the second inmate to die during Mama s stay at Frangipani House, she died on her
nintieth birthday.
Mrs. Ida Gomez She replaces Miss Mason. We learn that she has had 5 stillbirths and
suffers from fits . Mama King had planned to use one of these episodes of fits to
escape, but Mrs. Gomez suffered from a stroke before Mama King s plan could be
executed.
Miss Olga Turvey She feared death. She was afraid to look at Miss Tilly s body
because she thought that she was next in line to die. Mama King reveals that this old
lady had a guilty conscience; she supported her son in denying his child, which led to
her fear of death.
Old Mother Dickson (Titsy) She believed that if a woman got married, it meant that

Art Curriculum
She explained that many of the projects the students create are based off of themes
they are studying in class, for example third grade is looking at geometric design
and creating art in the style of African tribes. Mrs. Fitzgerald explained the art
curriculum is a process and each year more technical skills are added. Mrs.
Fitzgerald assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the fine arts department by

book, Cantor begins to describe how the black plague began and the symptoms of

economic problems and are only different in a few respects. Each period is marked
by a massive run ups in asset prices followed by a crash in the stock market and sent

threatened to shut down the financial system altogether, President Franklin

and go somewhere new . In fact, sometimes we are the ones saying this. This
promise is especially heard in high school, when students discuss their college plans.
But how many people actually end up leaving the state they live in? How many dare
to venture out to different states and countries far away from home? In Poetryof
Departures, Philip Larkin(the poet) states that there are only two types of people
those who leave, and those who stay. From the very start of this poem, he declares
We all hate home And having to be there.. . Most people would say that this is a
false statement; not all of us hate home.On the contrary, most of us have been the
ones saying that we are anxious to leave. So from the beginning, the poet has us
questioning if we truly do hate home enough to leave it. Next, he makes a personal
statement, I detest my room...And my life, in perfect order.. . Here, Larkin sounds
ungrateful and unsatisfied with the simple luxuries he has, which are things we
often take for granted. The sudden use of negativity in the first stanza is very
important. He could have said I have good books, a good bed, and a nice house,
but I am unhappy , however, this would lead the reader into believing that he is

Abstract The purpose of this article by Diffenbaugh et.al. is to determine how
temperature increases due to anthropogenic warming change the probability of
precipitation deficits that cause severe drought conditions, and determine what the
conditions will look like in the future. They used historical precipitationand
temperature data with Palmer Drought Metrics and global climatemodels to attempt
to answer this question. It was found that in the past twenty years, the frequency of
drought years has doubled, without any significant change in the trends of
precipitation variability. This was attributed to significant increases in positive
temperature anomalies causing an increased frequency of precipitation deficits
leading to more occurrences of drought years. Global climate modeling suggested
that by 2030, the region will transition to a regime where there is a 100% risk that
all future dry years will coincide with warmer conditions, increasing the risk of
extended drought conditions. This is not the first time this region has experienced
prolonged drought conditions. However, it is the first time the drought has been this
severe. Since 1977, the per capita water usage has decreased such that in 2013 the
water demand is similar to that of 1977, meaning that it will be very difficult to come
