Theme Of The Count Of Monte Cristo
Theme Analysis The Count of Monte Cristo, the romantic novel which is written by Alexandre
Dumas, tells a story about that the protagonist designs an elaborate revenge for his enemies after he
escapes from the prison since they are the people who frame him by planning the conspiracy. This
novel uses the experience of Edmond to claim its theme that people who only know how to be justice
and kind could not have enough power to defend themselves unless they also know how to think
rigorously and deal with the emergencies calmly. First of all, the author designs the plot of revenge
after Edmond already becomes the count of Monte Cristo in order to tell the audience that people need
to know how to catch the proper opportunities by analyzing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In this novel, the author depicts the scene that Edmond is learning from Faria for every field in the
prison which he does not believe he could leave the jail one day. Dantes possessed a prodigious
memory, combined with an astonishing quickness and readiness of conception; the mathematical turn
of his mind rendered him apt at all kinds of calculation (chapter 17) is the brief description of the
circumstance that Edmond is learning from Faria. Edmond considers that he could never use the
concept of math or the method of calculation. The original impetus of studying the science and
languages is that he does not want to be a person who basicly knows nothing and barely has nothing
inside his soul. However, the knowledges that he learned in that two more years make him have ability
to plan an elaborate revenge towards his enemies after he actually escapes the jail successfully. The
experience of the protagonist demonstrates that it is necessary for the people continue to enrich
themselves no matter when or where because people could not make the opportunities play a
considerable value if they are lacking of the knowledges. Therefore, people should insist to
accumulate their knowledge base to defend themselves when the identity of representative of justice
and kindness does not

The First Year Of Life
Infancy is defined as the period from birth to 12 months of age (Kyle, 2008). Growth and development
changes which occur in the first year of life are numerous and dramatic (Kyle, 2008). The first year of
life is an extraordinary and captivating time in the human lifespan (Kyle, 2008). Infants reveal vast
amounts of learning in the psychosocial and cognitive, language and communication, and
social/emotional domains (Kyle, 2008). The average weight of a newborn is 7lb. 8oz. (Kyle, 2008).
Most infants double their birth weight by the time they are 4 to 6 months, weighing an average of 16.5
lbs. (Kyle, 2008). The average height in most newborns is 19 to 21 inches long at birth, however the
first 6 months; length increases by 1 inch per month (Kyle, 2008). On average, the first teeth begin to
erupt between the ages of 6 to 8 months (Kyle, 2008).
The normal development for a 6 month infant includes appropriate motor development such as
sensory and gross motor (Kyle, 2008). A newborn can see objects from about 8 inches away (Kyle,
2008). Infant begin to develop rapidly, by the time they are 6 months they have developed depth
perception, which is the ability to judge if objects are nearer or farther away than other objects (Kyle,
2008). Babies at this age can already follow moving objects with their eyes and reach for things (Kyle,
2008). Hearing is an important aspect, which by 6 months they can identify sounds that may come
from the left or the right side (Kyle, 2008).

Essay On Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
In the 19th and 20th centuries, factories were very unsafe places to work, yet they were where most
people found jobs. Factories had accidents all of the time, but the most notable of the tragedies is the
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. The results of this event and many other factory accidents in the late
19th and early 20th centuries led to better overall conditions for workers, especially immigrant
workers. In the case of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, employees were forced to work under
horrible conditions. Many times, the employers abused their workers by setting clocks in the factory
backwards which forced their workers to unknowingly work longer shifts for the same amount of pay.
Also, most factory buildings in this time were highly unsafe, especially the Triangle Shirtwaist
Factory Fire in 1911. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911 was the case of 146 deaths and 71
injuries. These numbers are so high primarily because of how dangerous the building was to work in.
The Triangle Factory was 9 stories high, with the shirtwaist factory on ... Show more content on

Essay on Determination
Some people believe that talent and a winning attitude are all you need in order to succeed in your
endeavors, but a winning attitude means having determination, which many people lack. As seen on
wisdomforthesoul.org, Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination.
Determination is an important factor in the overall success or failure of a person s efforts.
Unfortunately, determination is not something that comes easy to the majority of people. To be truly
determined, a person must first be passionate about what they re doing. Passion, however, is only the
first step towards resolution and determination. One must have a clear goal in mind, and be willing to
do anything to achieve said goal. Once they have set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(www.merriam webster.com) This is synonymous with my personal definition of determination. When
the end is decided upon, there is no reason or desire to change said goal. A person under the influence
of determination is comparable to a train. The train will not change its direction, as it cannot, and no
matter what, the train will continue along the tracks until it either reaches its destination, or is stopped
by the conductor. For as an example, my plan after high school is to go to college, and then move into
the professional world. When confronted about possibly wanting to join the military, my answer is
absolutely not. Going to college right after high school has always been my mindset, and there s no
way my determination will let that change. I am the metaphorical train, because my destination is set,
and there s no chance for me to adjust my direction. I will not stray from my goal, because it would
mean wrecking myself and all those involved in my endeavors. There will be mountains in front of
me, and people I may have to run over to reach my goal, but when one s mind is set, they will not
waver, and neither will I.
Another dictionary defines determination as firmness of purpose (thefreedictionary.com). When one is
determined, they are ready for what life throws at them, because no matter how obscure the path may
be, they always have a clear view of their final destination. To be determined means to always know

Columbine Quote Analysis
Why They Did It While reading Columbine, the only thing readers can ask themselves is, Why did
they do this? The only thing a reader can do is make his/her assumption based off of the facts given
throughout the book as it is not clearly stated. By reading the book, it is very easy to assume that both
Eric and Dylan were depressed and did not feel like they were treated fairly. Eric was the more violent
of the two, although both had significant dealings with the shootings taken place. Their illnesses
brought them together, making them feel as if they clicked or understood each other more than anyone
else. Dylan is very easily identified as the most depressed of the two. In chapter thirty five, Dylan
stated just how depressed he was. I get more depressed with each day, he complained. Why did friends
keep deserting him? They did not, actually, but Dylan perceived it that way. He fretted about Eric
dumping him, too. Wanna die, he repeated. (page 198) Dylan felt as if he was all alone and death
equaled freedom to him now. Dylan was not worried about anyone but himself and how he felt. His
depression had consumed his thoughts and made him think of the unimaginable. This very well could
have been the reason Dylan was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His psychopathic ways showed through the tragedy of the shooting at Columbine. Eric is easily
percepted as the mastermind of the Columbine shooting. In chapter forty eight, it explains how we can

their day planners, and Eric s are riddled with plans, logs, and results of experiments; Dylan shows
virtually no effort. Eric acquired the guns, the ammo, and apparently the material for the bombs, and
did the planning and the construction. (page 305) Eric was taken as a psychopath for his violent ways
and how he wrote in his journal. He detailed the murders out vividly and talked aggressively

Edict Of Milan Analysis
The Edict of Milan was written c. 313, in Nicomedia; the terms of this document were and agreed
upon by Constantine and Licinius a few months prior in Milan, ergo it s title. The official declaration
contains the legal details pertaining to religious expression in the Roman Empire with a direct
emphasise upon Christianity. There is no original copy of this document, there are only direct copies
 most notably within Eusebius of Caesarea s, Ecclesiastical History . Eusebius, was a Christian and
wrote from a wholly biased perspective many years after the official documents release. The edict is
not the main aspect of the document, instead it is integrated to make a religious and ideological point .
The Edict is a significant piece of text in the context of the Modern, Western, Christian society.
However, was not listed within Law: The Theodosian Code which was issued in c. 438 under Emperor
Theodosius II . This text was to serve as an authority on historical legal cases in the Roman Empire.

The Portrayal Analysis Of Rosalind s As You Like It
After considering all the definitions available from The Oxford English Dictionary Online of the word
giddy chosen from the passage, As You Like It Act 3 Scene 3, lines 281 328, I had concluded that
Definition 3 A deemed to be the most relevant to the passage. The description of attributes and actions
and elated to thoughtlessness {OED online, 2017) seems rather fitting to the character of Rosalind,
and almost key, for Rosalind a petite but noble, wise woman, with a profound knowledge of all the
intricacies of the heart, and indeed how to manipulate these emotions and stir within others
foolishness. Danson Brown suggests All Rosalind s speeches should be played giddily as she is
stylistically varied he continues that Rosalind s adopts registers that change in mood from teasing to
holiday humour (Danson Brown, 2015 p.56) However the quote I thank God I am not a woman, to be
touched with so many giddy offences as he hath generally taxed their whole sex withal. (Rosalind in
As You Like It, 3.2.335 38) in itself is quite giddy light headed, frivolous, flighty (OED online, 2017)
as there is a verbal irony it involves a discrepancy between what is said and what is really meant, as in
its crude form, sarcasm. The themes of the entire play as well as this chosen passage also fit around
the definition of giddy aptly the delights of love and the malleability of the human experience, and the
motif of artifice, being easily carried away by excitement (OED online,

The Crucible Summary
The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller in 1953, is a fictional story based on historical facts of the
Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Originally a hit Broadway play, The Crucible was later adapted into film
format. Miller s inspiration for The Crucible came from a brief anti Communist movement led by
Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin during the Cold War in the 1950s. During this time, the
American government conducted their own version of a witch hunt by illegally investigating
American citizens suspected of being Soviet sympathizers. Miller was inspired to write The Crucible
after his own arrest and after being one of many to be blacklisted in Hollywood. Arthur Miller
metaphorically compares the hysteria of the Salem Witch Trials to the very ... Show more content on

suspect of witchcraft. The innocent are scrutinized for associating with the devil and accused of
harboring malevolent intentions against their neighbors. The girls are then brought to court and
ordered to confess the names of the real witches in Salem that are responsible for the strange events
that were occurring. The girls named many men and women that were practicing magic to obtain
personal gains. Old conflicts involving property rights and money soon ignite within the community
and add more fuel to the accusations of witchcraft. Abigail also claims that Elizabeth Proctor, her ex
employer, is guilty of witchcraft. However, the community does not realize that John proctor,
Elizabeth s husband, had an affair with Abigail. No one suspects that Abigail is lying. As Elizabeth is
taken to jail, John vows to stand in court the next day and confess his affair with Abigail in order to
make the community and the courts understand that the accusations of witchcraft are false.

Statement Of Interest In Architecture
My interest in architecture grew due to a number of reasons. Apart from the fact that studying
architecture meant getting a chance to explore new places and sites, it is also the only profession
where I could have something that I ve designed, realized in real life. Growing up in a culturally rich
and diverse country like India, I ve always been fascinated by how every city has it s own unique
characteristics. With further research, I realized architecture is not only about designing and
construction, but more about the manifestation and expression of the cultural needs and values of the
society. It is the most important evidence of our past and helps us to interpret and study the evolution

Classroom Management Reflection Paper
3. Reflection on theory in practice
3.1 Introduction
Teachers use a variety of preventative and corrective strategies in their classroom organisation. These
practices should be based on a teacher s pedagogical perspectives. While there are many different
practices, the physical layout of the classroom; expectations, rules and code of conduct; logical
consequences; and I messages will be the focus of this reflection.
3.2 Classroom physical layout and resources
The physical layout of the classroom was aimed at cooperative learning. A method of organisation that
has the students participate in small groups (Lyons et al., 2014). Tables and chairs were generally

This system was based on a behavioural perspective, whereby expectations were set and behavioural
or academic compliance was rewarded. This method is most similar to the assertive discipline outline
by Lyons et al. (2014). The use of this token reinforcement system is recommended for motivating
disinterested students, encourage students with poor academic outcomes, or to deal with a class with
challenging behaviours (Woolfolk Margetts, 2013). In this case, the token system may have been
appropriate because it also functioned as social reinforcement, which is consistent with cognitive
behavioural theory (Lyons et al., 2014). Whereby, students felt social pressure to conform to the
expectations of the teacher and were reminded by peers when they were not conforming.
The class code of conduct also reflects an assertive discipline approach with one behavioural
descrpitor stating, listen and follow instructions . However, unlike the code of conduct advocated by
Lyons et al. (2014), this code of conduct did not articulate a values statement and principles. Instead,
only behavioural descriptors were listed. Having the behavioural descriptors without the principles
and values statement detaches it from its purpose. Therefore, why students had to listen and follow
instructions was not clearly explained.
3.4 Logical consequences
In the classroom, the teacher used logical consequences which are based on Goal Centered Theory. A
consequence differs from a punishment by

The Theories Of The Theory Of Evolution
Eighty seven percent of American scientists believe that a series of random chemical and biological
events produced mankind. However, the philosophical theory of evolution has no solid evidence,
whereas creation can be proven. Science is supposed to be based on observation, right? The best
theories satisfy the test of experimentation. No one can test if evolution happened. Non one can prove
that evolution actually happened. But what evidence can we place against evolution? In 1859, Charles
Darwin published On the Origin of Species, introducing the theory of evolution. One hundred and
fifty six years later, scientists still accept this senseless philosophy. House Majority Leader Tom
DeLay states, Our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who are
evolutionized out of some primordial soup (Snyder). Schools worldwide have presented exactly this to
the young, impressionable minds of your future doctors, engineers, scientists, and presidents. They
assure us that if we give a small amount of mud enough time it can, by itself, bring about the art of da
Vinci, the plays of Shakespeare, the music of Mozart, and the brilliant mind of Einstein. I would like

The Battle Of Yorktown By William Faulkner
Battle of Yorktown
A Striking Start
You are galloping full speed at full speed like it is the last day of your life, you ride into the city of
Yorktown fiercely, then your rider wants you to go faster, you are galloping faster than you have ever
run, as fast as a speeding bullet. The wind is slapping your face as hard as a hammer, you finally run
into the sea of smoke, muskets, and bayonets. The person riding you violently thrusts his mighty
sword, and swiftly fires his French pistol. Cannonballs fly over you like soaring hawks destroying the
fortifications that may have taken years to build, you are a proud horse in The American
Revolutionary War, and you will never stop galloping for the Patriots even if it kills you.

troops commanded by George Washington and, admiral Francois, Count de Grasse a French naval

The British soldiers were cornered because the Continental Army attacked from all sides. The

This type of legislation provides a framework whereas an application can be made to further detain a
prisoner who is due to release as they are deemed to be an unacceptable risk of further offending and
their further detention will protect the community (Field, 2003).
Whilst it is generally accepted that the community broadly welcomes such imposing and punitive
legislation, it is imperative that our disgust for these offences/offenders does not prevent us from
finding the injustice on an ethical and moral basis (Wortley and Smallbone, 2003).
One of the fundamental principles of the Criminal Law System is the presumption of innocence until
proven guilty (McSherry, 2003). By enacting punitive legislation such as the examples given above, it
has been said that it is removing this Common law right from the individual (Greig, 1995). It has also
been said that it creates an exception to the general principle of law that no person shall be imprisoned
unless a court comprised of Judge/Jury is convinced, beyond reasonable doubt that the person
committed a very serious offence. Thereby effectively allowing people to be detained without the
burden of proving guilt (Keon Cohen, 1992).

Application Of Delone Mclean s Information System
ABSTRACT The study was conducted to validate the application of DeLone McLean s Information
System (IS) success model (2003) in a local setup in Kenya and to evaluate the success of a enterprise
resource planning (ERP) system from a user perspective. It was carried out at Coffee Research
Foundation (CRF) in Kenya. A number of past studies to measure the success of information systems
in different settings were reviewed leading to the choice and use of the updated DeLone McLean IS
success model in this study. The research involved the use of questionnaires as well as interviews and
focus group discussion (FGD). A number of hypotheses were tested and the results indicated that the
updated DeLone McLean s IS success model was valid as a useful model for this particular study. The
study also indicated that the variables system quality, information quality, and service quality stood
out as critical determinants of how information and communication technology systems can be used to
improve organizational performance. Keywords: ERP system, DeLone McLean IS Success Model,

Modernism Vs Imperialism
Modernization has always been the objective for growing colonies and empires. The current
generation of today s time still aims to modernize and grow as a nation. However, the past holds many
mistakes and misconceptions about how the world can continue to modernize given specific
circumstances and factors. Today, historians, citizens and many others look over these past events and
learn from the complications made from previous leaders. One great example of a horrific imperial
occurrence is portrayed by King Leopold II of Belgium. Within his time of ruling he displayed
manipulation, ignorance and gruesome consequences of corruption. He took the opportunity to create
prosperity out of the Congo Free State and turned it cold with unethical dishonesty, brutality and
corrupt power. With all of his planning going to waste, King Leopold showed all of history how
combining imperialism with modernity can turn to the absolute worst for humanity. To begin,
imperialism had always been a long term system of governing. Empires were built, colonies were
created, and growth occurred to make today s world. It was always seen that the king of an empire
knew what was best for his nation. He was given the power to make impacting decisions and lead his
empire to success. However, many kings were found corrupted and abused their powers for their own
benefit. King Leopold used his skills to try to persuade his people and neighboring nations into
believing that the Congo State was the best

marriage. Boys are expected to be the providers, while girls are to stay at home and keep her mister
happy and satisfied as for as he is the one sustaining for their needs. A. Munro used Boys and Girls to
convey the idea that males are prominent to females in the society because it exhibits the important
duties, titles and privileges that are compiled to boys but remotely to girls.
When girls try to prove their worth in the society, they are obstructed with situations. Situations that
they may experience starting from a young age, such as the need to stay home in order to be trained by
the women figures in the family and be able to fulfill the duties that awaits them later in life;
becoming a wife and a mother, precisely as the society expects them to be. Moreover, they are
neglected to be given the chance to perform tasks that are envisioned to be difficult and manly. Tasks
such as working in a farm. The protagonist in the story is a girl who prefers manly duties and have had
a hard time accepting her true purpose in life. She perceived the roles associated with women, not as
important as the duties given to males. For example, her mother s duty is to stay home to make sure
that all the daily household chores are completed. Not to mention, her mother serves as a helpful

Bill Of Rights Created
Have you ever wondered what the bill of rights is or who created it? The bill of rights consists of the
10 first amendments of the USA constitution, which was written by James Madison. It was created by
the Anti Federalist who didn t want the government to have too much power in their hands. The reason
why the bill of rights was created was because the Anti Federalist didn t want the government to go
over their rights. They responded that it was needed to have a bill Or list of rights because it was
needed to protect such basic liberties as freedom of speech and religion. The reason why they wanted
them to be written down on a legal document was because they knew that the government would

the present study will hold good with previous studies which vary from 5 33.3% and pure numerical
abnormalities (45,X; 47,XXX) could not be observed (table 3). The CA observed was only X
mosaicism in two of the studies (gupta, Butnarui) as compared to present study (16/43%). The
percentage for X mosaicism was almost equal in a study done by Wong (14/45.1%) and the present
study. The XY female and its variants were not observed in other studies except in two (Opitz, 1/20%;
Kalavathi, 1/11.1%) which was less compared to present study (8/22%). The structural abnormality
was at a higher range in the study done by Kalavathi (6/66.7%) followed by Safai (3/60%).
When the studies on amenorrhea are done in a particular region or racial group, the percentage of CA

How Could Magnetically Levitated Trains Relieve the...
Introduction
Transportation is one of the most essential spheres of human s life in such aspects as economic
growth, communication, tourism, and utilization of space. Thence, it is very important for it to have
minimal effect on the environment, be safe, cheap, comfortable, and fast in use. Conventional
transport, such as trains and airplanes, causes a number of problems including air pollution, high
amounts of energy consumption, huge need of maintenance, high prices, and risks of safety, thus not
being efficient enough. Therefore, new generation of transport must correspond to definite
requirements: be efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound. The technology of the new kind of
transport magnetically levitated trains could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, according to Figure 2, the amount of CO2 increases with the rise of speed. Conventional
trains are also not efficient in economic aspect, since there is a demand for constant maintenance
(Figure 1), such as periodic replacement of gear, wheels, rails, etc., which may lead to huge financial
expenses. Figure 1. Comparison of Maglev and Wheel On Rail Systems. Source: H. W. Lee, Kim, and
J. Lee 2006, 1917. Figure 2. The Energy Consumption of a Train Calculated for Different Speeds and
its CO2 Emissions per Passengers. Source: Garcia, 2010, 41.
Air transport is constructed to be faster and more convenient than trains, however there are also
several burdens that are associated with airplanes. The most important aircraft problem is vast fuel
utilization European Commission 2009 indicates that airplanes have huge CO2 emission 51.5 gram
per passenger kilometer. In addition, serious risks of safety usually worry people, for instance, there is
a recent loss of Boeing 777 airplane with all the passengers, which is usually considered to be very
safe, and still cannot be found (Ranter 2014). Airplanes are also very dependent on weather
conditions, as can be seen on Figure 3, number of delays lead to considerably high financial expenses
more than 7 billions in 2012. Figure 3. Annual and Per Minute Cost of Delays to U.S. Airlines.

Themes In Fire And Flood
In the book Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott, the main character Tella is faced with many challenges
that she decided to take on. These challenges she took were for her brother Cody and curing his
sickness. They were taken place in the middle of a jungle, desert, and mountain ranges where many
dangers were presented. She faced many situations along this expedition, but she never abandoned the
thought of being able to help her brother. One theme that can be supported throughout the book by
many critical scenes is that it takes a lot of strength and perseverance to make sacrifices for a person
that is important.
In the book Fire and Flood by Victoria Scott, the theme was majorly supported in many specific parts
of the book. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it, and Tella was having a hard time. At this time of the book, the author made it seem as if Tella was
going to have to give up. To be specific, the book states My head bobs above and below the surface,
each time I draw in a breath , I wonder if it ll be my last (Scott 154). This quote connects to the theme
because it shows how she had to go through rough times that were worse than others, but she still
never gave up. This supports the theme because it is a good representation of what she had to go
through in the race. In addition, the author explains how there were more dangerous situations outside
of the natural obstacles in the race. Specifically, the book states I look over my shoulder and gasp. The
strange men are chasing us (Scott 155). This part of the book is very important because it shows how
other things were there , such as unsafe people who were also another risk to their lives at this time.
This shows that Tella had to be very cautious of her surroundings and who was near her. After all,
Tella went on this race for her brother knowing the conditions she was going to be put through, which
shows her strength and perseverance.

Moral Values In Beowulf
Ever since a young age, children have been told stories with a clear moral lesson. These lessons are
used explicitly to show basic principles that a growing mind needs. However, as one ages the morals
become less obvious, but they remain just as influential. Examples of these less direct morals are seen
by young adults in academic analyzation and in their personal and social lives through popular movies
or music. Marvel s Spider Man: Homecoming and Anglo Saxon poem, Beowulf, exist to help readers
understand a variety of moral principles needed to become a respectable citizen and a hero. The
writers of the screenplay and epic portray the main character as a tragic hero to show audience that
one may have the confidence to attempt a task, but they must be reasonable enough when they are not
capable to do so. In the film, Spider Man/Peter Parker takes on crimes that he thinks he is ready for,
but is not trained enough to do so. When he is not able to complete the task, his mistake leads to
almost costing the lives of thousands of people and him losing his suit. (Spider Man: Homecoming).
The screenplay writers use this scene to show how our hero relied on the wrong factors and did not
take in account that he was not ready to complete his goal, representing society s tendency to eagerly
jump at opportunities that they are not yet ready for.
In the epic, Beowulf , the author writes, ... Beowulf rose, still brave, still strong, and with his shield at
his side, and a mail shirt on his breast, strode calmly, confidently, toward the tower... (Lines 511 513).
The author wrote this quote to emphasize to readers how confident Beowulf was upon entering this
battle despite his older age. This event causing his untimely death gives the impression to the audience
that going into a situation unprepared sometimes leads to irreversible outcome. In addition to
encouraging audience members to understand their limits, the two works also show the importance of
asking for help.
The main characters in both plots are given opportunities to achieve their goals by already respected
superiors, proving to the audience that it is okay to require help. In the film, Peter Parker is finally
given his chance to become the hero when billionaire,

Not every dog is a good boy and we need to also remember that these are animals who will do what
they need to do in order to survive. This can mean them fighting for their life or adapting to their
surroundings in order to live another day. Animals are intelligent and amazing creatures that rely on
instincts as we cannot truly communicate with them. Though some breeds have gotten a bad
reputation, there are organizations out there that are doing everything they can to help save innocent
lives that are being ruined by bad stories. Big or small these people are putting their time and effort to
inform people of their ignorance.
Further spreading knowledge of this matter can help limit animals on the street and help find ones in
shelters new homes. Adopting those in shelters helps by giving them a second chance at living a happy
life but also allows for more room so other animals in need can move in. The overabundance of
animals in shelters can be limited if people would spay and neuter their pets. By doing this it will
eliminate the unexpected or unwanted pregnancies and allow for animals in the shelter to be looked at
more. Not many people are aware of the closest animal shelter or the primary one that might be active
in their community. This is one thing that needs to change as we make this situation more aware to the
community. Having the local animal shelters more accessible as well as advertising them

A Comparison Of Henry Ford s Assembly Line And Model T
Ford s assembly line and Model T
Henry Ford s assembly line and his automobile, the Model T, revolutionized manufacturing and the
development of today s automobiles and engines. The assembly line and Model T caused American
industry to expand and also ushered a new American lifestyle.
The interest Ford had for mechanical and motorized machines started at an early age. He was born on
July 30, 1863 on a farm in Dearborn, Michigan. Ford had five siblings, and his parents raised them all
to be disciplined and healthy children. Ever since Ford was a little kid, he had great interest in
everything that was mechanic, and he would rather work on that over anything, especially working on

Introduced on October 1, 1908, Model T started a whole new era of transportation. The first Model T
to ever be produced was in a factory on Piquette Avenue in Detroit, but the factory was later moved to
Highland Park plant due to the start of mass production of the car. Everyone wanted the easily
operated, easily maintained, and easily manageable car on the rough roads. Everyone wanted a piece
of the vehicle of the future (Schaetzl np). The car reached a top speed of c. 45 miles per hour, got c. 13
to 21 miles per gallon of gasoline, and the weight was only 1,200 pounds (The Model T np). Ford
could not believe how big of a hit his car was, and how much success the invention had brought him.
By 1918, the Model T was so popular that half of the people in the United States owned one. The
Model T was sold for $850 the first year of production, but Ford was not at all satisfied with the cost
of the production, and the fact that not everyone could afford to buy the car. Ford had a business
policy in which he was firm to achieve; lower the cost per car and thereby increase the volume of the
sales (Appleby 369). The request of the Model T lead to the need of more production space, so Ford
figured out that one factory simple was not enough. In the early 1910s he decided to open the doors to
his new company in Michigan, the Highland Park plant, the Crystal Palace (Ford s Assembly Line np).
The opening of the new factory also led the opportunity to expand in another direction; taking mass
production to the next level (Schaetzl

How Planetary Differentiation Affected The Layers Of The...
Have you ever wondered what the inside of the earth looks like? How it functions? How it was
formed? Unit 2 has been all about the interior Earth. We learned many things like how planetary
differentiation affected the layers of the earth. How people use seismic data to find the depth of the
layers. And what convection currents from inside the earth, create. We learned about the interior Earth
for Unit 2.
Planetary differentiation happened when the Earth first formed. The formation of this planet generated
heat from gravitational energy and the decay of radioactive elements. Scientists think that earth may
have become so hot that it melted. Denser materials sank toward the center, forming Earths dense, iron
core. Less dense material hardened over time to form Earth s outer layers the crust and mantle.
Planetary differentiation created the layers of the Earth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We learned that in 4th grade. We went more in depth with that this year. There are two types of Crust;
oceanic and continental. Oceanic is thinner and is mostly made of out basalt. Continental crust is
mostly made out of granite. This layer drifts slowly and is solid. The Earth has sub layers. The
lithosphere is part of the crust and uppermost Mantle. Next down is the Asthenosphere, where all the
tectonic plates are. Then the lowest part of the Mantle is called the Mesosphere. The Mantle is semi
solid and has convection currents that move the tectonic plates. It contains more iron than the layer
above. The outer core has convection currents that create the magnetic field. It s the swirly hot iron
that really causes it. This is the only layer that is liquid. The inner core is solid because of the great
pressure on it. It is extremely hot. The deeper you go the hotter it gets and iron increases. Two out of
the four main layers have convection

CRISPR Pathway Analysis
The process in which the CRISPR pathway works contains a few steps that, after assembly of the
RNA and nuclease complex, will occur naturally in the cell. From this point forward, the RNA
sequence that is engineered to bind specifically to a target sequence will be referred to as guide RNA
(gRNA). The assembly of the gRNA and Cas9 endonuclease complex binds to the target gene
sequence and cleaves at a point just downstream of the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM; Figure 1;
Chang et al., 2013) The PAM is simply a sequence recognized by the Cas9 as non self to allow for
cleavage by the endonuclease (Chang et al., 2013). If this were not present, the bacteriophage
sequences incorporated into the host bacterial DNA initially, would be targeted by the bacteria s
CRISPR system for cleavage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These breaks are then repaired by the cell in one of two manners: either utilizing non homologous end
joining or homologous recombination directed repair (Figure 2; Hsu et al., 2014). Non homologous
end joining will cause the two ends of the break to join together without the presence of the cleaved
portion of DNA between them, resulting in a frame shift mutation (Hsu et al., 2014). A frame shift
mutation can be equated to reading a paragraph in a book with a sentence or two missing. The
appropriate proteins will no longer be synthesized for that gene, resulting in inactivation, or what is
referred to as knockout of a gene (Hsu et al., 2014). The second repair mechanism utilizes
homologous recombination, during which the section that was broken can exchange DNA with a
homologous section within the cell to replace the cleaved sequence (Hsu et al., 2014). This is helpful
in genomic manipulation and potential repair of mutations, that otherwise would have led to

the Dunkirk evacuation was presented as a miraculous victory which was achieved through the
resilience and ingenuity of the British spirit. This heavily propagandized viewpoint, although created
initially to maintain homefront moral amidst German successes, would continue to exist into the post
war years and help contribute towards the creation of the myth that Britain, during late 1940 and early
1941, stood as the lone Allied bastion against Nazi Germany. However, in the decades following the
Second World War, historians/many have challenged the contemporary British accounts of Dunkirk by
offering a less romanticized view of the events; thereby challenging the Anglocentric perspective
Dunkirk. [INSERT THESIS STATEMENT HERE] As a evacuation which occurred due to the success
of german troops in the battle of France, the perspectives of Dunkirk in regards to wether it was a

My Experience On My Life
My life peaked when I was around seven years old. My two best friends were in my class, I read at a
third grade level, I spent my time investigating my backyard while watching my mother garden and
climbing trees with my brother. I had it all. Come age eight I was hindered by prescription glasses,
forced to wear pigtails because the Great Lice Outbreak of 08 and to top that nice pile off, none of my
friends were in my class. I can only imagine what I seemed like to others. During that time period one
thing stayed constant my curiosity for the things around me, exploring my garden. I would dig up
different rocks and neatly arrange them in a line, always wondering where they came from. My
curiosity heightened when I went to California and actually experienced an earthquake, a small one
albeit, but an earthquake nonetheless. Now, things have gotten better since second grade, but I ve
never quite achieved the same level of satisfaction in my life as my seven year old self. I have,
however, been able to research and attempt to understand with the way the subterranean world works.
Imagine the Earth s layers as a hard boiled egg: in the very center you have the inner core, which is
like the yolk. Lying roughly 6400 km below the surface, the inner core is composed of iron and nickel.
It s extremely hot and dense, so much so that it takes up roughly 1/3 of the Earth s mass(Earth s
Interior). Next we have the metaphorical egg whites the outer core and the mantle. The outer core

English Language By Chinua Ngugi
II: In this section Ngugi speaks about how the English an imperialistic language that belongs to
Europe dominates the local languages in the post colonial Africa. He asks to the reader that how did
people become to be so feeble towards the claims of their languages on them and so aggressive in
their claims on other languages, particularly the languages of their colonization. It is worth mentioning
the words spoken by Chinua Achebe, is it right that a man should abandon his mother language for
some one else s? It looks like a dreadful betrayal and produces a guilty feeling . Ngugi refers to the
1962 African writer s conference at Makerere University College in Kampala, Uganda: A Conference
of African Writers of English Expression. Excluding writers who wrote in African tongues, it
proceeded to discuss questions of what African literature is or could be, while accepting that it must be
in English. This cruel poisonous paradox is summed up this way: The bullet was the means of the
physical subjugation and language was the means of the spiritual subjugation (9). ... Show more

He contrasts his village lessons via stories in his native tongue, Gikuyu, wherein language was
magical and powerful and musical. Then he speaks of school, wherein he was forced to learn English
and witness as English was used to sort students into a pyramid hierarchy. Even if he the students
score high marks in other subjects, if they fail to get marks in English they were not given promotion
to higher classes.in addition to this, students were punished for speaking in their local languages and
those students who spoke in their local language were humiliated severely. The language of his
education was no longer the language of his culture. Through his experience Ngugi showcases how
English became the official vehicle and the magic formula to colonial elitedom. English was given a

Last Few Days
If you knew you only had a limited amount of time to live, how would you live your last few days?
Many people when they find out the end is near decide to make major changes in their lives.
Everybody copes with death in a different way; some tend to regret how they lived their lives, beings
too careful or worrying too much about what people think about them. Many wish they would have
been able to express their feelings more easily or done things which made them happy. On the Beach
by Nevil Shute is a book in which the spread of radiation will soon end the lives of all living things.
The characters only have a few months left to live, but how they decide to live their last days is up to
them. Each main character in the book represents a method ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While cruising on the U.S.S. Scorpion, the crew makes a quick stop in his hometown. At first, captain
Towers lets him take a look through the periscope, and minutes later, Swain escapes swimming away
to the shore. Captain Towers informs him that if he does not come back immediately, he will not be let
back on the submarine. Swain ignores his comments and keeps on running to explore his hometown.
When the crew sees him again, he is joyfully fishing on a small boat, enjoying his last few days. He
tells them he would rather die right then and there in his hometown than in Australia when the
radiation reaches them. Compared to all other characters, Swain is the first one to end his life early;
instead of waiting until radiation crept up on him, he swam directly into it. All the characters in the
book, knowing they were all going to die soon, still waited until their last days to take the pills that
ended their lives. They were all very hopeful that a miracle might happen, that maybe the radiation
would not kill them. They spent their last days with the ones that meant something to them or doing
crazy things they had not done before. In the end, they all died by choice; instead of letting the
radiation kill them, they took the pills to end their

Personal Narrative-Defining Moment
Ms. Napholz made us write these paragraphs on someone we have memories with. So, I decided to
chose you since we have so many awesome memories together. I know that you will think this is very
lame but I had to chose someone. Hopefully you will enjoy revisiting some of these moments we had
together.
About 5 years ago you were snowmobile racing, and you were doing super good until you crashed.
You were racing with Dalton. I remember it was very cold outside and it was in early January. It was
one of the last races of the night; you went off the edge of the track. The snowmobile went as high as
the light fixtures; it was terrifying. Everyone ran over to you to check and see if you were okay. The
medics arrived and took you in an ambulance to the nearest hospital. The doctors said that you had
broken 5 vertebrates and shattered your tailbone. You were on bed rest for many months but ended up
having a great recovery.
The first maybe 12 years of our lives together you were pretty mean to me. You would make wait 3
feet behind you for the bus, wait to get inside, push me in the snow, and overall just harass me. These
are just a few of the hundreds of ridiculous, cruel things I had to deal with. However, I believe this
made us closer. Now we get along great and I don t know where I would be without you. You ve made
me a stronger person and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, we went inside and you went into Mom and Dad s room. I was sitting on the bed waiting for you
when all of a sudden our front door opened and a random man walked in. Our dogs went berserk and I
ran to you out of fear. We went into the bathroom and locked the door. The mysterious man shook on
the door handle and was trying to get in. We called our parents but they didn t answer. Eventually our
Grandma got ahold of our Dad and he came rushing home. The police showed up and questioned you
and I, however; the man was never

Comparing Jesus Christ In Steinbeck s Jim Casy
Jim Casy, a martyr and leader with a large following, reflects the sacrifices of Jesus Christ for the
downtrodden by uniting the less privileged and rebelling against the religious constrictions of their
time. Jim Casy parallels Jesus Christ in many ways throughout the novel. Steinbeck purposefully gave
Jim Casy the same initials as Jesus Christ in order to signify the link between these two influential
figures. Jim Casy, like Jesus Christ, is consistently willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
When a scuffle ensues between Tom Joad and a police officer in Hooverville, Jim Casey offers take
the blame: Somebody got to take the blame. I got no kids. They ll jus put me in jail, an I ain t doin
nothin but set aroun (266 267). Jim does not want Tom to be arrested because Tom has broken parole,
Jim recognizes that there would be less suffering if he takes the blame, so he does. Jim is watching out
for someone he cares for deeply, and is willing to make a sacrifice for Tom. He would rather be
punished than see another person be punished more than himself. Jim believes that since he s got no
kids, it would be better for him to be in jail as compared to Tom because Tom has a family and is
someone s son. Jim values family and wants to keep the Joad family together and since he does not
have his own family and does not have a present father, Jim believes it would be better for him to be
in jail as opposed to Tom. Jim thinks that his life is less important than some

Argumentative Essay On Embryonic Stem Cells
i.
Stem cells have the potential to develop and multiply into many different cell types in the body. Stem
cells are able to divide throughout life without limit. This causes the stem cells to be able to develop
into another cell type, which means it is specialised cell; to do a more specific function or it may
remain the same. [5] As stem cells divide they have the ability to help to be able to renew or repair
damaged tissue.[3,5]There are two main stem cell, Embryonic Stem Cells and Adult Stem Cells.
[1,2,3] As my research question is about embryonic stem cells, I will discuss embryonic stem cells
specifically. Embryonic stems cells are pluripotent stem cells that are derived from a human embryo
that is four to five days old. An embryo, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[4] Stem cells are able to serves as an internal repair and are able to divide without limit. [5] One of
these three unique properties is their ability to self renew. Stem cells are able to renew themselves
without any limit. The second properties that makes stem cells important is how they have the ability
to differentiate into specialised cells with characteristics and have different functions. The third
important property is that stem cells have a large amount of unspecialised cells, which give rise to
specialised cells. [4]
The potential uses for embryonic stem cells are to be able to improve the understanding of how the
body is developing from a fertilised egg. [8] To try understand how diseases happen and how they
develop throughout the body, such as cancer and birth defects, which are a result from cell division
and the process of differentiation to specialised cells. Other uses for embryonic stem cells is that they
have the potential to be able to create and produce new medical drugs with the ability to be able to
study the stems cells to see how they could be able to treat them.

Erikna Hayasaki Poverty
This Is Your Brain On Poor Response
In Erika Hayasaki s essay This Is Your Brain On Poor she talks about the effects that poverty and
depravity have on the human mind. This is often an overlooked aspect when people study poverty and
it s place in society but, it is incredibly important for helping those affected by poverty. Poverty and
social inequality is an issue that America has been dealing with for as long as we have a nation. While
some argue that poverty has no effect on the mind and mental development of those that grow up poor,
I think Hayasaki s argument that the effects of poverty are very real and detrimental to a person s mind
is much more sensible and realistic when examining the evidence brought with it.
When reading Hayasaki s writing I learned many things about ... Show more content on

that are undoubtedly less than ideal but, this writing has given me a new perspective on poverty and

Indigenous People In Bolivia
Bolivia is a country that has deep, entrenched, systematic racism at the core of its history. Constituting
more than 60 percent of the populace, Bolivia has the largest indigenous population in the Western
Hemisphere. Literally conquered by Spanish conquistadores, this indigenous population has been
marginalized and discriminated against at every turn despite their majority status.
Triggered by the election of South America s first indigenous head of government, in the last decade
landmark changes have taken place that have turned power over to this disenfranchised majority.
While these changes have been far from perfect, they are widely seen throughout South America and
the developing world as a beacon of hope.
Beginning at the country s independence in 1825, the indigenous population was at the bottom end of
an economic system built on serfdom. At the turn of the 20th century reforms were brought about (led
by Canadian Baptists) that led to the abolishment of serfdom. Nonetheless the indigenous peoples
were not granted any rights politically or humanly. The right to vote was an afterthought to the right to
be protected under the law or to own property. Until the 1950s only people of Spanish descent were
allowed in the plaza in front of the Presidential Palace much less in the halls of government buildings.
Beginning with the National Revolution in 1952, indigenous peoples in Bolivia were slowly granted
rights and theoretical equality under the law. The

Fighting The Fire Syndrome
Fighting the Fire Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is the most painful disease known to
medical science. Greater awareness of CRPS will help people who get misdiagnosed or not diagnosed
soon enough to go into recovery before symptoms become permanent. Learning what CRPS is will
help people learn to live with it while doctors learn how to treat it. In order to help spread awareness
about CRPS first people need to know what it is. It was first described by a doctor treating soldiers
with cannonball injuries in the Civil War, the syndrome has gone by many names over the past 150
years: Causalgia in soldiers, reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome in civilians, and today CRPS
(Lynn Everly). CRPS happens when there is an injury to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Food and Drug Administration specifically for CRPS. There are many different ways to treat CRPS
but none of the them work for all patients. All known treatments do not completely get rid of the pain
the treatments simply lessen the pain. Since there is not a treatment that works for everyone or that
eliminates all of the pain CRPS is considered an incurable disease. Common medications used for
CRPS are steroids, blood pressure medication, antidepressants, corticosteroids, seizure medication, or
opioids. Physical and occupational therapy are used to keep strength and mobility in the affected
limb(s). It is important to keep the affected limb(s) moving because CRPS thrives on immobility. The
best thing that a person can do for CRPS is to use the affected area as much as possible. Counseling is
used help combat the emotional effects of CRPS. Spinal cord stimulation is a typical treatment. This
happens by doctors surgically implanting electrodes near the spinal cord to stop the chronic pain
signals from reaching the brain. Topical anesthetic creams are made to put on the skin of the infected
area so that the treatment absorbs into the skin where it is needed. Surgical sympathectomy is used as
well but there is much controversy over this procedure where doctors surgically destroy some of the
nerves in the affected area. Some patients and doctors believe that surgical sympathectomy only
makes CRPS

1.1 Explain The Difficulties Of Using English Language
Transcriptional
Again using the standards of a year 6 pupil within national curriculum, it shows that in relation to
transcriptional areas it is clear that this child is quite confident with their spelling and handwriting.
There are more strengths than weaknesses. This child has the ability to spell words with a silent letter,
such as, like and would. Their ability to use homophones is clearly shown especially in words like
would, were, look and wear. However, it was noticed that this child struggled with the homophone
their and there, due to incorrectly using this in their writing e.g. this argument is about if their should
be rather than using there. In their writing only one spelling mistake was noticed, which was about,
incorrectly spelt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parts of the child s writing, such as, the grammar used could be overcome by teaching this as a whole
class, by year 6 children should write plausible sentences that make sense. Therefore, modelling to the
whole class a sentence which isn t clear and asking them to discuss why it is incorrect and what they
could do to improve this is a way to get children actively thinking and guiding each other s learning or
even allowing the child to proof read their work again to ensure it makes sense in their head before
carrying out the previous activity. To help up level punctuation, it would be useful to model a sentence
with punctuation including question marks, semi colons, dashes etc. and allow the child to use one of
their sentences, in order to up level that by using a variety of punctuation that is set at a year 6
standard within the national curriculum. The child seems to be quite confident with transcriptional
areas, apart from the few areas mentioned therefore to help with those particular issues, as a teacher it
would be an idea to just mark these areas or highlight them to make it clear that they are incorrect.
After the child has looked at the marking, talk it through with them to ensure they have a clear
understanding of how they went wrong and how to fix it. Allowing the use of a thesaurus and
dictionary will enable the child to use a bigger range of vocabulary or even allowing them to use
words from the national curriculum for year 6 to see if they could include some of these in their
writing, this will be a good way to influence a higher level piece of writing. After analysing this child
s piece of work and going through how they could improve, an idea would be to give the child another
writing frame which they

  • 2. Theme Of The Count Of Monte Cristo Theme Analysis The Count of Monte Cristo, the romantic novel which is written by Alexandre Dumas, tells a story about that the protagonist designs an elaborate revenge for his enemies after he escapes from the prison since they are the people who frame him by planning the conspiracy. This novel uses the experience of Edmond to claim its theme that people who only know how to be justice and kind could not have enough power to defend themselves unless they also know how to think rigorously and deal with the emergencies calmly. First of all, the author designs the plot of revenge after Edmond already becomes the count of Monte Cristo in order to tell the audience that people need to know how to catch the proper opportunities by analyzing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this novel, the author depicts the scene that Edmond is learning from Faria for every field in the prison which he does not believe he could leave the jail one day. Dantes possessed a prodigious memory, combined with an astonishing quickness and readiness of conception; the mathematical turn of his mind rendered him apt at all kinds of calculation (chapter 17) is the brief description of the circumstance that Edmond is learning from Faria. Edmond considers that he could never use the concept of math or the method of calculation. The original impetus of studying the science and languages is that he does not want to be a person who basicly knows nothing and barely has nothing inside his soul. However, the knowledges that he learned in that two more years make him have ability to plan an elaborate revenge towards his enemies after he actually escapes the jail successfully. The experience of the protagonist demonstrates that it is necessary for the people continue to enrich themselves no matter when or where because people could not make the opportunities play a considerable value if they are lacking of the knowledges. Therefore, people should insist to accumulate their knowledge base to defend themselves when the identity of representative of justice and kindness does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The First Year Of Life Infancy is defined as the period from birth to 12 months of age (Kyle, 2008). Growth and development changes which occur in the first year of life are numerous and dramatic (Kyle, 2008). The first year of life is an extraordinary and captivating time in the human lifespan (Kyle, 2008). Infants reveal vast amounts of learning in the psychosocial and cognitive, language and communication, and social/emotional domains (Kyle, 2008). The average weight of a newborn is 7lb. 8oz. (Kyle, 2008). Most infants double their birth weight by the time they are 4 to 6 months, weighing an average of 16.5 lbs. (Kyle, 2008). The average height in most newborns is 19 to 21 inches long at birth, however the first 6 months; length increases by 1 inch per month (Kyle, 2008). On average, the first teeth begin to erupt between the ages of 6 to 8 months (Kyle, 2008). The normal development for a 6 month infant includes appropriate motor development such as sensory and gross motor (Kyle, 2008). A newborn can see objects from about 8 inches away (Kyle, 2008). Infant begin to develop rapidly, by the time they are 6 months they have developed depth perception, which is the ability to judge if objects are nearer or farther away than other objects (Kyle, 2008). • 4. Essay On Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire In the 19th and 20th centuries, factories were very unsafe places to work, yet they were where most people found jobs. Factories had accidents all of the time, but the most notable of the tragedies is the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. The results of this event and many other factory accidents in the late 19th and early 20th centuries led to better overall conditions for workers, especially immigrant workers. In the case of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, employees were forced to work under horrible conditions. Many times, the employers abused their workers by setting clocks in the factory backwards which forced their workers to unknowingly work longer shifts for the same amount of pay. Also, most factory buildings in this time were highly unsafe, especially the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911 was the case of 146 deaths and 71 injuries. These numbers are so high primarily because of how dangerous the building was to work in. Josephine Cammarata was a 17 year old Catholic girl who had lived in the United States for only 2 years. Josephine was supposed to be married the following Sunday to the love of her life, but their love was stolen prematurely. Jennie Franco was born in America exactly 16 years before the fire. • 5. Essay on Determination Some people believe that talent and a winning attitude are all you need in order to succeed in your endeavors, but a winning attitude means having determination, which many people lack. As seen on wisdomforthesoul.org, Real leaders are ordinary people with extraordinary determination. Determination is an important factor in the overall success or failure of a person s efforts. Unfortunately, determination is not something that comes easy to the majority of people. To be truly determined, a person must first be passionate about what they re doing. Passion, however, is only the first step towards resolution and determination. One must have a clear goal in mind, and be willing to do anything to achieve said goal. Once they have set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (www.merriam webster.com) This is synonymous with my personal definition of determination. When the end is decided upon, there is no reason or desire to change said goal. A person under the influence of determination is comparable to a train. The train will not change its direction, as it cannot, and no matter what, the train will continue along the tracks until it either reaches its destination, or is stopped by the conductor. For as an example, my plan after high school is to go to college, and then move into the professional world. When confronted about possibly wanting to join the military, my answer is absolutely not. Going to college right after high school has always been my mindset, and there s no way my determination will let that change. I am the metaphorical train, because my destination is set, and there s no chance for me to adjust my direction. I will not stray from my goal, because it would mean wrecking myself and all those involved in my endeavors. There will be mountains in front of me, and people I may have to run over to reach my goal, but when one s mind is set, they will not waver, and neither will I. Another dictionary defines determination as firmness of purpose (thefreedictionary.com). When one is determined, they are ready for what life throws at them, because no matter how obscure the path may be, they always have a clear view of their final destination. • 6. Columbine Quote Analysis Why They Did It While reading Columbine, the only thing readers can ask themselves is, Why did they do this? The only thing a reader can do is make his/her assumption based off of the facts given throughout the book as it is not clearly stated. By reading the book, it is very easy to assume that both Eric and Dylan were depressed and did not feel like they were treated fairly. Eric was the more violent of the two, although both had significant dealings with the shootings taken place. Their illnesses brought them together, making them feel as if they clicked or understood each other more than anyone else. Dylan is very easily identified as the most depressed of the two. In chapter thirty five, Dylan stated just how depressed he was. I get more depressed with each day, he complained. Why did friends keep deserting him? They did not, actually, but Dylan perceived it that way. He fretted about Eric dumping him, too. Wanna die, he repeated. (page 198) Dylan felt as if he was all alone and death equaled freedom to him now. Dylan was not worried about anyone but himself and how he felt. • 9. The Portrayal Analysis Of Rosalind s As You Like It After considering all the definitions available from The Oxford English Dictionary Online of the word giddy chosen from the passage, As You Like It Act 3 Scene 3, lines 281 328, I had concluded that Definition 3 A deemed to be the most relevant to the passage. The description of attributes and actions and elated to thoughtlessness {OED online, 2017) seems rather fitting to the character of Rosalind, and almost key, for Rosalind a petite but noble, wise woman, with a profound knowledge of all the intricacies of the heart, and indeed how to manipulate these emotions and stir within others foolishness. Danson Brown suggests All Rosalind s speeches should be played giddily as she is stylistically varied he continues that Rosalind s adopts registers that change in mood from teasing to holiday humour (Danson Brown, 2015 p.56) However the quote I thank God I am not a woman, to be touched with so many giddy offences as he hath generally taxed their whole sex withal. (Rosalind in As You Like It, 3.2.335 38) in itself is quite giddy light headed, frivolous, flighty (OED online, 2017) as there is a verbal irony it involves a discrepancy between what is said and what is really meant, as in its crude form, sarcasm. • 10. The Crucible Summary The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller in 1953, is a fictional story based on historical facts of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. Originally a hit Broadway play, The Crucible was later adapted into film format. Miller s inspiration for The Crucible came from a brief anti Communist movement led by Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin during the Cold War in the 1950s. During this time, the American government conducted their own version of a witch hunt by illegally investigating American citizens suspected of being Soviet sympathizers. Miller was inspired to write The Crucible after his own arrest and after being one of many to be blacklisted in Hollywood. These practices should be based on a teacher s pedagogical perspectives. This system was based on a behavioural perspective, whereby expectations were set and behavioural or academic compliance was rewarded. This method is most similar to the assertive discipline outline by Lyons et al. (2014). The use of this token reinforcement system is recommended for motivating disinterested students, encourage students with poor academic outcomes, or to deal with a class with challenging behaviours (Woolfolk Margetts, 2013). In this case, the token system may have been appropriate because it also functioned as social reinforcement, which is consistent with cognitive behavioural theory (Lyons et al., 2014). Whereby, students felt social pressure to conform to the expectations of the teacher and were reminded by peers when they were not conforming. The class code of conduct also reflects an assertive discipline approach with one behavioural descrpitor stating, listen and follow instructions . However, unlike the code of conduct advocated by Lyons et al. (2014), this code of conduct did not articulate a values statement and principles. Instead, only behavioural descriptors were listed. Having the behavioural descriptors without the principles and values statement detaches it from its purpose. Therefore, why students had to listen and follow instructions was not clearly explained. 3.4 Logical consequences In the classroom, the teacher used logical consequences which are based on Goal Centered Theory. • 13. The Theories Of The Theory Of Evolution Eighty seven percent of American scientists believe that a series of random chemical and biological events produced mankind. However, the philosophical theory of evolution has no solid evidence, whereas creation can be proven. Science is supposed to be based on observation, right? The best theories satisfy the test of experimentation. No one can test if evolution happened. Non one can prove that evolution actually happened. But what evidence can we place against evolution? In 1859, Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species, introducing the theory of evolution. One hundred and fifty six years later, scientists still accept this senseless philosophy. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay states, Our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who are evolutionized out of some primordial soup (Snyder). Schools worldwide have presented exactly this to the young, impressionable minds of your future doctors, engineers, scientists, and presidents. This type of legislation provides a framework whereas an application can be made to further detain a prisoner who is due to release as they are deemed to be an unacceptable risk of further offending and their further detention will protect the community (Field, 2003). Whilst it is generally accepted that the community broadly welcomes such imposing and punitive legislation, it is imperative that our disgust for these offences/offenders does not prevent us from finding the injustice on an ethical and moral basis (Wortley and Smallbone, 2003). One of the fundamental principles of the Criminal Law System is the presumption of innocence until proven guilty (McSherry, 2003). By enacting punitive legislation such as the examples given above, it has been said that it is removing this Common law right from the individual (Greig, 1995). It has also been said that it creates an exception to the general principle of law that no person shall be imprisoned unless a court comprised of Judge/Jury is convinced, beyond reasonable doubt that the person committed a very serious offence. Thereby effectively allowing people to be detained without the burden of proving guilt (Keon Cohen, 1992). • 17. Application Of Delone Mclean s Information System ABSTRACT The study was conducted to validate the application of DeLone McLean s Information System (IS) success model (2003) in a local setup in Kenya and to evaluate the success of a enterprise resource planning (ERP) system from a user perspective. It was carried out at Coffee Research Foundation (CRF) in Kenya. A number of past studies to measure the success of information systems in different settings were reviewed leading to the choice and use of the updated DeLone McLean IS success model in this study. The research involved the use of questionnaires as well as interviews and focus group discussion (FGD). A number of hypotheses were tested and the results indicated that the updated DeLone McLean s IS success model was valid as a useful model for this particular study. The study also indicated that the variables system quality, information quality, and service quality stood out as critical determinants of how information and communication technology systems can be used to improve organizational performance. • 18. Modernism Vs Imperialism Modernization has always been the objective for growing colonies and empires. The current generation of today s time still aims to modernize and grow as a nation. However, the past holds many mistakes and misconceptions about how the world can continue to modernize given specific circumstances and factors. Today, historians, citizens and many others look over these past events and learn from the complications made from previous leaders. One great example of a horrific imperial occurrence is portrayed by King Leopold II of Belgium. Within his time of ruling he displayed manipulation, ignorance and gruesome consequences of corruption. He took the opportunity to create prosperity out of the Congo Free State and turned it cold with unethical dishonesty, brutality and corrupt power. With all of his planning going to waste, King Leopold showed all of history how combining imperialism with modernity can turn to the absolute worst for humanity. To begin, imperialism had always been a long term system of governing. Empires were built, colonies were created, and growth occurred to make today s world. It was always seen that the king of an empire knew what was best for his nation. He was given the power to make impacting decisions and lead his empire to success. However, many kings were found corrupted and abused their powers for their own benefit. If a marriage fails, the first concern is, did the wife satisfy her man in their marriage. • 32. Moral Values In Beowulf Ever since a young age, children have been told stories with a clear moral lesson. These lessons are used explicitly to show basic principles that a growing mind needs. However, as one ages the morals become less obvious, but they remain just as influential. Examples of these less direct morals are seen by young adults in academic analyzation and in their personal and social lives through popular movies or music. Marvel s Spider Man: Homecoming and Anglo Saxon poem, Beowulf, exist to help readers understand a variety of moral principles needed to become a respectable citizen and a hero. The writers of the screenplay and epic portray the main character as a tragic hero to show audience that one may have the confidence to attempt a task, but they must be reasonable enough when they are not capable to do so. In the film, Spider Man/Peter Parker takes on crimes that he thinks he is ready for, but is not trained enough to do so. When he is not able to complete the task, his mistake leads to almost costing the lives of thousands of people and him losing his suit. (Spider Man: Homecoming). The screenplay writers use this scene to show how our hero relied on the wrong factors and did not take in account that he was not ready to complete his goal, representing society s tendency to eagerly jump at opportunities that they are not yet ready for. In the epic, Beowulf , the author writes, ... Beowulf rose, still brave, still strong, and with his shield at his side, and a mail shirt on his breast, strode calmly, confidently, toward the tower... (Lines 511 513). The author wrote this quote to emphasize to readers how confident Beowulf was upon entering this battle despite his older age. This event causing his untimely death gives the impression to the audience that going into a situation unprepared sometimes leads to irreversible outcome. In addition to encouraging audience members to understand their limits, the two works also show the importance of asking for help. The main characters in both plots are given opportunities to achieve their goals by already respected superiors, proving to the audience that it is okay to require help. The first Model T to ever be produced was in a factory on Piquette Avenue in Detroit, but the factory was later moved to Highland Park plant due to the start of mass production of the car. Everyone wanted the easily operated, easily maintained, and easily manageable car on the rough roads. Everyone wanted a piece of the vehicle of the future (Schaetzl np). The car reached a top speed of c. 45 miles per hour, got c. 13 to 21 miles per gallon of gasoline, and the weight was only 1,200 pounds (The Model T np). Ford could not believe how big of a hit his car was, and how much success the invention had brought him. By 1918, the Model T was so popular that half of the people in the United States owned one. The Model T was sold for $850 the first year of production, but Ford was not at all satisfied with the cost of the production, and the fact that not everyone could afford to buy the car. Ford had a business policy in which he was firm to achieve; lower the cost per car and thereby increase the volume of the sales (Appleby 369). In particular, one game in the league s season opener exemplifies it. Carolina Panthers superstar quarterback and reigning Most Valuable Player Cam Newton was illegally hit with multiple helmet to helmet collisions. There was no penalties given as he continued the game. After public scrutiny, the league and its player union announced they will each examine the concussion protocol. It is good to see the NFL take steps to better protect its players, but critics say it is long overdue. And while they are fair in that assessment, even they have to agree that the league s stances on concussions and policies has significantly changed in the last decade. • 39. CRISPR Pathway Analysis The process in which the CRISPR pathway works contains a few steps that, after assembly of the RNA and nuclease complex, will occur naturally in the cell. From this point forward, the RNA sequence that is engineered to bind specifically to a target sequence will be referred to as guide RNA (gRNA). The assembly of the gRNA and Cas9 endonuclease complex binds to the target gene sequence and cleaves at a point just downstream of the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM; Figure 1; Chang et al., 2013) The PAM is simply a sequence recognized by the Cas9 as non self to allow for cleavage by the endonuclease (Chang et al., 2013). If this were not present, the bacteriophage sequences incorporated into the host bacterial DNA initially, would be targeted by the bacteria s CRISPR system for cleavage. ... These breaks are then repaired by the cell in one of two manners: either utilizing non homologous end joining or homologous recombination directed repair (Figure 2; Hsu et al., 2014). Non homologous end joining will cause the two ends of the break to join together without the presence of the cleaved portion of DNA between them, resulting in a frame shift mutation (Hsu et al., 2014). A frame shift mutation can be equated to reading a paragraph in a book with a sentence or two missing. The appropriate proteins will no longer be synthesized for that gene, resulting in inactivation, or what is referred to as knockout of a gene (Hsu et al., 2014). The second repair mechanism utilizes homologous recombination, during which the section that was broken can exchange DNA with a homologous section within the cell to replace the cleaved sequence (Hsu et al., 2014). This is helpful in genomic manipulation and potential repair of mutations, that otherwise would have led to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the possibility of a breakout impossible, the defeated armies were eventually evacuated to the British Isles during Operation Dynamo. While the withdrawal of British Forces from Continental Europe marked a military defeat of the BEF, news media surrounding the event showed a story opposite to this. Rather, the Dunkirk evacuation was presented as a miraculous victory which was achieved through the resilience and ingenuity of the British spirit. This heavily propagandized viewpoint, although created initially to maintain homefront moral amidst German successes, would continue to exist into the post war years and help contribute towards the creation of the myth that Britain, during late 1940 and early 1941, stood as the lone Allied bastion against Nazi Germany. However, in the decades following the Second World War, historians/many have challenged the contemporary British accounts of Dunkirk by offering a less romanticized view of the events; thereby challenging the Anglocentric perspective Dunkirk. English Language By Chinua Ngugi II: In this section Ngugi speaks about how the English an imperialistic language that belongs to Europe dominates the local languages in the post colonial Africa. He asks to the reader that how did people become to be so feeble towards the claims of their languages on them and so aggressive in their claims on other languages, particularly the languages of their colonization. It is worth mentioning the words spoken by Chinua Achebe, is it right that a man should abandon his mother language for some one else s? It looks like a dreadful betrayal and produces a guilty feeling . Ngugi refers to the 1962 African writer s conference at Makerere University College in Kampala, Uganda: A Conference of African Writers of English Expression. Excluding writers who wrote in African tongues, it proceeded to discuss questions of what African literature is or could be, while accepting that it must be in English. This cruel poisonous paradox is summed up this way: The bullet was the means of the physical subjugation and language was the means of the spiritual subjugation (9). ... The doctors said that you had broken 5 vertebrates and shattered your tailbone. You were on bed rest for many months but ended up having a great recovery. Stem cells are able to divide throughout life without limit. This causes the stem cells to be able to develop into another cell type, which means it is specialised cell; to do a more specific function or it may remain the same. Constituting more than 60 percent of the populace, Bolivia has the largest indigenous population in the Western Hemisphere. Literally conquered by Spanish conquistadores, this indigenous population has been marginalized and discriminated against at every turn despite their majority status. Triggered by the election of South America s first indigenous head of government, in the last decade landmark changes have taken place that have turned power over to this disenfranchised majority. While these changes have been far from perfect, they are widely seen throughout South America and the developing world as a beacon of hope. Beginning at the country s independence in 1825, the indigenous population was at the bottom end of an economic system built on serfdom. At the turn of the 20th century reforms were brought about (led by Canadian Baptists) that led to the abolishment of serfdom. Nonetheless the indigenous peoples were not granted any rights politically or humanly. The right to vote was an afterthought to the right to be protected under the law or to own property. Until the 1950s only people of Spanish descent were allowed in the plaza in front of the Presidential Palace much less in the halls of government buildings. Beginning with the National Revolution in 1952, indigenous peoples in Bolivia were slowly granted rights and theoretical equality under the law. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Parts of the child s writing, such as, the grammar used could be overcome by teaching this as a whole class, by year 6 children should write plausible sentences that make sense. Therefore, modelling to the whole class a sentence which isn t clear and asking them to discuss why it is incorrect and what they could do to improve this is a way to get children actively thinking and guiding each other s learning or even allowing the child to proof read their work again to ensure it makes sense in their head before carrying out the previous activity. To help up level punctuation, it would be useful to model a sentence with punctuation including question marks, semi colons, dashes etc. and allow the child to use one of their sentences, in order to up level that by using a variety of punctuation that is set at a year 6 standard within the national curriculum. The child seems to be quite confident with transcriptional areas, apart from the few areas mentioned therefore to help with those particular issues, as a teacher it would be an idea to just mark these areas or highlight them to make it clear that they are incorrect. After the child has looked at the marking, talk it through with them to ensure they have a clear understanding of how they went wrong and how to fix it. Allowing the use of a thesaurus and dictionary will enable the child to use a bigger range of vocabulary or even allowing them to use words from the national curriculum for year 6 to see if they could include some of these in their writing, this will be a good way to influence a higher level piece of writing.
