High cutting speeds and feeds are essential requirements of a machine tool structure to accomplish its basic function which is to produce a work piece of the required geometric form with an acceptable surface finish at as high a rate of production as is economically possible. Since bearings in high speed spindle units are the main source of heat generation. Friction in bearings causes an increase of the temperature inside the bearing. If the heat produced cannot be adequately removed from the bearing, the temperature might exceed a certain limit, and as a result the bearing would fail. To analyse the heat flow in a bearing system, a typical ball bearing and its environment has been modelled and analysed using the finite element method. The maximum temperature in the bearing has been calculated as a function of heat generation with the rotational speed as a parameter. The goal of this analysis is to see how fast the temperature changes in the bearing system with respect to rotational speeds. In this thesis, at high speed range, a steady state thermal-stress simulation is performed by using FEA method to investigate temperature distribution of the bearing and the result shows that the temperature increases gradually with increase in rotational speed and it is validated by analytical formulation done. Further the increase of rotation speed the inner ring centrifugal displacement increases which causes larger contact deformation and stress. The dynamic stiffness of the variable preload bearing is analysed analytically and it is found that the radial stiffness decreases with increase in rotational speeds.

A wide variety of bearings have been developed to combat some of the different types of vibration problems. This report consist the analysis of 360deg hydrodynamic bearing of Boiler Feed water Pump. The boiler feed water pump is very critical rotatory equipment of Thermal power plant the bearing of this pump must be able to withstand in vibration and other hydraulic forces while still maintaining a high degree of reliability. This report consist analysis and design of 360 hydrodynamic bearing also replacing fixed pad by flexural pad and analysis bearing vibration and compare vibration for the same condition with the help of FEM Method in ANSYS.

Abstract This project deals with investigation and rectification on failure of bearing of casting shakeout, required in foundry industries to separate solidified casting and sand from mould box. The failure of bearings is mainly due to brinelling tends to create cavities on the bearing raceway. This result in roller and inner races surface of spherical bearing get damage. The rectification of existing system uses four bearings as modified setup of existing system to distribute the load acting on shakeout aims at reducing this frequent breakdown, increases life of bearings and increases the productivity of plant. Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

2. INTRODUCTION
The term rolling contact bearings encompasses a wide
variety of bearings that use spherical balls or some type of
roller between the stationary and moving elements.
The most common type of bearing supports a rotating shaft
resisting a combination of radial and axial (or thrust) loads.
3. TYPES OF ROLLING CONTACT BEARING
Axial bearings.
Angular contact bearings.
Deep groove ball bearing.
Self-aligning ball bearings.
High speed angular contact ball bearings.
4. CONSTRUCTION
A rolling contact bearing consists of four parts - inner and outer races, a
rolling elementsuch as ball, roller, or needle, and a cage which holds the
rolling elementtogether and are equispaced around the periphery of the
shaft.
5. ADVANTAGES
Low starting and running friction except at very high speeds.
Ability to withstand momentary shock loads.
