime
2. Common / Local Name : Nimbu, Kagzi lime.
family Rutaceae
origin : India
Edible part of acid lime : Juicy Placental
hairs
Chromosome number : 2n=18
Scientific Name : Citrus aurantiifolia
Introduction
3. Soil and climate
The crop can be cultivated in both Tropical and
subtropical climate .
Optimum Temprature for growth 20 – 30°C
Deep well drained loamy soils are best suited for the
cultivation
Propagation
Generally acid lime is propagation by seed
Planting
Healthy seedlings are planted during June to
December at 5 to 6 m spacing .
5. Acid lime/kagzi lime varieties
1. Pramalini: Canker tolerant
2. Vikram
3. Chakradhar: Seedless variety of Acid lime.
4. PKM-1: Clonal selection from seedling progenies of
Kadayam type (Tolerant to leaf miner and citrus
butterfly
5. Sai sarbati: canker tolerant
6. Phule Sharbhati
PKM 1 Local variety VRM 1
6. Irrigation
Irrigate copiously after planting. After establishment
of the crop, irrigation is given at 7 – 10 days interval.
Water stagnation should be avoided.

7. After cultivation
The branches of main stem up to 45 cm from
ground level have to be removed. Green leaves @
30 kg
per tree are applied once in 3 months.
Intercropping
Legumes and vegetable crops can be
raised during pre-bearing age.
Growth regulator
To increase the fruit set, spray 2, 4 – D @ 20 ppm
during flowering stage. or NAA @ 30 ppm after
fruit set (marble size).
8. Plant protection
Pests ( Leaf miner )
The pest can be controlled by spraying
Dimethoate 30 EC @ 2 ml/lit
Leaf caterpillar
When the infestation is moderate to severe,
Quinalphos25 EC @ 2ml/lit is sprayed to
control
9. Stem borer
The branches containing grubs have
to be pruned. Plugging the fresh holes
with cotton soaked in solution mixed
@ 5 ml/20 ml of water will also control
the pest.
Fruit sucking moth
Malathion 50 EC at the rate of 1 ml/lit can be
used for control. Apply smoke and set up light
traps
10. Diseases
Stem blight
Prune dried twigs and spray 3% Copper
oxychloride OR 1% Bordeaux mixture to control
the disease.
Canker
Immediately after pruning
one spray of Copper oxychloride (COC) 0.3%
is done followed by 4 sprayings
11. Scab
Spray 1% Bordeaux mixture to control the
disease.
Tristeza virus
Remove the infected trees and destroy.
Spray Methyl demeton 25 EC @ 1 ml/lit
to control the aphids which spread the
disease.
12. Harvest
The crop starts bearing from 3rd year after planting.
July – September.
Post harvest treatment
Treating the fruits with 4% wax emulsion followed by pre-packing
in 200 gauge polythene bags
Storage Temperature 8-10°C and Storage life 6 – 8 weeks
Yield
The crop yields about 25 t/ha/year.
