This document summarizes a study investigating early predictors of functional outcomes in acute stroke patients at Mosul Teaching Hospital. The study aims to identify variables predictive of functional outcome after stroke. It reviews standardized clinical measurements used to assess impairment and disability after stroke. Specifically, the study seeks to obtain biomechanical parameters and assessment scores from the early post-stroke phase that best predict long-term functional outcome, and to evaluate how changes in these values over the first week relate to predictive ability. The literature review covers definitions of stroke, epidemiology, pathophysiology, types of stroke, risk factors and prevention, diagnostic studies, interprofessional care, and nursing management of stroke patients.
