Pablo Picasso was a highly influential 20th century Spanish painter and sculptor who helped found the Cubist movement. He spent most of his career in France. Some of Picasso's most famous works include Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and Guernica. After moving to Paris in 1900, Picasso experienced extreme poverty and often burned his work to keep warm. He went by the single name Picasso starting in 1901 when he co-founded a magazine illustrating the poor conditions of many people.
