At Night My Lost Memory Of The Beloved Poem Analysis
Faiz Ahmed Faiz writes: At night my lost memory of you returned / I was like the dying patient who,
for no reason, smiles. Of course, the night has been the time when people become vulnerable of their
thoughts and their painful past experiences. In the mid 1900s, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, delves into these
painful nights, where he reminisces about his beloved and longs for it, usually shown in his poetry.
Consequently, Faiz Ahmed Faiz uses three literary devices in many ways to portray the true subject of
poetry, based on him, which is the loss of the beloved. Specifically, Faiz uses emotional language,
hyperbole, and allegory to illustrate the theme of the loss of the beloved. Certainly, Faiz Ahmed Faiz
uses emotional language in different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This dark setting and mood work together to further emphasize the pain after losing a love one.
Moreover, he also uses abstract emotional language to create the melancholy mood, reinforcing the
theme of loss and the desire of the beloved. Faiz uses emotional language that is abstract to show
desired emotions and the search of hope. For instance, he writes during the spring nights, fill your
heart to the brim, and your eyes / too, / with longing and desire (551). The abstract emotional language
in this quote, longing and desire work together to construct the hope for his loss of the beloved. In
addition, in this quote, there is an exaggeration of being able to replete the heart with ideas, which is
not possible; because the whim comes from the mind, not the heart. Therefore, this hyperbole adds an
extra effect to amplify the duration of the longing for the loved one to further develop the theme of
loss of the beloved. Hence, while emotional language contributes to the mood to enhance the theme, it
is also the building blocks of hyperbole, an exaggeration of ideas. At the same time, Faiz utilizes
hyperbole in a variety of ways to further portray the loss of the beloved. He uses hyperbole when
describing his emotions that is not only affecting him emotionally, but physically too. Considering, he
has no courage to look at the hurtful memories again, however, a pain in

My Volunteer Efforts At The Club
Journal One Throughout the session on October 4th, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm I participated alongside
members in a variety of passive and active activities. The theme of today s session was wheel of
fortune , working on participants use of vowels and consonants. Throughout the session it was my
responsibility to help make up easy and simple puzzles for individuals to solve, while also aiding them
on their teams to enforce rules and promote participation. It was interesting to see the range of abilities
everyone had, and how each individual s disabilities contributed to a great atmosphere of learning,
sharing and growing. In addition overcoming and identifying contextual, personal, and task barriers
was a first hand experience I was able to understand throughout this session. This put into perspective
what it takes for an individual with a disability to overcome a challenge in order to participate,
proving the necessary services that The Club offers to its members, with accessible programming.
From my volunteer efforts I also believe that my personal contributions were beneficial to the
members at The Club. I was able to help individuals with their personal barriers and address them in
appropriate ways with the programming. An example being when I helped one of the club members by
challenging their intrinsic motivation and lack of connectedness, by stimulating them with the activity,
and providing encouragement when they participated. One of the main sayings at the club is if

Causes And Effects Of Autism
When someone mentions electric shock therapy what comes to your mind? Is there a connection
somewhere in your family tree to Fragile X ? Are there toxins in the air that are more dangerous than
we think? Can watching too much television while you are pregnant actually be harmful to your
unborn baby? What could all of these questions possibly have in common? The answer is Autism.
Imagine the overwhelming joy of holding your healthy newborn child and counting ten perfect fingers
and toes. It is hard to believe, when you look at his big blue eyes and dimples, that he could ever be
anything less than perfect. But two years later, you hear the words your child has autism , and can t
help wondering if you are responsible in some way.
Thesis Statement
There is growing evidence that the rapid rise in reported cases of autism is caused, and influenced
equally, by genetic and environmental factors. Environmental factors include a broad range of
influences as varied as parental age, birth complications and maternal nutrition at conception, vaccines
and exposure to pollution during early brain development. Most genetic factors are considered in
combination with environmental ones. It is believed that over time genetic changes brought on by the
environment are passed on to future generations predisposing them to disorders as autism. While
thousands of dollars and countless studies claim to have found a concrete link between environmental
and genetic factors and the new

How Did Hermes Get Together
Zeus and Maia: Zeus was romantically involved w. a nymph named Maia and they made love in a
cave and Maia gave birth to Hermes (Mercury) who arrived at dawn. During the afternoon, he was
playing the lyre. At night, he stole Apollo s cattle.
Hermes Invents the Lyre: Hermes departed from the cave and ventured off. He discovered a tortoise
and decided to kill it and make an instrument out of it. He cut it up and used its shell, an ox s hide,
reeds, and strings of sheep gut to invent the first seven stringed lyre.
Quickly tuned the instrument and was playing songs to honor Zeus and Maia.

Hermes quickly hid within his blankets to act like he was an innocent child, but Apollo would not be
fooled. Apollo looked around the cave, and started asking Hermes questions.
Hermes claimed that he couldn t possibly have stolen them since he was a newborn. Apollo refused to
believe him. Apollo brought Hermes to the top of MT. Olympus, so Zeus could resolve the issue for
them.
Zeus Decides the Case: Apollo told his side of the story first and explained the truth: how Hermes
stole his cattle. Hermes, however, continued to lie and swore on oath that he was not guilty of
committing the crimes. Zeus knew that Hermes was lying and just laughed and commanded him to
bring Apollo to his cattle.
The Reconciliation between Hermes and Apollo: Hermes brought Apollo to his cattle, and they made
peace. Hermes began to play his lyre, which captivated Apollo. Apollo cried that it was worth 50
cows!
Apollo promised Hermes that he would be the messenger to the gods and that him and Maia would
have fame amongst the gods. Hermes decided to give the lyre to Apollo and deemed that he would be
a master of music. In exchange, Apollo granted Hermes a whip and put him in charge of the cattle.
They went back to Olympus and Zeus bonded them as

The Importance Of Corporate Social Responsibility And Ikea
The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility to IKEA
This essay is about the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to IKEA. Corporate
Social Responsibility is a broad subject comprising of many definitions. It can be defined as, the
social responsibility of a business that encompasses the economic, legal, ethical and discretionary
expectations that society has of the organization at a given point in time (Carroll, 1979). Expectations
of society have been the key driver for how important and widely adopted CSR has become in today s
business world.
In a competitive business environment where consumers are increasingly aware of their buying power,
they are asserting their right to not only demand quality but hold companies to account to high
standards. They are concerned with where the goods were originated, the conditions under which the
goods are manufactured and what ethos a brand stands by. It has become crucial for a business to be
built on ethical practices in order for an organization to maintain its success. Over time the idea of
CSR just being an unnecessary expense has shifted, with it coming as far as being called out as a,
definitively important strategic issue , Businesses now see CSR as a method of generating and
protecting income through creating a good brand image and customer loyalty.
Not only but also smaller of organisations gain when Corporate Social Responsibility is implemented
(CSR) very actively in the business. The Body

Hip Hop And Hip Rap Music
The study of hip hop music has been cited well throughout its growth over time. The purpose of this
paper is intended to discuss hip hop culture and address cultural stereotypes associated with rap and
hip hop music, but also how its original lyrical intentions were forms of expression and art. It will
begin by guiding the reader through how it originated, its influence with the African Americans with
its subculture and popularity in urban areas, its styles of evolving, the introduction of hip hop and rap
to the public, the depiction it gave off with its criticisms from outsiders. An evaluation of hip hop
artists songs by Sugar Hill and the Gang, Run DMC, Queen Latifah, and N.W.A. Including lyrics from
the songs Rappers Delight , King of Rock , Latifah s Law , and Niggaz4Life . In the conclusion it
exposes how hip hop music is clearly for black Americans to express themselves freely and in fact did
not cause violence.
Hip hop cannot be understood by just examining how the artists might carry themselves or just their
lyrics alone. The uniting of hip hop in to society gave accommodations in an integrated generation of
young Americans and it changed the racial dynamics in the United States. Even though you might not
be born in the 70 s when hip hop was originated, it has become a part of our generation and has stuck
around ever since. This paper is written with the intentions to prove how the evolution of hip hop or
rap music has ultimately made America

The Difference Between Bisimulation And Forced Simulation
Literature Review: The difference between Bisimulation and Forced Simulation Haowei Zheng
hzhe024@aucklanduni.ac.nz 1. INTRODUCTION
Currently, component reuse techniques have become more and more important for handling the
rapidly increasing complexities of component based embedded system. Bisimulation is a well known
technique which has been proposed in the very early stage of simulation development. It provides the
functionality of checking for process equivalent in process algebras. Many applications have been
developed by using this technique. However, there are still some issues regarding using bisimulation
technique. One specific issue is component matching problem. To better resolve this problem, a new
technique which is called forced simulation is proposed and developed. In this article, we will carry
out a literature review to discover the difference between forced simulation technique and
bisimulation technique.
In the following sections, first of all the component matching problem will be explained more
detailed. Then the definition of bisimulation and forced simulation will be shown. After that, an
example of these two different techniques will be shown for comparing the difference between them.
2. COMPONENT MATCHING PROBLEM
In component based embedded system, component reuse methodologies has been an important focus
of industry since the complexities of modern embedded system are increasing rapidly. However, there

Native Civilizations And The United States
As I was sitting in a classroom learning about world history, I wondered how the ancient civilizations
responded to the immigration challenges that they had to face. Since the early civilizations, people
have immigrated from place to place to find a better life for their families. The bad situations they live
in obligated them to leave their houses and immigrated to unknown places. Even today thousands of
people immigrate to another country looking for a better life. For example, throughout the American
history millions of people around the world have left their homelands for a chance to start a new life in
the United States. In the stories, Changing America 2001, Letters from an American farmer, the Art of
Happiness, and Silent Dancing, we can see the most common problem that immigrants face in this
country, finding their identity. As an immigrant, I personally have experienced some of the challenges
that the immigrants in these stories share. I have gone through the process of adjusting to living in a
country where another language is spoken and has a different culture.
As humans, we start developing our identity since we are children. The living situations that we face
have a big impact in defining who we are. The story Silent Dancing is an example of how culture
shapes us in who we are. Culture refers to the characteristics of a particular group of people, including
their language, cuisine, social habits, religion, music, and arts. It is a people s way of life.

A Brief Note On Dan River Coal Ash Spill
Dan River Coal Ash Spill
On Sunday, February 2, 2014 on a cold day, a water pipe exploded under a coal ash impoundment at
Duke Energy s Dan River Power Station near Eden, North Carolina. This problem caused a lot of
commotion throughout the community, and to make matters worse, Duke Energy didn t announce this
incident until a couple of days later. Duke Energy estimated that between 50,000 to 82,000 tons of
coal ash ran into Dan River, causing it to litter and pollute with masses of debris. Duke s outrageous
proposal to fix this problem is to take money out of their customers in order to pay for the damages
caused on their behalf. Even if the lower estimates are correct, that s still 140,000 tons of toxic waste
contaminating Dan River. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unfortunate rupture of this pipe, allowed for the pond s ash coal to slither its way through the pipe
all the way into the Dan River; massive amounts of this substance leaked into the river causing it
damage to an extreme extent. Its break allowed coal ash to drain from the pond and spill into the Dan
River. (See Figure 1) The deadly components of the coal ash contains the elements such as arsenic,
selenium, boron, and many other deadly substances that contributed to the pollution of Dan River.
Even though fatal, when combined these elements are actually very useful and resourceful since they
created electricity. In 2013 this mixture of coal ash contributed to 39 percent of the energy in the
United States. Duke Energy and many other utility companies used this coal to generate electricity by
burning it and creating a cheaper and more efficient source of energy. This incident never had a back
up plan and wasn t thought out by Duke Energy s engineers; for many years, the ash was just kept in
pits underwater near the power plants. Due to the damages and negligence of Duke Energy, they now
face a multimillion dollar problem because not only do they have to make up for the spill into Dan
River, but also they have to get rid of all of their buried ash throughout every power plant they own.
For decades, that ash simply has been buried in pits near the power plants and covered with water.

The Paradox Of Nollywood
How can we explain this paradox of Nollywood s boom whose film products are being madly sought
after by the audience it targets and yet remains a victim of the scorn and contempt of the Western
press? Nollywood s success story is paradoxically a result of an economic failure of structural
adjustment policies in Nigeria, which rendered the shooting of celluloid films prohibitively expensive
(Ayakoroma 2010). By cutting corners and avoiding all the difficulties that francophone movies had to
contend with in depending wholly and solely on French subvention, Nollywood has aggressively filled
the void that Western filmic can never really fill in poverty stricken African contexts. Born out of an
economic necessity, Nollywood, has sadly been conditioned by the urge to make profit while paying
little or no attention to ideals of promoting a national esprit de corp, ethics of respect for copyright
laws or the recounting of the collective story of the people (Ayakoroma 2010).
The price paid by Nollywood for cutting corners has been the marginalization of its cinematographic

It is a perfect cinematographic imaging of the Nigerian situation. This makes it popular and easily
marketable (Haynes Okome 1998, 29). Nollywood s popularity is sealed by the fact that the audience

cinematographic products have equally undergone a veritable metamorphosis to have learnt from all
forms of cinemas and are gradually moving towards the enviable situation of a developed homegrown
video industry that can arguably boast of its own distinctness. Originally projected for the traditional
village settings of juju, village oriented comedy and folkloristic renditions, these ambulant theatres

Potential Challanges
Several potential challenges exist to the validity and reliability of the research questions, data and

of the information. This survey conducted used two methods. The first method was an online survey.
The second survey method was a face to face questionnaire. The face to face survey was conducted in
struggling retail locations and vicinity. Shopping Malls and heavy populated areas were the locations
chosen for this survey. One major concern is that the participants used were not necessarily current
Starbucks customers. The purpose for this was to increase and promote Starbucks to non customers.
Questions regarding the current Starbucks menu and ambiance does not solicit a true response if the
individual surveyed is not a customer. Furthermore, competition coffee retailers are also a large

The Similarities Between Zoroastrianism And Religion
Every religion has their own prophets, who are able to have access to a higher power, and guide those
who do not have this access. The prophet in Zoroastrianism is Zarathustra. Zarathustra comes from the
line of King Fereydun, a mythical king that Zoroastrians often use in their tales they share with their
children. Many Zoroastrians conceive him in different ways and are not confident on all of the roles he
played during his life. Some titles they believe he may have held are fire tending priest, prophet,
wonder worker, or philosopher. Zoroastrians believe that Zarathustra was the first person to give a
voice to Ahura Mazda s wisdom. He is known to be the author of the Gathas, although there is
speculation as to whether he actually wrote the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The topic is still argued whether Zoroastrianism had any influence on these religions, but the
similarities are intriguing. Evidence is hard to find, due to there being few texts available today in the
Zoroastrian faith. Ethical dualism is one of most obvious similarities between these faiths, which is a
belief in heaven or hell. Resurrection is one of the concepts that many scholars believe influenced
Christianity. Mentioned within Zoroastrian texts are characters called daevas , and may be similar to
the Devil. The book of Ezekiel mentions an apocalyptic vision, and may be derived from Zoroastrian
concepts. The book of Daniel also mentions an apocalypse, saying that, Those who lay dead in the
earth will rise, some will have eternal life, some not. Another similarity Zoroastrianism and these
religions have is of a savior figure. Scholars believe that the book of Isaiah contains a section called
the Little Apocalypse , which talks about God emptying the earth and saving the righteous after
wiping the planet clean. In one of Flavius Josephus s texts, he talks about Zoroastrians converting to
Judaism, which could account for some melding of beliefs. (Rose,

U.s. Constitution And The Constitution
The U.S. Constitution, as adopted by the Philadelphia Convention on September 17, 1787, sets out
three distinct branches of national government and provides powers to each that serve as a check on
the others. The branches include the executive branch: the president, the legislative branch: congress
and the judicial branch: the Supreme Court. The Constitution is referred to as a living document
because it is open to constant change. Additionally, the Constitution is open to constant interpretation
by the Supreme Court. When the document was written over 200 years ago, abortion and automatic

The first ten amendments to the Constitution, called the Bill of Rights, were ratified as a group by
December 15, 1791(Bianco, 2013). Within the Bill of Rights only three amendments stand out in
today world. Amendment One states that each citizen has the right to the freedom of religion, speech,
and press and is allowed to assemble and petition the government (Bianco, 2013). While we all have
the right of the freedom of religion we at the same token have taken religious freedoms a bit too far at
times. We have removed it from schools, yet we allow religious rights to those that are terrorizing our
country. The second amendment states that everyone has the right to have a gun (for lawful purposes)
and the right to form as a militia (Bianco, 2013). While this amendment is good for law abiding
citizens the argument remains for those that obtain guns illegally or possess weapons that should not
be possessed by an ordinary person. Gun advocates debate that many of the issues with guns in
America are not those of law abiding citizens but of those obtained illegally or in possession of those
that should not have them. Amendment nine states that citizens hold rights that are not stated in the
Constitution, and that those not stated have the right to be protected (Bianco, 2013). In other means
the Bill of Rights state that the government can t violate every liberty not specifically outlined in the
constitution examples could include Equal

Comparing the Myth in Ovid’s Echo and Narcissus and...
Contemporary Ancient Myth in Ovid s Echo and Narcissus and Wilde s Dorian Gray
Each time a story is told, elements of the original are often changed to suit new situations and current
societies, or to offer a new perspective. Over the centuries, Ovid s tale of Echo and Narcissus has been
told many times to new audiences, and in the late nineteenth century, it took the form of The Picture of
Dorian Gray. Echo and Narcissus is the tale of a beautiful boy who fell in love with his reflection in a
pond, and spurned others who loved him because he was so fixated upon himself. As a result of his
extreme self worship and consequent inability to love another, Narcissus perishes. Although several

Basil, the painter of Dorian s portrait, causes the innocent Dorian to realize his beauty when shown his
painting. Like Narcissus, Dorian becomes vain and self absorbed as a result of recognizing his
physical magnificence. Under the influence of Lord Henry, Dorian throws off all moral restraint and
lives a life of passionate self indulgence (Miller 384). Therefore, the lives of both Narcissus and
Dorian are shaped by the actions of their mentors.
In adapting Basil s persona from his mythological counterpart Tiresias, Wilde alters the original
character to illustrate how Basil s excessive admiration of Dorian led to the youth s eventual demise.
While Tiresias played only an indirect role in Narcissus life by foreseeing his future, Basil actively
leads Dorian to his corruption. Basil Hallward s extreme fondness for Dorian arises from the
inspiration that Dorian s beauty and purity provides in the expression of his art. Basil says to Dorian, I
quite admit that I adored you madly, extravagantly, absurdly...you became to me the visible
incarnation of that unseen ideal whose memory haunts us artists like an exquisite dream (Wilde 126).
These qualities in Dorian inspire Basil to visualize a new style of art which fuses classical and
romantic elements and harmonizes body and soul (Koll 155). Basil argues that the artist

Trends And Issues Of Non Profit Management Essay

Abstract
The challenge of nonprofit leadership can prove to be daunting for even the most optimistic of
individuals. The nonprofit industry is and expanding revolution, a force said to influence national and
global economies. Domestically, the nonprofit sector accounts for more than half of America s general
hospitals, nearly half of its education institutions and most of its family service agencies (Rowe,
2013), opportunities created by economic and political failures. In the wake of rapid development,
environmental pressures, economic impact, and growing challenges, nonprofits are being placed under
a microscope, being pushed to take more strategic approaches to NPO management and to apply
sound business principals. For a novice in nonprofit leadership, such as I, the endeavor of creating a
sustainable organization in such a competitive environment can be intimidating.
In the text, Introduction to Nonprofit Management, Rowe and Conway present the key theories of
NPO management through case studies. The examination of these cases highlight managerial issues
and trends that lead to the success and failures of many NPOs. This paper will analyze the areas of
management most foundationally critical to the survival and growth of a start up nonprofit
organization. Board selection, board governance, and leadership, are the steering wheel

My Clinical Placement For The University Hospital s...
My clinical placement for the fall 2016 is in the UW Health East Clinic s Internal Medicine, which is
located in 5249 E. Terrace Drive, Madison, WI. The UW East Clinic operates under the healthcare
entities of the UW Medical Foundation. The purpose of this paper is to explore practice setting of the
internal medicine and role of my preceptor.
Practice Setting The Internal Medicine providers offer comprehensive diagnostic and primary care
services to general population. The providers are involved in treating complex medical problems, the
diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic illnesses, gynecological care, urgent care, and minor
surgery. The staff members, demographics of patient population, payers system, and practice policies
of the Internal Medicine is discussed below:
Staff Members
The team of the Internal medicine is composed of both physicians and non physician health
professionals such as nurse practitioners (NPs). The other team members include clinic manager,
registered nurses, medical assistants, and schedulers. The physician are the primary care provider of
the patient, while the nurse practitioners are the part of the care team. The registered nurses (RNs)
worked as a triage nurse in the triage call center. The triage RNs are involved in triaging phone calls
and scheduling appointment for treatment accordingly, patient education such as wound care and
diabetes care, communication for medication refills through MyChart, and patient follow up for

Literary Devices In Out, Out By Robert Frost
The fun of using a chain saw is something anyone could enjoy. The feeling of power it gives, the mess
it makes, and the speed it has, but also the potential danger. This danger begs the question; should
children be allowed to use one? The poem Out, Out by published, and Pulitzer Prize winning poet
Robert Frost acknowledges a substantial crisis that was occurring at the time it was written. The poem
was published in 1916, and addresses the terrible labor conditions that children of the time were being
subjected to. While doing so he illustrates the idea that children were seen as expendable. The poem
tells the story of a young boy cutting firewood with a chainsaw in the evening. When his sister comes
to tell him it is time for dinner the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, not much has changed in the hearts of people. The world still contains little empathy, or
sympathy. This does not mean that all people feel this way, but little has changed since 1916. One
positive fact to note is that because of child labor laws the events of this poem can remain only in
poems and stories, and out of the news, at least in the United States and other first world nations.
However, in terms of adults caring for each other little has changed, people still do little to help others.
Not everyone is this way though, and the world would be a better place if others would follow in their
footsteps. For example, rather than shaming the poor people could help them get jobs, or instead of
laughing at people s problems they could help each other get through them. Perhaps after that Frost s
poem could become irrelevant and could instead be used as a reminder of how the world used to be,
and how much better off people are

The Beautiful Land Of Luna Fauncian
In the beautiful land of Luna Fauncian lived a family who gave birth to a baby girl. As she opened her
eyes her tiny fingers pointed to the sky above.
She loves nature, her mother said in awe.
Fauna! Let s name her Fauna in honor of the whimsical land that surrounds us.
And so it was. As Fauna grew up she explored the forest alone and kept to herself because she was too
shy to expose herself to social situations. After all, she enjoyed the presence of nature and the natural
vibe it gave off. Fauna loved nature so much that she was granted control of plants from Zeus to use
when she was in danger. Fauna had no idea of this gift. Then one day a huge boulder came out of no

But there was no response. The rock monster had committed the deed he had threatened. She turned

sink into the tides until he was out of sight.
Fauna was in deep despair, she wept for many hours because all the people she loved were taken from
her. Hours had passed, the exhaustion grew heavy, sorrow grew within her...she passed out into a deep
slumber. When she woke she found Hermes hovering over her.
Do you have anything to eat? Hemes asked cheerfully.
She wiped the tears from her eyes, a tear dripped from her palm. As it hit the ground a blueberry bush
flourished into life.
May I take one? Hermes asked.
Of course! Fauna responded.
For the love of Zeus why are you so blue?
Oh nothing I don t want, I mean uhm, I just shouldn t bother you with my troubles.
You can tell me, maybe I can help you, he said with comfort.
I really don t want to bother you but, my family is now a prisoner of Rockes and I can t find them. We

La Vida Por Perón Research Paper
La Vida por Perón . The crowd of a million and a half shouted these words, not for one minute, but for
several (Fraser and Navarso, 152). La vida por Perón are among many of Eva Perón s last words,
before her death on July 26th, 1952, but not among the first words she has used to promote Juan Perón
and Perónism in Argentina. Juan Perón is arguably one of the most well known presidents of
Argentina and his movement, the Perónist movement, has played a very important role in Argentina s
political history over the late 1940s to the early 1960s, and has inspired many current political parties

The Internal Frame Of Mind In Lewis Carroll s Alice In...
George Washington said, Happiness depends more upon the internal frame of a person s own mind,
than on the externals in the world. Alice s frame of mind throughout the entire journey in Wonderland
presented her with foreign challenges. These challenges questioned the way one should handle a new
world being thrust upon them. Alice could take every problem in stride or she could sulk in her
troubles. The choice was hers. When Alice was newly in Wonderland, she faced the challenge of
becoming the correct size to fit through the doorway. When she went back to the table for it, she found
she could not possibly reach it; she could see it quite plainly through the glass, and she tried her best
to climb up one of the legs of the table, but it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Microsoft Office vs. OpenOffice.org Essays
Microsoft Office vs. OpenOffice.org
According to Microsoft.com, a new version of Microsoft Office 2003 will normally cost anywhere
between $400 $500, depending on which version you get. While Microsoft also has a $150 Student
and Teacher Edition which is the same at the $400 Standard Edition, most people do not qualify for
that version, and even for those that do, $150 can still be a lot of money, especially for a student, and
$400 is much more than most people would want to spend simply to type a document occasionally.
These prices seem even more extreme in light of the fact that there are many free alternatives to
Microsoft Office. One of the most popular and well known alternatives is OpenOffice.org, which is ...

When it comes to standard features, Writer seems to have pretty much everything that I would look

Abortion Statistics

particular section stated that women in the twenty to twenty four year old age group obtained
the greatest proportion of abortions in 2003 one third (33.7%) of the total. (Abortion in the

that I found in this article states that 91.9% of 2010 abortions were preformed at or less than the

all 2010 abortions were medical abortions. (Abortion Fast Facts. (2014, May 27). CNN Wire)
This clearly shows that most women who decide to have abortions make that decision rather
quickly. This is usually due to an unfit situation for a child, often times due to unmarried women
who are receiving the abortion. Just this piece of data alone helps to support the hypothesis that
unmarried women are more likely to seek abortions than married women.
The third article I chose to use in my paper on the topic of abortion is entitled Abortion

Investigating The Mass Rate Of Sodium Hypochlorite
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this two part experiment was to determine the mass percent of sodium hypochlorite in
a commercial chlorine bleach sample (lab website). Titration is used in this lab twice. In Part one,
students will use the solution of KIO3 primary standard and use this solution to standardize a solution
containing sodium thiosulfate. When the KI is added to the solution, it forms a brown/yellow color.
Then students used titration to add Na2SO3 to make the color go from brown/yellow to colorless. In
the second part of the lab, students used the standardized Na2SO3 solution to determine the mass
percent of sodium hypochlorite in the commercial chlorine bleach. Students used titration to the

After this, students used titration to add Na2SO3 to make the color go from brown/yellow to colorless

important because students need to use the mole to mole conversion and if the equation isn t balanced
correctly, the numbers that the students use in the experiment will be messed up. The products on one
side have to equal the reactants on the other side in order to be useful. The molarity of KIO3 that
students started off with was 0.01 M. Group two expected to get similar results to that molarity.
Instead, the actual results in the first trial concluded to be 0.098 M and 0.108 M for the second trial.

Frank Lloyd Wright Architecture And Architecture
I believe in God, only I spell it nature. On June 8, 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland
Centre, Wisconsin. His father, William Carey Wright, was a preacher and his mother, Anna Lloyd
Jones, was a teacher. Wright grew up in Madison, Wisconsin for the majority of his childhood. He
would work on his uncle s farm during the summers; where he developed his deep appreciation for
nature. Wright would preach the importance of organic architecture and building within nature. No
house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house
should live together each happier for the other. To some individuals he was a social rebel; Wright had
many controversial political views were shunned by the public and he was famous for his unrelenting
demeanor. However, no individual could argue Wright s architectural expertise. Among all of Wright s
appealing designs, the most notable designs were his Prairie style designs and his Usonian designs.
Frank Lloyd Wright, was one of the most famous American architects in the world and the greatest
architect of the twentieth century. Wright s continuous contribution towards the history of architecture
and the world of architecture is insurmountable, especially, considering the ingenious development of
his architectural style over a career that lasted nearly seventy years.

Analysis Of The Film Natural Born Killers
The 20th century was arguably the most grotesque and violent period of modern contemporary human
existence. The 20th century witnessed the horrors of the first modern wars between World War 2, The
Vietnam War, and the Korean War just to name a few. The unnerving reality of possible nuclear
detonation as The Cold War progressed put the American populace in a state of constant fear over an
imminent nuclear holocaust. The 20th century also saw the birth of many infamous serial killers in its
later half such as Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, O.J Simpson, and many other homicidal psychopaths.
The glaring irony of the 20th century is how mankind becomes more violent as it progresses; the more
we humans advance the tools of destruction, the more likely we are to implement them, killing
exponentially more each time we progress as one would logically imagine our primal instincts would
become suppressed as humanity evolves. A century built on gore and violence inspired many theatrical
depictions of the events that had occurred within the 20th century, but the quintessential film satirizing
the 20th century whilst still also portraying a symbolic message would be Natural Born Killers by the
legendary cinematic director, Oliver Stone. Stone s film Natural Born Killers symbolizes the 20th s
century s murderous history and humanity s unsettling fascination and obsession with death and
murder. Natural Born Killers is not only a satirization of the massive amount of death in the 20th

Information Driven Technique For Extortion
Misrepresentation, waste, and manhandle in the social insurance framework are evaluated at $700

and avoid or recoup such billings. This paper proposes an information driven technique for extortion
location taking into account similar examination, misrepresentat ion cases, and writing survey.
Unsupervised information mining procedures for example, anomaly discovery are recommended as
compelling indicators for extortion. In view of a multi dimensional information model produced for
Medicaid claim information, particular measurements for dental suppliers were created and assessed
in investigative examinations utilizing exception identification connected to claim, supplier, and
patient information in a state Medicaid program. The proposed strategy empowered effective
recognizable proof of fake action, with 12 of the main 17 suspicious suppliers (71%) alluded to
authorities for examination with obviously strange and unseemly action. Future examination is in

Summary Of It s Complicated By Dana Boyd
In her book It s complicated Dana Boyd explores adolescents usage of social media. Her book covers
seven different facets of social media usage. Those being: Identity, bullying, privacy, addiction,
danger, inequality, literacy, and being public. Boyd uses countless personal interviews with teenagers
varying in age but primarily teens ranging from ages 13 17. Her main objective throughout the novel
is to empathize with today s youth to better understand how and why they use social media. She
believes that a lack of understanding by older generations is what leads to the negative stigma around
the younger generation and it s social media usage. Throughout the book you can find thematic
elements of power, social norms, and race. Boyd believes the teen network phenomenon is not a

Pros And Cons Of Small Town America
Let s talk about small town America. It is a wild place. It can be the greatest place on planet earth, or
the worse place you have ever been. Rural towns do have their ups and downs. For instance, in a
house out in the country, you can take a leak off of your back porch, and no one will care. However,
the location of many small country towns makes them a target for trouble. And out away from
civilization, there may be no one to help you in your time of need. So what are the pros and cons of
rural life?
Let s talk about the good things first. A popular good thing that comes to mind is privacy. Privacy is a
window to freedom. You can piss off of your front porch and no one cares, you can listen to your
music as loud as you want to, and you can roam free in your underwear and, likely, no one will see
you. Privacy is good, but what else is nice about small town America? One word: Friends. In small
rural towns, you begin to build close relationship with your neighbors, and sometimes, they may even
become family. Don t take them for granted either, because out in the country, they will be your first

I Am A Native Staten Islander
I am a native Staten Islander. Both my parents and set of grandparents were born on Staten Island as
well, so it s no surprise I was too. Much of my family lives on Staten Island and my whole childhood
memories and reflections are all based off being Staten Island. I do appreciate the childhood memories
I have as well as some of the people I have met, but I have mixed feelings overall about where I am
from and most days I do not like it. I definitely agree it has both it s pro s and con s at times.
As much as I hate to admit it, there are things I enjoy about Staten Island. Most of these things come
from believe it or not, the few tourist attractions Staten Island is home of. The architecture on Staten
Island isn t bad. I think the Verazzano Narrows bridge speaks volume when it comes to that, which
connects from Staten Island to Long Island and is visible from a spot in all 5 boroughs. My personal
favorite starts with the Historic Richmond Town which was founded as the Staten Island Historical
Society in 1856. The museum s focus creates opportunities for the public to explore the diversity of
the American experience from the colonial period to the present. Richmond town is 100 acres
consisting of 28 historic buildings dating from the late 17th to early 20th centuries, half still standing
at their original locations which makes the experience visiting overall more realistic and interesting.
Another reason I like Staten Island is because of Fort Wadsworth, which is one

patients came in to the office complaining of foot pain we were able to properly diagnose his
condition. The patient that came to us recently, had no clue what was causing his foot pain. The toe
pain was so intense that he thought his toe was going to fall off over the weekend. To which Dr.Freels
explained to him was indeed a real possibility if the condition progressed. The patient has had this
issue for several years but only complained of pain during the winter. This year due to a mild winter
he was hesitant to go see a specialist because he had not experienced severe pain...yet. Last week
during a cold front the patient was in extreme pain and was desperate for help. The patient asked us to
share his story so that others are able to get the help they need for their Chilblains. ... Show more

  • 3. At Night My Lost Memory Of The Beloved Poem Analysis Faiz Ahmed Faiz writes: At night my lost memory of you returned / I was like the dying patient who, for no reason, smiles. Of course, the night has been the time when people become vulnerable of their thoughts and their painful past experiences. In the mid 1900s, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, delves into these painful nights, where he reminisces about his beloved and longs for it, usually shown in his poetry. Consequently, Faiz Ahmed Faiz uses three literary devices in many ways to portray the true subject of poetry, based on him, which is the loss of the beloved. Specifically, Faiz uses emotional language, hyperbole, and allegory to illustrate the theme of the loss of the beloved. Certainly, Faiz Ahmed Faiz uses emotional language in different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This dark setting and mood work together to further emphasize the pain after losing a love one. Moreover, he also uses abstract emotional language to create the melancholy mood, reinforcing the theme of loss and the desire of the beloved. Faiz uses emotional language that is abstract to show desired emotions and the search of hope. For instance, he writes during the spring nights, fill your heart to the brim, and your eyes / too, / with longing and desire (551). The abstract emotional language in this quote, longing and desire work together to construct the hope for his loss of the beloved. In addition, in this quote, there is an exaggeration of being able to replete the heart with ideas, which is not possible; because the whim comes from the mind, not the heart. Therefore, this hyperbole adds an extra effect to amplify the duration of the longing for the loved one to further develop the theme of loss of the beloved. Hence, while emotional language contributes to the mood to enhance the theme, it is also the building blocks of hyperbole, an exaggeration of ideas. At the same time, Faiz utilizes hyperbole in a variety of ways to further portray the loss of the beloved. He uses hyperbole when describing his emotions that is not only affecting him emotionally, but physically too. Considering, he has no courage to look at the hurtful memories again, however, a pain in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. My Volunteer Efforts At The Club Journal One Throughout the session on October 4th, 2015 from 2pm to 5pm I participated alongside members in a variety of passive and active activities. The theme of today s session was wheel of fortune , working on participants use of vowels and consonants. Throughout the session it was my responsibility to help make up easy and simple puzzles for individuals to solve, while also aiding them on their teams to enforce rules and promote participation. It was interesting to see the range of abilities everyone had, and how each individual s disabilities contributed to a great atmosphere of learning, sharing and growing. In addition overcoming and identifying contextual, personal, and task barriers was a first hand experience I was able to understand throughout this session. This put into perspective what it takes for an individual with a disability to overcome a challenge in order to participate, proving the necessary services that The Club offers to its members, with accessible programming. From my volunteer efforts I also believe that my personal contributions were beneficial to the members at The Club. I was able to help individuals with their personal barriers and address them in appropriate ways with the programming. An example being when I helped one of the club members by challenging their intrinsic motivation and lack of connectedness, by stimulating them with the activity, and providing encouragement when they participated. One of the main sayings at the club is if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Causes And Effects Of Autism When someone mentions electric shock therapy what comes to your mind? Is there a connection somewhere in your family tree to Fragile X ? Are there toxins in the air that are more dangerous than we think? Can watching too much television while you are pregnant actually be harmful to your unborn baby? What could all of these questions possibly have in common? The answer is Autism. Imagine the overwhelming joy of holding your healthy newborn child and counting ten perfect fingers and toes. It is hard to believe, when you look at his big blue eyes and dimples, that he could ever be anything less than perfect. But two years later, you hear the words your child has autism , and can t help wondering if you are responsible in some way. Thesis Statement There is growing evidence that the rapid rise in reported cases of autism is caused, and influenced equally, by genetic and environmental factors. Environmental factors include a broad range of influences as varied as parental age, birth complications and maternal nutrition at conception, vaccines and exposure to pollution during early brain development. Most genetic factors are considered in combination with environmental ones. The Importance Of Corporate Social Responsibility And Ikea The Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility to IKEA This essay is about the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to IKEA. Corporate Social Responsibility is a broad subject comprising of many definitions. It can be defined as, the social responsibility of a business that encompasses the economic, legal, ethical and discretionary expectations that society has of the organization at a given point in time (Carroll, 1979). Expectations of society have been the key driver for how important and widely adopted CSR has become in today s business world. In a competitive business environment where consumers are increasingly aware of their buying power, they are asserting their right to not only demand quality but hold companies to account to high standards. They are concerned with where the goods were originated, the conditions under which the goods are manufactured and what ethos a brand stands by. It has become crucial for a business to be built on ethical practices in order for an organization to maintain its success. Over time the idea of CSR just being an unnecessary expense has shifted, with it coming as far as being called out as a, definitively important strategic issue , Businesses now see CSR as a method of generating and protecting income through creating a good brand image and customer loyalty. Native Civilizations And The United States As I was sitting in a classroom learning about world history, I wondered how the ancient civilizations responded to the immigration challenges that they had to face. Since the early civilizations, people have immigrated from place to place to find a better life for their families. The bad situations they live in obligated them to leave their houses and immigrated to unknown places. Even today thousands of people immigrate to another country looking for a better life. For example, throughout the American history millions of people around the world have left their homelands for a chance to start a new life in the United States. In the stories, Changing America 2001, Letters from an American farmer, the Art of Happiness, and Silent Dancing, we can see the most common problem that immigrants face in this country, finding their identity. As an immigrant, I personally have experienced some of the challenges that the immigrants in these stories share. I have gone through the process of adjusting to living in a country where another language is spoken and has a different culture. As humans, we start developing our identity since we are children. The living situations that we face have a big impact in defining who we are. The story Silent Dancing is an example of how culture shapes us in who we are. Culture refers to the characteristics of a particular group of people, including their language, cuisine, social habits, religion, music, and arts. It is a people s way of life. ... • 16. The Paradox Of Nollywood How can we explain this paradox of Nollywood s boom whose film products are being madly sought after by the audience it targets and yet remains a victim of the scorn and contempt of the Western press? Nollywood s success story is paradoxically a result of an economic failure of structural adjustment policies in Nigeria, which rendered the shooting of celluloid films prohibitively expensive (Ayakoroma 2010). By cutting corners and avoiding all the difficulties that francophone movies had to contend with in depending wholly and solely on French subvention, Nollywood has aggressively filled the void that Western filmic can never really fill in poverty stricken African contexts. Born out of an economic necessity, Nollywood, has sadly been conditioned by the urge to make profit while paying little or no attention to ideals of promoting a national esprit de corp, ethics of respect for copyright laws or the recounting of the collective story of the people (Ayakoroma 2010). Mentioned within Zoroastrian texts are characters called daevas , and may be similar to the Devil. The book of Ezekiel mentions an apocalyptic vision, and may be derived from Zoroastrian concepts. The book of Daniel also mentions an apocalypse, saying that, Those who lay dead in the earth will rise, some will have eternal life, some not. Another similarity Zoroastrianism and these religions have is of a savior figure. Scholars believe that the book of Isaiah contains a section called the Little Apocalypse , which talks about God emptying the earth and saving the righteous after wiping the planet clean. La vida por Perón are among many of Eva Perón s last words, before her death on July 26th, 1952, but not among the first words she has used to promote Juan Perón and Perónism in Argentina. Juan Perón is arguably one of the most well known presidents of Argentina and his movement, the Perónist movement, has played a very important role in Argentina s political history over the late 1940s to the early 1960s, and has inspired many current political parties in Argentina ( Perónist ). • 28. The Internal Frame Of Mind In Lewis Carroll s Alice In... George Washington said, Happiness depends more upon the internal frame of a person s own mind, than on the externals in the world. Alice s frame of mind throughout the entire journey in Wonderland presented her with foreign challenges. These challenges questioned the way one should handle a new world being thrust upon them. Alice could take every problem in stride or she could sulk in her troubles. The choice was hers. When Alice was newly in Wonderland, she faced the challenge of becoming the correct size to fit through the doorway. When she went back to the table for it, she found she could not possibly reach it; she could see it quite plainly through the glass, and she tried her best to climb up one of the legs of the table, but it ... Nearly two miles high, added the Queen. Well, I shan t go at any rate, said Alice: besides that s not a regular rule: you invented it just now. (112). At this point in the book, the reader sees that Alice is no longer the little girl who cried when she did not fit through the door. She is now a confident girl who stands up for herself. This moment in the book shows the pinnacle of Alice s growth as a person and the growth of her mind frame. Throughout Through the Looking Glass, Alice becomes more comfortable in standing up for herself and knowing how to figure out the situations thrown her way. Microsoft Office vs. OpenOffice.org Essays Microsoft Office vs. OpenOffice.org According to Microsoft.com, a new version of Microsoft Office 2003 will normally cost anywhere between $400 $500, depending on which version you get. While Microsoft also has a $150 Student and Teacher Edition which is the same at the $400 Standard Edition, most people do not qualify for that version, and even for those that do, $150 can still be a lot of money, especially for a student, and $400 is much more than most people would want to spend simply to type a document occasionally. One feature I have not found in Writer, though, is the automatic grammar checker. I m not sure if this is really a bad thing, since it seems that Word s grammar checker was not extremely useful, because many times it would suggest something that was wrong, but I found that it still would occasionally catch things that I miss, and so it would be nice to have something like that just as a backup. He would work on his uncle s farm during the summers; where he developed his deep appreciation for nature. Wright would preach the importance of organic architecture and building within nature. • 34. Analysis Of The Film Natural Born Killers The 20th century was arguably the most grotesque and violent period of modern contemporary human existence. The 20th century witnessed the horrors of the first modern wars between World War 2, The Vietnam War, and the Korean War just to name a few. The unnerving reality of possible nuclear detonation as The Cold War progressed put the American populace in a state of constant fear over an imminent nuclear holocaust. The 20th century also saw the birth of many infamous serial killers in its later half such as Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, O.J Simpson, and many other homicidal psychopaths. The glaring irony of the 20th century is how mankind becomes more violent as it progresses; the more we humans advance the tools of destruction, the more likely we are to implement them, killing exponentially more each time we progress as one would logically imagine our primal instincts would become suppressed as humanity evolves. A century built on gore and violence inspired many theatrical depictions of the events that had occurred within the 20th century, but the quintessential film satirizing the 20th century whilst still also portraying a symbolic message would be Natural Born Killers by the legendary cinematic director, Oliver Stone.
