Spurious Pesticides • Inferior formulations which fail to kill pest and cause damage to crops • May not contain any plant protection ingredient • 40% pesticides used in India are spurious • Out of the total US $ 3.8 billion market, spurious pesticides account for US $ 1.5 billion • Mostly used in Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa • Manufactured mainly in Haryana and Delhi.
