 A Pill which consists of a camera is Pill Camera
 It can travel through your body to capture pictures that
helps in diagnosing problems which doctors
previously found through surgeries.
 Size of this is 26*11mm and it has capability of
transmitting 50,000 color images
 Endoscopy: Endoscopy is a procedure in
which doctors use endoscope to view and
operate internal organs of a body.
 Examples: Bronchoscopy, Enteroscopy.

1) Optical Dome:
 It is the front part of the capsule and it is bullet shaped
which helps in easy propelling of the capsule.
 It consists of Light Receiving Window.
2) Lens Holder:
 It is that part of capsule that accommodates lens.
 The lens is tightly fixed to the holder so that it does
not dislocated anytime.
3) Lens:
 It is the integral component of the capsule.
4) Illuminating LED’s:
 These illuminate objects.
 Four LED’s are present in donut shape.
5) CMOS Image Sensor:
 CMOS sensor is highly sensitive and produces high
quality images.
 It has 1400 field of view and can detects objects as
small as possible.
6) Battery:
 Silver Oxide primary batteries are used.
 These batteries have good operating period,
disposable and does not cause any harm to the
human body.
 Discharge characteristics of this battery are flatter.
7) ASIC Transmitter:
 ASIC transmitter is arranged behind batteries.
 Two transmitting electrodes are connected to the
outlines of ASIC transmitter.
 These electrodes are electrically isolated from each
other.
8) Antenna:
 Antenna is arranged at the end of the capsule.
 It receives data from ASIC transmitter and sends to
the data recorder.
 Painless
 Easy procedure
 Made of bio-compatible material, does not cause any
harm to body.
 The Pill will get stuck if there is a partial obstruction in
the small intestine.
 Impossible to control camera behavior.
 The Given Endoscopy capsule is a pioneering
concept for Medical Technology of the 21st century.
 The endoscopy system is the first of its kind to be able
to provide non- invasive imaging of the entire small
intestine.
 It has revolutionized the field of diagnostic imaging
to a great extent and has proved to be of great help
to physicians all over the world.
