 It is one of the two Special High Schools and General
Lyceums in Athens, located in the Municipality of
Heliopolis.
 The school annually hosts about 100 students
originated from the northern suburbs of Athens to the
southern suburbs of Piraeus.

Our school has been for more than 30 years
the center of capitalizing experiences and
ideas about disability.
 40 special education specialists, teachers, specialists
and support staff, guides of the school buses and
escorts work in our school.

It is a multipurpose center of teaching, care and
research on special education.

Over the years, we have all learned a lot and mainly
have come across multiple aspects of disability.
We realized that disability does not belong to anyone
exclusively, it is not a personal and family affair, but it
is a complex social issue.

Over the years, we have all learned a lot and mainly
have come across multiple aspects of disability.
we have emphasized on the development of the social
skills of our students and we have incorporated into the
curriculum /program cultural and sporting activities,
European programs and partnerships with schools
from all over Europe, environmental education
programs, health education, counseling and vocational
guidance, thus broadening the content of education.

Through joint actions, we have developed close links
with schools in the wider region.
More than 50 graduates of the Special General
Lyceum are graduates of higher education institutions
and have secured professional rehabilitation. Other
graduates honoured our country by winning medals in
Special or ParaOlympic, World and European Games.
