2. Style sheet
I like this font because it suits the style of the magazine and
the type of music covered in it. The font is bold and easily
catches peoples eyes if over a white background
This font is quite slick and very professional
looking, but at the same time it is bold and eye
catching. I think it would suit the style of the
magazine very well, maybe not for the main
headline, but for the articles inside.
This font is similar to the previous one. The only
difference is that I think this one look good used as a
main headline on the magazines front cover. This font
stands out much more than the previous one and the
letters are less slanted.
I like this font because it looks a bit rough,
I think I would use this for the name of the
magazine on the front cover. This font is
bold and very eye catching. The style also
suits the overall feel I am going for with
the magazine.
I will use all sorts of colours in my final
product. I will mainly be using darker
colours, colours such as black, blue, red,
purple and white. The colour scheme
for the front will be mostly dark with a
few buzzwords in a different colour to
make them stand out more.

3. This is the magazine I am using as inspiration for
my own. I am using this one because it has Corey
Taylor on the front. I like the overall design. It has
a simple look to it but still has lots of information
about what's inside
These magazines all have a similar feel to them. They all feel quite crowded but in a way that
makes you want to read them and doesn’t scare the reader away. They have a lot of pictures and
colours on them making them stand out. They all have the people featured on the front cover
covering the name of the magazine. Showing that this magazine has a loyal fan base that will buy
no matter what. It also gives the people on the front cover more room and a better chance to
catch peoples eye so fans of the band/ artist will see them and instantly recognise them.

4. These are the double page spreads I will be using as
inspiration. I like theses because they all have one single
page dedicated to a single person/ artist. I want to do
something similar with mine. They all have a simple
design with text reading downwards. The colour of the
headline is also the colour of the boarder of the page
that runs at the top and around the sides. The same
colour is also used for any additional text used on the
side with the band members

5. Layout 1
This a rough layout of what I would like my
finished product to be. I have put the band
“Slipknot” on the cover so to keep in with
their style and I have used more dark colours.
I have put the bands logo over them so people
that aren’t aware know who they are. I also
made this logo very big and the red stands out
over the black background. I did this to catch
peoples eye when its on the shelf.

go for a simple look and

but doesn’t look too weird.
I made the word “Free much
bigger than the rest of the text.
I did this to make it stand out
when quickly scanning the
cover. I also made this text red
so it fits in with the “Slipknot”
logo at the bottom. Making the
two most important things on
the front cover red so they
stand out more.

6. Layout 2
This is my original double page spread layout design. I wanted the interview to be the main feature of the
magazine so I made the double page spread stand out as much as possible. I made the right page black and
the text white. I also had a full image of all the band members on the left page hand side page. The picture
I chose is nine little pictures all lined up to make one. The pictures are quite grey and are almost black and
white. I chose this because it fits in with the overall image I was going for. Black and white was theme of
the front cover so I thought the same colour scheme would make sense here.
