Presenting ;
WHEN HARMFUL SUBSTANCES CONTAMINATE THE
ENVIRONMENT IT IS CALLED POLLUTION.
W h a t I s P o l l u t i o n ? ? ?
POLLUTION REFERS TO THE VERY BAD CONDITION OF
ENVIRONMENT IN TERMS OF QUANTITY AND QUALITY.
TYPES OF POLLUTION:-
Radioactive Pollution,
Light Pollution,
Soil Pollution,
Noise Pollution,
Water Pollution,
Air Pollution,
Air pollution is contamination
of the indoor or outdoor
environment by any
chemical, physical or
biological agent that
modifies the natural
characteristics of the
atmosphere.
SOURCE’S OF AIR POLLUTION:-
 House Hold Combustion Devices,
 Motor Vehicles,
 Industrial Facilities,
 Forest Fires,
 Bombarding Of TNT and Explosives,
• Much More.
EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION :-
HUMAN HEALTH,
PLANTS,
ANIMALS HABITAT,
AND ATMOSPHERE too.
SOLUTIONS FOR AIR POLLUTION:-
Use Public mode of Transportation,
Conserve Energy,
Understand the concept of,
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,
Use Energy Efficient Devices,
And by many Means…..!!!
THE CONTAMINATION OF WATER
WITH UNDESIREABLE SUBSTANCES
WHICH MAKES IT UNFIT FOR
USAGE IS CALLED AS WATER
POLLUTION.
SOURCE’S OF WATER POLLUTION:-
Human
Waste
Chemical
Runoff
BioMedical
Waste
RadioActive
Waste
Industrial
Waste
Global
Warming
Accidental
OIL Spills
EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION:-
 Health aspects Of Water Quality,
 Extension Of Water bodies/Aquatic Life,
 Disruption Of Food Chain,
 Destruction of Ecosystem,
 Diseases,
And Much more.
SOLUTION FOR WATER POLLUTION :-
 Existence of “The Clean Water Act”,
 The Industries must treat their waste before letting into
sea,
 Save Water, avoid wasting,
 Water Transportation must be carried with great care,
 Avoid Throwing garbage's into sea and make less use of
plastics,
• And Few More.
Noise pollution is
displeasing or
excessive noise
that may disrupt
the activity or
balance of human
or animal life.
SOURCE’S OF NOISE POLLUTION:-
Commercial and Industrial
Activities
Machines
Vehicles
Insects
SocialEvents
Transportation
EFFECTS OF NOISE POLLUTION:-
 Hearing Problem,
 Severe Health disorder may led to deafness and may even
led to death,
 Sleeping Disorder,
 Cardiovascular Issue,
 Effects in Wildlife,
 Communication Problem,
• AND FEW ELSE….
SOLUTION FOR NOISE POLLUTION :-
 Sound-proof your space,
 Keep noisy machines away from your bedroom and living
areas,
 Spend time away from noise,
 Learn to meditate,
 Use earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones,
 Install noise-reducing insulation and glass.
Soil pollution as part of land
degradation is caused by the
presence of xenobiotic i.e.
human-made chemicals or
other alteration in the natural
soil environment. It is typically
caused by industrial activity,
agricultural chemicals, or
improper disposal of waste.
SOURCE’S OF SOIL POLLUTION:-
Industrial Activities,
Agricultural
Activities,
Acid Rain,
Waste Disposal,
Oil Spills.
EFFECTS OF SOIL POLLUTION:-
Effect on Health of Human,
Effect in Growth of Plant,
Decrease in Soil Fertility,
Change In Soil Structure.
 Toxic Dust,
SOLUTION FOR SOIL POLLUTION :-
Reduce Deforestation and Begin Reforestation,
Avoid Intensive Farming Practices,
Reduce Your ‘Waste Footprint’,
Discover Soil Washing,
Discover Bioremediation.
Light pollution, also
known as photo
pollution or luminous
pollution, is excessive,
misdirected, or
obtrusive artificial light.
Pollution is the adding-
of/added light itself, in
analogy to added
sound, carbon dioxide,
etc.
SOURCES OF LIGHT POLLUTION:-
Electronic Advertising Boards and Commercial
Centres,
Night Sports grounds,
Street Lights and Car Lights,
City Parks, Airports, public places,
Residential Areas,
Irresponsible use of Light.
EFFECT’S OF LIGHT POLLUTION:-
 It disturbs the life cycle of animals by letting them into
Human residential areas even in Night time which
further led to accidents.
 Some harmful lights radiation causes disease to
Human Kind such as cataract(Eye Disease) and may
even Led to Skin Cancer.
 Therefore, the Ecological balance of Earth Gets
disturbed and which further led to more problems in
nature.
SOLUTION FOR LIGHT POLLUTION:-
Planning Education
Planning means more
consideration about how areas
are zoned and where lights
are placed. It also means
changing the types of lights
used within the home, signs
and streetlamps to more
efficient bulbs, and with a light
output that is not so disruptive.
Education is also key. The
more people understand the
importance of turning off lights
to conserve energy and
reduce light pollution the faster
change will be seen.
The ability of certain
materials to emit the
proton, gamma rays
and electrons by their
nuclei is known as the
radioactivity, & when
nature is being polluted
by letting these into
free space further
forms Radioactive
Pollution.
 Radioactive Minerals,
 Cosmic Rays,
 Radio nuclides,
 Nuclear Power Plants,
 Nuclear Explosion,
 Radio-isotopes.
And More…!!!
SOURCE’S OF RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION:-
EFFECTS OF RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION:-
 Radiation splits the molecules of the tissues into ions
and free radicals and causes mutation by breaking
DNA (Deoxy ribonucleic acid) molecules in the
nucleus.
 Radiation may cause skin burns which may lead to
skin cancer.
 Radiation at pelvic regions of pregnant ladies, cause
damage to the foetus
 Radiation in bone marrow may cause Leukaemia.
SOLUTION FOR RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION:-
 Nuclear Tests must be banned or they must be handle with
a great care.
 Nuclear reactor should be perfectly maintained to avoid
accidental leakage.
 Care should be taken to check manmade radiation pollution
at source.
