Photography Essay Topics
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Photography Essay Topics" can be a challenging yet
rewarding endeavor. The intricacies lie in the vastness of the topic itself, as photography
encompasses a multitude of themes, techniques, and historical perspectives. Navigating through
the expansive realm of photography requires a comprehensive understanding of its various
genres, such as portrait, landscape, documentary, and experimental photography.
One of the challenges is selecting a specific aspect of photography that resonates with the writer
and aligns with the intended message of the essay. The process involves thorough research to
delve into the history of photography, the evolution of camera technology, and the impact of
photographers on society and culture. Additionally, addressing contemporary trends and debates
within the photographic community adds depth to the essay.
The technical aspects of photography, such as composition, lighting, and post-processing
techniques, further contribute to the complexity of the task. Describing the visual language of
photographs and interpreting the emotions and stories they convey requires a keen eye and a
nuanced understanding of artistry.
Moreover, an effective essay on photography should not merely recount facts but should also
analyze and critique different perspectives. This involves exploring the ethical considerations in
photography, discussing the role of photography in shaping public opinion, and evaluating the
cultural significance of iconic images.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to balance technical details with artistic expression,
ensuring that the essay appeals to both photography enthusiasts and a broader audience.
Communicating the passion and fascination for the subject while maintaining academic rigor
demands a delicate balance in the narrative.
In conclusion, tackling a photography essay requires a harmonious blend of technical knowledge,
historical insight, and artistic appreciation. It demands the ability to articulate complex ideas in a
clear and engaging manner, making the essay both informative and enjoyable for the reader.
While the task may be daunting, the opportunity to explore the multifaceted world of
photography makes the endeavor worthwhile.

The Impact Of Electric Vehicles On The Future Of Electric...
Context and Background
Electric vehicles have been around far longer than their fossil fuel powered
counter parts. They have been popular as early as the late 19th century and the
early part of the 20th century. One of the best selling vehicles at the point was the
Columbia Runabout, which could go 40miles on a single charge and run at speed
up to 25 kmph. They were initially considered a safer option when compared to
cars powered by fossil fuels, as initial ICI cars were prone to backfire. This all
changed with the mass production and the technological advancements when it
came to ICE (Internal Combustion Engines) [1]. When Ford started mass
producing their cars and fuel prices began to drop, advancements in electric
vehicles came to a halt. There has been a slow resurgence in interest for Electric
vehicles from the late 70 s when the damage that the fossil fuel powered cars were
causing to the environment was slowly being understood. Yet the public acceptance
of electric vehicles has been less than enthusiastic. This can be attributed to the low
prices of gasoline and push by petroleum giants against electric car initiatives and
public aversion to buying electric cars owing to their high prices, their low resale
value and lack of infrastructure for charging. But with the recent success of Electric
Vehicles in California and Estonia, it would be time to look at ways to implement an
infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Australia and spread awareness among the
public.
Transcontinental Railroad Railroads
Railroads were a huge step in innovations for the United States. The transcontinental
Railroad was
Built from 1863 to 1869. Taking over six years, the railroad stretched almost 2,000
miles, connecting the Mississippi rivers to the Pacific Coast in San Francisco.
Although the transcontinental railroad was one of the biggest things to happen in the
railroad industry, there was many other railroads that caused significance. Through
the 1850 s and 1860 s alone over 50,000 miles of railroad were built throughout the
United States. And with all these railroads being built they were sure to leave impact
on many other industries. One of the most important changes that the railroads caused
was the increase of convenience
For citizens all throughout the United States. By traveling via train passengers
could reach their destination in 90% of the time compared to the travel methods
before. This also caused a large increase in Western Settlement. Now, families did
not have to worry about the harsh and long travel they would have had to make to
go West just a few years before. People did not have to worry about weather, supply
shortage, disease, and more, as railroad travel helped all of those situations. However,
every good thing has a bad side, and it is important to note that the increase of
Western Settlement forced more Indians out of their land, which began to cause
violence between white men and Indians. The railroads also affected agriculture
throughout the
Environmental Sanctions And Safety Standards
Introduction
Coal is king. The coal industry controls the economy of states, and states rely on it
for electricity. However, many families involved in the industry of coal are
experiencing profound economic difficulty. This must be resolved to improve the
economic disparity in West Virginia, a state known for a large coalmining industry.
Many mining families experience this economic difficulty, particularly due to health
risks and job situations.
Much research has been done into the effects of a large coal industry. In just the past
twenty years, air pollution from coal plants have shortened the lives of more than
half a million Americans. (Jeff Goodell, 2006). Mining kills; and it even affects those
uninvolved in the production of it. There are a vast amount of environmental
sanctions and safety standards in mines. These are laws and regulations meant to
protect the population, yet most do not follow them correctly. Companies must pay
for all of this, however paying for regulations cuts into profit margins. These
companies manage to still make profit by shutting down deficit mines, but mainly
make up costs by laying off employees. This process results in a never ending cycle
of downtrodden individuals trying to make ends meet. Mining is a neutral party, it
has negatives and positives, both of which impact the Appalachia community
significantly.
Mining has a vast assortment of negatives that are constantly being discussed. Mining
can damage the environment and
The Beginning A History Of New Zealand s Ufo Activity
the Beginning... A history of New Zealand s UFO activity BY TONY LUCAS 12/01
/2014 UFO SIGHTINGS
Historically, most of the Northern Hemisphere holds the attention of many when it
comes to paranormal activity, UFO s, Cryptozoology and strange phenomena.
UFO
What I hope to bring forth in these articles is the often not heard of Phenomena that is
just as prevalent in the Southern Hemisphere.
As an Independent UFO Investigator myself I will however ask the readers
forgiveness if I often indulge myself in that field.
Being a New Zealander, it is often not recognized that New Zealand has many
unheard of mysteries and its fair share of UFO activity. We also have our own
version of Bigfoot known as the Moehau, also a mystery otter like creature, alien big
cats, and more. Our nearest neighbor, Australia also has its fair share of UFO
sightings, Criptids (animals that are not known or presumed extinct), and strange
phenomena.
As a UFO Investigator, I like to make quite clear how easy it is to be fooled. Often,
what we think we see is not what it appears to be. In the case of UFO s, weather
balloons, the planet Venus, satellites and other man made phenomena are often
mistaken for UFOs. My belief is that once you have eliminated all the obvious and,
sometimes the not so obvious, whatever you are left with must be the answer.
New Zealand has a long history of UFO activity beginning in the late 19th century
with the airship flap of the period, when there was a rash of sightings of
The Future Of The Parks
Parks have been around for many years. They truly have impacted not only
suburbs, but they have majorly impacted cities. Without the invention of parks it
would be hard to escape city life. Cities are still changing from what they used to be
and how they are designed. However the future of the parks is unsure due to funding
and lack of maintenance. The first idea of a parkwas from William Penn in 1682. He
created a plan for Philadelphia to have five areas of park like land. Then James
Oglethorpe had an idea in 1733 for Savannah. He established a system, where
neighborhoods were revolved around a square (Schuyler, 2015). The first recorded
urban parkwas Fairmount Gardens. It was created in 1812, in Philadelphia when
they constructed their waterworks. The park first started off at five acres,
surrounding the waterworks. The park had become so popular that in 1828 they
expanded it to twenty eight acres. In 1850, Lemon Hill and Sedgley estates were
added to Fairmount, which made the popularity of the park increase. People
thought the park site was chosen because of the class of people that lived there, but
that was not the case. The land was chosen because it was too elevated. Since the
land was so elevated that made it too hard to build and expensive to build anything
there or to build roads on that kind of land (Schuyler, 2015). Parksthen became very
popular in cities. William Cullen Bryant and Andrew Jackson Downing became the
faces behind the idea of
Examples Of Greed In The Great Gatsby
Wealth has often consumed the lives people in the past, corrupting them and
causing people to make bad decisions due to this greed. Wealth and greed will
continue to take over others lives for as long as the human race still exists. The
desire for wealth and greed as shown in the The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott
Fitzgerald by some characters intense obsession with money, lavish lifestyles, and
their sense of entitlement, ultimately putting other characters in harm s way. Greed
takes its toll on Daisy as one of the main characteristics she looks for in a man is in
fact his wealth, and that man s personality takes a backseat when Daisy is falling in
love with someone. This is clearly exhibited when she visits Gatsby s house.
Throughout the visit she is clearly in awe with Gatsby s house and his belongings.
She is close to breaking down and exclaims that Gatsby has such beautiful shirts...it
makes [her] sad because [she s] never seen such beautiful shirts before (Fitzgerald
92). Daisy is clearly thinking about what she and Gatsby could have been as a
couple, now that she realizes that Gatsby is not poor anymore, but instead filthy
rich. It is not that she misses Gatsby s personality, but rather his wealth. The desire
for wealth that Daisy has leads her to taking advantage of Gatsby s love for her. She
lets Gatsby take the blame for killing Myrtle in the car accident, showing that she did
not care about Gatsby, but that she knew deep down that their relationship was
Pope Francis Research Papers
Each year we encounter new people and new events that seemingly shake up the
world around us. One of these people whom we encountered in 2013 was Pope
Francis. Almost every Christian and non Christian knows something about Pope
Francis. He was named person of the year by Time Magazine, referred to as an
inspiration by Catholics around the world, and he seemed to win the hearts of all
Christians with his charm. He especially has seemed successful at attracting young
adults and millenials to faith, a feat that is usually too difficult for even the most
experienced pastor to succeed at doing. Pope Francis certainly became popular in
2013. His charm, his honesty, his devotion to God, and even his ability to be on
social media all added... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The missional task of discipleship. How do we prepare ourselves to nurture ourselves
or others when they hear a call in their lives such as that of Jesus. A call that simply
says Follow Me. A call toward a life shaped by Jesus for the rest of their days. Maybe
it is a call to a specific task, maybe it s a call to a new vocation, or maybe it s a call
to make disciples for Jesus. How do we as Christians prepare ourselves and others
for this kind of call to discipleship this kind of life transforming trust and faith in
Jesus Christ and what God has planned for our lives? It is all through faith. Through
trusting and believing in Jesus Christ. And we have to have faith and trust no matter

A Sucessful Ruler in Machiavelli s Eyes Essay
Many factors went into determining whether or not a prince or king was
successful or not. Some of these factors were simple things such as the king s
personality or the method by which he comes to power. Niccolo Machiavelli wrote
this book as a guide for Lorenzo Medici to become a good ruler. He describes these
factors, but attributes most leaders achievements to their taking advantage of local
circumstances. Machiavelli attributes military victory to having a strong army
composed of native soldiers and strongly discourages using a mercenaryarmy. The
availability of soldiers is a local circumstance that can result in victory or defeat for a
king. Another important local factor that can determine a thriving leader involves the
land... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hiring of mercenaries has lead to the downfall of many great empires and
kingdoms. The Roman Empire was brought down, in part, because of their growing
reliance on disloyal mercenaries to control the frontier borders. The most crushing
example of mercenaries leading to self destruction is gone into great detail by
Machiavelli when he describes how they have lead to the ruin of his dear Italy. We
can see throughout history that the most successful armies have been compiled of
native, home grown troops. Many examples are given, including the armies of Hiero
of Syracuse, Charles VII, and even David of the Old Testament. The availability of
soldiers and native troops was a local circumstance that affects the successfulness of a
ruler because with them he can become mighty but without them he can accomplish
nothing.
The other local factor that can differ from place to place and has a large impact on
the success of a leader, deals with the differences between a ruler s customs,
language, and religion and those of the conquered peoples. In the situation where
differences exist, Machiavelli suggested that the most effective method to employ
was for the prince or king to go and live there himself. This would allow the king to
react more quickly
The 2003 Invasion Of Iraq
The 2003 invasion of Iraq has often been called a liberal war . Critics often refer to
liberalism and the zone of peace as its main objective to overthrow Iraqi dictator
Saddam Hussein. However did the invasion of Iraq have other characteristics of
liberalism? It can be deduce that the 2003 invasion of Iraq had distinctive
characteristics of liberal internationalism. Therefore it is the purpose of this essay to
define liberal internationalism and provide an analytical reasoning for why the
invasion contended liberal internationalism principles. Liberal internationalism is
defined as foreign policy doctrine that supports one or more liberal states and its
inclination to intervene in other sovereign states domestic and international affairs.
Heart Disease And Myocardial Infarction
According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one cause
of death in women, yet most women are not aware of their own risk. In the past, heart
disease and myocardial infarction (MI) has been associated with men, which has lead
to a misunderstanding within the public that women are not at risk. This has further
lead to an oversimplified description of symptoms associated with men, which has
been detrimental to women (American HeartAssociation). Davis et al. (2013) noted in
her study that approximately every 34 seconds in the United States someone suffers
an acute coronary event, and half of these are resulting in death. She describes that
women are found to delay pre hospital treatment longer than men, which is one of the
most reliable indicators for MI complications at the hospital, not limited to recurrent
ischemia, re infarction, ventricular arrhythmias, and cardiac death. Women who had
both non modifiable and modifiable risk factors such as age, ethnicity, high
cholesterol, hypertension, low socioeconomic status, and lower educational levels
were found to delay hospital treatment with acute coronary syndromes even longer
than those without these risk factors (Davis, Mishel, Moser, Esposito, Lynn,
Schwartz, 2013). Kalman et al. (2012) states that Cardiovascular disease research
until the late 1980 s sampled predominately men so the picture of normal cardiac
symptoms is skewed toward a male diagnostic picture. Women, with a different set of
The Issue Of Immigration In America
The issue of immigration in America has caused a major controversial uproar, such
as whether or not immigrants have the right to become legal citizens of America
and participate in what most citizens take advantage of, like voting and have a
driver s license. Some Americans believe that no one should be allowed to come to
America to live because of the fear of minorities trying to take over. While others
believe there is nothing wrong with the idea, and that should be given the right to
become a citizen of America. Issitt (2016) said, Immigrationrefers to the movement of
persons from one nation or region to another with the purpose of seeking permanent
residence. According to this view immigrants deserve rights as a citizen if the desire...

Obama sees there is an issue with immigration policy and wants to change it. In his
words from the November 2014 speech: Today, our immigration system is broken,
and everybody knows it. Families who enter our country the right way and play by
the rules watch others flout the rules. Business owners who offer their workers
good wages benefits see the competition exploit undocumented immigrants by
paying them far less. All of us take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards of
living in America without taking on the responsibilities of living in America. And
undocumented immigrants who desperately want to embrace those responsibilities
see little option but to remain in the shadows, or risk their families being torn apart
(Keeling, 2014). The given idea for an immigration reform plan had as one of its
goals to be supported by both democratic parties and republican parties and included
six prospects designed to have a win win situation for both the government and
immigrants that are desiring to come to America. Things like changing border laws,
preventing visa overstays and preventing people from working without a permit and
programs helping immigrants adjust to life in the United States (Vinik 2014). These
laws are not always considerate of immigrants needs. If an illegal immigrant has
children in America and they are caught,
My Cultural Background
In 1967, my mother was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where she lived for two short
years before her family moved to New York. Her mother was born in Colombia and
her father from Palestine. She grew up in the Bronx speaking only Spanish in the
house, eventually learning English in school. My mother spent the rest of her
childhood and several years into her adulthood living in New York. In 1982, my
father, only sixteen years old, moved to America, New York to be exact, with his
family from Denmark. His ancestors have been living in Denmark dating back to
when vikings were still roaming the country. He and his family settled in their home
in New York, learned to speak English, and assimilated into the American lifestyle,

Finding inclusion spaces across campus s were important part of this process for
many of the students because it provided with a safe space to discuss their
background. It gave them an outlet to speak freely about the experiences they ve had
with their culture and heritage as well as how they identify with their race. Inclusion
spaces not only provided a safe space but also a location for multicultural people to
meet together. Being surrounded by other multicultural students, regardless of
whether or not they share the same race, is very influential on individuals as they
determine how they will define their race.
However understanding racial identity can get even more convoluted due to
confusion regarding what the definition of race is. Take for example the image
below. Looking at the options for race, one would naturally assume that Hispanic
/Latin is a race because it is included in a category with five other races. However,
Hispanic and/or Latino is an ethnicity, and is not considered a race by the U.S.

Climate Change In Canada Essay
Introduction
In the words of Barack Obama, climate change is no longer some far off problem; it
is happening here, it is happening now. (J. S. World Economic Forum, 2015) This
global phenomenon is causing many problems around the world and is affecting both
developed countries like Canada and other countries in the process of developing.
This report investigates how climate change can pose significant impacts on all
countries despite economic stability. Places like Canada are affected by the severe
storms and drastic changes in weather and these changes can hurt the environment
and the economy. They can also pose threats to crop production and public health.
Climate change can also hurt the developmental progression of low income countries

The potential harm that climate change could have in Canada is concerning because
Canada has one of the most diverse landscapes which is host to a countless number of
species and ecosystems that are examples of at risk habitats (David Suzuki
Foundation, 2017). Natural resources Canada believes that climate change will affect
many of the forests in Canada in a range of complex ways. These affects include
changes in plant mortality, disturbance in plant growth and distribution. These
impacts are cumulative and can increase insect vulnerability or cause more wildfires.
These problems can weaken the plant population and increase their chances of being
disease prone or attacked by insects. Some habitats may disappear, because of
changing weather patterns. Many forestry dependant communities and aboriginal
communities will be affected and loss in their wood supply like timber would hinder
their economic strength and harvesting potential (Natural resources Canada, 2017). In
the Atlantic, the affects of climate change would result in an increase of weather
inconsistency. The region may face more storm events, storm intensity, rising sea
levels and coastal erosion. Since much of the Canadian population lives in costal
regions this can have grave implications. It can affect the socio economic well being
of Atlantic communities in vital infrastructure, and industries like fishery and tourism

Jay Gatsby, an exotic millionaire philanthropist, has everything and anything a
man could ever need. He lives a life most could only dream of. A life full of
massive parties, sports cars, mansions, and booze. Yet he is missing something, he
is missing the only thing that could make him truly happy, to live a life with Daisy
Buchanan. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable
visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of
God. (pg 119). He was in love with Daisy, and he opened up to her, only to lose her
to Tom who had the money to support her. Money could not buy Gatsby happiness
and finally ends up destroying him.
Wealth has both benefits and dangers. Extreme wealth has the power to allow
someone almost unlimited potential, however wealth can easily corrupt and change a
person for the worse. Once someone has a taste of wealth they always want more. A
prime example of this is the Wilsons, Myrtle and George. They both die because
they truly believed money could buy them happiness. [Tom] What do you want
money for, all of a sudden? [George] I ve been here too long. I want to get away.
My wife and I want to go west. Your wife does! exclaimed Tom, startled.
[George]She s been talking about it for ten years. He rested for a moment against
the pump, shading his eyes. And now she s going whether she wants to or not. I m
going to get her away (pg 131).

Carthage And The Punic Wars Essay
Carthage was first founded as a trading post in the year of 814 BC.
Carthage was founded by the Phoenician Princess Elyssa Dido on a peninsula from
Africa which extends into the Mediterranean Sea. According to legend
Elyssa_Dido fled from her brother Pygmalion, the king of Tyre, after he killed her
husband. The post benefited from the vast market for the goods that it traded and
grew in importance quickly. It first had warehouses in which raw metals and finished
metal products which the Phoenicians used and had made were stored. Carthage then
started making metal products for Spain. These products were cheap due to they

This began the Punic wars. There were three Punic wars. Rome and Carthage were the
two strongest contenders of the central Mediterranean Sea of that time. In each of
these wars Carthage lost. These wars lasted off and on from 246 BC to 149 BC, with
Carthage eventually being destroyed.
The First Punic War started in 264 BC and lasted to 241 BC. In the first half of the
3rd century BC Carthage held many territories that made it easy to control and
dominate the western Mediterranean Sea. However, when they conquered Messana
on the north eastern tip of Sicily, in 263, they faced the
Romans for ware for the first time. The people of Messana requested aid from
Rome and Rome came to aid. The fear of a powerful neighbor was only one out of
several motivations, next to the promise of glory that got Rome to aid in the fight.
This war was fought mainly at sea around Sicily, and Carthage was by far the
strongest of the two in this field. This superiority was met by a large scale Roman
construction of the navel fleet after their land forces captured one of the
Carthaginian ships. Soon this was reflected in the fightings, and in 256 Carthage was
besieged, but the Romans were defeated. Then for some years Carthage was the most
successful who was commanded by Hamilcar. However, at the battle at the Aegates
Islands in 241, the Carthaginians were beaten so badly that they requested peace.

Analysis Of The Song Hush Yael By Oh, Sleeper
Art is the expression of creativity and imagination primarily for emotional or beauty
purposes. When most people think of art, they might think of popular paintings or
pictures like the Leonardo Da Vinci s Mona Lisa or Vincent Van Gogh s Starry
Night . Art can also include drawings, pictures, songs, poems, architecture, literature,
or just about anything else that someone can use to express themselves. What
makes most art effective or meaningful is its purpose, how it inspires an emotion,
and how aesthetically pleasing it is. In other words, art is effective if it has some
sort of impact on others. The song, Hush Yael by Oh, Sleeper, very clearly
demonstrates all of these qualities. Hush Yael is effective in conveying its... Show

In a newspaper article, Kaiser wrote I will never forget the joy and the hatred in their
voices as they swaggered about hunting for us, firing their guns and throwing
grenades. But soon Yael, being the 2 year old she was, started making noise.
Kaiser, knowing that if they heard Yael they would surely find and kill all of them,
firmly covered Yael s mouth to quiet her. Later after being saved by police officers,
Kaiser found out that in her attempt to save the others in the crawlspace, she ended
up smothering her own child; hence the title of the song Hush Yael was inspired.
The fact the song is based around such a tragic story makes it effective in evoking
feelings of dread, sympathy, remorse, disbelief, and even a little bit of anger. The
perpetrators were after all, eventually freed from prison in 2008 (Solomon). In this
way, this specific piece of art promotes an emotional effect from those who
understand the backstory. Though the majority of the song retells a real story, the
story isn t the main, central message. In the chorus, it says So lift your voices high,
higher than the mountains of their spite. We are, we are the fearless, the ruthless,
the heroes of our time. What this means is that since we have the ability to speak
out, we should speak out for those who are not able to and be the heroes of our time
. The song also has a line where it states We must rise for the helpless and fight for
their justice. This line
Dehumanization In The Metamorphosis
In The Metamorphosis, the theme of dehumanization is prevalent. At the start of the
novel Gregor s family appeared to care about him, but as time goes on they start to
neglect him, subjugating him to further dehumanization. Gregor s family does not
show much gratitude towards Gregor despite knowing of the hardships he has
endured to support his family s lifestyle. Gregor s family sees him as a source of
money. The Metamorphosisdemonstrates Gregor s internal suffering, warning us to
not let people take advantage of us. It shows that sometimes we have to put our own
needs and wellbeing before others. The first demonstration of Gregor s
dehumanization is at the start of the novel when Gregor talks about his family s

him after his metamorphosis, after everything that Gregor did for them and the
hardships that Gregor willingly went through. This further shows how they

it would have been understandable to be scared the first time that you saw your

in the novel Once during that long evening, the door on one side of the room was
opened very slightly and hurriedly closed again; later on the door on the other side
did the same; it seemed that someone needed to enter the room but thought better of
it. (REF). This shows the unwillingness of the family to interact with Gregor in any
way, they refused even to enter his room, dehumanizing him further and cutting him
off from any social interactions, treating him like an animal. This treatment goes on
for the entire book, until Gregor s death, getting harsher throughout the course of the
novel He was hardly inside his room before the door was hurriedly shut, bolted and
locked. (REF). This passage shows the lack of care given to Gregor from his family,
how they shunned him away and cut him off from social interactions. Throughout the
book Gregor s family consistently cut him off from social interaction, showing the
lack of care they have for him, and further dehumanizing

Elephant Persuasive Essay
Miscommunication is the source of the worlds major problems. Change can only
occur after both parties have an open conversation. If one party is unable to advocate
for themselves, they re placed in extreme danger. You wouldn t utilize manipulation
to jeopardize a baby s life. The same logic should apply to Elephants.
Babies are unable to communicate with words. This weakness makes them extremely
vulnerable. Thankfully billions of dollars have been spent to raise awareness. The

why Internet Television is taking over Cable Television is because the fact that
Cable Television prices are rising and more people are going to Netflix and other

In addition, Internet Television is taking over Cable Television because Internet

Netflix and Hulu are more built for teenagers, rather than being built for adults and

INITIAL THOUGHTS:
There s a thin line between entertaining your audience with a gambling demo, and
boring them into abysmal submission. Personally, I ve always found that when the
magician continually wins, the audience gets tired quickly. Let s face it; no one likes
losing! It s human nature.
Therefore, this routine is designed to make your audience believe like they can win
every time, no matter which game you play. Furthermore, the power of this routine is
not about the astronomical odds of receiving a winning hand in a called upon
position like so many gambling demos. More important, it s about empowering
someone in your audience with the genuine feeling of having a Midas like touch for
a small period of time.

How Did Tsar Nicholas II Create A Backwards Economy Of
Russia
Introduction:
Unlike other countries having a democratic government, Russia was ruled by a
monarchy, therefore Nicholas II inherited the role of Tsar after his father passed
away from kidney inflammation in 1894. There were many reasons behind why
Russia was considered as having a backwards economy and the Russo Japanese War
was a major setback for Russia. Bloody Sunday took place and shortly afterwards
Nicholas II was compelled to introduce the October Manifesto ... . Nicholas II
Tsar Nicholas II was a problem for the social, political and economic well being of
the early Twentieth Century Russia.
Russia s backwards economy:
Nicholas II was raised watching his father rule autocratically. He was not prepared
by no means to rule, and most likely took this as the best approach to ruling a
country since it is how his father did.
Tsar Nicholas II refused to stray from what he knew, and more importantly what his
father practised as an autocrat whilst ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With no workers, Russia was put under pressure as this meant no transport, schools,
shops and factories were in working order. They banded together for many
destructive acts such as rioting, stealing, street performances and destroying Tsarist
authoritative symbols. This was a political issue for Russia as workers were fighting
for their rights.
October Manifesto:
Nicholas II introduced the October Manifesto on the 30th of October, 1905. Once
the October Manifesto was introduced to the people, they believed he was making
a step in the right direction. This piece of paper, written by Sergey Witte, promised
political reforms after ten months of strikes, a lot of political debate and attacks of
violence. Little did the people of Russia realise that this was the Tsar Nicholas II s
plan to please, however he had no intentions of acting on this or changing his ways.

A Discussion On Expressing Yourself
Expressing yourself When anyone mentions the deep web, the public usually
thinks of the dark place in the internet where crimes and conspiracy theories take
place. To begin, the internet is split into two sections called the Clearnet and deep
web. Clearnet are websites that are indexed like, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and
Twitter. Clearnet websites are easily accessible due to the high ranking in
popularity. The Deep web is still part of the internet, to be more specific the deep
web holds 95% of the internet content and the Clearnet contains only 5%, which is
roughly x500 the content. The Deep web is any website that cannot be indexed by
a search engine. Deep Web or the hidden web are websites that the general public
access every day. For example, Facebook and YouTube are Clearnet sites ( http:/
/www.facebook.com ) but when you login, then the content would be considered
deep web ( https://www.facebook.com/muhaimin.khandaker.5). This is because web
crawlers ( a software that indexes websites) cannot index websites that requires a
form authentication ( Email and password). Another way websites are not indexed
is with the robot.txt file. The robot.txt file is a line that web developers can
incorporate when developing a website that does not want to be indexed. The deep
web is not the dark web but, the dark web is a small part of the deep web. Dark
web uses software like Freenet, Jondo, Ip2, Alienet, Tails OS, and the most famous
software, Tor to access websites anonymously
The Poisoner s Handbook By Deborah Blums Best Selling
Book
The film that I am reviewing, title The Poisoner s Handbook, is based on Deborah
Blums best selling book, of the same title, which reflects on the most notorious
cases between the years of 1918 and 1959 that were handled by Charles Norris, the
chief medical examiner for New York City, also known and described by his peers as
the father of forensic toxicologyin America, and Alexander Oscar Gettler,
toxicologist with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York,
such as the fatal radium poisoning of the factory workers who contracted radiation
poisoning from painting watch dials with self luminous paint at the Orange, New
Jersey watch factory around the year 1917 and other cases that involve dangerous
poisons, like arsenic, methanol, lead, carbon monoxide, denatured alcohol, radium
and thallium. Their renowned work led to tougher regulations by the government and
the creation of the Food and Drug Administration. The film depicts how the average
American s medicine cabinet, in the early 1900s, was a treasure chest of dangerous
poisons that could make you ill, put you in a coma, and even kill you. These poisons
were readily found in health tonics, depilatory creams, teething medicine, and
cleaning supplies.
In the early 1920s, medical examiners and coroners were appointed by the mayor and
were responsible for investigating every suspicious death in New York City. The
position was a political one and anyone, including musicians, painters, milkmen could

Positive Bias In Paper Tigers
Paper tigers can be there one moment and disappear the following second. Paper
tigers could be anxiety, stress, or anything that your mind could see as a threat. For
me, my paper tigers are large crowds and tall people. My parents played into that by
saying You are our surprise present and people can easily pick you up and carry
you off . After hearing that, I tried to stay away from large crowds or tall people. If I
was around those triggers, I would have a panic attack even though none of the
people were trying to hurt me. I would see them hurting me mentally, even though
there was no physical damage. That being said, the mindis constantly playing tricks
on you; the mind focuses on the negatives and rarely focuses on the positives.
However, some condition their minds to only discern the positives. By recognizing
our negativity biases, there is a connection with the idea of changing our prior
negativity bias into a positive bias; therefore, some parents nurture their child in an
environment that encourages a positive bias. In Rick Hanson s article, he makes
ample connections to a negativity bias, yet does not focus on the fact that there
remains a possibility of a positive bias. In this paper we will discus the negativity
bias, how some condition their minds to see the positives, and the three
mistakes.Rick Hanson, psychologist, best selling author, and summa cumlaude of

Catherine The Great Personality
Catherine the Great Catherine the Great was known to be a russian empress who
ruled the longer than any other women during her time. She was born May 2nd
1729 in Szczecin, Poland .Catherine reigned from July 9th 1762 until November
17th 1796 when she died. She died in Tsarskoye Selo, which is now Pushkin Russia.
One of the most shocking facts about Catherine the Great is that her name isn t even
Catherine. Her birth name is Sophie Friederike Auguste. Catherine the Great started
out as a minor German princess. She grew up in Stettin and her father, Christian
August was a prince of a tiny country and even though he was a prince, he was more
famous for being in the military .You may think catherine had a easy life being
royalty and all, but, she actually had a harsh childhood.Catherine s mother, Princess
Johanna Elisabeth of Holstein Gottorp, barely had any interest in her own daughter.
Instead, Princess Johanna spent nearly all of her time and energy on Catherine s little
brother Wilhelm Christian, who unfortunately, died at the age of 12. While Princess
Johanna payed no attention to Catherine, she was nurtued by her governess Babbette.
As Catherine was getting educated by tutors, Catherine had religious studies with a
military chaplain and she often questioned what he taught her. She also learned three
languages which were German,French and, Russian. The Russian was needed when
Catherine s mother ,Princess Johanna ,argued for an invitation to St. Petersburg
from Empress Elizabeth; who was once engaged to Princess Joanna s older brother
who had died of smallpox (An eradicated virus that used to be contagious,
disfiguring, and often deadly) so Empress Elizabeth felt a connection to the
family.Empress Elizabeth wanted to see if Catherine good enough for Grand Duke
Peter who was later known as Peter III. As a teenager in 1744 Catherine traveled with
her mother to Russia. Soon Catherine was sick and the treatment that was needed
caused disagreement between her mother and the Russian Empress Elizabeth.
Elizabeth wanted Catherine to have numerous bloodlettings( the withdrawal of blood
from a patient to cure or prevent illness and disease.), and Princess Johanna protested
the plan.. Once Catherine recovered,
Buy American Provision Essay
Discussion Board #2 a. Are attempts to protect U.S. firms from foreign competition,
such as the Buy American provision, good ideas? Explain. Protecting U.S. firms
from foreign competition may be helpful in a way because they create more
domestic jobs, however overall they have a negative impact on the economy. They
hurt the economy because they cause more spending by the government and in turn
increase the debt. It is also a lot less efficient to use only American manufactured
goods because the U.S. does not have a comparative advantage in all goods. The
main example of how trying to regulate global trade hurts the economy is the Smoot

economic consequences of a Buy American provision? I think there will be quite a
few economic consequences that come with the Buy American provision. The first
consequence is the government will have to spend more money, which will increase
the debt. The second is certain infrastructure building companies who are very reliant
on international goods may have to lay off many workers because of the lack of
demand. The third and final consequence is many American based infrastructure
companies will be able to function without competition due to many other companies

The Big Picture By Award Winning Authors That Offer
Great...
The Big Picture is a book by award winning authors that offer great insight into the
reason behind the global economy crisis. The book offers insight into the ways in
which one can navigate their way into being successful economists where
competition is stiff and the uncertainty of what the market could be tomorrow are a
serious challenge. The authors give a clear pathway on how consumers,
businessmen, federal reserves and the governments should take account of what is
happening about them in order to make critical decisions that they will not regret
(Naroff Scherer, 2014). What is assumed to be common sense is fundamentally
different to those that takes keen interest in the global economy and therefore
individuals should take informed steps to cope with this. The book covers a range
of issues that are crucial in the global economy. One that is most noteworthy to me
is the Economic Theory and Fiscal and Monetary Policy. I think this is an
outstanding issue because it explains the monetary policies that the global market
operates on and how they are co related (Tan, 2000). Some of the policies include
the business cycle, taxation, bottom line recession balance of debts and loans and
budget policies and the stock exchange market. In my opinion, this is an important
issue as it cut across almost all aspect of the economy and decisions are made based
on these monetary policies. These policies explain the relationship between budget
deficits and taxation. Most financial sectors
Augustine’S Literary Style In Confessions Was Very
Effective
Augustine s literary style in Confessions was very effective in relaying his thoughts
on evil, redemption, Genesis, and his personal dichotomy between the bible and
Neoplatonism. . Though the first nine books are a reflection of his life they are filled
with the relationship between his thoughts and actions and his path to redemption
and salvation, connecting these with his deep philosophical thoughts in the final
books. It was interesting to see how his perspective changed over the course of his
life as he began to combine Neoplatonic thought with metaphorical analysis of the
bible.
This journey, later in life, of reflecting upon our relationships to others and to God is
relatable to most humans, however, Augustine does take it to a much ... Show more

later books, especially in Book X as he reasons out the damage that the material
world creates when it is allowed to be a distraction that scatters the mind. His sins
were a misdirection, drawing him away from God and toward the material world,
yet fully part of the path toward his relationship. He discusses this in Book II when
he shares the story of stealing the pears not because he was hungry or needed them,
but just for the mischief of the action. His idea that God put all of the good qualities
inside of him and he chose not to use them aligns with his later thoughts on evil.
Augustine, with a father who was pagan Roman and Catholic Christian mother, made
an interesting choice in studying the bible and following the Manichees, though
oftentimes we do not see as clearly in the moment as we do upon reflection. One
thing is very clear: Augustine did not seem to follow anything blindly, and everything

Electrolytes Case Study
Indicate which electrolytes you will be discussing.
The two electrolytes I have choose are Calcium and magnesium.
What role does each of the selected electrolytes play in cellular function and fluid
balance? Magnesium ( 1.8 2.4mEq/L) helps in maintaining a normal muscle and
nerve function, it also helps with regulation cardiac rhythm and it is involved in
energy metabolism and protein synthesis. Calcium (8 10 mg/dl). helps with nerve
transmission, cardiac excitability and muscular contraction and hormone regulation.
Story, L. (2018).
How do these electrolytes impact acid base balance? calcium and magnesium have a
synergistic relationship so one enhances the other.
What would the nurse assess to determine if there are abnormal levels of these
selected electrolytes? Hypomagnesemia the patient becomes drowsy and lethargic
and reflexes diminish. Respirations may become so severely depressed that
respiratory arrest occurs. Hypomagnesemia leads to increase neuromuscular
irritability such as muscle spasms arrhythmias and tremors. In Hypocalcemia, the
nurse will assess for tetany and muscle twitching and in hypercalcemia, the nurse
will assess for muscle weakness and deep tendon reflexes may be decreased or absent.

What is the treatment for abnormal levels of these selected electrolytes? The
treatment for hypercalcemia would include avoiding food in high calcium levels and

Waknuk Point Of View
The group of telepaths is discovered and two have been captured; Sally and
Katherine. The community of Waknuk apprehends that they, not knowingly, have
lived with these Deviations all their lives, and are further frightened since they do
not know how to control or dominate over these people. David, Rosalind, Petra, and
the others must fight and rebel against these faulty acts; hoping to end the carnage
once and for all. While some of them flee and run off to another locality, some of
them keep quiet and live a fictitious reality; later purporting to be someone they are
not. David has to live with the matter that he is able to send thought shapes to
communicate with other people. Not only that, but he also has to make sure no one

The Importance Of Playing Basketball
Basketball is my passion and it makes me happy that I decided to continue playing.
However, there was a time when I was thinking about not playing again due to an
awful experience I had while playing basketball my senior year of high school. I
have soon come to realize that not all coaches are the same, for example, my high
schoolbasketballcoachis very different to my college basketball coach, especially
when it comes to their coaching styles and attitudes towards their players and
coaching staff.
It is easily said that playing basketball my senior year of high school was my least
favorite season. The season was my least favorite, not because of my teammates,
but due to the head coach. He only designed plays to showcase our point guard,
who is the person that calls the plays that we run on the court. He also had the
coaching style where things were either his way or you did not play. For instance,
if someone, other than our point guard, were to receive a pass and was wide open
for a shot, he would yell at them because they were not meant to shoot the ball in
that play. However, in the other coaches and players eyes it would seem pointless
for them to not take the chance and shoot the ball, especially if they are wide open.
One could make the assumption that he was focused more on the guards than on the
group as a whole, but my college coach is nothing like that.
I may have only been playing ball in college for one month, but I can say with great
confidence that
Minotaur Myths
The story that we covered was called the Minotaur, which comes from Greek
mythology. The Minotaur is a person who has a bull s head but a person s body. In
this story, a person named Minos was supposed to give his best bull to the Greek
god Poseiden. One year Minos had fell in love with his best bull and didn t want to
give it up to Poseiden, so Minos gave Poseiden another bull. Poseiden knew that
Minos had not given him his best bull so Poseiden decided to retaliate. Poseiden
had Minos wife fall in love with the bull that Minos had loved so much. Minos wife
had a fake cow made and crawled into it so that way she could have intercourse with
the white bull. She ended up getting pregnant and gave birth to Minotaur, and Minos

I think the younger generations today take a lot of crap from older generations
because of they way we do things. I feel a lot of older people don t like the change
with things like technology, laws, and other things along those lines, and therefore
blame the younger generations. I completely agree that the younger generations
have some spoiled brats, some younger people who are really rude, and don t have
manners. However I feel like we are discovering more, and more whether it is
about the human body, technology, or the environment. I feel in my opinion that
the younger generations are seen as dumb, irresponsible, lazy, and are not really
given a chance to prove the older generations wrong. I think that with the
improvements in technology we are making the world a safer place, were finding
out more about the world like global warming. I don t have examples to completely
prove this its more of an opinion but I think things like the iphone, and cameras in
cars now used to help with parking, or backing out of a spot are some examples that
show what the younger generations have
Michael Phelps Mission Statement
To start, Micheal Phelps was inspired as a kid to for fill his dream to become a
champion swimmer, Farah Ahmedi wanted to find a better life for her and her
mother and Aengus wanted to find a glimmering girl whom he had become fond of
and then vanished before him. However, all three focused on sharing the character s
determination, hope and perseverance in reaching their missions to either help their
well being or both theirs and someone else s.
The Michael Phelps mission was to for fill his dream to become a champion
swimmer and was inspired as a keep to complete it. For example, when stated,
when he saw the swimmers compete at the 1996 Olympics in Athens, Georgia, he
started to dream about becoming a champion himself (). This shows, that when
Phleps saw the swimmers it inspired his dream to become a champion swimmer
too. But he knew it was going to be hard work. In addition, when shared, Phelps
knew he had to work harder if he wanted to be the best. Phelps undertook a mission
since his childhood to become a champion swimmer, and is now recognized to be
one of the best athletes of all time (). This means, that he knew that he had to work
have and be determined if he ever wanted to reach his goal, and it all paid off in the
end. Lastly, when written, Phelps set a world record in July 2012 for earning more
medals than any other Olympic athlete Phelps undertook a mission since his
childhood to become a champion swimmer, and is now recognized to be one of the

The Between Panopticon And The Schooling System Essay
From the concrete walls, the schematics of Architecture and even the way that we are
taught, school can remind us of a type of prison. We are taught by repetition and to
regurgitate information rather than actually go in depth to understand the topic. We
are ready to absorb information and not question said info. We are like fishes
swimming in a bowl, unable to comprehend what exists outside of our own sphere of
learning. In an essay written by Foucault, he talks about the idea of the Panopticon.
When reading his essay, it becomes clear there are striking similarities between the
Panopticon and the schooling system. It is my intent to show how both the schooling
system and the Panopticon strip Individuality away because of mechanical teaching.
This will be conveyed by showing the comparisons of the Panopticon and the
schooling system through the topics of how describing the similarity of the two
locations and lead into the course of Surveillanceon both subjects. I will then lead
into the topic of Discipline shaping behavior and will finalize with discussing how the
general architecture of schools and the Panopticon are similar.
The schooling system often teaches a rather mechanical approach to learning as we
are placed in a situation where learning is forced and a requirement to get through
society s means of, a future for ourselves and to be part of a respected status quo.
Surely the idea of graduating from an institution of knowledge does have many
benefits

Number of deaths escalated immensely as the years went by and the civil war

Ultrasonic:
Ultrasonic is science of acoustics dealing with generation and use of inaudible
acoustic waves. The sound waves having frequencies ranging above 20KHZ up to
several MHZ i.e. human audible ranges are called ultrasonic waves. The sound
waves of low frequencies i.e. below human audible range are infrasonic waves. Like
life, ultrasonic was originated from sea. The five senses of living beings i.e. hearing,
touch, smell, sight and taste are interdependent on each other. Out of these five, two
are important for long rang interaction i.e. sight and hearing and other three have
short range performance. But these things are different under water because long
range sight has no use under water. By default, sound waves have long range sensing
functionality under water.
The era of ultrasonic began with the wrecking of RMS Titanic which crashed with
ice berg. The detection of ice berg was done by high frequency waves. In 1915
Langevin (the father of ultrasonic) invented the underwater SONAR for submarine
detection. Sokolov suggested the concept of ultrasonic metal flaw detection in 1928.
After that slow and steady progress was made in the measurement of propagation
constant of material. The propagation of ultrasonic waves through solid material has
been used to detect hidden cracks, porosity, voids and other discontinuities in metal.
The field of ultrasonic has wide application in science, medicine and

as a result of errors in thinking and focuses on skills training and anger management
(Arias, Arce, VilariГ±o, 2013). However, studies have proven that the Duluth model
is the most effective approach to treating batterers. This model helps batterers take
responsibility for their violent acts against their partners. Batterers learn how to
prevent the use of abuse, and teach them that domestic violence is their choice.

Persuasive Speech On Modern Life
We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes
unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it? Buddha. Wow, that is both incredibly
heavy and extremely motivating. Although most interpret this to be motivation
for someone to follow their most outrageous and elaborate dream I find it to be a
wee bit more reprimanding. To me it is a verse full of chagrin for those who
continue to put off the things they needed to do a week ago. To me it is a
command to stop with all the wispy and foolish excuses in favor of starting
towards a better, less stressful, tomorrow! Most, namely myself, refuse to heed
this call; opting instead for a life of half lived relaxation followed by hectic bursts of
tears turmoil and stress; it s a life lived down to the wire, a life on the edge, a life
run by the fact that you are perpetually behind schedule.
As terribly exciting as that may sound this constant wave of slow mo into overdrive
is taxing and, as one might expect, not conducive to a worker with top quality
output. Even though its common knowledge that procrastinating has never been the
best route to take somehow as we go through life it is in fact the path most
travelled. So, if it s so bad for us why do we continue to do it? How does our
procrastination affect us? How does it affect others? Most importantly how do we fix
this seemingly harmless trend that catapults us into impossible messes and tangled
situations? It s not so tedious a task to find articles
Difference In Culture In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
Being away from family for such a long time may cause a big difference in culture.
Not only culture, but just what a person is accustom to in general. Especially, if
they are not only away but living in an entire different part of the world. Many
families struggle and don t get along because of differences in behavior and in
culture. In the story, Everyday Use written by Alice Walker the narrator
throughout the
story is the mother of both Maggie, and Dee, however the story would be
somewhat different if it was written in the perspective of Maggie, Dee, or even an
omniscient narrator. First, If the story were written in Maggie s point of view, it
would not change quite as much. However, some things would become more clear
to the audience. For example, when Dee was arguing with Mama as to why she
should keep the quilts, had the story been told in her point of view the audience
would understand why she said, She can have them, Mama ... I can member
Grandma Dee without the quilts (Walker 7). Many who have read the story may
have their own beliefs of why she would willingly give up something that would
mean so much to her. Though Mama thought she knew exactly why. Perhaps she
offered it because earlier in the story Mama explained how she believed Maggie sees
Dee, ...eyeing her sister with a mixture of envy and awe. She thinks her sister has
held life always in the palm of one hand, and that no is a word the world never
learned to say to her (Walker 1). Dee has always
Rawls Social Inequality
Furthermore, the second law of the John Rawls Theory of Justice states that social
and economic inequalities are to be arranged so that they are both (a) reasonably
expected to be to everyone s advantage, and (b) attached to positions and offices
open to all (60). No doubt, John Rawls second principle of justiceestablishes social
equality in the society and opens the door of opportunities to every single
individual, who wants to rise from his/her present miserable situation. But this law,
disrupts the socioeconomic balance in the society. In this case everybody wants to
be in higher positions to be reputed in the society and no one wants to be a poor or
miserable. Rawl is suggesting an equal distribution of wealthamongst the people to
relish the freedom and equality. It disturbs the monopoly and make an imbalance in
the economic growth of the country. For example; Andrew Gibson, in his political
research finds that .... Inequality of income and wealth is a driver of growth. Income
disparities are part of the ......price system and they are a form of free speech invest

which is absolutely about material wealth and designations. He is also seeking
equality on the professional basis, whereas Socrates divide the
Ancient Greek Influence
Ancient Greece was an extremely advanced civilization for its time, giving us
numerous innovations including advancements in math, science, and even in art,
many of which are still used today. However, some do not recognize the extent to
which classical Greece has impacted America today. These influences can be seen
nearly everywhere, from the streets of the nation s capital to classrooms all over the
country. Ancient Greecehas had an enormous impact on the modern United States,
especially in our government, architecture, mathematics, and language.
Arguably the most important legacy left behind by Ancient Greece is democracy. The

Anyone with the facts could clearly see that classical Greece has had an
extraordinary impact on America and the entire world today. Just a few examples of
this include democracy, architecture, mathematics, and language, though these are
only a few examples. The world adopted various different aspects of life in Ancient
Greek, from the Olympic games to philosophy to science. We as a society in the US
often go about our daily lives without stopping to remember the place in which even
the most trivial things originated; children learning about math, athletes training for
the Olympics, and even two people having a conversation without the influence of
classical Greece on our society, these actions could ve been much different, if
existent at all. It s important to consider and acknowledge this fact every so often,
because understanding why our lives are like this with the help of history is the key
to helping future generations be successful and learn from the

Foodpanda need to improve its services related to making payments to vendors.
Vendors get frustrated when they didn t receive payment of the order fulfilled by

Timely respond to customers if they are not able to process their orders on time. It
was found that some customer faced this problem and recived message after 1 hour
that foodpanda can t process their order after placing their order with
T’S Not Always Great Being A Translator. It Can Be
Unstable,
t s not always great being a translator. It can be unstable, with too much work one
week and none the next. Sometimes customers may pay you late or not at all
(thankfully I haven t experienced this with any of my fantastic clients). You re never
going to make millions, and the deadlines can be very stressful. But, I love being a
translator. Here s why.
1. It s flexible
This is the number one thing I love about being a translator. It gives you so many
possibilities and so much flexibility. Of course, you can choose whether to work in
house (in an agency or for a large organisation with translation requirements), or to
freelance. I ve been a part time freelancer for the last two years, and I m finally

I learn new vocabulary and phrases all the time and get a better grasp of the written
language over time. However I also get to use my other favourite skill writing. I ve
always spent hours and hours of my free time writing everything from book and
music reviews to fanfiction to essays and blogs, but now I actually get paid for it.
3. It s always different
Unlike some jobs where you deal with the same thing every day, as a translator you
can be translating an employment contract one day and medical records the next.
A marketing brochure on Monday and a financial report on Friday. And you do get
a choice about what area you choose to translate in. If you re especially interested
in fashion, finance or food, you can choose to specialise in that area and do most of
your work in an area that you actually enjoy reading and writing about. Every time I
do a new translation I learn something new from reading and researching that topic,
or at least a few new words or terms.
4. You make your mark on the text
No matter what you translate, from which language and in which subject area, your
translation is always unique! No matter how banal and everyday a text is, no two
translators could possibly translate it in the same way. From which translation you
decide to use for a certain term, to your turn of phrase, to any of the hundreds of tiny
decisions you make in any text, you actually put your own personal stamp on the
translation. Unless you re a

When the market demand for shipping capacity was high, owners would keep a
vessel in operation as long as possible. Conversely, when market demand was low,
scrapping rose. There had been very few scrapping in recent years, one reason
might be that most of the capacity of the worldwide fleet of capsizes was fairly
young which we can see from Exhibit 5, another reason might be the market demand
is strong recently.
Market demand is affected by trading volumes, world economy and even trading
patterns.
For example, in 2003, the Australian and Indian ore exports would begin, the volume
would increase, demand for capsize would likely increase as well with the higher
trading volumes.
Exhibit 5 shows the evidence that demands (Iron ore vessel shipments) and supply
(Fleet size) drive the average daily hire rate (Avg. spot rate).
Factor 2: World economy
The average daily hire rate is also determined by the world economy, especially its
basic industries. When the economy is strong, the production and demand for the
shipped products increase thus will result a lower hire rate. Conversely, when the
world economy is in a recession, the hire rate will be lower. Take an example, the
average hire rate declined in 1998 and 1999 because of the effect of 1998 financial
crisis.
Factor 3: Age of ships
Average hire rate is influenced by the age of the ships. If a company s vessels are
relatively new than the industry average, it earned a premium in daily hire rate

The play Julius Caesar was first performed in 1599 at the Globe theatre in London.
The Globe theatre was built earlier that year and Julius Caesar was one of the first

William Shakespeare wrote the play Julius Caesar because Plutarchs Lives , William

The intricacies lie in the vastness of the topic itself, as photography encompasses a multitude of themes, techniques, and historical perspectives. Navigating through the expansive realm of photography requires a comprehensive understanding of its various genres, such as portrait, landscape, documentary, and experimental photography. One of the challenges is selecting a specific aspect of photography that resonates with the writer and aligns with the intended message of the essay. • 2. The Impact Of Electric Vehicles On The Future Of Electric... Context and Background Electric vehicles have been around far longer than their fossil fuel powered counter parts. They have been popular as early as the late 19th century and the early part of the 20th century. One of the best selling vehicles at the point was the Columbia Runabout, which could go 40miles on a single charge and run at speed up to 25 kmph. They were initially considered a safer option when compared to cars powered by fossil fuels, as initial ICI cars were prone to backfire. This all changed with the mass production and the technological advancements when it came to ICE (Internal Combustion Engines) [1]. When Ford started mass producing their cars and fuel prices began to drop, advancements in electric vehicles came to a halt. There has been a slow resurgence in interest for Electric vehicles from the late 70 s when the damage that the fossil fuel powered cars were causing to the environment was slowly being understood. Yet the public acceptance of electric vehicles has been less than enthusiastic. This can be attributed to the low prices of gasoline and push by petroleum giants against electric car initiatives and public aversion to buying electric cars owing to their high prices, their low resale value and lack of infrastructure for charging. But with the recent success of Electric Vehicles in California and Estonia, it would be time to look at ways to implement an infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Australia and spread awareness among the public.
  • 3. Transcontinental Railroad Railroads Railroads were a huge step in innovations for the United States. The transcontinental Railroad was Built from 1863 to 1869. Taking over six years, the railroad stretched almost 2,000 miles, connecting the Mississippi rivers to the Pacific Coast in San Francisco. Although the transcontinental railroad was one of the biggest things to happen in the railroad industry, there was many other railroads that caused significance. Through the 1850 s and 1860 s alone over 50,000 miles of railroad were built throughout the United States. And with all these railroads being built they were sure to leave impact on many other industries. One of the most important changes that the railroads caused was the increase of convenience For citizens all throughout the United States. By traveling via train passengers could reach their destination in 90% of the time compared to the travel methods before. This also caused a large increase in Western Settlement. Now, families did not have to worry about the harsh and long travel they would have had to make to go West just a few years before. People did not have to worry about weather, supply shortage, disease, and more, as railroad travel helped all of those situations. However, every good thing has a bad side, and it is important to note that the increase of Western Settlement forced more Indians out of their land, which began to cause violence between white men and Indians. The railroads also affected agriculture throughout the
  • 4. Environmental Sanctions And Safety Standards Introduction Coal is king. The coal industry controls the economy of states, and states rely on it for electricity. However, many families involved in the industry of coal are experiencing profound economic difficulty. This must be resolved to improve the economic disparity in West Virginia, a state known for a large coalmining industry. Many mining families experience this economic difficulty, particularly due to health risks and job situations. Much research has been done into the effects of a large coal industry. In just the past twenty years, air pollution from coal plants have shortened the lives of more than half a million Americans. (Jeff Goodell, 2006). Mining kills; and it even affects those uninvolved in the production of it. There are a vast amount of environmental sanctions and safety standards in mines. These are laws and regulations meant to protect the population, yet most do not follow them correctly. Companies must pay for all of this, however paying for regulations cuts into profit margins. These companies manage to still make profit by shutting down deficit mines, but mainly make up costs by laying off employees. This process results in a never ending cycle of downtrodden individuals trying to make ends meet. Mining is a neutral party, it has negatives and positives, both of which impact the Appalachia community significantly. Mining has a vast assortment of negatives that are constantly being discussed. Mining can damage the environment and
  • 5. The Beginning A History Of New Zealand s Ufo Activity the Beginning... A history of New Zealand s UFO activity BY TONY LUCAS 12/01 /2014 UFO SIGHTINGS Historically, most of the Northern Hemisphere holds the attention of many when it comes to paranormal activity, UFO s, Cryptozoology and strange phenomena. UFO What I hope to bring forth in these articles is the often not heard of Phenomena that is just as prevalent in the Southern Hemisphere. As an Independent UFO Investigator myself I will however ask the readers forgiveness if I often indulge myself in that field. Being a New Zealander, it is often not recognized that New Zealand has many unheard of mysteries and its fair share of UFO activity. We also have our own version of Bigfoot known as the Moehau, also a mystery otter like creature, alien big cats, and more. Our nearest neighbor, Australia also has its fair share of UFO sightings, Criptids (animals that are not known or presumed extinct), and strange phenomena. As a UFO Investigator, I like to make quite clear how easy it is to be fooled. Often, what we think we see is not what it appears to be. In the case of UFO s, weather balloons, the planet Venus, satellites and other man made phenomena are often mistaken for UFOs. My belief is that once you have eliminated all the obvious and, sometimes the not so obvious, whatever you are left with must be the answer. New Zealand has a long history of UFO activity beginning in the late 19th century with the airship flap of the period, when there was a rash of sightings of
  • 6. The Future Of The Parks Parks have been around for many years. They truly have impacted not only suburbs, but they have majorly impacted cities. Without the invention of parks it would be hard to escape city life. Cities are still changing from what they used to be and how they are designed. However the future of the parks is unsure due to funding and lack of maintenance. The first idea of a parkwas from William Penn in 1682. He created a plan for Philadelphia to have five areas of park like land. Then James Oglethorpe had an idea in 1733 for Savannah. He established a system, where neighborhoods were revolved around a square (Schuyler, 2015). The first recorded urban parkwas Fairmount Gardens. It was created in 1812, in Philadelphia when they constructed their waterworks. The park first started off at five acres, surrounding the waterworks. The park had become so popular that in 1828 they expanded it to twenty eight acres. In 1850, Lemon Hill and Sedgley estates were added to Fairmount, which made the popularity of the park increase. People thought the park site was chosen because of the class of people that lived there, but that was not the case. The land was chosen because it was too elevated. Since the land was so elevated that made it too hard to build and expensive to build anything there or to build roads on that kind of land (Schuyler, 2015). Parksthen became very popular in cities. William Cullen Bryant and Andrew Jackson Downing became the faces behind the idea of
  • 7. Examples Of Greed In The Great Gatsby Wealth has often consumed the lives people in the past, corrupting them and causing people to make bad decisions due to this greed. Wealth and greed will continue to take over others lives for as long as the human race still exists. The desire for wealth and greed as shown in the The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald by some characters intense obsession with money, lavish lifestyles, and their sense of entitlement, ultimately putting other characters in harm s way. Greed takes its toll on Daisy as one of the main characteristics she looks for in a man is in fact his wealth, and that man s personality takes a backseat when Daisy is falling in love with someone. This is clearly exhibited when she visits Gatsby s house. Throughout the visit she is clearly in awe with Gatsby s house and his belongings. She is close to breaking down and exclaims that Gatsby has such beautiful shirts...it makes [her] sad because [she s] never seen such beautiful shirts before (Fitzgerald 92). Daisy is clearly thinking about what she and Gatsby could have been as a couple, now that she realizes that Gatsby is not poor anymore, but instead filthy rich. It is not that she misses Gatsby s personality, but rather his wealth. The desire for wealth that Daisy has leads her to taking advantage of Gatsby s love for her. She lets Gatsby take the blame for killing Myrtle in the car accident, showing that she did not care about Gatsby, but that she knew deep down that their relationship was

  • 9. A Sucessful Ruler in Machiavelli s Eyes Essay Many factors went into determining whether or not a prince or king was successful or not. Some of these factors were simple things such as the king s personality or the method by which he comes to power. Niccolo Machiavelli wrote this book as a guide for Lorenzo Medici to become a good ruler. He describes these factors, but attributes most leaders achievements to their taking advantage of local circumstances. Machiavelli attributes military victory to having a strong army composed of native soldiers and strongly discourages using a mercenaryarmy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hiring of mercenaries has lead to the downfall of many great empires and kingdoms. The Roman Empire was brought down, in part, because of their growing reliance on disloyal mercenaries to control the frontier borders. The most crushing example of mercenaries leading to self destruction is gone into great detail by Machiavelli when he describes how they have lead to the ruin of his dear Italy. We can see throughout history that the most successful armies have been compiled of native, home grown troops. Many examples are given, including the armies of Hiero of Syracuse, Charles VII, and even David of the Old Testament. The availability of soldiers and native troops was a local circumstance that affects the successfulness of a ruler because with them he can become mighty but without them he can accomplish nothing. The other local factor that can differ from place to place and has a large impact on the success of a leader, deals with the differences between a ruler s customs, language, and religion and those of the conquered peoples. In the situation where differences exist, Machiavelli suggested that the most effective method to employ was for the prince or king to go and live there himself. This would allow the king to react more quickly

In the past, heart disease and myocardial infarction (MI) has been associated with men, which has lead to a misunderstanding within the public that women are not at risk. This has further lead to an oversimplified description of symptoms associated with men, which has been detrimental to women (American HeartAssociation). Davis et al. (2013) noted in her study that approximately every 34 seconds in the United States someone suffers an acute coronary event, and half of these are resulting in death. She describes that women are found to delay pre hospital treatment longer than men, which is one of the most reliable indicators for MI complications at the hospital, not limited to recurrent ischemia, re infarction, ventricular arrhythmias, and cardiac death. Women who had both non modifiable and modifiable risk factors such as age, ethnicity, high cholesterol, hypertension, low socioeconomic status, and lower educational levels were found to delay hospital treatment with acute coronary syndromes even longer than those without these risk factors (Davis, Mishel, Moser, Esposito, Lynn, Schwartz, 2013). Later after being saved by police officers, Kaiser found out that in her attempt to save the others in the crawlspace, she ended up smothering her own child; hence the title of the song Hush Yael was inspired. The fact the song is based around such a tragic story makes it effective in evoking feelings of dread, sympathy, remorse, disbelief, and even a little bit of anger. The perpetrators were after all, eventually freed from prison in 2008 (Solomon). In this way, this specific piece of art promotes an emotional effect from those who understand the backstory. Though the majority of the song retells a real story, the story isn t the main, central message. In the chorus, it says So lift your voices high, higher than the mountains of their spite. • 28. How Did Tsar Nicholas II Create A Backwards Economy Of Russia Introduction: Unlike other countries having a democratic government, Russia was ruled by a monarchy, therefore Nicholas II inherited the role of Tsar after his father passed away from kidney inflammation in 1894. There were many reasons behind why Russia was considered as having a backwards economy and the Russo Japanese War was a major setback for Russia. Bloody Sunday took place and shortly afterwards Nicholas II was compelled to introduce the October Manifesto ... . Nicholas II Tsar Nicholas II was a problem for the social, political and economic well being of the early Twentieth Century Russia. Russia s backwards economy: Nicholas II was raised watching his father rule autocratically. He was not prepared by no means to rule, and most likely took this as the best approach to ruling a country since it is how his father did. Tsar Nicholas II refused to stray from what he knew, and more importantly what his father practised as an autocrat whilst ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With no workers, Russia was put under pressure as this meant no transport, schools, shops and factories were in working order. Once the October Manifesto was introduced to the people, they believed he was making a step in the right direction. This piece of paper, written by Sergey Witte, promised political reforms after ten months of strikes, a lot of political debate and attacks of violence. Little did the people of Russia realise that this was the Tsar Nicholas II s plan to please, however he had no intentions of acting on this or changing his ways. Link

  • 30. A Discussion On Expressing Yourself Expressing yourself When anyone mentions the deep web, the public usually thinks of the dark place in the internet where crimes and conspiracy theories take place. To begin, the internet is split into two sections called the Clearnet and deep web. Clearnet are websites that are indexed like, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Clearnet websites are easily accessible due to the high ranking in popularity. The Deep web is still part of the internet, to be more specific the deep web holds 95% of the internet content and the Clearnet contains only 5%, which is roughly x500 the content. The Deep web is any website that cannot be indexed by a search engine. Deep Web or the hidden web are websites that the general public access every day. For example, Facebook and YouTube are Clearnet sites ( http:/ /www.facebook.com ) but when you login, then the content would be considered deep web ( https://www.facebook.com/muhaimin.khandaker.5). This is because web crawlers ( a software that indexes websites) cannot index websites that requires a form authentication ( Email and password). Another way websites are not indexed is with the robot.txt file. The robot.txt file is a line that web developers can incorporate when developing a website that does not want to be indexed. The deep web is not the dark web but, the dark web is a small part of the deep web. Dark web uses software like Freenet, Jondo, Ip2, Alienet, Tails OS, and the most famous software, Tor to access websites anonymously

Their renowned work led to tougher regulations by the government and the creation of the Food and Drug Administration. The film depicts how the average American s medicine cabinet, in the early 1900s, was a treasure chest of dangerous poisons that could make you ill, put you in a coma, and even kill you. These poisons were readily found in health tonics, depilatory creams, teething medicine, and cleaning supplies. In the early 1920s, medical examiners and coroners were appointed by the mayor and were responsible for investigating every suspicious death in New York City. The position was a political one and anyone, including musicians, painters, milkmen could

  • 35. Positive Bias In Paper Tigers Paper tigers can be there one moment and disappear the following second. Paper tigers could be anxiety, stress, or anything that your mind could see as a threat. For me, my paper tigers are large crowds and tall people. My parents played into that by saying You are our surprise present and people can easily pick you up and carry you off . After hearing that, I tried to stay away from large crowds or tall people. If I was around those triggers, I would have a panic attack even though none of the people were trying to hurt me. I would see them hurting me mentally, even though there was no physical damage. That being said, the mindis constantly playing tricks on you; the mind focuses on the negatives and rarely focuses on the positives. However, some condition their minds to only discern the positives. By recognizing our negativity biases, there is a connection with the idea of changing our prior negativity bias into a positive bias; therefore, some parents nurture their child in an environment that encourages a positive bias. In Rick Hanson s article, he makes ample connections to a negativity bias, yet does not focus on the fact that there remains a possibility of a positive bias. In this paper we will discus the negativity bias, how some condition their minds to see the positives, and the three mistakes.Rick Hanson, psychologist, best selling author, and summa cumlaude of UCLA, wrote Negativity Bias and Paper Tigers on October 3, 2010. She was born May 2nd 1729 in Szczecin, Poland .Catherine reigned from July 9th 1762 until November 17th 1796 when she died. She died in Tsarskoye Selo, which is now Pushkin Russia. One of the most shocking facts about Catherine the Great is that her name isn t even Catherine. Her birth name is Sophie Friederike Auguste. Catherine the Great started out as a minor German princess. She grew up in Stettin and her father, Christian August was a prince of a tiny country and even though he was a prince, he was more famous for being in the military .You may think catherine had a easy life being royalty and all, but, she actually had a harsh childhood.Catherine s mother, Princess Johanna Elisabeth of Holstein Gottorp, barely had any interest in her own daughter. Instead, Princess Johanna spent nearly all of her time and energy on Catherine s little brother Wilhelm Christian, who unfortunately, died at the age of 12. While Princess Johanna payed no attention to Catherine, she was nurtued by her governess Babbette. As Catherine was getting educated by tutors, Catherine had religious studies with a military chaplain and she often questioned what he taught her. She also learned three languages which were German,French and, Russian. The Russian was needed when Catherine s mother ,Princess Johanna ,argued for an invitation to St. Petersburg from Empress Elizabeth; who was once engaged to Princess Joanna s older brother who had died of smallpox (An eradicated virus that used to be contagious, disfiguring, and often deadly) so Empress Elizabeth felt a connection to the family.Empress Elizabeth wanted to see if Catherine good enough for Grand Duke Peter who was later known as Peter III. Protecting U.S. firms from foreign competition may be helpful in a way because they create more domestic jobs, however overall they have a negative impact on the economy. They hurt the economy because they cause more spending by the government and in turn increase the debt. It is also a lot less efficient to use only American manufactured goods because the U.S. does not have a comparative advantage in all goods. The second is certain infrastructure building companies who are very reliant on international goods may have to lay off many workers because of the lack of demand. The book offers insight into the ways in which one can navigate their way into being successful economists where competition is stiff and the uncertainty of what the market could be tomorrow are a serious challenge. The authors give a clear pathway on how consumers, businessmen, federal reserves and the governments should take account of what is happening about them in order to make critical decisions that they will not regret (Naroff Scherer, 2014). What is assumed to be common sense is fundamentally different to those that takes keen interest in the global economy and therefore individuals should take informed steps to cope with this. The book covers a range of issues that are crucial in the global economy. One that is most noteworthy to me is the Economic Theory and Fiscal and Monetary Policy. I think this is an outstanding issue because it explains the monetary policies that the global market operates on and how they are co related (Tan, 2000). Some of the policies include the business cycle, taxation, bottom line recession balance of debts and loans and budget policies and the stock exchange market. In my opinion, this is an important issue as it cut across almost all aspect of the economy and decisions are made based on these monetary policies. These policies explain the relationship between budget deficits and taxation. Most financial sectors

Though the first nine books are a reflection of his life they are filled with the relationship between his thoughts and actions and his path to redemption and salvation, connecting these with his deep philosophical thoughts in the final books. It was interesting to see how his perspective changed over the course of his life as he began to combine Neoplatonic thought with metaphorical analysis of the bible. I think this is where his journey toward inwardness begins something he clarifies in later books, especially in Book X as he reasons out the damage that the material world creates when it is allowed to be a distraction that scatters the mind. His sins were a misdirection, drawing him away from God and toward the material world, yet fully part of the path toward his relationship. He discusses this in Book II when he shares the story of stealing the pears not because he was hungry or needed them, but just for the mischief of the action. His idea that God put all of the good qualities inside of him and he chose not to use them aligns with his later thoughts on evil. Augustine, with a father who was pagan Roman and Catholic Christian mother, made an interesting choice in studying the bible and following the Manichees, though oftentimes we do not see as clearly in the moment as we do upon reflection. One thing is very clear: Augustine did not seem to follow anything blindly, and everything he exposed

It is easily said that playing basketball my senior year of high school was my least favorite season. The season was my least favorite, not because of my teammates, but due to the head coach. He only designed plays to showcase our point guard, who is the person that calls the plays that we run on the court. He also had the coaching style where things were either his way or you did not play. For instance, if someone, other than our point guard, were to receive a pass and was wide open for a shot, he would yell at them because they were not meant to shoot the ball in that play. However, in the other coaches and players eyes it would seem pointless for them to not take the chance and shoot the ball, especially if they are wide open. One could make the assumption that he was focused more on the guards than on the group as a whole, but my college coach is nothing like that. I may have only been playing ball in college for one month, but I can say with great confidence that

Ultrasonic: Ultrasonic is science of acoustics dealing with generation and use of inaudible acoustic waves. The sound waves having frequencies ranging above 20KHZ up to several MHZ i.e. human audible ranges are called ultrasonic waves. The sound waves of low frequencies i.e. below human audible range are infrasonic waves. Like life, ultrasonic was originated from sea. The five senses of living beings i.e. hearing, touch, smell, sight and taste are interdependent on each other. Out of these five, two are important for long rang interaction i.e. sight and hearing and other three have short range performance. But these things are different under water because long range sight has no use under water. By default, sound waves have long range sensing functionality under water. The era of ultrasonic began with the wrecking of RMS Titanic which crashed with ice berg. The detection of ice berg was done by high frequency waves. After that slow and steady progress was made in the measurement of propagation constant of material. The propagation of ultrasonic waves through solid material has been used to detect hidden cracks, porosity, voids and other discontinuities in metal. • 50. Persuasive Speech On Modern Life We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it? Buddha. Wow, that is both incredibly heavy and extremely motivating. Although most interpret this to be motivation for someone to follow their most outrageous and elaborate dream I find it to be a wee bit more reprimanding. To me it is a verse full of chagrin for those who continue to put off the things they needed to do a week ago. To me it is a command to stop with all the wispy and foolish excuses in favor of starting towards a better, less stressful, tomorrow! Most, namely myself, refuse to heed this call; opting instead for a life of half lived relaxation followed by hectic bursts of tears turmoil and stress; it s a life lived down to the wire, a life on the edge, a life run by the fact that you are perpetually behind schedule. As terribly exciting as that may sound this constant wave of slow mo into overdrive is taxing and, as one might expect, not conducive to a worker with top quality output. Even though its common knowledge that procrastinating has never been the best route to take somehow as we go through life it is in fact the path most travelled. So, if it s so bad for us why do we continue to do it? How does our procrastination affect us? How does it affect others? Most importantly how do we fix this seemingly harmless trend that catapults us into impossible messes and tangled situations? It s not so tedious a task to find articles

Not only culture, but just what a person is accustom to in general. Especially, if they are not only away but living in an entire different part of the world. Many families struggle and don t get along because of differences in behavior and in culture. In the story, Everyday Use written by Alice Walker the narrator throughout the story is the mother of both Maggie, and Dee, however the story would be somewhat different if it was written in the perspective of Maggie, Dee, or even an omniscient narrator. First, If the story were written in Maggie s point of view, it would not change quite as much. However, some things would become more clear to the audience. For example, when Dee was arguing with Mama as to why she should keep the quilts, had the story been told in her point of view the audience would understand why she said, She can have them, Mama ... I can member Grandma Dee without the quilts (Walker 7). Many who have read the story may have their own beliefs of why she would willingly give up something that would mean so much to her. Though Mama thought she knew exactly why. Perhaps she offered it because earlier in the story Mama explained how she believed Maggie sees Dee, ...eyeing her sister with a mixture of envy and awe. She thinks her sister has held life always in the palm of one hand, and that no is a word the world never learned to say to her (Walker 1). Dee has always

Rawls Social Inequality Furthermore, the second law of the John Rawls Theory of Justice states that social and economic inequalities are to be arranged so that they are both (a) reasonably expected to be to everyone s advantage, and (b) attached to positions and offices open to all (60). No doubt, John Rawls second principle of justiceestablishes social equality in the society and opens the door of opportunities to every single individual, who wants to rise from his/her present miserable situation. • 55. T’S Not Always Great Being A Translator. It Can Be Unstable, t s not always great being a translator. It can be unstable, with too much work one week and none the next. Sometimes customers may pay you late or not at all (thankfully I haven t experienced this with any of my fantastic clients). You re never going to make millions, and the deadlines can be very stressful. But, I love being a translator. Here s why. 1. It s flexible This is the number one thing I love about being a translator. It gives you so many possibilities and so much flexibility. Of course, you can choose whether to work in house (in an agency or for a large organisation with translation requirements), or to freelance. I ve been a part time freelancer for the last two years, and I m finally making the transition to full time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I learn new vocabulary and phrases all the time and get a better grasp of the written language over time. However I also get to use my other favourite skill writing. I ve always spent hours and hours of my free time writing everything from book and music reviews to fanfiction to essays and blogs, but now I actually get paid for it. 3. It s always different Unlike some jobs where you deal with the same thing every day, as a translator you can be translating an employment contract one day and medical records the next. A marketing brochure on Monday and a financial report on Friday. And you do get a choice about what area you choose to translate in. If you re especially interested in fashion, finance or food, you can choose to specialise in that area and do most of your work in an area that you actually enjoy reading and writing about. Every time I do a new translation I learn something new from reading and researching that topic, or at least a few new words or terms. 4. You make your mark on the text No matter what you translate, from which language and in which subject area, your translation is always unique! No matter how banal and everyday a text is, no two translators could possibly translate it in the same way. From which translation you decide to use for a certain term, to your turn of phrase, to any of the hundreds of tiny decisions you make in any text, you actually put your own personal stamp on the translation. Unless you re a

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the market demand for shipping capacity was high, owners would keep a vessel in operation as long as possible. Conversely, when market demand was low, scrapping rose. There had been very few scrapping in recent years, one reason might be that most of the capacity of the worldwide fleet of capsizes was fairly young which we can see from Exhibit 5, another reason might be the market demand is strong recently. Market demand is affected by trading volumes, world economy and even trading patterns. For example, in 2003, the Australian and Indian ore exports would begin, the volume would increase, demand for capsize would likely increase as well with the higher trading volumes. Exhibit 5 shows the evidence that demands (Iron ore vessel shipments) and supply (Fleet size) drive the average daily hire rate (Avg. spot rate). Factor 2: World economy The average daily hire rate is also determined by the world economy, especially its basic industries. When the economy is strong, the production and demand for the shipped products increase thus will result a lower hire rate. Conversely, when the world economy is in a recession, the hire rate will be lower. Take an example, the average hire rate declined in 1998 and 1999 because of the effect of 1998 financial crisis. Factor 3: Age of ships Average hire rate is influenced by the age of the ships. If a company s vessels are relatively new than the industry average, it earned a premium in daily hire rate
