Joanna Lewis reflects on her favorite assignments, journals, and module from her nursing program. She enjoyed the DAPPS goal setting assignment, learning about finances through the Inceptia assignment, and writing a letter to future classes. Her favorite journals explored setting goals, overcoming obstacles, and processing grief. Module 3 stuck with her because it focused on envisioning her future after graduation. The most important lessons she learned were developing study habits, setting goals, and gaining confidence. Her self-assessment scores decreased upon retaking, but she feels she has grown in personal responsibility. Her goal is to graduate with her BSN in 2022 and work as a pediatric nurse.

2. 3 FAVORITE ASSIGNMENTS
DAPPS GOAL SETTING -This assignment helped me realize my goals. By finally putting
them on paper they started to feel more real to me. Now I can look back at this
assignment on my hard days and remember what I am working towards.
INCEPTIA FINANCIAL AVENUE-On this assignment I got a better view on the down
side of financial borrowing. I had always known that credit cards are dangerous but
now I understand why. I enjoyed learning how to stay on the positive side of
finances.
LETTER TO THE NEXT CLASS-This letter was fun to me because I wanted to let the
next class understand what this class is all about. When I started this class I was
oblivious to what this class was for.

3. 3 FAVORITE
JOURNALS
Chapter 3 Journal 11- This journal was all
about looking past all the schooling to the
end result. I liked writing this one because
I could dream big and imagine anything I
wanted. I like having this journal to look
back on when times get ruff.
Chapter 5 Journal 17- This journal was a
little bit of an eye opener for me. I learned
that I was the one standing in my own way
of success. I started a chore chart for my
family to help with the house work from
this journal. I now can stop worrying
about the little things and spend more
time with my family and more on my
school work.
Chapter 8 Journal 29- This journal was
harder for me to write because I wrote
about losing my dad. While writing this
journal I was bawling my eyes out but in a
crazy way it helped me. I am not one who
shows emotion so when I finally let my
self cry I felt at ease.

4. FAVORITE MODULE
• If I had to pick just one module to be my favorite it would probably be module 3. I choose this module
because it was focused more on the future and imagining where my life would be after school. I know
the assignments in this module will stick with me for a lifetime.

5. LESSONS I WILL CARRY WITH ME
• When I think about the lessons I learned in this class I’m not thinking about the assignments. I would
consider the life lessons I learned to be the ones I would carry with me for a lifetime. Some of those
lessons would be study habits and how to apply them in my future classes. Another would be that its
good to remind yourself what you working towards by setting big and little goals. Last but not least I will
absolutely always carry the confidence I obtained from this class.

6. BEFORE AND AFTER
• When I took my first self assessment quiz my scores were higher then when I took it the second time. I
think when I retook the self assessment the second time I was more honest with my answers then I was
the first. My personal responsibility score had dropped by 20 points but I feel that I take more
responsibility for my actions now than I did before I took the first self assessment. I don’t feel that my
scores actually reflect properly.

• My goal is to graduate in the spring of 2022

• My dream is to work in pediatrics.
