3. • All PCs, PCSOs and specialist officers and staff are
being equipped with a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4
smartphone or Galaxy Tab Active 8” tablet (depending on
their personal choice).
• These devices will help to revolutionise the way we work,
by giving secure access to a range of core policing
systems through ground-breaking and intuitive user-
friendly software.

4. • Deploy all devices during 2015, accelerated to build
momentum
• Creating Change Champions across the Force
• Partnership working to enable new capability and drive
innovation

5. • Until now, information would be recorded
in pocket notebooks, before returning to
the station to be typed into the relevant
systems.
• Now, tasks can be completed on the
move, meaning officers spending more
time on the ground, in our communities,
fighting crime and keeping people safe
and reassured.
• 30+ Processes with the highest impact
on instantaneous information availability,
and reducing rework and bureaucracy
will be delivered over the next 12-18
months.

6. • A mobile worker needs more than
processes:
– Integrated access to emails, and calendars.
– Mapping, fully integrated with our core software
– Secure access to fileshares, the internet and
intranet is just around the corner – giving high
levels of usability without compromising on
security.
– Police App Store to allow access to a range of
approved apps for officers to choose the ones
most appropriate to their role - covering everything
from community engagement, to domestic
violence referrals working closely with Information
Assurance.

Independent Custody Visits

7. • Increased visibility – highest rates of PCSO visibility
recorded by the Force.
• More than 15,000 Statements taken, and 8,000
Domestic Incident Risk Assessments
• Involvement of Officers from concept to deployment
• Fast issue resolution is vital for credibility
• Embedding changed processes is much easier when we
listen and respond
• Trust is vital, and support has to be tailored
