Background
Conclusions
Nanofiber composites manufactured successfully. Solution conductivity increased with increasing TA amount.
PLA nanofibers had random fiber orientation. The nanofiber diameters increased with increasing TA amount.
All the tested samples showed a reduction in E.coli counts ranging between 1-3 log counts (%90 to %99.9).
The amount of TA in the PLA increased, the antibacterial activity was also increased.

The objective: the fabrication of phytochemical based antimicrobial nanofiber composites via electrospinning
Polylactic acid (PLA) used for the nanofiber fabrication. Tannic acid used as antimicrobial agent.
The antimicrobial activity of the composites assessed against Escherichia coli.
