The impact of Industry-4.0, and disruptive technologies demand industry ready graduates. This PPT gives a method planning industry specific engineering programs.
Most of the engineering colleges neglect counselling, coaching and mentoring their students. The loss is unlimited. This PPT provides needed guidelines for effectively counsel, coach and mentor their students.
The faculty members need to know the process of planning the participate instruction in engineering courses. this PPT provides a set of guidelines in planning and delivering effective instructions.
The faculty members have to know about their students backgrounds, their motivation, career planning, and their personal needs. This PPT provides more about guiding the students for better performance.
National Education Policy directs the development of curriculum through problem-based learning. This approach will enable the graduates to acquire needed skills and competencies to meet the needs of the fast growing industries.
Evaluation plays a lot in teaching. Most of the faculty members have not undergone any pre-service training on teaching and learning. Some attempts to undergo in-service programs. The institutes could offer more in-service courses to improve the competencies of the faculty members.
Performance appraisal is an important activity and to be planned to improve the performance of employees. They should be counselled, motivated, coached and mentored to reach best performance standards.
Academic excellence through improved ecosystem and faculty engagement (3)Thanikachalam Vedhathiri
academic excellence deeply depends on the improved ecosystem. It centers around the continuous development of faculty members. ROI also improves through faculty development. The quality of the graduates is based on the planning of academic activities of the faculty members
Most of the MSMEs may have funds for hiring consultants to diagnose their problems and offer very effective solutions. The postgraduate students have to develop industry-specific solutions under the dissertations. This reserach study shows that the postgraduate students of M.tech (HRD) have been introduced to undertake dissertations from MSMEs. They offered solutions for the problemd faced by many MSMEs..
Academic excellence through improved ecosystem and faculty engagement (4)Thanikachalam Vedhathiri
Engineering institutes have to establish an improved academic ecosystem for faculty development. Without such transformations, the faculty members can not become leaders who have to focus on graduate students, consultancy projects, interdisciplinary research, intellectual property development, and internal revenue generation.
Engineering colleges have to be innovation centers for training and developing engineering graduates, assisting the industries through consultancy centers, and planning diverse global faculty development. The institutes have to become virtual centers for human resouce development.
Engineering Education Research focuses on high-quality outcomes for the development of regional competition. The outcomes will benefit the students, industries and economy.
Enhancing Interdisciplinary Research in Engineering in Engineering EducationThanikachalam Vedhathiri
Industries depend on interdisciplinary graduates who can take up many complex problems and solve them to create innovative products. This study focuses on planning appropriate interdisciplinary research products.
The North-Eastern States of India is very rich in natural resources, minerals, water, and coal deposits. The Look East Policy of India focuses on the exploitation of minerals, processing them, and establish modern industries for export. The Third World Bank assisted project development needed polytechnics to support the industrial growth through developing technicians. It is verified through the impact study. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
3. Industry Relevant/Specific Curriculum
Curriculum has to be developed to meet the attributes of
the graduates to become industry ready
Part-time learners who are from the industries will have
desired experience in working in the industry
The fresh students will not have needed exposure to the
industry, manufacturing process, testing, and maintenance
skills.
They need appropriate models so that they can operate and
understand the mechanism.
4. Students’ Learning Difficulties
Most of the first year engineering students have not been
exposed to modern industrial layouts
Would not seen the working of the large machines
They have to create an image of defined concepts
For effective learning, the faculty members have to prepare
appropriate learning aids, print materials design and
drawing manuals, operation manuals, maintenance manuals,
etc.
5. Need for Instructional/Learning Aids
To learn the working mechanism of moving parts
To understand the cut models which can be electrically
operated
To operate the machines as per the safe work practices
To dismantle and examine the worn out components
To replace the worn out or damaged components
To check the energy consumption
To check the warning signals when the system is failing

one portion then only he/she can be allowed to go to next module
Best method for mastery
13. Advantages in Developing Multimedia
Learning Packages for Industries
Big market is available
Global market is readily available
One can plan and conduct executive development programs
for MNCs
The faculty can bid for global projects under International
Development Agencies/ MNCs
Cost of the software is very reasonable for educational
institutions
Faculty have to master instructional design, developing
questions, testing, and planning total training programs.
15. Video Production
We need video camera, lighting, computer for creating animation, voice recorder,
and editing equipment.
All these are done in a sound proof studio.
We need an author/ expert faculty member who can prepare the story board.
Author has to visualize the final video at the time of writing the storyboard.
He /she is the brain of the video program
Director is guided by the author for choosing the place/ industry/lab where the
production has to be done
Camara man will be actually recording the event.
The Reader will read the information to be recorded in the studio
The Editor will be will be responsible to prepare the voice recording, adding the
field short or animation.
16. Story Board for Video Production
Content Field Short
Content provides the material that is to
be added to the video shot.
The technical expert or the faculty has to
conduct a research and prepare the
needed information.
This can be a working step,
Or narration to describe the working,
Or the details of the project.
Or slide that has to be added to the
visual during editing.
Content has to be recorded and the
visuals are to be added in the studio by
the editor.
The camera man recors the field shot
based on the content.
The director will choose the place based
on the narration.
Also he directs the cameraman to zoom,
Pan, or slow rotation of the camera
17. Audio Cassettes
Some times one has to record the noise of working
machine,
Or a discussion with an expert or field engineer or a
complaint of a user
Or a speech of an expert
Audio Cassettes can be prepared using appropriate audio
recorders
18. Video Cassettes
Video recoding can be transferred to CDs and many copies
can be duplicated.
19. YouTube Videos
Faculty members can choose appropriate videos and save
for the class presentation
Many YouTube videos are available on industrial production,
management, maintenance, etc.
Field works like pile driving, the working of heavy earth
moving machines, etc. are available.
22. Working Models
Many manufactures are producing working models
Some are electrically operated
Some are mechanically operated
Some are cut models so the students can see the
component, shape, etc.
They can be purchased based on the curriculum
26. Museum Visits
Faculty members can take the students to museum
for learning
There are special museums are in the country
Museum visits can be part of educational tours
28. Industrial Visits
Industrial visits, on the job training, and internships are
essential for better learning.
Companies will provide stipend for Internships
During Internship, the students will be given a project by the
company.
29. Visits to Exhibitions Conducted by the
Manufacturers
Excellent learning opportunities for knowing new
products
Learn about the producers
Can learn about the cost, use, quality, advantages, etc.
Will be useful for product design
Will be useful to face interviews
Students can also look for job opportunities.
31. Most Simple Method of Developing the
Students towards Entrepreneurship.
Give a cost calculation /estimation project
Take them around the town market
Let them assess the cost of desirable products, quality,
specification, durability, maintainability, etc.
Let them prepare a cost estimate for the given project
They will become entrepreneurs one day!
