Pregnancy lasts about nine months as the embryo implants in the uterus and develops into a fetus. During this time, all the baby's organs form, they grow in size and weight, their bones harden, and they begin moving and practicing breathing. By the end of the nine months, the baby is ready to be born, weighing around 3.5 kilograms and measuring 50 centimeters long.
