The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
1. HOW DID YOU USE
MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES
IN THE CONSTRUCTION
AND RESEARCH,
PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?
2. BLOGGER
Blogger was an essential in creating my magazine. It gave me a very easy way of
organizing all of my research and tasks whilst still ensuring that it all appeared in a
professional manner. Blogger has many elements that allowed me to organise my work in
the most efficient way including adding tabs to the blog which would immediately link
you to the posts that were relevant to that particular section. I have used this for both my
AS work and my A2 work meaning that I now have a comprehensive knowledge of how
it is used. I have learned from this that there are many ways that you can link other
relevant pages to the blog and it has given me the chance to add lots of different media
rich websites whilst keeping them all in one place by embedding them into the relevant
blog post.
3.
4. PHOTOSHOP
I have had many skills developed since initially learning them during AS level. I am now able to carry out
many different tasks that are fairly complexed when I am using this application. Previously, I had very
little Photoshop skills but over the past year I have been able to progress those skills in order to make my
magazine and ancillary tasks as appealing as possible. The most relevant skill that I have learned over the
past two years is being able to edit out the background of an image so it would appear as though it
originally did not have an image as a back ground but rather a blank colour. I have used this skill a lot on
the website to make it appear as though there was not a background on the images. By learning how to
do this, it gave me a larger variety of options as I have been able to choose what would look best rather
than being limited to one option. In order to progress my skills further, I have looked online at YouTube
videos which explained a lot of the tools that were available in depth which allowed me to be able to
know how to use them effectively on my work

6. EMAZE/SLIDES.COM
Emaze and Slides.com are online applications that have allowed
me to display all ideas that I have had for my magazine in an
interesting and organised way. I initially discovered the
applications during AS but I have gone on to use them a lot more
often during A2 as they are very efficient and easy ways of
creating PowerPoints but making them seem interesting and more
engaging.
7.
8. PREZI
Throughout my course, the Prezi software has made a reoccurring
appearance when I have been uploading and organizing any ideas I have
had for my magazine and the research process. Like Emaze, it makes
presentations more interactive and interesting allowing my reader to be
more engaged and feel enjoyment while looking through the blog. Prezi
works in a way that allows you to easily upload images using a simple drag
and drop method which makes this process a lot easier than what is seen
on other presenting software.
9.
10. SLIDESHARE
I have used PowerPoint occasionally when uploading my research as it is a
relevant and simple way to organise all the information that I need to
record and it helps to make it readily available at all times as it is not an
online software. However, to upload the PowerPoint to my blog, I have
used Slideshare which is an online application. It helps to effectively post
a PowerPoint to my blog by embedding the link. Doing this means that
when looking for information, you do not have to go to an external
website as it altogether in one place on the blog.
11.
12. WIX WEBSITE CREATOR
I had never used a website creator prior to using Wix so when I came to
create my website, all the features were new to me and took a while to get
used to. As time progressed, my skills developed and I was soon able to
use the website to create appealing pages that are now featured on the
website. In order to find out exactly how to use Wix and how to develop
my skills with the creator, I looked online ant multiple YouTube tutorial
videos which helped me to understand the best ways to use the creator
and how to produce the website to a high, professional standard.
13.
14. DAFONT
Throughout my construction of my products, I have used DAFONT to find unique
and appealing fonts that would compliment my chosen genre. Using this website has
allowed me to access a wide range of fonts which enabled me to bring interest and
variety to my magazine whilst also making it stand out as the font were not the
common ones used on other magazines from the same genre. In doing this, I have
been able to introduce an element of individuality to my work as the fonts are rare.
Prior to using these, I did look at the fonts that were included in the Photoshop
application itself but these did not hold as much interest and individuality as I
wanted thus causing me to search elsewhere.
15.
16. YOUTUBE
YouTube featured in my research section as I was able to use this software to
upload a video I had taken where I asked three different people their opinions on
what they would like to see in a magazine, billboard and website. Without YouTube,
I would not have been able to upload the video and link it to my blog so I would
have had to use a more complicated method to show the video which would not
have been appealing and people would be less likely to view it. I also used YouTube
to search for many different tutorials on how to use other applications which
allowed me to develop my skills in certain areas. I would not have been able to
learnt he applications as quick as I did without it.
17.
18. FACEBOOK
For the first time, I use Facebook this year as a method of gaining
audience research into what my target audience would like to see in a
magazine, website and billboard. Using this website allowed me to
reach a variety of people thus giving me a wide range of feedback
from many different people that I have been able to refer back to
when creating my tasks.
19.
20. CANON 70D
By using a Canon 70D camera, I was able to make use of all the
different features that are in the camera. I have used the same camera
as last year as I was aware that the images were clear and of a high
quality which is what I wanted for my tasks this year.
