Target audience
profile:
Demographics:
 In terms of our music video to the song 'Power' by Little Mix we have a very specific
target audience. In reference to demographics we are looking for young individuals
between the ages of 13 to 20. We have chosen this age group because at this age
group individuals are usually filled with excitement, especially during the younger
spectrum of this audience and want to listen to upbeat and positive music, such as
that expressed through dance in our video. The excitement that we aim to use within
the video, and the performative aspect of the video we will create will allow them to
connect and relate to the enjoyment and joy experienced by younger individuals.
 Typically we also target females for our music video, because of the girl band attitude
that is created. Pop bands, for example Little mix also act as inspirational characters
to young girls who aspire to be like them, such as through the lyric 'I got the power'
signaling female independence and power. Young girls often relate to girl bands,
following their style and dress sense in order to feel superior and essentially
confident and powerful within themselves. The boy rap scene that is involved within
the video also targets young girls as the attractive individual will provide further
reasoning for girls to watch. Boys will also be targeted through the music video
however, possibly not enough with the use of the Stomzy lyrics. Male individuals will
feel a relation possibly with the words that are used.
 The music video is set in central London within a busy setting involving busy streets,
and also cars allowing the video to appeal mostly to those living within a city.
Typically the video will apply to people living within central London as they will have
a connection with the environment and have a clearer understanding of where the
video is set, possibly allowing them to feel a sense of 'home', or even people who
enjoy visiting central London, for the 'night life' feeling.
 The typical race/ethnicity of the individuals who we will target through our music
video will be white, black and mixed race individuals as the characters we will use to
perform will vary in race. Allowing people of a variety of races to connect and feel
involved expressing the idea of diversity.
Psychographics
 Psychographics refer to the way an individual will think as well as their viewpoints or opinions and also
their likes or dislikes. I am aware through the demographics that I have highlighted that my music video
will target people with specific psychographics. Essentially I am targeting my music video to individuals
who enjoy dance, or even energetic activities for example gymnastics. The individuals will also often
follow specific trends for example ripped jeans that I will present through the video, and represent
general simplicity in their style. Individuals who watch pop music videos generally aren't that outgoing,
and uphold a positive attitude to life overall and therefore have simple hairstyles, for example curly or
straight and natural hair colours for example blonde and brown that is indicated through the characters
within our music video.
 Their style will therefore be presented through the video so that they are able to feel a sense of
belonging as well as a connection with the characters.
 The boys that are interested in pop music will often have the 'Justin Bieber' attitude.
