1. DG & IGP’s Note
All of us have contributed in some way or the other to the development of
Police IT, an effective tool for modern day policing. Police IT today is in its final
stages of completion going through last round of change requests, pilot and the
like. Three modules are ready, Wireless, Armed Reserve and Motor Transport and
would be deployed on the 6th of April at 11am by the Hon’ble Home Minister of
Karnataka, Dr. V.S. Acharya, in an inaugural ceremony to mark the occasion.
This is the first major milestone of the project.
Needless to say, the deployment needs very complex preparation and the
capability creation to run the same is equally difficult. Major infrastructural
needs have been taken care but correct status on the functioning should be
known to the Unit Officers and we should be communicated of the same. They
are also advised to go through all these modules and be conversant with the
software.
As these modules go live any of the officers can be requested to interact
with us through the software. There are end users at all your locations who are
already been trained by us. System Administrators, Nodal Officers etc are all in
place. Our helpdesk would start functioning shortly. All of us are duty bound to
switch over to Police IT as early as possible. We will do whatever it takes to
execute the project as seamlessly as possible to the satisfaction of one and all.
Your complete knowledge of the modules, being conversant with the usage of
different modules, supervision, monitoring and control of the IT infrastructure
and human resources and finally total commitment and involvement to this
cause can make it happen. The pilots of different modules in different units are
functioning successfully.
Police IT is our project and together we will make it successful
