Prelim Task Evaluation
 How did I find getting ideas- easy hard?
 How was scripting and story boarding?
 Filming did anything go wrong? What went right?
 Editing how was it? Easy hard? What was learnt?
 If repeated what would you change
- I watched a few of the previous preliminary task videos on the school
YouTube which have me inspiration for my video. I knew I wanted to do a
serious film between a boyfriend and a girlfriend so I thought of all the
different reasons why they may argue and worked on it from there. I
wanted to base my video on an argument and I had wanted to do this from
the beginning and my ideas didn’t change. I had written the script before
filming and I gave it to the actors to say. After a small amount of
improvisation the script was followedmy majority. My story board was a
quite difficult as I didn’t know where I was going to be filming it or what to
draw. I drew the storyboard after I had filmed which I know I shouldn’t
have done but it was the easiest thing to do. During filming there were a
few filming errors but they were easily overcome as the camera was too
dark. I didn’t use these clips as I sorted the camera out and filmed the clips
again. There was also a few times where the actors laughed so I had to edit
those parts out. Besides that the filming was fine and it went right. With
the editing I had to find the right music and make a few cuts of the actors
before they started. The music was tricky to find as I had to find a suitable
song, after this the volume had to be edited so that the talking of the
actors wasn’t drowned out by the music. If I repeated this task I would
make sure I do the story board first and make sure that the script is
followedword for word. I would also make the music a tiny bit quieter as I
found it too loud and that you couldn’t always hear the actors. I thought
my actors worked well and that they set a good atmosphere for my film. I
would use the same actors but maybe a different setting. We did a class
evaluation and the feedback was positive and that I need work on the
sound. This is because the music is slightly too loud and it would be better
if the music was quieter so you canhear the actors better. I could also
make the script a bit longer so the film is longer.
