Who would be the audience for your media product?
• The audience for our media product would be both females and males as psychological problems effect
both genders. We also used both genders because both females and males like the horror genre and
are likely to watch this movie.
• The Target audience age is between 15-25 because people under the age of 15 tend to be more
sensitive and may not be able to handle such strong content. The target age ends at 25 because older
viewers may have less time because of work and other things which take up most of their time and
therefore there would be no point of targeting the opening sequence to them because less audiences
will be able to watch it.
• We decided that this will be a film directed at niche audiences as this is a independent opening
sequence and does not expect to make as much profit from it as blockbuster opening sequences. This
is because we are unable to use higher class special effects and our budgets are not as high as the
universal opening sequences. We are also targeting niche audiences as this allows us to make profit
but also gives our opening sequence to go universal if liked by many audiences.
• The social class we chose is working and middle class as they are the most likely to watch it. This is
because they have more free time on their hands and are more willing to visit cinemas whereas the
upper class may be working on holidays and have no time.
• For our opening sequence we targeted all sexualities because psychological problems affect everyone
not just one type of sexuality. We also used all sexualities as there is not one specific sexuality which
likes the horror genre.
• We also considered the bbfc rating as our opening sequence contains strong language and violence
which may be unsuitable for younger viewers (Rating 15). The story line may also lead younger viewers
to develop fears of clowns and other things used in our opening sequence which is unethical for us to
do.

  • 1. Question 4 Who would be the audience for your media product?
  • 2. • The audience for our media product would be both females and males as psychological problems effect both genders. We also used both genders because both females and males like the horror genre and are likely to watch this movie. • The Target audience age is between 15-25 because people under the age of 15 tend to be more sensitive and may not be able to handle such strong content. The target age ends at 25 because older viewers may have less time because of work and other things which take up most of their time and therefore there would be no point of targeting the opening sequence to them because less audiences will be able to watch it. • We decided that this will be a film directed at niche audiences as this is a independent opening sequence and does not expect to make as much profit from it as blockbuster opening sequences. This is because we are unable to use higher class special effects and our budgets are not as high as the universal opening sequences. We are also targeting niche audiences as this allows us to make profit but also gives our opening sequence to go universal if liked by many audiences. • The social class we chose is working and middle class as they are the most likely to watch it. This is because they have more free time on their hands and are more willing to visit cinemas whereas the upper class may be working on holidays and have no time. • For our opening sequence we targeted all sexualities because psychological problems affect everyone not just one type of sexuality. We also used all sexualities as there is not one specific sexuality which likes the horror genre. • We also considered the bbfc rating as our opening sequence contains strong language and violence which may be unsuitable for younger viewers (Rating 15). The story line may also lead younger viewers to develop fears of clowns and other things used in our opening sequence which is unethical for us to do.
