1. I used the eraser tool to
remove the bottom of the
image.

the layer, then i clicked
layer, layer style, outer
glow.
I added an outer glow around the
characters as this is a typical
convention of magazines.
Then I changed
the opacity and
spread to get my
desired effect.

3. For my billboard used a
gradient fill for my
background.
I then adjusted it so I got the right gradient

characters on the
background

4. I needed to get I used the eyedropper tool to
get the exact purple colour.
