IICD works in four sectors, including education, to improve quality of education through the strategic use of ICT. The quality of education is decreasing due to issues like high student-teacher ratios and a lack of relevant teaching materials. IICD focuses on educational change by equipping schools with affordable hardware, training teachers to integrate ICT, and providing locally-relevant digital content like approved textbooks. IICD pilots programs, like providing low-cost tablets in Malawi, and then looks for partners to help scale up successful initiatives.
