Apex Connector for Lightning Connect: Make Anything a Salesforce ObjectSalesforce Developers
You've experienced the speed and ease of integration that Lightning Connect provides for OData, but now you want to connect to that other data source. The Apex Connector provides a coding framework to create your own connector to any external data. Once connected, the external is represented with the same Lightning Connect external object API. To set the stage, you will see a standard Lightning Connect implementation, moving to a use case with the Apex Connector, and finishing reading data from Google Drive.
Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at a Lightning Connect POC with our Salesforce org. In the spirit of the Salesforce1 Platform, we will use point-and-click configuration from end to end. You will get a realistic account of connecting to systems behind corporate firewalls to better understand what roles are involved, and considerations for accessing external systems.
Do you want to be able to integrate external systems to Salesforce without copying the data and be able to write back to that system? Join us to go through several techniques that will allow you to leverage Lightning Connect's new write capability to its fullest potential. We'll show you how to build robust two-way integrations using a variety of declarative and programmatic tools and techniques. In addition, we'll explore common pitfalls like high operation latency and transaction semantics to help you avoid potential failures.
As your Salesforce implementations become more complex, working with multiple orgs becomes a standard hurdle. Connecting with the correct data, at the correct time, when you have multiple orgs can be very difficult. Join us as we explore the new Lightning Connect: Salesforce Adapter. We'll examine how Admins can connect multiple orgs together, how data can be shared between those orgs, and how you can continue to build a complete view of your customers.
When you unlock SAP with the Salesforce App Cloud, you can get more out of your back office data. You can quickly deliver value with new apps that help every department and employee be more productive, and move at the speed of the business. WEBINAR: Proven Patterns for Loading Test Data for Managed Package TestingCodeScience
Scratch orgs are extremely valuable tools for Salesforce developers, but due to their individual, disposable nature, a source of truth for QA data is often not accounted for. Without a single repository for QA data, many developers may be testing against incomplete data sets, skewing their results. In our latest tech webinar, we discuss implications planning for QA data can have on Salesforce development.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- Why it’s essential to have a plan in place early on how to deploy data to scratch orgs and QA orgs.
- Shortcuts which can inadvertently hide bugs that don't manifest until tested with real data, and lengthen the time it takes to complete a task.
- Strategies for maintaining data models as projects progress and as data is added or removed to stay realistic and current.
CodeScience Lead Salesforce Developer, Bobby Tamburrino will dive into these topics and provide key insights that can help ISVs succeed on the AppExchange.

Denver MuleSoft Meetup: Approve this! (or reject this!) with MuleSoft and SlackBig Compass
There are many business processes that require application of dynamic business rules and manual approval steps. Traditionally, in order to implement these use cases, you needed the following software components:
• Heavyweight business process engine
• Rules engine
• Human workflow engine
Let’s be honest. There may be some complex outliers, but overall, this solution is excessive and expensive to maintain. There has to be a better way that meets business needs using tools that my business users are already using.
Well, there is.
We will discuss how to implement these use cases using platforms you already have: MuleSoft and Slack.
We’ll also discuss how the implementation leverages your API-led connectivity methodology. Specifically, we’ll cover the following details:
• How to add human approvals to your API ecosystem
• How to implement some common Human Workflow solutions using MuleSoft and Slack
• How to maintain a business rules solution using Slack
If you don’t use Slack, that’s OK, we’ll discuss how API-led connectivity lets you replace Slack with your corporate business communication platform such as Microsoft Teams or Google Chat/Spaces.
After this meetup, you’ll have a better understanding on how to leverage MuleSoft for use cases that typically might not be recognized as traditional MuleSoft use cases. Furthermore, you’ll reconnect with other Muleys that are based in Colorado!
As always, our in-person meetup has trivia questions that give you the chance to win some SWAG and a MuleSoft training voucher. Of course, we’ll supply hors d'oeuvres and libations.
