2. POLITICS
Politics is the set of activities that are associated with making
decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations between
individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status. The
branch of social science that studies politics and government is
referred to as political science.
3. PLATFORM
A political party platform, party program, or party manifesto is a
formal set of principle goals which are supported by a political
party or individual candidate, in order to appeal to the general
public, for the ultimate purpose of garnering the general public's
support and votes about complicated topics or issues.
4. RIGHTS
Political rights refer to an individual's ability to participate in
the civil and political life of the society and state without fear of
discrimination or repression, and is tied closely to citizenship
status.
5. GOVERMENT
POLITICS
Government is closely related to politics. To
study politics is in essence to study
government or more broadly, to study the
exercise of authority. Politics is the art of
government, the exercise of control within
the society through the making and
enforcement of collective decisions.

What is the field of politics?
The overall field of political science includes several major
subfields: American politics, comparative politics, international
relations, political economy, and political philosophy. Most
political science departments at universities encourage
students to specialize or concentrate in one of these
subfields.
7. IMPORTANCE OF
STUDYING POLITICS
The purpose of our major is to deepen
knowledge and understanding of one of
the most powerful forces operating on
people, communities and corporations
today, namely government and politics in
the USA and around the world. This
knowledge and understanding is valuable
for all citizens.
8. 4 TYPES OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
The department's instruction and research, including
ongoing seminars and workshops, are structured
around four traditional subfields: American politics,
comparative politics, international relations, and
political theory.
9. THE POLITICS DEAL WITH
Politics comprises all the activities of co-operation, negotiation
and conflict within and between societies, whereby people go
about organizing the use, production or distribution of human,
natural and other resources in the course of the production and
reproduction of their biological and social life.
10. Political theory is the study of
political ideas and values like
justice, power and democracy that
we use to describe, understand and
assess political practices and
institutions.
