• Europe is the largest consumer of pesticides followed by
Asia
• China, U.S., France, Brazil, Japan are the largest producer,
consumer as well as trader around the world
• Most of the pesticides worldwide are used for fruit and
vegetable crops
• In the developed countries pesticides mainly herbicides, are mostly
used for maize.
• Maize and soybean pesticides occupied most of the pesticide
markets in the USA
• In Europe, Germany is the largest producer and second largest
consumer of pesticides.
