  10. 10. • Training should be an ongoing process. • Enough resources should be available at all units to work on all modules of Police IT. Application Training IT. • Crime, L&O and Traffic modules are being deployed phase wise.
  11. 11. • All the officers/officials who have been transferred to the unit, should be trained immediately by the existing staff who are already trained in Police IT. Application Training trained in Police IT. • Police Computer Wing has trained all the critical end users for using Police IT. • But to implement the software, all the end users should be trained on application.

Officers should not wait for any communication of Police Computer Wing for conducting application training The Unit Officer should owe the responsibility to train all the Application Training (Contd..) The Unit Officer should owe the responsibility to train all the end users. A training server may be set up at the unit level to conduct training. At least one officer/official in every unit (including Police Stations) should be conversant with all the modules
  13. 13. In case any assistance is required Unit Officers/ Nodal Officers should contact IGP, PCW. Officers have never contacted IGP, PCW regarding any issues related to training/ implementation of Application Training (Contd..) any issues related to training/ implementation of Police IT. Core team for Police IT training should be setup by Nodal officers.
  14. 14. • Nodal Officers should drive the training of Police IT application in their respective units. • Nodal Officers should conduct refresher training for all Application Training (Contd..) • Nodal Officers should conduct refresher training for all the modules every 6 months. • Nodal officer should monitor the progress of all the modules and decide the requirements of training in their respective units.

Police IT- Module Status • Four modules deployed on the 6th April 2011 • FSL, Wireless, AR & MT • Large number of pilots held last year • Pilot of Crime, Law & Order and Traffic successfully functioning in 11 Districts, 3 Commissionerates and 4 divisions of Bangalore • Phased deployment to be completed by the end of May 2011

Police IT- Module Status • MIS module has been developed, would be improved based on the feedback of deployment. • It is being effectively used across 18 units• It is being effectively used across 18 units • Training module is under pilot since 4th Oct 2010 • Pilot for Finance and Stores on 5th April 2011 • Software is fully complete but for CR4 changes in Admin module and gradual improvements in MIS

How many of them know the actual status of the modules, location wise and usage wise?the modules, location wise and usage wise? How many of you still feel that the work of computerization pertains to System Administrators and Computer Operators How many of you give a report to your boss on return and discuss issues in detail, action to be taken and fix timelines to review?

  26. 26. KSP Wide Area Network 39 locations 2 Mbps leased line 10 Mbps aggregation bandwidth 1400 remote locations, 512 Kbps, VPNoBB 4 Mbps internet leased line
  27. 27. KSP Wide Area Network MPLS • All 39 links are working fine. • These links are being monitored using NMS. • More services will be installed in these locations to provide faster access. i.e., A/V Update agent, Patch management, ADC, etc.,
  28. 28. KSP Wide Area Network VPNoBB • 1396 Locations are connected with VPNoBB. • All are working fine. • 4 locations are not feasible. Alternate connectivity will be provided soon.
  29. 29. KSP Wide Area Network •Fixed IP implementation has been completed in 1348 Locations. •Shifting of VPNoBB connection for newly created PSs are in progress. •Unsecured Wi-Fi should be disabled. •licenses will be installed by end of this month.
  30. 30. KSP Wide Area Network •A dedicated team is deployed for Data Center Management on 24/7. • Active Directory implementation will be carried out across the state. This will enable us for centralizedacross the state. This will enable us for centralized management, Patch management, Police based management and single sign on for multiple services. •Antivirus software will be installation is under progress. all 3000 licenses will be installed end of this month.
