This study aimed to identify how the work environment affects the medication practices of staff nurses at a tertiary care hospital in the Philippines. The researcher conducted a descriptive study using a questionnaire to collect data from 143 staff nurses on their demographics, work environment, medication practices, and problems experienced. The study found that interruptions during medication administration were common. It recommended reducing distractions during medication rounds, providing training to nurses on safe practices, and utilizing clinical pharmacists to improve communication between nurses and doctors. Establishing a reporting system and conducting further analysis on relationships between variables could help quantify the impact of work environment on medication errors.
