Intro Although it is apparent that the genre Thriller has its own generic conventions, the sub genres involved have unique conventions of its own.
Psychological Thrillers conflict between the main characters is mental and emotional rather than physical. The Sixth Sense and The Talented Mr. Ripley are examples of psychological thrillers.
Psychological Thrillers The suspense created by psychological thrillers often comes from two or more characters preying upon one another’s minds. This could be done either by playing deceptive games with the other or by merely trying to demolish the other’s mental state.

Action Thriller Often feature a race against the clock Violence and an obvious antagonist Contain large amount of guns, explosions and elaborate set pieces for action to take place.
Action Thrillers Non Diegetic  sounds- fast pace music to add to the action. Hero- Male and/or female protagonist  Motives- Money, Secrets, object etc.
