As executives charged with the task of putting banking on a new commercial course,
you need to be armed with trustworthy, complete facts and analysis. For that, the
institution needs to adopt a business analytics framework. Decisions will then be based

"Consummation" and Timing of Closed-End Disclosures under Securian's Single-S...NAFCU Services Corporation
One of the legal implications to consider when developing a blended, single-signature multi-featured lending plan is whether the closed-end Fed Box disclosures can be given timely under Reg Z and applicable state contract law. The answer is yes, they can. By providing the disclosures at the time of advance, prior to or with the disbursement of funds, credit unions satisfy the timing requirements under Reg Z and state law. This paper will explain in greater detail the legal definition of “consummation”, the state law interpreting it, and how it applies to blended multi-featured plans. Quest for Knowledge: MOOCs Provide Insigts to InnovationJay Gendron
Massive open online courses (MOOCs) could solve old problems in new ways. More than ever, people need access to knowledge. Since the earliest of days, this has been a never-ending quest. This paper looks at the knowledge process from the domain of education in order to stimulate innovation and advancement in another source of knowledge – modeling and simulation. This paper explores knowledge, starting with the innovations that propelled MOOCs to their current position in the marketplace. It then offers a framework based on current studies and draws parallels to modeling and simulation, probing the questions as to how modeling and simulation can learn from MOOCs so decision makers have greater access to knowledge more directly and easily through modeling and simulation tools as well as the discipline formed by that community. Today's modeling and simulation leaders need awareness of the MOOC business model and the potentially high returns on investment when integrating models and tools to solve new problems.
There has been a lot of discussion in the media and in the
financial sector, about the state of struggling European
markets, and particularly about the Greek economy. More
broadly, people are concerned about what overall impact
the distressed Euro Zone could have on financial institutions
here in the United States if confidence in the Euro’s stability
continues to deteriorate.
As always, when talking about the future of the international
market, and more particularly about banks and Credit Unions
here in the United States, it’s difficult to say anything with
certainty. In this case, that difficulty is only increased by the
likelihood that banks and Credit Unions would be affected
differently. For more info: www.nafcu.org/bfb
Merchants and financial institution
executives devote a great deal of attention
to keeping up with changing
payment methods. They are constantly
weighing everything from mobile and
prepaid strategies to the rollout of
new security technologies and the
emergence of new competitors. Faced
with shifting and even contradictory
currents, they find the ultimate direction
of events is not always clear. As
a result, they are often hesitant about
moving forward with new approaches. For more info: www.nafcu.org/vantiv

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
