This document contains planning for a magazine focused on rock and heavy metal music. It includes a style sheet outlining font and color choices in red, orange, black, white and grey. Main text will be in Arial Narrow font sizes between 11-14pt. The front cover plan features a dark background with a band image and orange text. The contents page places a band image on the right with a dark grey background. A double page story spread will feature a band photo on the left with a grey background and black text. Photograph plans show studio shots of bands from different angles to portray a rock style.

Style sheet:
I used colours such as orange and red is they represent angry and heavy metal music is
quite angry and powerful music. I also used them because they are bright and will catch
customers eyes. I involved colours such as black, white and grey. These colours will be
used inside the magazine for text because its more of an less harsh colour to the eye and
we are also used to reading in black and white as I will demonstrate why we prefer to
read in black and white.

Red is mainly for outlining images and headlines. Orange is used for advertising and
additional cover lines on the front of the front of the magazine. Black, white and grey are
used for writing inside of the magazine.
The reason for my masthead called bash is because it looks like its been bashed. The
word bash describes heavy metal and rock. I chose red to give it a evil look about it and
white and so it can stand out from the black background I'm going to apply to my image
on front page. Most magazine font sizes are 14pt between 11pt. I've decided to use Arial
fonts through out my magazine because they are bold fonts.

8. Evaluation of planning
Flat plan:
My flat plan involves loads of information in it. This
information will be reviews of albums and single. Also
includes charts in there. Will also include gig information.
My magazine is going to be aimed at young people such as
people in the teen years. I’ve added many posters in my
flat plan because young people tend to relate to images
more than older people because they find them more
interesting. I've included stories about celebrities e.g. rock
and heavy metal bands.

9. Evaluation of planning
Plan of front cover:
I will have a picture of a band on my front cover because
most rock/ heavy metal magazines tend to always have a
band on the front cover of their pages, usually the image is
quite dark so I decided that I will make my image dark by
applying a black background to my front cover. This is why I
have a magazine logo that is white because white stands
out from the dark background. All my cover lines will be
orange to stand out from the dark background and to make
it eye catching for customers.

10. Evaluation of planning
Plan of contents page:
I will have a picture or lead band signer on the right hand
side of the contents page that will have a dark background
behind him. My contents title will be Arial Black font and the
colour will be white against the dark grey background. My
contents will be inside this trapezium shape that's red. I
used red to make it stand out.

Plan of double page spread:
I will have a story about are main band and on the left i will
have another group photo of the band with a dark
background behind them. I use a grey background and
black writing because non of these colours are harsh and
bright to make the eye strain. I will also add an other
picture in the story of the band again. The title on the
double page spread will be ‘THIS IS ARE STORY’ in Arial
Black font black.
