There is no single standard technique or methodology to characterize the size, structure, number, and chemical composition of airborne carbon nanotubes. Existing analytical instruments and analytical techniques for evaluating nanoparticle concentrations cannot simultaneously provide morphology, state of agglomeration, surface area, mass, size distribution and chemical composition data critical to making occupational health assessments. This research utilized scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis to assess the morphology and mass of carbon nanotubes collected using various commercial sample filters. It illustrated carbon nanotube agglomeration, deposition and distribution in commonly used sample filter media. It also illustrated that a sufficient mass for carbon nanotube analysis by thermogravimetric analysis is uncommon under most current research and production uses of carbon nanotubes. Individual carbon nanotubes were found to readily agglomerate with diameters ranging from 1 – 63 µm. They were collected at the face of or within the filter. They were not evenly distributed across the face of the filters.

Structural and optical properties of quantum dots were studied by XRD, UV-Vis absorption spectrum and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and the number of cells in seminiferous tubes of various groups were analyzed using SPSS 16 program (one way ANOVA test).
Results:
Histological studies of testis tissue showed high toxicity of cdse in the dose of 40 mg/kg which followed by decrease in lamina propria thickness, destruction in interstitial tissue, deformation of seminiferoustubes, and reduction in number cells. Also histological study of lung tissue showed in 20 and 40 mg/kg doses destruction in interstitial and epithelium tissues.
Conclusion:
On the whole, this study showed high toxicity of cdse on development of testis and lung tissues, even in low doses considering lack of literature review in this field, this study can be an introduction to researches about toxicity effect of quantum dots on development of organs.

Methods targeting hotspots is insufficient for TP53 analysis since the mutations are widely spread along the gene1. Here we describe the development of the Ion TorrentTM next-generation semiconductor sequencing and Ion AmpliSeqTM technology (Life TechnologiesTM).

Modelling the Kinetic of UV Water DisinfectionMichael George
Ultraviolet disinfection is an attractive tool for treating water and eliminating pathogens with safe and available technology especially in developing countries where waterborne diseases cause the death of thousands of people every year. Even though UV is an easy tool to perform disinfection, concerns over the potential of microorganism reactivation constitute an issue for its development. In order to avoid this phenomenon, estimating the right dose of UV irradiance, the number of viable microorganisms and the sufficient contact time are important parameters to consider when performing UV disinfection. For this purpose, it’s current to use mathematical modelling. This work aimed to study the modelling of the kinetic of water disinfection by UV irradiation. Two kinetic models (Chick-Watson and Hom) were tested as to ability to scale disinfection of Gram negative Escherichia coli and Gram positive Lactobacillus Helveticus by different ultraviolet (UV) light inactivation process: UV alone, UV and TiO2 as a photocatalyst and finally UV and ZnO as a photocatalyst. The two tested models (Chick-Watson and Hom) fitted the kinetic of disinfection of E. coli. However, it must be noticed that, the simple agreement between experimental data and model predictions does not necessarily prove that either of the models is mechanistically correct. For the disinfection of L. Helveticus, neither of the two models fitted the experimental plots. The divergence existing between experimental and modelling results proves only that the empirical models can’t be generalized to all deactivated microorganisms.

Atmospheric Exposure to Cr III Powder Causes Genotoxicity in Rattus Norvegicus.inventionjournals
Several chemical elements are responsible for altering the genetic integrity of living beings. The metal Cr stands out in this regard. It exists in two oxidation states, Cr VI and Cr III, and has been investigated as an important environmental and occupational contaminant. Although the former is considered carcinogenic, the latter is classified as safe, even for human use in food supplementation. However, most studies with Cr( III) have been carried out by different routes to how it is occupationally found – in the atmosphere. This study evaluated the genotoxicity of Cr(III) inhaled during 8 hours of exposure to the maximum concentration permitted by ATSDR. Fifteen male Rattus norvegicus were used in this study. There were 3 groups (n=5 per group); these were - group exposed to Cr (III) powder (S), the negative control group (NC) and the positive control group (PC). The animals were exposed to Cr aerosol particles at a flow rate of 9L/min and atmospheric concentration of 500μg/m3 for only 8 hours in this study. An increase in genotoxicity and mutagenicity in the group exposed to the metal powder was observed. These findings suggest that further studies should be carried out in order to establish safe levels of exposure to Cr III in work environments

Lung Cancer: Artificial Intelligence, Synergetics, Complex System Analysis, S...Oleg Kshivets
RESULTS: Overall life span (LS) was 2252.1±1742.5 days and cumulative 5-year survival (5YS) reached 73.2%, 10 years – 64.8%, 20 years – 42.5%. 513 LCP lived more than 5 years (LS=3124.6±1525.6 days), 148 LCP – more than 10 years (LS=5054.4±1504.1 days).199 LCP died because of LC (LS=562.7±374.5 days). 5YS of LCP after bi/lobectomies was significantly superior in comparison with LCP after pneumonectomies (78.1% vs.63.7%, P=0.00001 by log-rank test). AT significantly improved 5YS (66.3% vs. 34.8%) (P=0.00000 by log-rank test) only for LCP with N1-2. Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: phase transition (PT) early-invasive LC in terms of synergetics, PT N0—N12, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells- CC and blood cells subpopulations), G1-3, histology, glucose, AT, blood cell circuit, prothrombin index, heparin tolerance, recalcification time (P=0.000-0.038). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and PT early-invasive LC (rank=1), PT N0—N12 (rank=2), thrombocytes/CC (3), erythrocytes/CC (4), eosinophils/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), segmented neutrophils/CC (8), stick neutrophils/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10); leucocytes/CC (11). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (area under ROC curve=1.0; error=0.0).
CONCLUSIONS: 5YS of LCP after radical procedures significantly depended on: 1) PT early-invasive cancer; 2) PT N0--N12; 3) cell ratio factors; 4) blood cell circuit; 5) biochemical factors; 6) hemostasis system; 7) AT; 8) LC characteristics; 9) LC cell dynamics; 10) surgery type: lobectomy/pneumonectomy; 11) anthropometric data. Optimal diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC are: 1) screening and early detection of LC; 2) availability of experienced thoracic surgeons because of complexity of radical procedures; 3) aggressive en block surgery and adequate lymph node dissection for completeness; 4) precise prediction; 5) adjuvant chemoimmunoradiotherapy for LCP with unfavorable prognosis.

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.

Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum

Conclusions
Nanofiber composites manufactured successfully. Solution conductivity increased with increasing TA amount.
PLA nanofibers had random fiber orientation. The nanofiber diameters increased with increasing TA amount.
All the tested samples showed a reduction in E.coli counts ranging between 1-3 log counts (%90 to %99.9).
The amount of TA in the PLA increased, the antibacterial activity was also increased.
