Comparision of Alexander the Great and Augustus Ceasar
Alexander the Great and Augustus are two different individuals from two different time periods and
they are both famous for their accomplishments. Alexander is one of the greatest military geniuses
who by the age of 33 had conquered most of Asia. Alexander thought of himself as the son of Greek
god Zeus. Augustuswas the first emperor of Rome who brought peace and stability to the Roman
Empire. He was the grandson of the sister of Julius Caesar. His original name was Caius Octavius,
but when he was adopted by the Julian gens (44 B.C.) he became Caius Julius Caesar Octavianus
(Octavian). He was named (given the title) Augustus later when he became the First Emperor or
Rome by the senate. Augustus was seen as both a military leader as well as a religious leader. In
my opinion they were both very important in their time because Alexander for being able to
conquer lands all the way to Asia and Augustus for being the first emperor and having a nearly
fifty years of peace (Pax Romana). But if I had to choose who was more important I would choose
Augustus Caesar.
Alexander the Great was the King of Macedonia. He is considered one of the greatest military
geniuses of all times. He inspired later conquerors such as Hannibal the Carthaginian, the Romans
Pompey, Caesar, and Napoleon. Alexander was born in 356 B.C. in Pella, the ancient capital of
Macedonia. He was the son of Phillip II, King of Macedonia, and Olympia s, the princess of
neighboring Epirus. Olympias told Alexander that

1997 Film Version Of The Odyssey
In the 1997 film version of The Odyssey the director made several changes from the book,
including characterization, settings, the order of events, and some events are removed or
shortened. These changes may have helped the movie move along faster, however the changes
were not effective in accurately portraying The Odyssey and giving the viewer a deep
understanding of the characters and their experiences. The way that Odysseus s crew is killed is
changed in the film, the meeting with the Phaiakians is cut short, as well as the meeting with
Menelaos. Due to these events being cut short or changed, the viewers did not get a good
understanding of the characters that appear in these events, and what their purpose is in helping the
heroes of the

Apatow Analysis
Although Judd Apatow s acclaimed comedy Girls is airing its last episodes, his newest HBO
half hour comedy Crashing is keeping the quirky and hilarious ball rolling. Similar to shows such
as Louie, Seinfeld and Master of None, Crashing follows the semi fictional story of comedian
Pete Holmes life (for the purposes of this story, the comedian is called Holmes, and the character,
Pete, respectively). The series begins with Pete catching his wife cheating on him, and continues as
he s forced to start a new life in show business.
For those unfamiliar with Holmes, you may have heard his voice as the E Trade baby or might
have caught his featured sets on Conan O Brien or Jimmy Fallon s late night talk shows. Fans of
Holmes know and love him for his Nerdist podcast You Made It Weird and the late... Show more

Following suit of Apatow s other great comedies, the humorous dialogue in Crashing is natural and
authentic, without the feeling of forced jokes. Apatow s veteran directorial presence can be felt
through the polished quality of the show, such as the scene where childlike Pete engages in a
conversation with actual children, while Holmes writing provides a new perspective.
In episode one, Artie Lange, Pete turns to comedy for emotional support after leaving his wife, and
meets real life comedian Artie Lange. The interaction provides a sharp juxtaposition between the
seasoned Lange and the sheltered newcomer, Pete. The duo share pizza, survive a stabbing and
fight New York s parking laws before Lange begrudgingly allows Pete to crash on his couch.
Lange helps Pete embark on a journey to discover his independence, because in order to be
successful, the young optimist first needs to learn more about the harsh realities of comedy and the

Preste, Ne, Chanoun Analysis
Throughout the Middle Ages travel is represented in many different forms and is seen in many
different groups, especially within the world of the Franciscan monks. Constantly on the move,
these mendicant friars faced many trials and tribulations throughout their journeys. The monks were
forced to be constantly on the move, never able to claim a home of their own and were under
constant ridicule from those around them, causing problems and riffs as they went. The poem,
Preste, Ne Monke, Ne Yit Chanoun , written in 1382, outlined the problems mendicants placed on
those around them and warned society of their evils and destructiveness. Preste, Ne Monke, Ne Yit
Chanoun explains and presents the threats towards the clergy, the monk s sexual promiscuity and
the threats the monks imposed on the economic order to reiterate the problems of travel and why

Francis, caused many problems for the church. The monks encroached on the clergy s
territories. People, instead of giving or donating money to the church for their confessions or
prayers, were paying the mendicant monks for those same services. The monks, who were
constantly on the move, were able to reach many places and many people allowing them to
make money in many different places. This movement gave them a steady flow of prayers to
give and confessions to hear, at a price of course, allowing them to make economic advancements.
In Preste, Ne Monke, Ne Yit Chanoun the narrator warned the reader to be war that no frer ham

confession, neither publically nor privately. He also stated that the monks, thai travele yerne and

True Islam Has Been Hijacked
True Islam has been hijacked. The public image of the Muslim community, not only in America, but
globally, has been tainted by small groups of extremists. The extremists ideas stem from
conservative interpretations of the Quran, and are not as widely followed as most people assume.
Some examples from the Quran that extremists interpret differently than most often have to do with
the term disbelievers; Quran 48:29, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with
him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. The disbelievers in this verse
refers to those who persecuted and attacked Muslims, this is not a verse guiding Muslims to be

After the Golden Age, which is the age of the four rightfully guided caliphs, empires were
established. If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and
state. Mr. Hamid then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam
canonical law) is tied so closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that
Islam should follow Western pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we
continue to see Islam struggling with separating their faith and government is, because some see
Islam as a political ideology and think it never was a religion since they never separated from the
government. Another is more simply because many Islamic states have tried numerous political
ideologies, such as: communism, secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping
Islam s separation issues in mind, the first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to
the hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution was the result of persecuted Iranians who were tired of
the current dynastic governance. The Revolution was led by the Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah
Khomeini and overthrew Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who was friendly with the United States.
The Revolution began in October, 1977 and lasted until January, 1979, when Iranbecame an Islamic
Republic. This is an important event in Westerners perceptions of

Presidential Election Winner
Presidential Election Winner
The 2016 presidential election was one of the most controversial elections to have ever faced the
American people. Both major political parties ran on completely opposite platforms which caused
the American people to be divided more than ever on policies and beliefs. In fact, the outcome of
the election took the media, the American people and the world by surprise. This only divided the
American people even further. The Democrats were certain that their candidate, Hillary Clinton,
was to be the winner over Donald Trump. History though proved everyone otherwise with the loss
of Hillary Clinton. Many analysts claim that the Democrats loss of the presidency was due to FBI
director, James Comey s letter, the media s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, from the very first day, Post ABC polling found that a majority of respondents didn t
think Trump was qualified to be president. (Bump). The problem is, that didn t keep people from
voting for him. In national exit polling conducted after the election, 6 in 10 voters said they didn
t think Trump was qualified to be president. And yet one fifth of those voters voted for him
anyway. This only reinforces the fact that Clinton was not able to connect with the typical
Democratic constituents. If nearly 1 in 5 voters accepted Clinton s core argument about Trump
but voted for him anyway then Clinton s campaign was in deep trouble before Comey did
anything. Whether or not Comey s letters was the deciding factor of the election isn t clear. What s
clear is that Comey provides an easy excuse, deservedly or not

The Pros And Cons Of The Schlieffen-Moltke Plan
Although critical for the German war plan, the Schlieffen Moltke plan was kept a secret to the
public, and even staff members of the German Imperial Army. Moltke kept the Schlieffen Plan a
secret throughout his service in the army. Even close staff members, such as General Gerog
Graf von Waldersee, admitted they had never actually seen the blueprints for the plan. (Ehlert,
90, PPed). A reason that Moltke wished to keep the Schlieffen Moltke plan a secret was for the
reason of altering it if needed without objection from his staff members. Other commander s
opinions may have helped find a better strategy, as well as counter arguments to flawed areas of
the plan. Surprisingly, Moltke did not tell Schlieffen about the changes he had made to his plan.
However, Schlieffen found out about his changes and questioned Moltke s leadership out of
spite. (Ehlert, 97, pped). Moltke s strategy was flawed and caused crucial problem s during the
deployment of the Schlieffen Plan. However, he had the power to get away with it. Due to his
close relationship with the Kaiser, Moltke was able to exercise political pressure and to influence
the decisions of the civilian government. His fear of what the future held for Germanywas
infectious, and Chancellor Bethmann Hollweg, in particular, was a victim of this dark vision of
things to come. (Mombauer, 420, 1999). Moltke had the ability to control the actions of the German
military without resistance from his staff.

Computer Technology And Computing Technology
Abstract Computation intensive mobile applications are more in demand with the evolution in
computer technology, while the computation capacities of mobile devices are limited. Computation
offloading is a challenging method that sends heavy computation task to the resourceful computers
and obtains results from them, provided computation offloading decision should balance system s
benefits and costs. This paper presents the survey of various such computation offloading decisions
algorithms highlighting their objectives and features, followed with their comparative analysis
based on parameters i.e. energy efficiency, performance, time complexity, overheads, application
support and their future scope. keywords Computation offloading;offloading decisions;mobile cloud

Short Essay About The Tango
The tango is Argentina s national dance. The tango is a dance that defies description. It can be
fast and slow. Tango can be choreographed or completely improvised. Sometimes it has the stylish
elegance of a ballroom dance or a staccato duel. You could even describe it as a war between legs.

Theme Of A Prayer For Owen Tony
In the novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, there are multiple themes. However, the
main theme is armless ness. Armless ness is talked about throughout the entire novel from the
beginning to the end, and plays an important role in the novel. There are four main objects/people
who are or become armless and they are; the dressmaker s dummy, the armadillo, the statue of Mary
Magdalene, and Owen Meany. The first object that John Irvingtalks about that is armless is Tabby
Wheelwright s dress makers dummy. The dress makers dummy perfectly resembles Tabby s
height, size, and figure. As young boys Johnny and Owen would dress the dummy up with Tabby
s clothing. Owen becomes very fond of the dummy even before Tabby dies. After Tabby s death

Tabby knows who it is but no one else knows who it might be. The person at the doorbell is Dan.
Tabby introduces Dan to her mother and most importantly, John. Dan brought Johnny a gift
inside of a paper bag. Inside that paper bag was a stuffed animal armadillo that Owen soon
becomes very obsessed with. When Tabby dies Owen gives Johnny his most prized possession,
his baseball cards. Owen gives Johnny his baseball cards instead of using words to apologize.
Owen knows he can trust Johnny with anything of his, and that s his way of seeing if Johnny will
do the same. Johnny goes to Dan for advice on what to do since:
Dan understood that I loved Owen, and that I wanted to talk with him most of all but that it was
a conversation, for both Owen s sake and mine, that was best to delay. But before we finished
loading the baseball cards in the car, Dan Needham asked me, What are you giving him? What? I
said. To show him that you love him, Dan Needham said. That s what he was showing you. What
have you got to give him?

Natural Science Vs Religion
Natural science and religion are two areas of knowledge that perceive knowledge using ways of
knowing differently to pursue its knowledge, an example of that would be Charles Darwin and his
theory of natural selection and evolution. In natural science, the theory of natural selection is
derived from studying the common features in the bone structure of vertebrate limbs despite its
varied use. Therefore, using deductive reasoning, they established the evolutiontheory which states
that humans evolved from apes due to the fact that humanand apes have similar features and that
human has evolved due to adaptation and survival of genes. However, religion, using not only
intuition and emotions but also reason disagrees with the claim of evolution.

I Had The Pleasure For Care For A Resident
Working in clinical setting was a great experience. I had the pleasure to care for a resident that
was born in the year of 1912. My resident was one hundred and two years old. During my clinical
experience with my resident and performed an assessment known as a SPICES. This assessment
allows us as caregivers to identify and help provide nursing interventions to an elderly that may
face these geriatric syndromes. During a SPICES assessment, we look for signs of problems
during sleep, problems eating, incontinence, confusion, as well as evidence of any falls and any
possible skin breakdown. During my assessment, I encountered many medical conditions my
patient has that supports that she is having problems with a few of the geriatric syndromes.
When it comes to sleep, my patient does not seem to sleep very well and has difficulty falling
asleep. There are no signs that my resident has any problems with her everyday feeding and
eating. She is able to perform this daily activity individually. As for having trouble with
incontinence, for the most part this resident is able to tell a caregiver when she has to use the
restroom. To make herself more comfortable at night she will not eat or drink anything too late
which prevents her from having to use the bathroom during sleep hours. While she will not ask
for help, if the need arises, she will use a bed pan. However, on rare occasions the patient may
have an accident while sleeping because there was no feeling that she had to

one of Twain s most upbeat books. He wrote it at the beginning of his writing career before all of

an apprentice, and a steamboat pilot. The book was a lively tribute to the disappearing steamboat
pilots that disappeared at the beginning of the Civil War when the development of railroads had

of humorous steamboat pilots and is said to contain some of the best written passages by the
beloved author. The writing is so detailed and interesting, many readers feel as though they are

Causes And Effects Of Solar Storms
A solar storm with that classification can produce long lasting radiation storms which can damage
satellites and even damage influence airline passengers that fly near the polls. The small radiation
doses produced as well by X class flares also hold the potential to create global transmission
problems and worldwide blackouts. When solar flares are produced from the sun, radiation is
emitted across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, starting at radio waves at the long end of the
spectrum to x ray and gamma rays at the short wavelength end. The beta and gamma radiation
produced from the solar flare influence the semiconductors present in most electronic systems in
today s technology. When the radiation passes through the semiconductor is can have two major
effects: one is to make electron hole pairs which may create soft errors and, if the radiation is
produced in a sufficient amount permanent damage can be caused by creating large numbers of
charges with sufficient energy injected into silicon dioxide regions and change the characteristics
of the transistor. Not only can solar radiation damage small components but can damage a large
part of the power grid. When a geomagnetic stormhits the earth the produced electromagnetic
energy from the solar windcauses geomagnetically induced currents. This is similar to the process
of when an electrical generator produces electricity, the currents produced by the solar storm are a
geo electric field but have a magnetic field the same

Views on the Vietnam War Expressed in the Films The Ugly...
Film during much of the Vietnam War and the years after usually attempted to push a strong
agenda. Not until later did movies become less biased, especially when talking about Vietnam. The
Ugly American, directed by George Englund, and The Green Berets, directed by John Wayne, are
no exceptions. The Green Berets propose a strong support for the war while The Ugly American
tended to blame the United Statesfor being in an unnecessary war. Nevertheless, while both movies
differ strongly in their views, both tend to convey the horrors of war. The Green Berets was a movie
that continuously encouraged its audience to prolong the VietnamWar. Just as the movie begins, a
scene takes place that sets the stage for the rest of the movie. A... Show more content on

Moreover, the war persuades both the Vietnamese and Americans that fighting has no productivity.
The local Vietnamese explain they do not want Freedom Road because it will bring the Cold Warto
Vietnam (Ugly American, The). Having both perspectives allowed the director to influence his
viewers using two concepts. Even Deong rallies against the Americans as the movie continues
toward its inevitable conclusion. He willingly allows the communist protesters to attack
MacWhite to try to stall America s imperialist efforts (Ugly American, The). It appears that nearly
every person tried to condemn the Vietnam War as a burden on everyone. The Ugly American
differs from The Green Berets because it criticizes the Vietnam War rather than sympathizing with
it. Although there are many disparities between the two movies, both agree that war, whether
Vietnamese or not, is never pleasurable. For instance, The Green Berets broke from its morals
near the end of the movie. Notably, Sergeant Petersen dies despite the fact that an observer might
think the war then too costly to continue (Green Berets, The). Even though the creators and
producers of The Green Berets wanted their audience to believe war was just, they also agreed it
was costly. Deong s death has a very similar perspective and again contradicts itself. With Deong s
death a viewer may imagine that the hero they came to know died needlessly (Ugly American, The).

The Importance Of A Common National Language
Common national language has consistently been a fundamental driving force to uphold national
bonding all over the globe. This can be recognized by historical examples ranging from those
found in Western countries to Asian countries, such as how French was adopted as a means to
reunify France as a whole country after the French Revolution and how Korea has made use of a
common Korean languageto unite the Three Kingdoms and to secure statehood. In this context,
common national language refers to a language, both written and spoken that has connections, de
facto or de jure with users and the territory they occupy and exists originally but is then forged to be
the first language to shape a politically desired national identity. To strengthen the national
solidarity, it has sometimes been proposed that a typical national language is indispensable for
accelerating the formation of an appropriate national identity. This essay will argue that common
national language is the key to sustain nationhood because users can gain a greater sense of
belongings and togetherness towards the nation. This will be asserted by demonstrating how a
particular concept can be stressed with a language while speaking and by showing how a common
national language could reduce the communication gap between nationals with different mother
tongues.
A key argument for adopting a universal national language is that speakers of a language can
incline to certain types of information while speaking (Mooney

The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman
Barbara Tuchman s Guns of August is about World War 1. Her book has a unique way of telling
this story. Her books gives explanations for each country s involvement in the war. It describes
the opinions of the Czar and reasons for all of his crucial decisions during this time. It also
explains how Germany was in a tight spot and prepared for war a few years before it actually
began. England was not to worried about the war in Europe because it had it s own problems. The
English people didn t think it was necessary for them to enter the war.

this book very much because it goes into great detail. She explains vividly the events occurring
that were crucial in deciding the outcome of the war. She also writes in story form just like her
other books, and it s always easier to read a story that study a text book. My favorite thing about
this book was that makes the war seem like a story I ve never read, even though most people
know the major events of the war. Her style of writing keeps you guessing what s next.

Odyssey Of Reading
The more that you read, the more things you will know the more that you learn, the more place you
will go. Dr Seuss. In this world full of competitions, it s hard to survive without knowing three basic
skills. Those are reading, speaking and, writing. Reading is an amazing communication channel that
human being has invented. For me, Readinganything is combination of two things, your eyes and
continues thing of your brain. Reading is everywhere in our routine life beginning from early
morning newspaper to late night texting. Talking about my life, role of reading was different in my
every part of life.
My odyssey of reading starts when I was small, I remember that my mom used to teach me who to
read alphabets everyday and I use to read and repeat loudly with her. My dad was a strict person; he
had made a rule for me to strictly read newspaper every day. I use to read half hardly and then try to
escape reading farther by showing so or the other reason. But as a kid I was always curious to read I
remember that when I travel in car, my eyes were always looking out of the window and I try to
read the poster and ad banner in surroundings. However I couldn t complete reading every time

Speech On Drugs In Sports
Drugs In Sports In sports, many of the Olympic winners have been found in taking drugs to gain
advantage from other participants with would help them to perform better in their competition.
Drugs come in different form, e.g. pills, injection or powder. The participants who take drugs only
think that the drugs will only give them positive results, but they don t think what are the after
results and what happened if they got caught. Some athletes don t even know that they are taking
drugs because their trainer has been giving them supplements by telling them that they are vitamin
pills but for the people who actually are intentionally taking drugs, is it actually fair for the drugs
to be banned because they naturally don t have as much strength and power that the other
participants have naturally? A drug is a medicine or other substance which has a psychological
effect when digested or otherwise introduced in the body (Dictionary). There are many different
types of drugs, e.g. anabolic steroids, diuretics and stimulants (performance enhancing drugs).
These drugs are not the only ones used but these are one of the most common ones. Anabolic

Color Red In The Giver
In The Giver, everything and everyone within the community look the same, and everything
revolves around sameness. At the ceremony of twelve, Jonas receives the assignment as the next

On the Nature of Creativity
On The Nature of Creativity All things created in over the many years is categorised as
something that s useful, valuable, clarity, innovative, novel or...creative. The two philosophers
Larry Briskman and Carl Huasman have written up an essay on their belief of what creativity is,
there understanding and notion of creativity both include a criteria to match for a product to be
creative. If creativity is based on criteria then we can agree that criteria are based on a set of
rules to abide with, and then if that s the case creativity is defined in an objective perspective.
Creativity has many views in this case the philosophers have explained in in a non psychological
way. Creativity is more based on a subjective and psychological view which will be explained in
detail later on in the essay. If creativity were to be assessed by criteria then creativity simply can t
be called creative . In other words this means if something is to be creative but has to be
evaluated by someone to be classified creative then how can we call this product a creative
product. As mentioned by David Jones any group of experts who claim to be able to objectively
identify the aesthetic value of a work must be mistaken. They can do no more than mutually
reinforce their own personal taste and preferences .(1) I see creativity as a personal belief of what
you see as an audience, you can t determine a product to be creative If it s not valuable or if it
needs to be evaluated(2). If I took the

Arts-Based Research Papers
Before talking about what is arts based research and design thinking good for, we should first know
what is research. Pierre and Zimmerman (1997) stated: I like to think of research as re search, to
search again, to take a closer second look. This is a very accurate way to describe what is research.
Because sometimes when we do a research, we will have more than two researchers to work
together, not only making sure the credibility of results, but also searching again and again to
obtain a plenty of useful information. And also indicate research should focus on three periods: the
past, present, and future, which can help it more accurately to find solutions.

Blood On The Leaves Interpretation
Kanye West has proven himself over time that he is much more than just a producer. With each
new album he releases, he constantly pushes the boundaries of music influencing artist across all
genres. Kanye has an ever evolving sound that changes almost year to year. Kanye West s Yeezus
album is an album that takes a much darker and more minimalist turn in his discography. This
approach to music makes Yeezus a much harder album to listen through because it is not filled
with nice, polished sounds. Having the album made this way makes us look over what the
message of a song and the album are. Among many rough songs one the most popular on the
album was Blood on the Leaves. Blood on the Leaves samples from another song called Strange
Fruitsung by Nina Simonewhich is a very political song talking about gruesome lynchings that
happened before and at the turn of the century. With help from the sample, West uses the pain of
lynching and drug abuse to compare with the break ups he goes through.
The instrumental of the song starts off very slow at the beginning we can hear a piano in the
background that slowly begins to play. Over this soft piano sound we hear Nina Simone break
through. She sets us up with an interesting imagery of strange fruit hanging. But she doesn t get to
the part that they are bodies just yet. The listener is confused by exactly what she means by the
meaning of strange fruit since there is no context of what she is referencing inside of the song.

The Psychological Assessment Practitioners
As stated by Foxcroft (2011) the psychological assessment practitioners core ethical responsibility
is that nothing should be done during testing and assessment to harm the client, and that it is their
responsibility to follow ethical practices so that the test takers can perceive the assessment to be
fair and beneficial. This discussion will be covering ethical issues in psychological assessment with
an emphasis on the South African context. We will look at what a psychological test is, what ethics
is, the history of South Africathat has had an impact on psychological testingin this country, and
some ethical issues to consider. In the South African context, a psychological test is classified as
such when the purpose of said test, results in the performance of a psychological act, according to
Foxcroft, Roodt, Abrahams (as cited in Foxcroft. 2011). Foxcroft (2011) stated that a
psychological act with regards to assessment is the use of measures to assess mental, cognitive, or
behavioural processes and functioning, intellectual functioning, aptitude, personality etc. Only
registered psychologists are allowed to perform psychological acts, and the tests devised may only
be used, interpreted and managed by psychologists according to Foxcroft (2011). Because these
psychological tests are assessing information which the client may not wish to be made public, or
could potentially cause any harm or distress on them if these results were improperly used, it is

Sonic Boom And How Does It Work
What is a sonic boom and how does it work?
A sonic boom is sort of similar to the sound of an explosion. It is caused by shock waves created
by an object that travels through the air faster than the speed of sound. Sonic booms create huge
amounts of sound energy. The crack of a supersonic bullet passing overhead and the crack of a
bullwhip are examples of a sonic boom in miniature.

The Complex Structure of the Visual Organ of the Human Body
The visual organ of the human body is a specialized structure designed to receive and process
light into images that can be perceived by the brain and is commonly known as the eye.
Structurally, the eye is a globular unit that can be generally divided into an anterior segment
composed of an anterior and posterior chamber or internal cavities filled with of thin, transparent
fluid called the aqueous humor and a posterior segment filled with a clear, jelly like substance
referred to as the vitreous body (Abrahams, 2002). Surrounding these two polarized segments are
three concentric layers that form the external wall of the eyecalled the fibrous layer, vascular layer,
and sensory or inner layer. Each layer of the eye is composed of specialized components such as
the sclera and cornea in the fibrous layer, the choroid, ciliary body, and retinain the vascular layer,
and the retina and optic nerve which comprise the sensory or innermost layer. As each of these
structures within the eye performs an integral function that contributes to one s sense of vision,
while others have a supplementary specialized role to protect the eye, impairing any one of these
components via trauma or damage to the eye leads to a severe reduction in visual faculty. Damage
to the retina, specifically, can cause a condition called retinal detachmentwhereas the name denotes,
the retina becomes detached from an underlying layer of pigmented epithelium cells known as the
retinal pigment layer and thereby

Christian Faith And The Cross
The cross has over the years in the Christian faith been perceived as the major symbol of faith.
This is manifested by how it is often strewn in churches, people s clothing like t shirts, designed
as necklaces, and even for some, it is placed as tattoos on their bodies. This means that the cross,
which was initially associated with the death of Christ, has today become an image and
reminder of hope. That the cross is the focal image for Christians in the church today is no doubt
and it is this perception that has stimulated debate over the years. For most Christians, the cross
is the essential image that brings trust for the forgiveness of sins and the likelihood of new life.
Christ s death on the cross implies that Christians sins have been managed and that God s ability
to pardon sin is prospective. Most people have drawn such solace from the image of the cross that
they will think of it as a source of violence. Others, on the contrary have raised concerns that the
cross has contributed to promoting violence all through the historical backdrop of the Christian
congregation. From Constantine s vision of the cross during the fourth century, to the campaigns in
the Middle Ages, Christians have considered the cross as a reason for the utilization of military
force, mistreatment, and different types of violence. Most people are expressing their concerns on
whether the cross is an intrinsically violent and burdensome image, responsible for the misuse and
violence not just

The Mythological Beginning Of Ayurveda Medicine
Introduction
Ayurveda philosophy states that optimal health and healing can occur through the connection of the
mind, body, behavior, and environment.
History
The mythological beginning of ayurveda medicine begins with Brahma god of creation, Vishnu
god of preserving creation and Shiva god of destroying creation. These three gods work in harmony
together to create and maintain a balanced universe. The story of medicine begins with the Churning
of the Ocean the belief that the bottom of the ocean contains valuable things which needed to be
returned. Vishnu became a tortoise called Kurma and went to retrieve these valuables. While trying

the chrysanthemums Essay
The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck
The short story The Chrysanthemums shows how extraordinarily forward thinking the author, John
Steinbeck, was in his understanding of the pressures that women dealt with in his time. Through the
exploration and illustration of women s emotions, Steinbeck gives us a view into the struggle of
women in the early 20th century to find a place for themselves in society as well as establishing
their own sexuality(Charters, 502).
The story starts out with the description of a grey fog over the place where the story is set. The
significance of this is to set the mood of the story. It also is a possible representation of how the

Steinbeck gives us a clear understanding that Elisa isn t very happy with her position in life, this

Comparing The Beautiful And Damned And The Last Tycoon
F. Scott Fitzgerald has always been considered one of the best writers of his time because of his
style of writing, but where does his inspiration for his tragic and fun books come from?
Fitzgerald had a hard life growing up which he was later able to use this to his advantage and in
turn become a very prominent figure of his time and future times to come. By examining his two
books The Beautiful and Damned and The Last Tycoon the reader will be able to see how this
style of writing works best for this writer. To start off, Fitzgerald does an excellent job portraying
tragedy in his novelThe Beautiful and Damned by how he expresses his characters having no
loyalty or honesty or anything relating to these traits. A good example of this is when Gloria
says If I wanted anything, I d take it...I can t be bothered resisting things I want. This statement
expresses that she is a very selfish individual and this will in return come to haunt her in some
form of a tragedy because of her inability to overcome her selfishness. Likewise, in The Last
Tycoon, Fitzgerald expresses his characters in a similar way. His character Monroe Stahr is a

the whole process. The asylum process is a painstaking, time consuming, and emotional ordeal.
During my time there, I ended up meeting with dozens of refugees, but there was one event that
I can still remember clearly. I was invited to help work on a case involving a woman and her son

  • 2. Comparision of Alexander the Great and Augustus Ceasar Alexander the Great and Augustus are two different individuals from two different time periods and they are both famous for their accomplishments. Alexander is one of the greatest military geniuses who by the age of 33 had conquered most of Asia. Alexander thought of himself as the son of Greek god Zeus. Augustuswas the first emperor of Rome who brought peace and stability to the Roman Empire. He was the grandson of the sister of Julius Caesar. His original name was Caius Octavius, but when he was adopted by the Julian gens (44 B.C.) he became Caius Julius Caesar Octavianus (Octavian). He was named (given the title) Augustus later when he became the First Emperor or Rome by the senate. Augustus was seen as both a military leader as well as a religious leader. In my opinion they were both very important in their time because Alexander for being able to conquer lands all the way to Asia and Augustus for being the first emperor and having a nearly fifty years of peace (Pax Romana). But if I had to choose who was more important I would choose Augustus Caesar. Alexander the Great was the King of Macedonia. He is considered one of the greatest military geniuses of all times. In episode one, Artie Lange, Pete turns to comedy for emotional support after leaving his wife, and meets real life comedian Artie Lange. The interaction provides a sharp juxtaposition between the seasoned Lange and the sheltered newcomer, Pete. The extremists ideas stem from conservative interpretations of the Quran, and are not as widely followed as most people assume. Some examples from the Quran that extremists interpret differently than most often have to do with the term disbelievers; Quran 48:29, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. If Islam is likely to gain ground globally, he states that they must separate faith and state. Mr. Hamid then goes on to state that this is unlikely to happen, because Sharia (Islam canonical law) is tied so closely with the religion and state. The solution therefore, is stated that Islam should follow Western pattern and separate faith and government. A partial reason that we continue to see Islam struggling with separating their faith and government is, because some see Islam as a political ideology and think it never was a religion since they never separated from the government. Another is more simply because many Islamic states have tried numerous political ideologies, such as: communism, secularism, democracy, tyranny, monarchy, and so on. Keeping Islam s separation issues in mind, the first event to analyze is the Iranian Revolution, which led to the hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution was the result of persecuted Iranians who were tired of the current dynastic governance. The Pros And Cons Of The Schlieffen-Moltke Plan Although critical for the German war plan, the Schlieffen Moltke plan was kept a secret to the public, and even staff members of the German Imperial Army. Moltke kept the Schlieffen Plan a secret throughout his service in the army. Even close staff members, such as General Gerog Graf von Waldersee, admitted they had never actually seen the blueprints for the plan. (Ehlert, 90, PPed). A reason that Moltke wished to keep the Schlieffen Moltke plan a secret was for the reason of altering it if needed without objection from his staff members. Other commander s opinions may have helped find a better strategy, as well as counter arguments to flawed areas of the plan. Surprisingly, Moltke did not tell Schlieffen about the changes he had made to his plan. However, Schlieffen found out about his changes and questioned Moltke s leadership out of spite. This can be recognized by historical examples ranging from those found in Western countries to Asian countries, such as how French was adopted as a means to reunify France as a whole country after the French Revolution and how Korea has made use of a common Korean languageto unite the Three Kingdoms and to secure statehood. In this context, common national language refers to a language, both written and spoken that has connections, de facto or de jure with users and the territory they occupy and exists originally but is then forged to be the first language to shape a politically desired national identity. To strengthen the national solidarity, it has sometimes been proposed that a typical national language is indispensable for accelerating the formation of an appropriate national identity. This essay will argue that common national language is the key to sustain nationhood because users can gain a greater sense of belongings and togetherness towards the nation. This will be asserted by demonstrating how a particular concept can be stressed with a language while speaking and by showing how a common national language could reduce the communication gap between nationals with different mother tongues. On the Nature of Creativity On The Nature of Creativity All things created in over the many years is categorised as something that s useful, valuable, clarity, innovative, novel or...creative. The two philosophers Larry Briskman and Carl Huasman have written up an essay on their belief of what creativity is, there understanding and notion of creativity both include a criteria to match for a product to be creative. If creativity is based on criteria then we can agree that criteria are based on a set of rules to abide with, and then if that s the case creativity is defined in an objective perspective. Creativity has many views in this case the philosophers have explained in in a non psychological way. Creativity is more based on a subjective and psychological view which will be explained in detail later on in the essay. If creativity were to be assessed by criteria then creativity simply can t be called creative . In other words this means if something is to be creative but has to be evaluated by someone to be classified creative then how can we call this product a creative product. As mentioned by David Jones any group of experts who claim to be able to objectively identify the aesthetic value of a work must be mistaken. They can do no more than mutually reinforce their own personal taste and preferences .(1) I see creativity as a personal belief of what you see as an audience, you can t determine a product to be creative If it s not valuable or if it needs to be evaluated(2). Because sometimes when we do a research, we will have more than two researchers to work together, not only making sure the credibility of results, but also searching again and again to obtain a plenty of useful information. With each new album he releases, he constantly pushes the boundaries of music influencing artist across all genres. Kanye has an ever evolving sound that changes almost year to year. Kanye West s Yeezus album is an album that takes a much darker and more minimalist turn in his discography. This approach to music makes Yeezus a much harder album to listen through because it is not filled with nice, polished sounds. Having the album made this way makes us look over what the message of a song and the album are. Among many rough songs one the most popular on the album was Blood on the Leaves. Blood on the Leaves samples from another song called Strange Fruitsung by Nina Simonewhich is a very political song talking about gruesome lynchings that happened before and at the turn of the century. With help from the sample, West uses the pain of lynching and drug abuse to compare with the break ups he goes through. The instrumental of the song starts off very slow at the beginning we can hear a piano in the background that slowly begins to play. Over this soft piano sound we hear Nina Simone break through. She sets us up with an interesting imagery of strange fruit hanging. But she doesn t get to the part that they are bodies just yet. • 32. The Complex Structure of the Visual Organ of the Human Body The visual organ of the human body is a specialized structure designed to receive and process light into images that can be perceived by the brain and is commonly known as the eye. Structurally, the eye is a globular unit that can be generally divided into an anterior segment composed of an anterior and posterior chamber or internal cavities filled with of thin, transparent fluid called the aqueous humor and a posterior segment filled with a clear, jelly like substance referred to as the vitreous body (Abrahams, 2002). Surrounding these two polarized segments are three concentric layers that form the external wall of the eyecalled the fibrous layer, vascular layer, and sensory or inner layer. Each layer of the eye is composed of specialized components such as the sclera and cornea in the fibrous layer, the choroid, ciliary body, and retinain the vascular layer, and the retina and optic nerve which comprise the sensory or innermost layer. As each of these structures within the eye performs an integral function that contributes to one s sense of vision, while others have a supplementary specialized role to protect the eye, impairing any one of these components via trauma or damage to the eye leads to a severe reduction in visual faculty. Damage to the retina, specifically, can cause a condition called retinal detachmentwhereas the name denotes, the retina becomes detached from an underlying layer of pigmented epithelium cells known as the retinal pigment layer and thereby ... • 33. Christian Faith And The Cross The cross has over the years in the Christian faith been perceived as the major symbol of faith. This is manifested by how it is often strewn in churches, people s clothing like t shirts, designed as necklaces, and even for some, it is placed as tattoos on their bodies. This means that the cross, which was initially associated with the death of Christ, has today become an image and reminder of hope. That the cross is the focal image for Christians in the church today is no doubt and it is this perception that has stimulated debate over the years. For most Christians, the cross is the essential image that brings trust for the forgiveness of sins and the likelihood of new life. Christ s death on the cross implies that Christians sins have been managed and that God s ability to pardon sin is prospective. Most people have drawn such solace from the image of the cross that they will think of it as a source of violence. Others, on the contrary have raised concerns that the cross has contributed to promoting violence all through the historical backdrop of the Christian congregation. From Constantine s vision of the cross during the fourth century, to the campaigns in the Middle Ages, Christians have considered the cross as a reason for the utilization of military force, mistreatment, and different types of violence. Most people are expressing their concerns on whether the cross is an intrinsically violent and burdensome image, responsible for the misuse and violence not just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By examining his two books The Beautiful and Damned and The Last Tycoon the reader will be able to see how this style of writing works best for this writer. To start off, Fitzgerald does an excellent job portraying tragedy in his novelThe Beautiful and Damned by how he expresses his characters having no loyalty or honesty or anything relating to these traits. A good example of this is when Gloria says If I wanted anything, I d take it...I can t be bothered resisting things I want. This statement expresses that she is a very selfish individual and this will in return come to haunt her in some form of a tragedy because of her inability to overcome her selfishness.
