Media Acts And Its Impact On Society
In our society today, media acts as an integral factor in creating and undoing social bonds, as well
as communicating topics which enable social transformation. It is generally considered that
political and economic subjects are rational and thus are treated as men s issues , in comparison to
social and cultural themes expressed as sensitive and accordingly correlated with femininity
(Stevenson 1995). Although this is open to much criticism in terms of genderinequality, it is
undoubtable that gender equality is progressing. Women have enrolled into conventionally male
dominated work places, reflecting the general consensus that women achieve better at school. Also,
men have proceeded into normally female dominated areas such as... Show more content on

Over the course of the 40 years it was found that in both newspapers was an evident gender bias,
which has gradually overcome as new media genres have developed (Stanley, 2012). In the non
elite paper women are hardly pictured, and in the elite magazine women show up just as often as
men (Stanley, 2012). The audience of both papers consists of approximately 50% women and 50%
men (Stanley, 2012). However, mirroring the diversity between elite and non elite newspapers, the
typical reader of the New York Timeshas more formal education than is the case for the Daily
News (Daily News, 2012) (News York Times, 2012). Stanley states that the article addresses a
myriad of key questions. Firstly, the progress of women s appearance in newspapers today is
explored in comparison to fifty years ago. Secondly, the location of where women are presented
within the newspaper is of concern. The article then explores whether these locations are of
similarity within elite and non elite newspapers or whether they are different.
An array of theoretical perspectives are provided, which are later used to justify and criticise
findings. The first is an approach that the content within media is a parallel of realism; an increased
number of women in society results in photography being progressively occupied by women. This
is then followed by a supposition that the constitution of cultural presence in the media is
influenced by cultural categories of editors

Chad Handyman Services Case
After examining the different business formats that are available, it has been decided to stay
with the limited liability partnership is the most prudent business organization choice. Although
the company has added additional employees it will not change its organization title. This
decision is based on the liability clause that will limit losses due to faulty workmanship, and the
taxation laws regarding LLCs, by having a favorable tax code. While performing duties as a
business invitee, a client s pet was uncontrolled on the homeowner s premises and caused Dad

The Constitutional Basis Of Personal Jurisdiction
Jurisdiction Personal jurisdiction refers to the ability of a court to exercise its power over a
particular defendant or item of property. Personal jurisdiction may be categorized as in personam,
in rem, or quasi in rem. The primary restraints on a court s power to exercise personal jurisdiction
are found in the United StatesConstitution, state statutes, and case law. The Constitutional basis for
personal jurisdictioncomes from the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. The statutory basis
comes from most states adopting what is called a long arm statute that states the limits of personal
jurisdictionthat a state has over the defendant. Most long arm statutes, including CA, state that their
personal jurisdiction may be exercised up to the limits of the constitution. There are two types of
personal jurisdiction: specific jurisdiction and general jurisdiction. A court will have specific
jurisdiction when the activities that gave rise to the case happened in the forum state and general
jurisdiction occurs when the activities that gave rise were unrelated to the forum state. Specific
jurisdiction is easier to find than general jurisdiction. Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714 (1878)
established four ways to attain general jurisdiction: 1) the defendant s presence in the forum state,
including corporations, 2) if the defendant is a domicile of the forum state, 3) if the defendant
consented to being sued in the forum state, and 4) Quasi in Rem (the suit of the thing), where

Essay on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion
Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) utilizes the
natural temperature difference in tropical regions to generate electricity. The idea of using the
ocean to generate electricity was proposed by a French physicist by the name of Jacques Arsene
d Arsonval in 1881. Georges Cluade who was one of d Arsonval students, built the first OTEC
power plant in Cuba. Cluade also built a second power plant in 1935 on a 10,000 ton cargo ship
which was moored off the coast of Brazil. Unfortunate events with weather and waves caused both
facilities to be destroyed before either could be net generators. The United States became interested
in OTEC technology in 1974 and built the Natural EnergyLaboratory of Hawaii Authority... Show

The steam then boils the low point boiling fluid, which drives the turbine to produce electricity. The
hybrid combined the vacuum portion of the open cycle system and uses the low point boiling fluid
like the closed cycle system. Unfortunately, there is no mass energy production for the Ocean
Thermal Energy Conversion but there has been a successful attempt in 1979, when Lockheed
Martin successfully built and operated over a three month period a net power mini OTEC
system which generated 50 kilowatts of net power off the Big Island of Hawaii. But the United
States is not the only country who is invested into OTEC systems, Japan has currently a closed
system OTEC plant that has generated 31.5 kilowatts of power during tests. The positives of the
OTEC system is monumental. Even if one tenth of one percent of the solar energy trapped by
the oceans could be converted into electricity, It would generate twenty times the amount of
electricity the United States use everyday. It could easily supply all the energy we wanted, said
Terry Penney, a lab program manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden,
Colo. The process is very low efficiency, just 2 or 3 or 4 percent, but all that energy s free. (qtd. in
charles. The Energy Debates: Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. LiveScience. TechMedia
Network, 12 Dec. 2008. Web. 03 Feb. 2014.) Unlike Solar and Wind alternative energy, OTEC can

Learning A Second Language Is Important Today
Learning a second language is important in America today. Just going to the grocery store there is
chatter of different languages being spoken. In any occupation it is beneficial to know a foreign
language to be better efficient on workforce tasks. Students go to school with peers who make up a
global classroom. Children have a natural curiosity and excitement to speak a foreign languageand
to learn about new cultures. It challenges and helps develop the growing brain to be able to
problem solve more adequately. Elementary school students should learn a second languagebecause
it helps them understand other cultures and become good critical thinkers, learn language skills,
and gain confidence with communication. Development of a child s brain is at its prime, and
neuron growth explodes in Elementary school into Middle schoolage. The abundance of the
neurons will not last and a child s brain has not seen this much growth since toddler years. With
this brain growth, skills become more automatic and specialized for the student. In early
Elementary years as the brain matures with fibers it is helping them form memories, and the
connection of new learning to previous learning is easier. Teaching a second language at this time
is a great opportunity for the advantage of the brain, which is ready to learn and structure the
environment so the child can learn.
Children live in a global society, which helps them have a natural curiosity about the world, and
how it works. Learning

needs leaders to guide us to a higher place in society in the 2nd millennium. But first the black
community need to understand what a true leader is and how to embrace a true leader. Also
The Black community has to understand what previous leaders have done for us in the past to
continue to push the envelope further for us to have opportunities we have now. 2015 is the
year we try to get a council of new leaders to help the black community in areas we are lacking due

The civil right movement had a lot of influential and brilliant leaders from this time like Martin
Luther King, Malcolm X, Rosa Park, Muhammad Ali, Web Dubois, and The Black Panther
Party. The main game changer were Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and The Black Panther
Party. Martin Luther king (MLK) was a minister, humanitarian, and activist is considered to be
the leader of the civil movement. MLK has also had a lot accomplishments, he won a Nobel peace
prize at the age of 35 in 1964. He was also given fifty honorary degrees from various colleges.
Malcolm X was an American Muslin minister and a human right activist, who was more with the
ideal of violence. While he was in prison he read a series of books which could he learned him a
vary of degrees from the top school in America. MLK had a way of getting black people involved
his in risky and threating marches with no violence. Cops would do brutal act to stop these
powerful marches like spray our people with water hoses, drenching their cloths and belittling them.
MLK leadership was proven when he led one of his most powerful marches in Montgomery,
Alabama in 1955 when he fought for Rosa Parks right; Rosa Parks was asked by a white man to

spray by hoses and arrested proven his leadership to the community. Malcolm X was strong leader
he prove this once he became leader of the Nation of Islam. In the 1960 he would defense blacks as
a whole when he had debate with whites about politics in the black community, he would answer
there question with witty answers which many considered arrogant. He led the Civil Right

Understanding Migraine Headaches
A migraine is a common, chronic, and debilitating neurovascular disorder. It is characterized by
attacks of serve headache along with autonomic nervous system dysfunction and some patients an
aura neurological symptom (Goadsby, Lipton, Ferrari, 2002). There are two types of migraines
classical migraineand common migraine. Classical migraine is one that either preceded or
accompanied by focal neurological symptoms which are generally visual, this occurs in 15% of
patients and is referred to migraine with aura(Goadsby, Lipton, Ferrari, 2002). Common Migraine
is one that has episodes of head pain that are severe and throbbing and can last 4 to 72 hours. These
are migraines without aura and are usually associated with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light,
sound or movement (Sorge et al., 1988). When diagnosed with frequent migraine attacks, doctors
try to understand what the cause of a subject s migraines are which can be due to many variables
such as stress, sleep deprivation or menstruation.
Migraine attacks start at any age but they peak in the early to mid adolescence age. Migraines
rates were observed for a year and the results showed the prevalence of migraines being 11%
overall, 6% among men and 15 18% in women(Stewart WF, Lipton RB, Celentano DD, Reed ML,
1992). Although prevalence of migraine is similar in preadolescent boys and girls, when the onset
of the menstrual cycle occurs, it changes. After onset migraine attacks are two to three times higher

Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis
Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify
examples of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric
Company has, as well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of
these. The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln ElectricCompany is that they obviously
have a strong culturethat all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter,
Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee
behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric
Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The
ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most
prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an
open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure
section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of
resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also
mentions that, Lincoln has never had a formal organization chart... [but] position titles and
traditional flows of authority do imply something of an organizational structure... [thus determining]

The African American Resident Community
Introduction
As has been described, research at on the Levi Jordan Plantation has focused on the African
American resident community, and has revealed considerable information about the specialized
crafts that were practiced by members of this community. Evidence indicates that the use of these
crafts went beyond daily subsistence needs to include ritual use, and demonstrates multi
dimensional patterns of artifact use in their community: functional, social, and religious aspects are
evident. It has been proposed that one of these crafts was the manufacture of munitions. As first
argued by Brown and Cooper 1990 (4), one of the cabins excavated appeared to contain a high
quantity of lead and other related artifacts that indicated the ... Show more content on

Third, I wanted to examine the broader context of munitions making in terms of African and
African American beliefs, and to see how the Munition Maker participated in the internal structure
of the tenant community on the Levi Jordan plantation. I will report on aspects of the first two sets
of research questions on this paper; the questions relating to ritual will be addressed in a future
forum.
Data presentation
During the field seasons of 1986 through 1988, a total of eleven units were excavated partially or
completely in the area that had been provisionally labeled as the Munition Maker s cabin. Out of
the total 255 square feet of this cabin, 206 square feet were excavated within the Munition Maker s
cabin. This represents approximately 81% percent of the total floor space in this cabin. During the
excavation the West and East brick foundations were uncovered. In this slide the West foundation
wall was seen.
From the area that was excavated a total of 30,306 artifacts were excavated from the abandonment
deposit. Of these 58.09% related to building materials, 1.15% were classified as ceramics, 30.78%
were classified as ecological, .29% were classified as farmware, 3.02% were classified as glass, .56
% was classified as munitions, 1.6% as personal, .17% as general tools and 4.34% as utensils. The

The Effects Of Water On The Body Weight
Water is about 60% of the adult human body weight. The relative importance of water is readily
apparent through the role it plays in various systems of the body. The popular notion, therefore,
exists that one must drink eight 8 oz glasses of water, which amounts to about 2 L, per day.
Currently, the Institute of Medicine states that the total beverage intake for men should be
about 13 cups or 3 L and for women 9 cups or 2.2 L ( Water: How Much... ). The right amount of
water one should drink each day ultimately depends on a number of factors, such as where one
lives, the amount of activity, and personal health. My average daily water intake is less than the
recommended amount of 2 3 L, which affects the physiological functions of my cardiovascular
and renal systems. A low water intake affects the healthy functioning of the cardiovascular
system. The decrease in effective circulating volume, or the extracellular fluid in the blood
vessels that perfuse the tissues, decreases end diastolic volume that is not compensated for by the
end systolic volume, which exhibits a smaller decline. As a result, the stroke volume decreases
because the left ventricle does not fill up as much with blood. The large reduction in end diastolic
volume and stroke volume is mainly a result of the decrease in venous return due to the reduced
amount of fluid circulating in the body (Stohr et al. 894). This leads to a reduction in arterial and
atrial pressure, which decreases the stretch of the blood

Dual Language Reflection Paper
The instruction of this lesson took place in a 2nd grade Spanish dual language classroom. The total
number of students that were present that day were 27 students. I videotaped two out of the three
lessons taught, but decided to choose the first video because of the level of student engagement.
The video I chose is from the first minutes of the first lessonincluding the hookand it goes into the
moment that students start carrying out their own investigations through the construction and the
creation of their own clay boats. Even before I asked the hook, the students were raising their
hands, which is common for them to do. What I feel I should have done was asked them to put their
hands down and think for three seconds about the question before they raise their hands. Something
that I noticed that did work during the teachingof this lesson was manipulating the clay in front of
them and acting as if I going to drop it in. The students got very creative with some of the answers,
but those are the answers that are worth jotting down as well because that might be what other
students are thinking.
Something that I didn t take into account right away was that not all students could see from where
they were standing. Therefore, I m glad my cooperating teacher started to move the students. The
wording of my directions was not as clear as I had planned for when taking everyone into account
because the students at the middle table also started to stand up just like the students

The Legacy Of Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was born April 13, 1743, in Shadwell, Virginia. His mother was Jane
Randolph Jefferson, his father was Peter Jefferson, and he was the third of ten children. As a
child he liked to explore in the woods, play the violin, and read. In 1757 he started attending a
private school run by Reverend William Douglas and Reverend James Maury in which he
studied Latin, Greek, mathematics, and literature. After studying there for three years he went to
The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He studied there for three years, and
then studied law under Wythe for five years. In 1767 he won admission to Virginia Bar. From
1767 through 1764 he practiced law. He took up many cases and won a large majority of them.
During that time he also met and married Martha Wayles Skelton, and they had six children
together, only two of which lived until adulthood. Jefferson s political career began in 1768 when
he was elected to the House of Burgesses where he promoted America s independence from
England. He also wrote his first major political composition, A Summary View of the Rights of
British America which gained him the reputation as the most eloquent writer of the American
cause. In 1775 he attended the Second Continental Congress In June of 1776 Congress put Jefferson

Juveniles are being sentenced as young as ten year old. Juveniles are being tried as adults in
courts and something must change, and it needs to change fast. The younger generation is
supposed to be our future leaders. A juvenile being tried as an adult is a harsh sentence. Over
5,000 juveniles are being tried and sentence to prison every year. The United Statesneed to step in
and change the way how the youth is being treated in the criminal justicesystem. There is no
question that someone who committed a crimethey are going to get some sort of sentence. When an

Society plays a big role in a child s development and the way they are going to be raised. One of the
biggest solutions that can help is rehabilitation. This can help can help them and give them a
positive transformation. Many see education is the key to youth rehabilitation. The youth involved
in the juvenile justice system has a history of poor academic education. In rehabilitation, the youth
has a right to receive education, such as getting caught up with their school work. Juveniles need a
strong education programs, so they are inspired to finish their studies and pursue careers in the
future. Another solution for juvenile justice is detention centers. A judge can send a juvenile to a
detention facility. Detention facility are temporary housing for the youth who committed crimes.
Detention sentences are usually short term instead of long term. It is a wakeup call for juveniles
and won t commit that crime again. Home confinement is another solution than sending them to
prison. The juvenile can only leave their house for school, community service, or counseling.
Meaning contacts can have an impact on the juvenile. Family treatment, such as interventions, with
the youth can strengthen the family bond of the child and decrease any criminal activity in the

Nova Scotia s Imperial Expansion
Halliburton s text is a personal description of Nova Scotia s landscape and its nature but most
importantly is used as a tool for Imperial Expansion. As mentioned in the summary, Halliburton
is thanked by the House for writing a detailed text on Nova Scotia and its resources for the
possibility of further development. He discusses in depth Nova Scotia s natural beauty and
extensive resources in their simplest forms, to persuade the House to appreciate the beauty of
the province and what is has to offer for them. Not only does he discuss the cities of Nova Scotia,
particularly the city of Halifax but he describes in detail the rural areas of the province.

world. In fact, Haliburton, the only mention of human live in his text is when he mentions the

Personal Narrative-Jimin s Existential Crisis
The smell of freshly baked bread filled Jimin s nose as he awkwardly walked around downtown
NY. He tried to blend in with the locals, but everything he did made him stand out. He was
dashingly handsome with a strong athletic build and chocolate brown eyes. There was nothing
normal about him and the more normal he tried to walk, the more uncoordinated he looked.
Jimin sighed audibly, he realized how much attention he was drawing as he forcefully tried to
fuse himself into a group of young businessmen, but he just couldn t do anything about it. His
ripped jeans, blue tee shirt and work boots among the sea of black dress suits made him look like
a m m in a pile of rice. His mission was a covert attack. Key word: Covert. And he was being the
opposite of covert. He was being overt. Jimin s shoulders sagged and his normal exquisite
posture turned into that of a sloth. His haughty confidence had faded away into defeated dread.
If he couldn t even blend in with the locals, how was he supposed to stealthily find Mr. Cane and
eliminate the target . That s what the file said. Written in red ink, the words practically screamed
the extreme importance of the task. Just as Jimin s existential crisis was about to begin, he

When Was Toilet Paper Invented
Toilet paper; we use it every day. Most people don t think about who or how toilet paper was
invented. We get distracted by the soft feeling of the tissue wiping our waste. One of these people
who used the invention is possibly James Buchanan, the 15th president of the United States. But
thanks to the man who gave us a smile on our faces, Joseph Gayetty. Although he did not invent
toilet paper for wastes, he did have a role in making it into what it is today. Now, because of him
and companies like Charmin s, toilet papers has the best place to be rolled in, the bathroom. Toilet

Also, there would be no satisfaction without it, which would make us miss out in all it had to offer.
To begin with my first reason, we can use these to prevent hemorrhoids. We use this inventionto
absorb blood from our butts. This idea was made by the creator of toilet paper, Joseph Gayetty.
We always put a lot of pressure to get all the waste out; but when putting too much pressure can
harm your body and get blood stains on your pants. Absorbing the blood with toilet paper can
prevent blood stains on rears, but it s very painful and disgusting. Moving around can feel very

5-Htpr Case Study
Question: Does 5 HTTLPR moderate the effect it has on stressful life events (victimization)
differently depending on gender?
Importance: In Benjet et al. s study (2010), the investigators state that the results of the interaction
of the 5 HTTLPR and environmental variables for adolescent boys have been inconsistent. The
research on adolescent girls though has been the opposite, as results have been more definitive.
Since there have been inconsistencies in the literature for adolescent boys between the moderation
of 5 HTTLPR and other factors, there is a need for more research to be done on this group of
children to better understand how depression symptoms are developed on boys and to investigate
whether adolescent boys that have 2 short alleles (s/s) have a genetic vulnerability like their female
counterparts do. This would also help in creating preventative measures for male adolescents if they
do have this genetic vulnerability and if they do not, maybe there is some other factor that could be
moderating depression on adolescent boys more than adolescent girls.
Answer: I do not think that 5 HTTLPR has different moderating effects because if it did, there
should be more conclusive results. What I think could be driving these inconsistencies is social
stigma. Adolescent girls tend to report higher levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Supply Chain Management System
Supply Chain Management is defined as the oversight of materials, information, and finances as
they move in a course of action from supplier to manufacturer to wholesaler to retailer to consumer.
It includes numerous activities such as coordinating and integrating these flows both within and
amid companies. By directing the supply chain, companies are able to cut excess fat and provide
products faster. This is done by keeping tighter control of internal inventories, internal production,
distribution, sales and the inventories of the company s product purchasers, therefore completing
the objective in a Supply Chain Managementsystem by decreasing inventory. However there are
risks taken by companies as the globalization of their supply chain is paired with concerns about
the quality of products that are made in other countries may not meet regulatory standards, therefore
puts their products in jeopardy of being recalled. This means that supply chain managers are
responsible for ensuring suppliers and their products maintain safety and quality standards. Recalls
or safety issues can damage a company s reputation.

Sex Offender Laws
A sex offender is a particular grouping of words that tends to scare people when they hear them
together. It is even scarier when you think about the possible crime that might have gone along
with being convicted as a sex offender. One of my favorite TV programs is Law and Order: SVU.
Over the years, this show has portrayed a vast variety of heinous crimes. We as a society cringe
when we think of something bad happening to our children and tend to judge before we know the
full story. This paper will talk about some of Megan s law and similar laws in the state of

This lengthy chapter is basically the Mississippi version of Megan s Law. This law was created
because the Mississippi Legislature realized the danger that convicted sex offenders pose to the
public. The law discusses the fact that people convicted of a sex offense need to realize that they
will lose most of their privacy. This loss of privacy is to ensure their safety and wellbeing. The sex
offender registry was created to help law enforcement protect the communities where these
criminals live. The Mississippi law requires that the offender registers, records their address, be
fingerprinted, be photographed and sign a release regarding the information they just supplied.
The law further says that the offender has to keep all this information up to date or face further
penalties. The public has the option to keep up with the sex offender registry and to have the
knowledge needed to help keep their family safe. The twofold plan of this law works well. This
includes the public and law enforcement working together to keep their eyes on all convicted sex
offenders ( Mississippi Code Title 45, Chapter 33 Registration of Sex Offenders,

Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut
Love, Death, and War in J.D Salinger s
Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut
J.D Salinger was best known for his portrayal of isolationism and the loss of innocence in his
literary works. Like many Modern artists of the 1950 s, such as his good friend Ernest
Hemmingway, Salinger was highly interested in reflection of the individual as well as the
disconnectedness between adults and children (Calloway 3). In his short story, Uncle Wiggily in
Connecticut , Salinger uses the themes of love, death, and the war to reflect the emotional
detachment between Eloise and her own life, as well as her relationships with her husband and
daughter.

She abandons her critical nature and attitude when describing the man of her past, who made
her laugh. He could do it when he talked to me. He could do it over the phone. He could even do
it in a letter. And the best thing about it was that he didn t even try to be funny he just was funny
(Salinger). The language she uses gives the reader the image of her lying on her couch as she
reminisces about her past experiences with him. Salinger invites us into her emotional memory
bank, and constructs the dialogue within this very scene in such a way that places Eloise
mentally by herself remembering things that once made her happy, and making everything at that
moment obsolete, in the same way a lover might recall their past love experiences (Smith 648).
It is at this very point within the plot that we become aware of not only her relationship with this
other past man, but also where the name Uncle Wiggily was derived from. This name is of
significance to her. However, her train of thought is interrupted by Mary Jane reminding Eloise of
the current martial situation she s in now, Doesn t Lew have a sense of humor Mary Jane said
(Salinger). Her response to the questions of her husband does not run as deep as the memories she

Criminal Activity in Salinas
It is said that the national crime rate in the United States has been reducing in the last decade or
so, but we haven t seen a reduction in our own back yard. In fact it seems that the crime in
Salinas has been steadily climbing. Every time you watch the evening news you hear about a
shooting or homicide that has occurred, every time you pull out your phone you see another
robbery or assault. Why are we still plagued with gang violence and activities? What are the root
problems for this increase in crime? What are the solutions? Before we can even try to come up
with solutions to reducing and preventing crime would have to be understanding the factors
behind the crimes that are plaguing Salinas California. We all know that the main reasons for
crimes are gangs, but why do we have gangs. First of all the main reason we have gangs is
because of the old gangs members that have become father and have taught their children the
gang business. A lot of the gangs we have are a younger branch of the older gangs from the 90 s
and 80 s. Poor immigrants that migrated to Los Angeles to work in the fields fueled the epidemic
of street gangs in the U.S. Children of these workers started going to school and they began to get
picked on for not being able to speak English. These children united and created the first known
street gangs in the U.S. These children united for one reason, this reason was protection from others

Alice In Wonderland Schizophrenia Analysis
When watching, Alice in Wonderland as a child of course I didn t know what Schizophrenia was,
therefore I didn t recognize or look for this in the character of Alice. After doing research and re
watching the film, it became clearer to me that Alice does in fact show symptoms of Schizophrenia.
What exactly is schizophrenia? As stated in the class lecture slides, it is a neurodevelopmental
disorder of the brain that is expressed in abnormal mental functions and disturbed behavior. Some of
the symptoms include; hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, slow thinking, disorganized speech,
significant impairment in functioning, etc. In this essay, I will be discussing Schizophrenia in
Alice s character, hence the fact I will be describing her symptoms, causes, outcomes, etc. There are
many different factors that play a role in the disorder of Schizophrenia. At the beginning of the
movie, Alice in Wonderlandwe find out that Alice s father has passed away. With this being said,
this could have been an environmental factor that played a role in Alice s coming of
Schizophrenia. As talked about in lecture, personal tragedies experienced by families are one of
these environmental factors and fits into what happened with Alice and her family.
Alice has been having continuous nightmares that consist of the same activity; falling into a rabbit
hole. After doing research, I found that this is a part of another disorder; Dream Anxiety Disorder

Breast cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the

Speech On Mistakes
A famous saying by Al Franken goes like Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your
mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless its
a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from. I think mistakes are necessary. It shapes you
to become a better, wiser and a stronger person who is prepared to face further challenges as well.
I personally believe that learning things the harder way always has more impact. It no longer is
just an incident but becomes a lesson for life, something that you try not to repeat. When we fear
of making mistakes, we can often see some amount of hesitation in our work. This prevents us
from developing newer and more innovative way of doing any particular job.
When we first started walking, we would stumble and fall down within few steps, until we
learned how to walk perfectly. Mistakes are like these falls, without which we would never excel
at anything. But one thing we should always keep in mind is we should never let these mistakes
stop us from continuing the work. Mistakes are lessons for us, which help us grow and reach newer
heights. Studies have shown that a person who has committed a mistake is always more determined
and focused than a person who hasn t. Thomas Edison came up light bulb after ... Show more

The Pros And Disadvantages Of Modern Test Taking
Will Powers
Dr. Lenore

Modern Test Taking
There have been many studies done to figure out which of the many testing styles allow students to
both retain more information and help elevate some of the pre exam stress, while at the same time
not putting too much work on the professor. Out of all the styles that have been tested, two of the
most common styles that constantly rival each other are the open book test vs. the closed book tests.
Many teachers still cling to the traditional closed books test.
A closed book test is a test where students are expected to study their note before a test is given and
try their very best to memorize everything that they can fit into their heads in order to successfully
pass the test, then go into the exam with nothing but the pencil in their hand and the test on their
desk.
An open book test, is a test that allows students to bring either their notes or something that can be
written on such as a sheet of paper or a note card that was given to the student before the exam.
Both of these exam types have a wide range of both advantages and disadvantages.
One of the most common disadvantages that is often mentioned for closed book exams is the fact
that as far as the real world is concerned, closed book test are unrealistic. For many subjects the
idea of doing a task with nothing but the sole information in someone s head would be seen as not
only absurd but actually careless. An example of this absurdity and

Should A College Education Be Free
We have all been in a group project with an unmotivated person, which causes us to work harder to
pick up their slack. No matter how much instruction and guidance we give them, they still will not
complete the task. This would be very similar to providing a chance at a free college education, in
which that chance at free educationwould be wasted by those who wouldn t follow through. College
education shouldn t be free to everyone because it would raise taxes that would burden the
working class, and would be taken advantage of by the lethargic people in our society.
In the first place, noting in this world is truly free. As stated in a national newspaper, New York
Times, Andrew P. Kelly, director of the Center on Higher EducationReform at the American
Enterprise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He says, First, free college isn t free, it simply shifts costs from students to taxpayers (1). When
students are no longer paying for their own education they lose the true value of a college
education. Additionally, if students are not paying for their college education, they surrender some
of their motivation to complete school in four years. Therefore causing them to staying in school
longer, which will cost taxpayers more money.
Looking at it another way, everyone in our society should be able to chase their dreams of going
to college, and the more educated our society is the better our economy should become. In a
campaign for free college, Wyatt Larkin states his opinion on why college education should be
free. Larkin states, Post secondary education ought to be completely free for the exact same reason
that elementary and secondary education have long been free because a functioning democracy
demands an informed citizenry and because a highly competitive world economy requires that we
make the best possible use of our brainpower, our most important natural resource ( Why College
Should be Tuition Free 1). I totally disagree with Larkin,

Essay On Prison Reform
In America, crime rates are going up and prisoners are being released from prison with a wrong
sense of direction resulting in their finding themselves back behind bars within a short period of
time after being released for an action that could have been prevented if the proper precautions had
been taken. Prisons need to put forth the effort to resolve these issues and make America s streets
secure again. The criminal justicesystem in prisons is a rising concern in this country that is
affecting many and it is time it was improved by reforming the inside of prisons, providing
prisoners with more when released, and keeping them under surveillance after release to help ensure
they will not return to prison, thus keeping crimeat a lower rate.

Punishments are no longer as cruel, the death penalty has been lifted in multiple states, and
prisoners are being treated in a more equal manner, but the system should continue to be
improved even more to accomplish what needs to be done in order to make the streets safer.
Crime has changed from what it once was in the past. Rates have gone up and people appear to
be behaving in a more difficult manner. The government cannot afford to continue treating
prisoners the way they once did in the past. Reform is not just for the prisoners. Reform is for
the people in the communities of America. But there appears to be a few setbacks when it comes
to reform, and one of those setbacks is cost. Though according to Gary C. Mohr, Criminal justice
systems can be people oriented, evidence based and cost effective while remaining focused on the
safety and well being of those living in the different communities. Therefore, cost should not be an
excuse as to why the system cannot be reformed, especially when it comes to public safety. In fact,
there should be no excuses when it comes to public safety. Prisons should do what must be

The Effect Of The Nicene Creed On The Christian Community
Alyssa Oliviero
Professor Chris King
History of Christianity
24 September 2014
Reading Response Two The Nicene Creed says that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, begotten
of the Father before all worlds...begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father... This
idea presented conflict within the Christian community, between followers and also leaders of the
church. The idea presented in the Nicene Creed stemmed from the teachings of Greek philosophers.
They taught there was a supreme God containing all power and perfection, meaning He would
never change. This God was not affected by things that are physical and that change. This idea at
first largely helped Christians in showing others that even Greek philosophers had faith in an
invisible God. Then this idea slowly started changing the way Christians thought. Looking further
into the fact that God was in fact perfect suggested he would not have anything to do with imperfect
human beings. Although God himself may not have anything to do with flawed humans, the
Christians thought perhaps He would create intermediary angels that created and interacted with
the physical world. One of these intermediary angels was thought to be Jesus Christ. ... Show more

Before this, Christians simply believed God and Jesus Christ were one in the same. Most people
belonging to the Christian faith believed Christ was identical to God. Arius suggested The Son was

Short Bowel Syndrome Case Study
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a heterogeneous, malabsorptive disorder that occurs after an
extensive small bowel resection surgery (2). Conditions of the small bowel which may warrant this
type of surgery include Crohn s disease, post radiation enteritis, ischemia/other vascular issues of
the bowel, malignancy, trauma, tumors, and complications from previous abdominal or gastric
bypass surgery (1, 2). Once the bowel has been resected, the normal processes involved in
absorption of nutrients, electrolytes, and fluids are altered (1). A variety of long term complications
related to SBS exists and is dependent upon which sections of the bowel remain, the amount of
remaining bowel, and the functional and structural adaptations that occur post surgery... Show more

For example, the jejunum only has the ability to adapt functionally, but the ileum has the ability to
adapt functionally and structurally (3). Therefore, the more ileum remaining after a resection, the
better the outcome. The severity of SBS symptoms is largely based on the type of small bowel
resection surgery that has been performed. Three distinct bowel resections are known to result in
SBS: jejuno ileal anastomosis, jejuno colic anastomosis, and end jejunostomy (3). The adverse
symptoms created by SBS vary based on the type of resection that has occurred, the phase of post
resection in which the patient is, and the extent of adaptation of the bowel that occurs.

What Was Paul s Response Of The 1st Century Circumcision...

1. Paul and Gnosticism.
What was Paul s response to the 1st century circumcision controversy? What were the characteristic
features (beliefs practices) of Gnostic Christianity? And in your judgment, can either viewpoint (or
both) be considered orthodox over against the other?
Throughout the early history of Christianity, disputes broke out over mosaic law, particularly in
the mid first century when the issue of circumcision, cutting off the foreskin of a man s penis, was
a heavily debated and a recurring issue among different churches and members of the church.
Many Christians believed that following the mosaic law, which included the act of circumcision,
was no longer required for salvation as having faith and accepting Jesus as the messiah would be
enough. Others, on the other hand, believed that requirements set forth in the mosaic law were still
necessary to be saved. These people were negatively branded with the name Judaizers (those who
believed that all Christians should follow the Law of Moses), and were often criticized for being
discriminatory and elitist. A meeting was then held to discuss the whether the application of the
mosaic law to new members of the Christian community, particularly focusing on if those trying to
convert, were obliged undergo circumcision to be accepted into, and become part of, the Christian
community. The apostolic decree of the council of Jerusalem moved away from its

People shouldn t be determined by the way they look. Not being white doesn t mean you can t
make six figures and are able to support your family. Social media was created for the enjoyment
of another or better form of communication. Minority majority on shows how mixed the world is
and how so many people feel that race doesn t portray who you are.
This trend only offends those who minorities. It only reduces social problems because it allows
people to disrespect others by basically calling them out of their names. To make things better
everyone has to be on the same page as far as communication goes. Categorizing one another as
the same regardless of the color of our skin will reduce more than Minority Majority by creating
a movement towards making a difference in the world. If the current trend remains the way it is
whites will become less than 50 percent of the population by 2042(Tom Jacobs). Coming up with
more suggests or ideas on will it would be tolerant in the near future, the increasing diversity of
the nation may actually yield more intergroup hostility (Tom Jacobs). In my opinion there may be
issues with some part of the society when it comes to the time when we are merge as one. People
just have to be more understanding an aware of other people are now starting families and
receiving jobs in the united states so it s best to start accepting and treating everyone as the same.

Some people claim you are a person directly after conception, while others believe that a
grouping of 46 chromosomes does not make you a human, but a potential life. Whether or not
they are a living human being depends on whether they are protected by the right to life.
Abortions for rape or incest victims is another controversial topic. Babies born of these acts are not
intended at all, as the sexual act was forced and no contraception or precaution could be taken.
Killing the babies from these actions is penalizing them for something they had no choice in the
matter of. This dispute is the link between two groups; Pro Choice and Pro Life. Naturally, each
side is the absolute reversal of the other. That is why negotiation is so difficult. Pro Life, or right
to life , is the group that is against abortion. They are usually republicans, or conservatives. They
claim human life begins at conception; thus making the fetus a person and elimination of such as
that, manslaughter. The unborn are innocent, and deserve their right to life. The issue of abortion
to them is one of civil rights they believe all humans justify equality, even those that aren t born

Evaluation Of The Layout And Content Of My Brochure
Unit 12 Evaluation for the Brochure
I will evaluate the layout and content of my brochure against the client brief. The page layout
for each page is A4. At first I divided the pages into three section. However, it didn t look as
appealing. The purpose of this is because I wanted to ensure the information and the sizes of the
images fills the page. This is because I wanted to make it more different and appealing. The
information is placed in a rectangular or square box. It fits the whole A4 page. The pointsize of the
texts varies this depends if it is the subheading, heading or body text. Also, the sizes of the shapes
are diverse. This depends on the information and how big the images are. Also, there are images
placed in the box, which I will further discuss.
The front cover of the Newcastle Tours brochure as stated earlier is an A4 page. This page is
simpler due to it being the front cover and is 21 cm x 29.7cm. I decided to add the social
networks at the bottom of the page and information at the centre of the page, along with the logo
at the top of the brochure. I don t have a particular layout as I wanted to make it more individual
and more appealing. The colour of the text in all the pages is white and black. The purpose of this
is because the background is mainly dark blue and white so black and white will contrast with the
background colours. These colours were also used to meet the brief.
Moreover, the text styles used are Calibri Corbel. All these font

Macbeth Guilt Essay
William Shakespeare s Macbeth is a tragedy in which the plot evolves in great accordance to the
guilt that the individual characters feel. The guilt starts with the planning and execution of the
murder of King Duncan. To this event Lady Macbeth and Macbeth react in different ways. They
both become guilty in some way or another but the guiltthey feel is comprised of different reasons.
It is due to their differences in character that they react in the ways they do. While it might not
seem like both of them become guilty after this event, when explored their actions show clearly the
guilt they feel.
When Macbeth and Lady Macbeth decide to kill Duncan they both have different reactions. Lady

Macbeth starts off as a brave man who is physically capable of a lot, but is mentally very weak.
Whereas Lady Macbeth is limited physically by her sex, but believes that she is mentally
stronger than Macbeth. As the play pans out we are able to make our own judgment on each
characters strengths and weaknesses. In the unsex me scene Lady Macbeth tells us that she
wants to be changed from being a weak woman so that she can replace Macbeth who is mentally
weak with her own mental strength in order to successfully become the king. After the killing of
Duncan Lady Macbeth accidently hints that she was unable to kill Duncan herself and at this
point shows her first signs of mental weakness. After this point they basically change places,
Lady Macbeth becomes and insignificant and weak character in the play, who spirals
downwards into insanity. She grows so ill that the doctor says there s nothing he can do to help
her. The disease, he says, is beyond his practice, and what Lady Macbeth needs is the divine (a
priest or, God), not a physician . On the other hand Macbeth steps up and plans for himself to
murder many more people as his mental strength has significantly grown. Lady Macbeth s
transformation from that of a powerful and unnaturally masculine figure into an enfeebled woman
reestablishes a sense of natural gender order in the play. In other words, Lady Macbeth is put in
her place,

  • 2. Media Acts And Its Impact On Society In our society today, media acts as an integral factor in creating and undoing social bonds, as well as communicating topics which enable social transformation. It is generally considered that political and economic subjects are rational and thus are treated as men s issues , in comparison to social and cultural themes expressed as sensitive and accordingly correlated with femininity (Stevenson 1995). Although this is open to much criticism in terms of genderinequality, it is undoubtable that gender equality is progressing. Women have enrolled into conventionally male dominated work places, reflecting the general consensus that women achieve better at school. Also, men have proceeded into normally female dominated areas such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the course of the 40 years it was found that in both newspapers was an evident gender bias, which has gradually overcome as new media genres have developed (Stanley, 2012). In the non elite paper women are hardly pictured, and in the elite magazine women show up just as often as men (Stanley, 2012). The audience of both papers consists of approximately 50% women and 50% men (Stanley, 2012). However, mirroring the diversity between elite and non elite newspapers, the typical reader of the New York Timeshas more formal education than is the case for the Daily News (Daily News, 2012) (News York Times, 2012). Stanley states that the article addresses a myriad of key questions. Firstly, the progress of women s appearance in newspapers today is explored in comparison to fifty years ago. Secondly, the location of where women are presented within the newspaper is of concern. The article then explores whether these locations are of similarity within elite and non elite newspapers or whether they are different. An array of theoretical perspectives are provided, which are later used to justify and criticise findings. The first is an approach that the content within media is a parallel of realism; an increased number of women in society results in photography being progressively occupied by women. This is then followed by a supposition that the constitution of cultural presence in the media is influenced by cultural categories of editors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chad Handyman Services Case After examining the different business formats that are available, it has been decided to stay with the limited liability partnership is the most prudent business organization choice. Although the company has added additional employees it will not change its organization title. This decision is based on the liability clause that will limit losses due to faulty workmanship, and the taxation laws regarding LLCs, by having a favorable tax code. While performing duties as a business invitee, a client s pet was uncontrolled on the homeowner s premises and caused Dad and Chad to lose control of a Jacuzzi tub causing bodily injury to Dan and several thousand dollars in property damage. Based on homeowners insurance the owner of the premises is liable. • 5. The Constitutional Basis Of Personal Jurisdiction Jurisdiction Personal jurisdiction refers to the ability of a court to exercise its power over a particular defendant or item of property. Personal jurisdiction may be categorized as in personam, in rem, or quasi in rem. The primary restraints on a court s power to exercise personal jurisdiction are found in the United StatesConstitution, state statutes, and case law. The Constitutional basis for personal jurisdictioncomes from the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. The statutory basis comes from most states adopting what is called a long arm statute that states the limits of personal jurisdictionthat a state has over the defendant. Most long arm statutes, including CA, state that their personal jurisdiction may be exercised up to the limits of the constitution. There are two types of personal jurisdiction: specific jurisdiction and general jurisdiction. A court will have specific jurisdiction when the activities that gave rise to the case happened in the forum state and general jurisdiction occurs when the activities that gave rise were unrelated to the forum state. Specific jurisdiction is easier to find than general jurisdiction. Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714 (1878) established four ways to attain general jurisdiction: 1) the defendant s presence in the forum state, including corporations, 2) if the defendant is a domicile of the forum state, 3) if the defendant consented to being sued in the forum state, and 4) Quasi in Rem (the suit of the thing), where ... • 6. Essay on Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) utilizes the natural temperature difference in tropical regions to generate electricity. The idea of using the ocean to generate electricity was proposed by a French physicist by the name of Jacques Arsene d Arsonval in 1881. Georges Cluade who was one of d Arsonval students, built the first OTEC power plant in Cuba. Cluade also built a second power plant in 1935 on a 10,000 ton cargo ship which was moored off the coast of Brazil. Unfortunate events with weather and waves caused both facilities to be destroyed before either could be net generators. The United States became interested in OTEC technology in 1974 and built the Natural EnergyLaboratory of Hawaii Authority... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The steam then boils the low point boiling fluid, which drives the turbine to produce electricity. The hybrid combined the vacuum portion of the open cycle system and uses the low point boiling fluid like the closed cycle system. Unfortunately, there is no mass energy production for the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion but there has been a successful attempt in 1979, when Lockheed Martin successfully built and operated over a three month period a net power mini OTEC system which generated 50 kilowatts of net power off the Big Island of Hawaii. But the United States is not the only country who is invested into OTEC systems, Japan has currently a closed system OTEC plant that has generated 31.5 kilowatts of power during tests. The positives of the OTEC system is monumental. Even if one tenth of one percent of the solar energy trapped by the oceans could be converted into electricity, It would generate twenty times the amount of electricity the United States use everyday. It could easily supply all the energy we wanted, said Terry Penney, a lab program manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo. The process is very low efficiency, just 2 or 3 or 4 percent, but all that energy s free. (qtd. in charles. The Energy Debates: Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion. LiveScience. TechMedia Network, 12 Dec. 2008. Web. 03 Feb. 2014.) Unlike Solar and Wind alternative energy, OTEC can work during the day and night, which means that OTEC can create ... Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify examples of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric Company has, as well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of these. The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln ElectricCompany is that they obviously have a strong culturethat all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also mentions that, Lincoln has never had a formal organization chart... • 14. The African American Resident Community Introduction As has been described, research at on the Levi Jordan Plantation has focused on the African American resident community, and has revealed considerable information about the specialized crafts that were practiced by members of this community. Evidence indicates that the use of these crafts went beyond daily subsistence needs to include ritual use, and demonstrates multi dimensional patterns of artifact use in their community: functional, social, and religious aspects are evident. It has been proposed that one of these crafts was the manufacture of munitions. As first argued by Brown and Cooper 1990 (4), one of the cabins excavated appeared to contain a high quantity of lead and other related artifacts that indicated the ... • 15. The Effects Of Water On The Body Weight Water is about 60% of the adult human body weight. The relative importance of water is readily apparent through the role it plays in various systems of the body. The popular notion, therefore, exists that one must drink eight 8 oz glasses of water, which amounts to about 2 L, per day. Currently, the Institute of Medicine states that the total beverage intake for men should be about 13 cups or 3 L and for women 9 cups or 2.2 L ( Water: How Much... ). The right amount of water one should drink each day ultimately depends on a number of factors, such as where one lives, the amount of activity, and personal health. My average daily water intake is less than the recommended amount of 2 3 L, which affects the physiological functions of my cardiovascular and renal systems. A low water intake affects the healthy functioning of the cardiovascular system. The decrease in effective circulating volume, or the extracellular fluid in the blood vessels that perfuse the tissues, decreases end diastolic volume that is not compensated for by the end systolic volume, which exhibits a smaller decline. As a result, the stroke volume decreases because the left ventricle does not fill up as much with blood. The large reduction in end diastolic volume and stroke volume is mainly a result of the decrease in venous return due to the reduced amount of fluid circulating in the body (Stohr et al. 894). This leads to a reduction in arterial and atrial pressure, which decreases the stretch of the blood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alice In Wonderland Schizophrenia Analysis When watching, Alice in Wonderland as a child of course I didn t know what Schizophrenia was, therefore I didn t recognize or look for this in the character of Alice. After doing research and re watching the film, it became clearer to me that Alice does in fact show symptoms of Schizophrenia. What exactly is schizophrenia? As stated in the class lecture slides, it is a neurodevelopmental disorder of the brain that is expressed in abnormal mental functions and disturbed behavior. Some of the symptoms include; hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, slow thinking, disorganized speech, significant impairment in functioning, etc. In this essay, I will be discussing Schizophrenia in Alice s character, hence the fact I will be describing her symptoms, causes, outcomes, etc. There are many different factors that play a role in the disorder of Schizophrenia. At the beginning of the movie, Alice in Wonderlandwe find out that Alice s father has passed away. With this being said, this could have been an environmental factor that played a role in Alice s coming of Schizophrenia. As talked about in lecture, personal tragedies experienced by families are one of these environmental factors and fits into what happened with Alice and her family. Alice has been having continuous nightmares that consist of the same activity; falling into a rabbit hole. The Pros And Disadvantages Of Modern Test Taking Will Powers Dr. Lenore English 100 26 October, 2017 Modern Test Taking There have been many studies done to figure out which of the many testing styles allow students to both retain more information and help elevate some of the pre exam stress, while at the same time not putting too much work on the professor. Out of all the styles that have been tested, two of the most common styles that constantly rival each other are the open book test vs. the closed book tests. Many teachers still cling to the traditional closed books test. A closed book test is a test where students are expected to study their note before a test is given and try their very best to memorize everything that they can fit into their heads in order to successfully pass the test, then go into the exam with nothing but the pencil in their hand and the test on their desk. An open book test, is a test that allows students to bring either their notes or something that can be written on such as a sheet of paper or a note card that was given to the student before the exam. Both of these exam types have a wide range of both advantages and disadvantages. One of the most common disadvantages that is often mentioned for closed book exams is the fact that as far as the real world is concerned, closed book test are unrealistic. This idea presented conflict within the Christian community, between followers and also leaders of the church. The idea presented in the Nicene Creed stemmed from the teachings of Greek philosophers. They taught there was a supreme God containing all power and perfection, meaning He would never change. This God was not affected by things that are physical and that change. This idea at first largely helped Christians in showing others that even Greek philosophers had faith in an invisible God. Then this idea slowly started changing the way Christians thought. Looking further into the fact that God was in fact perfect suggested he would not have anything to do with imperfect human beings. Throughout the early history of Christianity, disputes broke out over mosaic law, particularly in the mid first century when the issue of circumcision, cutting off the foreskin of a man s penis, was a heavily debated and a recurring issue among different churches and members of the church. Many Christians believed that following the mosaic law, which included the act of circumcision, was no longer required for salvation as having faith and accepting Jesus as the messiah would be enough. Others, on the other hand, believed that requirements set forth in the mosaic law were still necessary to be saved. These people were negatively branded with the name Judaizers (those who believed that all Christians should follow the Law of Moses), and were often criticized for being discriminatory and elitist.
