This document provides an overview of the Ordnance Factory in Muradnagar, including its products, certifications, machinery, and processes. The factory produces aerial bombs between 250kg to 1000lbs, as well as ammunition hardware. It has certifications for quality management, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards. The factory uses machines like electric arc furnaces, CNC machines, and grinding equipment in its production lines for heavy steel, general machinery, and light steel works. 2. INTRODUCTION
Ordnance Factory, Muradnagar ,a
metallurgical factory under the Ordnance
Factory Board, Kolkata (Ministry of Defence)
was set upon 1.3.1943 during Second World
War.
It is an ISO-9001 and ISO 14000 certified
Defence Production Unit with NABL
Accredited laboratory.
The factory and estate is spread in 323.15
Hectares of area. The factory has well
equipped 40-bedded Hospital and a
Dispensary inside the Factory to look after
the Health of the employees.

6.  COMPUTER NUMERIC CONTROL is the automation of machine
tools by means of computer executing pre- programmed
sequence of machine control commands.
 In modern CNC systems, the design of mechanical part and its
manufacturing programme is highly automated.

M codes are essential in all CNC program to ensure a functioning
line of code. All CNC have a M code in both the first and last
line of code.

7. HSF( HEAVY STEEL FOUNDRY)

MACHINE USED:-
1- Electric arc furnace- To melt the raw steel for casting of
aerial bomb and tank parts.
2- Shot blasting machine- For fatling of casted product.
3- Oil furnace- For heat treatment of aerial bombs.
4- Pit furnace – For heating the bombs to perform quenching.
5- Grinders– To remove excess metal from the surface of
bombs body.

8. GMS(GENERAL MACHINE
SHOP)
 PRODUCT:-
1-Finished 1000lbs,450kg,250kg bomb shell.
2- T-90 Tank track chain.
MACHINE USED:-
1- horizontal drilling and facing machine- To make a hole at
noise and to maintain the length of bomb.
2- CNC machine – For making the profile of the bomb shell,
finishing pass of turning.
3- Lath machine- For turning the surface of bomb body to
maintain the thickness of bomb shell, boring, threading at
nose as well as tail.

controller(PLC) is an industrial digital
computer which has been ruggedized
and adapted for the control of
manufacturing process, such as
assembly line , robtic devices.
They were first developed in the
automobile industry to provide
flexible, ruggedised and easily
programmable controllers to replace
hard-wire ,timers and sequence.

INTERFACE)
1- HMI(HUMAN MACHINE
INTERFACE) is a medium for
information exchange and
mutual communication between
electromechanical system and
the user.
2-It allows the user to complete
settings through through
touchable images or keys on the
user- friendly window.
3- Interface between user and
machine.

PYROMETER

work on the principle of
SEEBACK EFFECT.
