The present continuous tense is used to: 1) Describe an action that is happening at the moment of speaking or an action happening over a period of time that includes the present. 2) Describe an action or event that will happen in the future but has already been planned. 3) Describe a temporary situation or condition. 4) With words like 'always' or 'constantly', to emphasize a continuous series of repeated actions. Some verbs like those expressing opinions, mental states, emotions or measurements are not typically used in the present continuous tense.

El present continuous s’utilitza:
• Per a descriure una acció que està passant en el moment de parlar e.g.
You are using the Internet. You are studying English grammar.
• Per a descriue una acció que està passant en un més ampli espai de
temps que inclou el present, ex.
Are you still working for the same company? More and more people
are becoming vegetarian.
• Per a descriure una acció o aconteixement que succeirà al futur, pero
que ja ha estat planejada o preparada ex. We're going on holiday
tomorrow. I'm meeting my boyfriend tonight. Are they visiting you next
winter?
• Per a descriure un aconteixement o situació temporal ex. He usually
plays the drums, but he's playing bass guitar tonight. The weather
forecast was good, but it's raining at the moment.
• Amb 'always, forever, constantly', per a descriure i recalcar una serie
continua de accions repetides ex. Harry and Sally are always arguing!
You're forever complaining about your mother-in-law!
