MUSIC VIDEO AUDIENCE
PROFILE
Raj Desai
WHO IS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE?
For our music video, our target audience for the song “Superheroes” by The Script is
teenagers aged around 16 – 19 looking at my survey for target audience.
Since our music video is based on school and boxing. It would be more targeted at
boys since they would be more interested in boxing than girls but since it’s about
school too then it would be also targeted for both the genders.
HOW WILL WE ATTRACT OUR
TARGET AUDIENCE?
We will be attracting our audience since me and my group are a similar age to our
target audience so we would have the same kind of idea and knowledge of who our
target audience is and what they would want to see.
By looking at my analysis of the target audience, most of the people I have asked said
they would like to see pop sub culture and so therefore both genders of our target
audience will be attracted to our music video since pop is well known and the most
played genre in the country.
DEMOGRAPHICS
• Age – The age of my target audience that we are going to be targeting will be from
16-19 but is specifically aimed at young teenagers at school.
• Gender – Aimed at both the genders but mainly the males because of boxing.
• Class – The music video will attract both upper and lower classes.
• Race – Our main protagonist is Indian but it is aimed at all races.
• Location – Our film will be aimed at mainly teenagers in South-East London.
PSYCHOGRAPHICS
I think our main target audience for my music video is going to fall under the
categories of ‘reformers’ and ‘mainstream’. I have chosen reformers as the primary
psychographic to focus on because of the narrative in my music video. Reformers are
socially aware, free from restrictions, make independent judgements and they seek
enlightenment. The protagonist is struggling with school work and bullies so he wants
to grow and become stronger independently which makes this music video fall into
this category.
Since we have chosen a pop song (superheroes), it relates directly to the mainstream
category; also pop is dominating the charts and radio so it is overplayed. Therefore, it
would appeal to the psychographics because they would prefer to follow trends to be
conventional people.
