Rasa Shastra is the science of inorganic pharmaceutical preparations in Ayurveda. It deals with preparations using mercury and other metals. According to its history, Lord Shiva is considered the originator of the basic elements of Rasa Shastra. The texts reference Shiva imparting knowledge of rasa to disciples like Parashara, Chandrashekhar, and others. The connection to Shiva stems from descriptions of him in Puranas being related to concepts of impurity, linking tantric practices involving rasa to Shiva.

PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATIONS OF AYURVEDA.

ृ तां शास्त्रां रसशास्त्रां ॥"

3. History of Rasa Shastra
• Lord shiva was related with Rasashastra as parad,
which is basic Element of Rasashastra is said to be
originated from lord Shiva.
