What are your basic assumptions about human nature?
My basic assumption about human nature is that even though none of us are perfect, we all strive for our own idea of perfection. By working too much towards how we think we should be it can cause stress, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues and often these are the root cause of them. Humans are beautifully imperfect and while, yes, oftentimes we all have behaviors to be altered, we need to embrace ourselves with love and kindness. It is easy to give someone else our love, patience and kindness, but if we turn that inward we can be the best version of ourselves, perfect or not.
Which approach to therapy is closest to your beliefs about human nature?
The therapy that is closest to my beliefs about human nature is existential therapy. "Existential therapy focuses on exploring themes such as mortality, meaning, freedom, responsibility, anxiety, and aloneness as these relate to a person’s current struggle." (Corey, 2013). Existential therapy looks at the bigger picture of humanity and encourages celebration and appreciation of our successes rather than focusing on downfalls.
In what ways do you believe that your basic assumptions might determine the procedures that you would use when working with clients?
My basic assumptions will help me to focus on the good in my clients and not the negative that they themselves may focus on. It will give me a better understanding of why people feel their own shortcomings and how to show them that there is good and valuable qualities in everyone.

When you look into the mirror, you are checking how you appear, and how you feel and whether it matches. Human nature is the sum of our whole species looking in the mirror. Human nature includes 3 core characteristics shared by all individuals; feelings, behaviors, and psychology. Our experiences with humans are different. Some view humans as good or bad or capable of great kindness. These views can be clouded by what our culture tells us and by people's influences in our lives. In western cultures, our discussions usually begin with classical Greece; Aristotle and Plato (Claudia, 2021).
My basic assumptions about human nature is that we can survive from our past and that humans are generally kind creatures and extremely resilient. I believe that humans construct their reality. They do not have to be destined to a certain life based solely on their past circumstances. We have the ability to overcome mountains of challenges with proper thinking and behaviors. We are responsible creatures for our choices and can therefore change and become something. I am proof of these assumptions. My teenage years were so bad that I lost my identity and lacked the proper social developments that most teens have. According to Corey, (2013.

Today, when we wake up to hear that even the most successful celebrities such as Anthony Bourdain and Avicii have committed suicide, a question
surges for many entrepreneurs: If not even the most accomplished amongst us are immune from suffering, how are we then supposed to find the joy and the motivation to succeed and be happy in the long run?
This workshop will originate with this question and will proceed with
activities and games to use the most effective mindfulness techniques that help build our self-esteem (positive thinking), realistic goal setting, and motivation.
Mentally strong people know that the only things we can control in life are our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and that everything else is outside of their control. Therefore, they focus on learning about and improving their thought, feeling, and behavior patterns. They know that success in life will follow. Mental Fitness Hacks:- https://bit.ly/2DJowPW

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. Top 3 Favorite Assignments
Self-Assessment Questionnaire
o In the beginning, it showed my core beliefs and behavioral patterns of thinking.
o It also pointed out things I needed to change in order to be successful.
o At the end of the semester, there were quite a few changes which in the final self-
assessment questionnaire that showed how much more confident I have become,
emotionally and mentally!
Service Learning Project
o I always appreciate the opportunity to work with the underprivileged of the
community.
o It gave me the chance to be a light to those who need encouragement by listening to
their stories and praying with them.
o It fulfilled a need to both the shelter and myself by allowing me to make hygiene
packets, check the food pantry for dented cans that could cause botulism, and
several other projects I was blessed to help with.
DAPPS Goal Setting
o I always have loved setting goals for myself, and DAPPS holds me accountable!
o So far to date, I have kept my goal that I set, which may not sound like much
(practicing 1-2 hours a day on vocal stretches and strengthening, breathing
techniques and diction as well as training on sight singing and ear training for this
semester), but it is quite a workout!
o I plan to continue with the DAPPS method for all goals I set, as I have found it to
be a very useful tool!
3. Top 3 Favorite Journals

4. Stress is such a killer….literally! I liked this module best because it is so very important to know how to
handle stress and deal with it….because frankly, what good is knowing how to study and perform deep
processing etc. if you can’t concentrate due to stress?!!!
Just a few bullet points on negative stress and how to handle it:
First the negative from physical stress
• increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, and chemical changes in the
body that do affect the immune system.
• Vulnerability, compromised network and social skills as well as coping and
problem solving skills.
• Worsening health outcomes, problems with alcohol and drugs,
depression/anxiety issues and a worsening quality of life.
Ways of handling stress
• Regular sleep routine, eating healthy, walking or exercising.
• Keeping in touch with friends, family and/or church family
• …and remembering the 10/90 rule: Stress is 10% of what actually happens
to you and 90% of how you react/respond to it.
5. Being good at a subject is inborn talent is a myth. Anyone can become anything
they want to be if they set their minds to it and have the determination, the
heart, and dedication to make it happen!
Four distinct principles in Achieving Deep Processing: elaboration (making
meaningful association between the concept you are studying and related
concepts); distinctiveness (making a clear contrast between the concepts you are
studying and other concepts); how to relate the concepts to your own personal
experiences; and applying the concept.
“Depth of processing matters, intentional learning does not! “ No matter how
you slice it, if you don’t know your material (not by memorization, but truly
learning the material), you are doing nothing more than daydreaming without the
drive!
