Here there is an obvious
preference for option C, black
white and red. This was as I
predicted as these have typical
horror connotations of blood and
gloom. Second most popular was
dark black and white. With over
75% finding black and white most
effective I will apply this to my
poster in order to reach a wider
audience. Red can be included in
places in order to add colour and
attract attention to specific areas.
2. Which image would you find spookiest?

Around 45% of the participants
preferred the use of a young/strange
child. Despite the wide popularity I
may not be able to apply this to my
work as I don’t have a model of that
age. However I can still attempt to
make them appear ‘strange’. I can
also avoid using the less popular
options such as an object which
wasn’t chosen at all.
4. Would a simple yet meaningful, or a
busy poster be more effective?
Simple
Busy
5. Which poster do you find most
appeal to advertise a scary film?
A
B
I intentionally placed these two questions as the questions are fairly similar, but
questioned different. As the prompt posters used in question 5 both contrasted,
one was fairly hectic and the other was basic. The results showed that in both
questions the participants preferred. As there is a clear distinction between the
two i will apply these findings to my poster, and produce something simplistic
with a few striking features.
8. Which potential name do you prefer?
A. The list B. Bandit C. Shattered glass D. the last captive E. Sanctuary

The results of this question are very close, with no obvious favourite or
correlation in language choice. Ultimately it will be my decision as I still
need to decide upon the theme of trailer. Once I have drafted a basic
storyline I will then be able to create a name for my film, potentially using
one of these possibilities.
