Hayden Groth Case Study
Dear school board, I, Hayden Groth think that police officers have the right to come to the school
and make occasional, unannounced visits to the high schools to search for drugs, guns or things
that can put people in danger. when they make an appearance to schools they search the whole
property of the school, including student lockers and the parking lot. People may think that their
unannounced visits, may not like them because they could have something on the property that
maybe they forgot that was in their locker or car. For me I think that their visits are 100% fine
because if they were to announce that they are coming then they more than likely not find anything
because students would then have time to get rid of anything that would

Role of Woman During the Revolutionary War
Role of Woman During the Revolutionary War Have you noticed that in most history text books
that the role of woman was never truly expressed in detail? Of corse we have heard of Gorge
Washington, John Adams, male solders of the Revolutionary war, high ranking officers and the
generals; what about the wives? What were the woman s roles during these times? We should
know that all woman were inferior to men, they had responsibilities and rights based on there
social status. Most woman stayed home to take care of the children and their home duties, wile
there husbands were away at war. Becoming a solder was out of the question, but of corse some
woman went with their husbands, brothers or fathers. Disguised as men these... Show more content

She was shown a sketch of the flag that was wanted that had a six pointed star. But she showed
them how to cut a five pointed star in one cut, impressed with that she was appointed to make the
flag. She finished the flag around May 1776. On June 14, 1777 Congress adopted the flag. Woman
during the Revolution were cooks and maids for both British and American armies. They had
almost no restricted access to the camps of the soldiers. The woman were never suspected of
providing troop movements, changes in leadership, and shortages. They would often tell colony
leaders or go to General Washington directly and proved this information. Nancy Morgan Hart was
a very effective agent. She gathers information about the British army in Augusta, Georgia. She also
helped defend a fort from assault by a group of Tories (an american colonist who supported the
british during the Revolutionary war) and Native Americans. African American woman also played
a big part during the Revolutionary War. Although no actual documents exist telling us this, but
diaries and stories help us place them there. They helped support the militia (a military force that
was used in emergency). They also moved in with the wives of the men that were in battle, and
supported them when they needed it. Spying was also a huge part by the African American woman.
They kept the Colonial authorities informed about that the British armies next moves. During the

Cruelty In Shakespeare s King Lear
Goneril was the initial influence to why Regan restored honor through the acts she committed.
Regan never inquired lies Goneril told her against their father. This initially portrayed Regan to be
less wicked than Goneril. However, since both sisters decided to form an alliance when Goneril
says, let s hit together , Regan s consistency against Learincreased, resulting with Goneril
controlling Regan s mind with misinterpretations about their father and his knights. This results in
the first honor act, in which Regan kicks her father out of the house and into the dreadful storm.
She orders her husband, saying, Shut up your doors: He is attended with a desperate train, And
what they may incense him to, being apt To have his ear abused, wisdom... Show more content on

As the play progressed, the cruelty of her actions increased. Her selfish desires resulted in her
losing the little sympathy she had for her father. Furthermore, her arrogance prevented her from
accepting others feeling a sense of compassion and sympathy for her father. When she was alerted
about Gloucester keeping contact with her father, she taunted saying, let him smell his way to
Dover . She referred to her vile intention of making Gloucester blind. Through the help of Goneril,
they agree to the cruel idea of yanking his eyeballs out. They assured themselves that these horrific
actions would ease the struggle they were dealing with in order to attain the honor they desired.
The brutality of Regan s thoughts and intentions increased as the play progressed. Rather than
feeling guilt and having shame for the sin she committed, she has guilt for committing a worse of
an act. This triggered her to continue the wrongdoing because there was no innocence in her heart.
In the play, she says, Faith, he is posted hence on serious matter. It was great ignorance, Gloucester

Leadership Competencies And Leadership Skills
The ability and strength of an individual to achieve goals by supervising processes, guiding
initiatives and employees is defined as Leadership skills. Valuable leadership skills include taking
thoughtful decisions, allocation of resources, and the ability to delegate, inspire and communicate
effectively. Other leadershiptraits include honesty, confidence, commitment and creativity.
Leadership competencies can be used to effectively select, develop and promote leaders in an
organization .The difference between Leadership Skilland leadership competency can explained as
the required level of efficiency to perform a task assigned is known as skill whereas the quality
to accomplish the same is called as competency. When creating leadership competencies certain
factors are considered such as business strategies and future trends. To drive the use of
competencies in selecting and developing leaders HR practitioners should use the business
strategies. To effectively build a unique set of skills for the organization s leaders, the firm will
sustain competitive advantage. The role of a project manager has always been my interest. The
position which I have always desired is a role of project manager. Leadership skills are utmost
important for today s mangers as the Project is entirely dependent on them , because without a
good leader, a project is unlikely to be completed successfully. These skills are

Notes Of A Native Son By James Baldwin
James Baldwin, Notes of a Native Son (originally appeared in Harper s, 1955)
I had never thought of myself as an essayist, wrote James Baldwin, who was finishing his novel
Giovanni s Room while he worked on what would become one of the great American essays.
Against a violent historical background, Baldwin recalls his deeply troubled relationship with his
father and explores his growing awareness of himself as a black American. Some today may
question the relevance of the essay in our brave new post racial world, though Baldwin considered
the essay still relevant in 1984 and, had he lived to see it, the election of Barak Obama may not
have changed his mind. However you view the racial politics, the prose is undeniably hypnotic, ...

Before I heard Sontag thirty one, glamorous, dressed entirely in black read the essay on
publication at a Partisan Review gathering, I had simply interpreted campy as an exaggerated
style or over the top behavior. But after Sontag unpacked the concept, with the help of Oscar
Wilde, I began to see the cultural world in a different light. The whole point of camp, she writes, is
to dethrone the serious. Her essay, collected in Against Interpretation (1966), is not in itself an
example of camp.

John McPhee, The Search for Marvin Gardens (originally appeared in The New Yorker, 1972)
Go. I roll the dice a six and a two. Through the air I move my token, the flatiron, to Vermont
Avenue, where dog packs range. And so we move, in this brilliantly conceived essay, from a
series of Monopoly games to a decaying Atlantic City, the once renowned resort town that
inspired America s most popular board game. As the games progress and as properties are
rapidly snapped up, McPhee juxtaposes the well known sites on the board Atlantic Avenue, Park
Place with actual visits to their crumbling locations. He goes to jail, not just in the game but in
fact, portraying what life has now become in a city that in better days was a Boardwalk Empire. At
essay s end, he finds the elusive Marvin Gardens. The essay was collected in Pieces of the Frame
(1975).

The Language Of An Organization Essay
An association without a language specifically used for communicating is unfathomable. Workers
in an organization utilize language to express and empathize with others opinions, maintain
communication, take care of issues, learn and develop, decide, and monitor records. As the
globalization of business has made corporations and organizations with outposts throughout the
world, language boundaries have developed into many different issues that would have gone
unnoticed on account of domestic organizations, where representatives impart in their primary
language. Given this globalized business environment, it is crucial for multinational corporations to
devise a primarily spoken language. Throughout most of the world, that primary language used in
companies and business is English.
English is a lingua franca, or a common or bridge language as it is often called. Bridge languages
are primarily spoken languages across the world: English, Chinese Mandarin, German, etc.
English is the most prominent language spoken, having 1.5 billion speakers across the world
according to Statista, and Mandarin, the secondary language, has a measly 1.1 billion. This
major difference in speakers has developed the use of English as a major language in trade.
Many companies are undergoing a process termed Englishization which is the process of making
one s company soley process in English. This process is used by companies seeking to join the
global market, and has been used to create a

Alma s Two-State Solution
Imagine if you were caught between a century old fight between two groups fighting for
legitimate rights and valid aspirations. This is the story of the new generation of teenagers like
Alma, a 19 year old Palestinian living in the West Bank. For most of Alma s life she has had to
fear for her life and the lives of her family members. What truly stands out about Alma is the deep
comprehension that she has about the situation that is occurring around her rather than seeing the
Palestinians and the Israelis as two different groups she sees them as one. She believes that at the
end of the day that the Palestinians and the Israelis are human beings who deserve dignity, rights,
and equal lives. That why for the sake of the new generation of Palestinians and the Israelis the
international community should make it their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two state solution allows for the Palestinians and the Israelis to be able to fulfill their need for
self determinism, which is the right that has been repeatedly encroached upon. The two state
solution will also result in the mending of the relationship that Israel has with the Palestinians and
the Arab world and it will allow for citizens of each state to be able to live their lives without the
constant fear of violence. To begin with, the two state solution advocates for the importance of
engagement and dialogue between the Israelis and the Palestinians and the Arabs of the middle
east. In 1948 1982, the relationship between the Israelis and the Arabs escalated leading to a
civil war. From 1982 and onwards the tensions have simmered as both side remember the
egregious aftermath. This is evident because about 400,000 Palestinians Arabs had fled from
Israel after the segment of the war that lasted form 1948 1949 (Gale). The forced mass exodus of
the Palestinians has been described by the United Nations Refugee Agency as one of the most
protracted case

Door Openers
What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers Are you
considering automating your garage door in Dallas? There are three standard types of garage
door openers to consider. These are: 1. Chain drive garage door openers As the name suggests,
these openers employ the use of a chain in the opening mechanism of the door. The chain
attaches to the metal trolley in a similar way as a chain on a bicycle. Later models of the chain
driven doors get their power from DC motors. 2. Belt driven openers These models are similar in
operation to the chain driven models. However, a reinforced belt replaces the chain. This belt pulls
and pushes the trolley. Belts used in these doors are made of various strong materials including...

The belt used in this version eliminates any metal on metal contact. This reduces the amount of
sound or vibration associated with the operation of the door. Belt driven openers however, cost
much more than other types of openers. They therefore require a large investment up front for
their purchase and installation. 2. Chain driven openers These are the most economical choice for
garage door openers. They are also one of the most dependable models available. The main
disadvantage of using chain driven openers is that they produce a lot of noise during the operation
of the door especially if the garage is attached to the rest of the house. Later versions that use DC
motors incorporate soft start and stop technology. This has made them much quieter than the older
versions. 3. Screw driven openers These openers require the least amount of maintenance as they
have few moving parts. They also provide fairly quiet operation as they feature tracks lined with
plastic to reduce the noise. They are, however, not suitable for areas that experience large variations
in temperature between summer and winter. They tend to run into a lot of trouble when installed in
these regions. However, manufacturers continue to make improvements on these

The Harm Principle In John Stuart Mill s On Liberty
The dominant idea of John Stuart Mill s On Liberty is the harm principle, the assertion that society
can only intervene with the action of an individual when said action harms or heightens the
probability of harm to another individual without their consent. However Mill offers in addition a
noteworthy caveat to the harm principle. He asserts that society can also intervene when the choice
of the individual is to irrevocably surrender their libertyeven when said action harms only
themselves
This exception to the harm principle emphasizes its purpose, the preservation of liberty which he
deems to be a necessary condition for the cultivation of progress in society. The responsibility of
accomplishing this progress he lays upon the backs of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let us imagine a kingdom which shares both its northern and its southern borders with hostile
states. The son of the king informs him that the state to the north is readying their army for an
invasion to exterminate the kingdom s people. A courtier has heard the prince discussing a plan
to divert the royal army in order to allow the southern neighbor to invade the kingdom and
slaughter its people in exchange for a sum of gold. If the king s power is unlimited and the
advocate of any opinion which he dislikes can be punished merely because he dislikes it, the
courtier will naturally hesitate in expressing what he knows for fear he will not be believed and
face execution for his insult upon the royal family. If faced with a sufficient probability of death
from informing the king and from the invading army from the south, the courtier would choose, if
he were to obey Hobbes s right of nature, to flee the kingdom without providing any warning. In
an atmosphere of liberty, as would exist if the king had bound been bound by the harm principle,
the courtier may declare what he has heard. He would face no dilemma, because the threat of death
for informing the king would disappear, if the king does not believe him, he has not forfeited the
opportunity for escape

Freedom s Journal History
The state of New York s last slaves were freed in 1827. Soon after, African Americans all over
starting to come together to tell a story that will be remembered for generations to come.
Freedom s Journal was the first African American owned newspaper in the United States. The
newspaper was founded by many free African American men in New York City. One of which
was Rev. Peter Williams Jr.. The first copy of Freedom s Journal was published on March 16th,
1827 and was put out of business in 1829 by a new newspaper called The Rights of All . The
Rights of All was published by Samuel Cornish, also the former senior editor for Freedom s
Journal. Although millions of people in the south were still enslaved in the year 1827, the
newspaper Freedom s Journal was created for the hundreds of thousands of slaves freed in the
North. The founders of the newspaper chose Samuel Cornish and John B. Russwurm as junior and
senior editors. According to the nineteenth century African American journalist, Garland Penn,
Cornish and Russwurm s objective with Freedom s Journal was to oppose New York newspapers
that attacked African Americans and encouraged slavery. Mordecai Noah wrote articles that

Does Dark Matter Exist
Even though dark matter is in existence we don t have the instruments available to detect it yet. A
theory suggests that dark matter is what actually makes up a large portion of our universe. Even
though we can t detect it, we know dark matter exists because it can interact gravitationally with
visible matter and radiation. A professor from New York stated that dark matter
plays a large role in
causing geological catastrophes as well as mass extinction.
`An example of when dark matter played a role in a large catastrophe is the extinction of
Dinosaurs 65 million years ago. As the solar system moves around in a cyclic motion it passes

The choice of the location was guided by the fact that Uganda is among the low income countries
with 39% of young children compromised mental development (Graham MacGregor e tal, 2007).
The district had experienced civil conflicts for many years. Conflicts had decreased and families
had started to return to their homes. The study was an affirmation of the responsive parenting
approaches that uphold warm accepting behaviors, response to children needs signal and
significance of child development. The implementation strategy was integrated randomized cluster
model with Individual home visits, clinic visits and community based group sessions. This was
guided by a structured curriculum for training parents, Demonstrations with materials, opportunities
to practice new skills with relevant feedback and problem solving discussion with other parents.
The main sampling technique use was simple random sampling. The basic units of the cluster
sampling was the parish (the sub district) in which it 85% of the population is suggested to have
lived. The structure of a parish constitutes two communities which are build up of three to seven
villages bordering each other with one elected leader. Screening of twelve parishes was done and
by use of the 2012 census, two or three communities were identified per parish. Eligibility was

The Aztec Empire Essay
Who were the Aztecs? Why were they considered to be an empire even greater than the Romans?
And how was Hernan Cortes able to defeat them? These are some of the questions that people ask
about these indigenous people. These people are known as the Aztecs but originally called
themselves Mexica. They came to Mexicoin the early thirteenth century and from there they started
to develop a social structure and government consisting of priests, kings, peasants, and soldiers.
Besides having a very organized society the Aztecs had a very large and intimidating army
consisting of full time soldiers and peasants. By 1427 A.D. the Aztecempire became the dominant

They had cannons to bring down the Aztec homes and temples, they had swords that easily cut
through Aztec spears, but what I think gave the Spaniards such a great advantage was the armor
they wore and the horses they rode on. The reason being that wearing armor would make killing the
Spaniards that much harder and being mounted on a horse only made them more intimidating in the
eyes of the Aztecs as well as giving them the fighting advantage.
The second reason that the Aztecs fell to the Spaniards is just as important as the first and it s
the Indian tribes that assisted the Spaniards in finding and defeating the Aztecs. Although there
were a few Indian tribes that became allies and assisted the Spaniards it was the Cempoala
Indian tribe that helped them set up a base on a shore of a village that Cortes named Vera Cruz
when he claimed it in the name of Spain. It was at this base that supplies could come in with less
danger to the Spaniards and also it was the same shore where Cortes burned his ships in order to
keep his men from retreating to Cuba. Besides the Cempoala tribe the Tlaxcalans after being
defeated by the Spaniards gave food, water, translators, and gifts to Cortes and his men as well as
one thousand Indians when the battle against the Aztecs began. The reason for the Tlaxcalans and
the rest of the Indian tribes giving so much support and assistance to the Spaniards had to

The Split Horn Life Of A Hmong Culture Summary
In this documentary, The Split Horn Life of a Hmong Shaman in America focuses on the
religious containment of the Hmong people. Their rich history goes back to the time in a village
in North East Asia where they believed that the Shaman were the great healers for the sick. The
Hmong were living a peaceful life until the Vietnam war broke out and destroyed their village.
Many of the Hmong villagers fled their beloved homeland in order to seek refuge form the war.
Many were fortunate enough to find shelter in Thailand where they stayed for the majority of the
conflict. Some were even lucky enough to get a sponsorship to America. As they slowly came to
America the Hmong were worried that they might lose their religious roots to the American
customs.
Some of the Hmong people had to learn English and how to read and write. In their village, they
never had to learn how to read or write because of their background and their religion. The Hmong
people feel that their culture and values still play a major role in their daily lives. Many Hmong
communities rely on the shamans for religious and spiritual support. Without the shamans, the
Hmong culture would be incomplete and slowly diminish.
The Hmong s believe in shamans. Shamans are religious specialists commonly found in small scale
egalitarian societies. They are believed to have the power to contact powerful cosmic beings
directly on behalf of others, sometimes by traveling to the cosmic realm to communicate with them.

The Great Purge Character Analysis
Another prominent feature of the novel is the effects of the Great Purge on society. Fear and
brutality reigned while logic and decency disappeared. Beginning with fear, this emotion can be
seen throughout the novel. Starting at the beginning of the novel, fear is shown when the police
come to arrest Rubashov. Be quiet, shouted Vassilij, Here is Authority. The woman became quiet
at once (7)...The house was silent after the one shrill woman s cry, but they had the feeling that
all inhabitants were awake in their beds, holding their breath (8). When the people in the house
realized the police were there, they became very quiet and listened. As people were taken away
during the purges, people stayed quiet to avoid becoming involved. This fear is also seen when
Richard and Rubashov see a bodyguard of the regime while meeting. Richard is clearly afraid
and stammers heavily (39). Another important instance of fear was when Michael Bogrov is
being led away for execution he shouted for help, screams, whimpers, and hangs like a doll
(144). Another example of fear is Hare lip. While in the third hearing with Rubashov and
Gletkin, Hare lip had a hunted gaze, trembling upper lip, a white face, and a sunken head he
quivered as though struck by a whip and in his eyes appeared the flickering of naked animal
terror (200 211). He clearly was terrified and was only offering this testimony due to a desire to
stay alive. The book mentioned that Hare lip looked utterly destroyed the

My Experience Of A Heartwarming Experience At A Bible Camp
I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a
counselor. It was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time
like I always did! One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the
week. Vivian did not wantto do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a
buddy at all times. Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first
three days she had visited the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she
had a concussion. Needless to say, she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week.
After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home

night before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was
home sick. I suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a
letter, drew pictures, and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of
mine that helped her feel better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me
and tell me stories about things she did back home. This made her less home sick and let her go to
sleep that night without any problems. After this night her week at camp turned around and she
only had a few small speed bumps along the way.

Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD)
Paranoid personality disorder (PPD) is among a collection of disorders known as Cluster A
personality disorders that include problems with unusual or eccentric behavior. Individuals with this

Examples Of Integrity In Goodnight And Goodluck
After watching the movie Goodnight and Goodluck directed by George Clooney I think the most
important aspect for present day communicators to carry into their work is integrity. I think
integrity is important because it is a value that shows your character and personality. During the
movie Murrow developed his character by consistently being honest with others and himself.
Edward Murrow shows integrity quite often. For example, when McCathy starts making false
accusations, Murrow stands up in front of the camera and defends himself by stating facts to prove
his innocence. McCarthy claimed that Murrow had ties to communism saying that he was on the
soviet pay role in 1932 and that he is a card carrying member for the international industrial

Throughout this essay I will explore to what extent Inigo Jones s design for the Queens House
was inspired by the works of Palladio and Palladian architecture and 15 16th century European
architectural precedents, while also exploring the role the building played on the development of
Neoclassical architecture on a wider scale. The Queens House represents the stylistic point of
origin for the great imposing buildings surrounding Greenwich but also for Neo Classical

The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always
well looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe
environment of the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist
Kate Sheridan from Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from
the food change and from natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so
if anything is wrong with the animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal
the animal. Several species have been protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel
Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered
species who were protected by zoological parks; the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most
endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and
Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action by working on four of the Red
Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and

The Unexamined Life Of Socrates
Sanha Ryoo PHIL 127 Paper 1 02 October 2014 The Unexamined Life Through several dialogues
Plato gives readers accounts of Socrates interactions with other Athenians. While some may think
of him as a teacher of sorts, Socrates is adamant in rejecting any such claim (Plato, Apology 33a
b). He insists that he is not a teacher because he is not transferring any knowledge from himself
to others, but rather assisting those he interacts with in reaching the truth. This assistance is the
reason Socrates walks around Athens, engaging in conversation with anyone that he can
convince to converse with him. An assertion he makes at his trial in Plato s Apology is at the
center of what drives Socrates in his abnormal ways, the unexamined life is not worth living for a
human being (38a). Socrates, through aporia, looks to lead an examined life to perfect his soul
and live as the best person he can be. This paper looks to examine the unexamined life and the
implications rooted in living a life like Socrates . First, it is important to analyze what examination
entails exactly, because one must understand what something is before inspecting the why .
Jumping to the why before knowing exactly what the thing one is examining is would be
irresponsible. How can one make a judgment about something without properly comprehending
what it is? In Plato s dialogues, Socrates questions the person he is in dialogue with to show that
the person does not actually have the knowledge he claims to

How To End Racism In America
Together racism disappears
We Americans should know by now what racism means from the news or from watching how
colored skin people get bullied more than white people. Did you know that in 1870, 4.8 million
African Americans lived in the United States and in 2007, there were 40.7 million African
Americans that lived in the United States. In this essay, I will be explaining the events that happen
due to racism and how we can stop racism. Three actions we can take to end the violence are to
stop black churches getting burned down, making all races equal, and stopping racist comments.
In this paragraph, you will learn about one important event that happened in the south and that has
affected black America . Six black churches were burned down in the south in just a ten day time
period. People think that the group of people burning the churches down is a supremacist group
called the KKK. A supremacist group is a group where white people think that they are better than
all of the other races usually towards black people. Since the six black churches got burned down in
the south, people are starting to think that whoever is targeting the churches are targeting black
churchgoers. But why would white supremacist group(s) be targeting black churchgoers when they

Marvin Gaye s Style of Music:
Marvin Gaye was a musical genius and inspiration to individuals like myself. According to the

Characteristics that sets Marvin Gaye Apart from Popular Recordings:
What set Mr. Gaye apart from other popular recordings of the time was that his controversial
style pays off big with his song What s Going On. Mr. Gaye was inspired by the politics and

Characterization in Sister Carrie Essay
Characterization in Sister Carrie
The theme of unrequited love and unfulfilled ambitions, against a backdrop of a nation being
transformed by industrialism and capitalism, provides the substance of Theodore Dreiser s Sister
Carrie. During the late 19th Century we encounter three main characters who demonstrate this
underlying motif: Carrie Meeber, Charles H. Drouet, and George W. Hurstwood. Carrie will
fulfill many of her desires for riches and success, but her insatiable appetite will leave her feeling
dissatisfied at the end of the novel and all alone. With respect to the two men who most covet her
affections, Charles Drouet and George Hurstwood we have a study in contrasts. About the only thing
Drouet and Hurstwood have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Eby (2) notes, Carrie is not one to submit to a solemn round of industry while postponing
gratification. Appropriately, Carrie s first lover is a drummer or traveling salesman who goes on
the road to market his company s wares.
Neither Carrie nor Drouet produce anything. Carrie uses her natural beauty and charms to consume
the goods Drouet s money provides, but Drouet only makes his money from moving goods not
producing them. As much as neither Carrie nor Drouet produce anything tangible, they are both
necessary kinds of people in the new industrial nation. Eby (2) confirms this reasoning, Drouet
produces nothing tangible to sell, but the efforts of thousands like him kept goods moving to their
ultimate destination, consumers. Potential buyers like Carrie with easily manipulible desires are
also essential: without desire, the consumer economy stalls.
Drouet is written like a character who might become someone like Willy Loman should he ever
settle down and marry and raise children. This is because he is young and good looking and can
use his charms to woo consumers to purchase his products. Nevertheless, Drouet does not accept
the realities of his situation. Like his clothes and manners, if he does not like reality he tries to
modify it through a variety of means, from running away and denial to the pursuit of superficial
pleasures as a means of escape.

Women enjoyed the right to divorce, not the men. And if marriage ended in a divorce, the dowry

Social structure among the Norse wasn t what one could call equal for all. Though class
distinctions were not absolute and fixed, they did separate the masses from those most likely to

A Brief Note On Burns And Its Effects On Victims
Definition and pathogenesis Burns are regarded as one of the most hazardous occupational and
house hold risks. They cause a catastrophic influence and impact on victims. The impact and
effects of burns ranges from mild to severe, while as the primary influence and effects of burns,
occur in terms such as suffering, disability, financial loss and death of victims. According to the
Royal children s Hospital (2016), minor burns are the most sustained types of burns and in most
instances, they occur as a result of household activities. Occupational and work related burns
account for all serious burns witnessed within a local healthcare district. Cleland (2012) states
that people of all ages and occupations are susceptible to burns. However, women and children
are most susceptible to minor burns. Minor burns are also described as superficial or first degree
burns. They damage the superficial lay of the skin making the burnt area turn red and significantly
painful. Blisters are likely to occur in case first aid services are not adequately or timely offered.
They are mainly brought about by contact with hot fluids, objects, corrosive chemicals, exposure to
scotching sun rays, steam and hot furnace surfaces. The causes of burns and scalds are varied and
ranges from hold fluids, chemical burns, electrical burns, excessive scotch from the sun, and
contact with hot surfaces. In most instances, minor burns are mild and do not require medical

In the case of an obligatio faciendi, positive malperformance occurs when the debtor delivers an
improper or incorrect performance. Example you have paid for a certain DVD machine and on
receiving it, it is not functioning as was promised.
4. Repudiation
It differs from making performance impossible. Repudiation creates relative certainty that eventual
performance will be absent or defective, (we are almost sure that performance will be absent), while
making performance impossible creates absolute certainty that this will happen. In other words
repudiation means turning one`s back on an agreement.
5. Prevention of performance (rendering performance impossible).
Making performance impossible. It s the conduct by either a creditor or a debtor which makes
the delivery of his own or the other party`s performance impossible. This can happen at any time
before performance takes place, even after the date when performance has become due. Because it

As the games progress and as properties are rapidly snapped up, McPhee juxtaposes the well known sites on the board Atlantic Avenue, Park Place with actual visits to their crumbling locations. Workers in an organization utilize language to express and empathize with others opinions, maintain communication, take care of issues, learn and develop, decide, and monitor records. As the globalization of business has made corporations and organizations with outposts throughout the world, language boundaries have developed into many different issues that would have gone unnoticed on account of domestic organizations, where representatives impart in their primary language. Given this globalized business environment, it is crucial for multinational corporations to devise a primarily spoken language. Throughout most of the world, that primary language used in companies and business is English. English is a lingua franca, or a common or bridge language as it is often called. Bridge languages are primarily spoken languages across the world: English, Chinese Mandarin, German, etc. English is the most prominent language spoken, having 1.5 billion speakers across the world according to Statista, and Mandarin, the secondary language, has a measly 1.1 billion. This major difference in speakers has developed the use of English as a major language in trade. In 1948 1982, the relationship between the Israelis and the Arabs escalated leading to a civil war. From 1982 and onwards the tensions have simmered as both side remember the egregious aftermath. • 10. Door Openers What is the Difference Between Belt, Screw and Chain Drive Garage Door Openers Are you considering automating your garage door in Dallas? There are three standard types of garage door openers to consider. These are: 1. Chain drive garage door openers As the name suggests, these openers employ the use of a chain in the opening mechanism of the door. The chain attaches to the metal trolley in a similar way as a chain on a bicycle. Later models of the chain driven doors get their power from DC motors. 2. Belt driven openers These models are similar in operation to the chain driven models. However, a reinforced belt replaces the chain. This belt pulls and pushes the trolley. They are also one of the most dependable models available. The main disadvantage of using chain driven openers is that they produce a lot of noise during the operation of the door especially if the garage is attached to the rest of the house. Later versions that use DC motors incorporate soft start and stop technology. This has made them much quieter than the older versions. 3. Screw driven openers These openers require the least amount of maintenance as they have few moving parts. They also provide fairly quiet operation as they feature tracks lined with plastic to reduce the noise. They are, however, not suitable for areas that experience large variations in temperature between summer and winter. They tend to run into a lot of trouble when installed in these regions. He asserts that society can also intervene when the choice of the individual is to irrevocably surrender their libertyeven when said action harms only themselves This exception to the harm principle emphasizes its purpose, the preservation of liberty which he deems to be a necessary condition for the cultivation of progress in society. The son of the king informs him that the state to the north is readying their army for an invasion to exterminate the kingdom s people. If the king s power is unlimited and the advocate of any opinion which he dislikes can be punished merely because he dislikes it, the courtier will naturally hesitate in expressing what he knows for fear he will not be believed and face execution for his insult upon the royal family. If faced with a sufficient probability of death from informing the king and from the invading army from the south, the courtier would choose, if he were to obey Hobbes s right of nature, to flee the kingdom without providing any warning. In an atmosphere of liberty, as would exist if the king had bound been bound by the harm principle, the courtier may declare what he has heard. They had cannons to bring down the Aztec homes and temples, they had swords that easily cut through Aztec spears, but what I think gave the Spaniards such a great advantage was the armor they wore and the horses they rode on. The reason being that wearing armor would make killing the Spaniards that much harder and being mounted on a horse only made them more intimidating in the eyes of the Aztecs as well as giving them the fighting advantage. The second reason that the Aztecs fell to the Spaniards is just as important as the first and it s the Indian tribes that assisted the Spaniards in finding and defeating the Aztecs. Beginning with fear, this emotion can be seen throughout the novel. Starting at the beginning of the novel, fear is shown when the police come to arrest Rubashov. Be quiet, shouted Vassilij, Here is Authority. The woman became quiet at once (7)...The house was silent after the one shrill woman s cry, but they had the feeling that all inhabitants were awake in their beds, holding their breath (8). When the people in the house realized the police were there, they became very quiet and listened. As people were taken away during the purges, people stayed quiet to avoid becoming involved. This fear is also seen when Richard and Rubashov see a bodyguard of the regime while meeting. Richard is clearly afraid and stammers heavily (39). Another important instance of fear was when Michael Bogrov is being led away for execution he shouted for help, screams, whimpers, and hangs like a doll (144). Another example of fear is Hare lip. While in the third hearing with Rubashov and Gletkin, Hare lip had a hunted gaze, trembling upper lip, a white face, and a sunken head he quivered as though struck by a whip and in his eyes appeared the flickering of naked animal terror (200 211). He says that it is not for a lack of love that her leaves her, but for a lack of money and provision for their sons. A man s friends leave him stone cold if he becomes poor, (18) Jason says referring to what will happen if he does not marry the princess and inherit more money to share with his children. Medea takes this a great sign of disrespect and mourns the loss of Jason in her live before eagerly planning his demise. After this Medea proves time and time again that she does not have a clear image of their relationship, is mentally unstable, and suffers no for repercussions for her actions.... The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always well looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe environment of the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist Kate Sheridan from Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from the food change and from natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so if anything is wrong with the animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal the animal. Several species have been protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered species who were protected by zoological parks; the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action by working on four of the Red Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and U.S Fish and Wildlife Service declared that the breed was extinct but then in 1987 the Red Wolf was revived . The Hopis regard themselves as the first inhabitants of America. Their village of Oraibi is indisputably the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the United States. While Hopi oral history traces their origin to a Creation and Emergence from previous worlds, scientists place them in their present location for the last thousand years, perhaps longer (Waters, 1963). Archaeologists definitively place the Hopis on the Black Mesa of the Colorado Plateau by 1350. • 34. The Unexamined Life Of Socrates Sanha Ryoo PHIL 127 Paper 1 02 October 2014 The Unexamined Life Through several dialogues Plato gives readers accounts of Socrates interactions with other Athenians. While some may think of him as a teacher of sorts, Socrates is adamant in rejecting any such claim (Plato, Apology 33a b). He insists that he is not a teacher because he is not transferring any knowledge from himself to others, but rather assisting those he interacts with in reaching the truth. This assistance is the reason Socrates walks around Athens, engaging in conversation with anyone that he can convince to converse with him. An assertion he makes at his trial in Plato s Apology is at the center of what drives Socrates in his abnormal ways, the unexamined life is not worth living for a human being (38a). Socrates, through aporia, looks to lead an examined life to perfect his soul and live as the best person he can be. This paper looks to examine the unexamined life and the implications rooted in living a life like Socrates . First, it is important to analyze what examination entails exactly, because one must understand what something is before inspecting the why . Jumping to the why before knowing exactly what the thing one is examining is would be irresponsible. How can one make a judgment about something without properly comprehending what it is? In Plato s dialogues, Socrates questions the person he is in dialogue with to show that the person does not actually have the knowledge he claims to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this essay, I will be explaining the events that happen due to racism and how we can stop racism. Three actions we can take to end the violence are to stop black churches getting burned down, making all races equal, and stopping racist comments. In this paragraph, you will learn about one important event that happened in the south and that has affected black America . Six black churches were burned down in the south in just a ten day time period. People think that the group of people burning the churches down is a supremacist group called the KKK. A supremacist group is a group where white people think that they are better than all of the other races usually towards black people. Since the six black churches got burned down in the south, people are starting to think that whoever is targeting the churches are targeting black churchgoers. • 38. Characterization in Sister Carrie Essay Characterization in Sister Carrie The theme of unrequited love and unfulfilled ambitions, against a backdrop of a nation being transformed by industrialism and capitalism, provides the substance of Theodore Dreiser s Sister Carrie. During the late 19th Century we encounter three main characters who demonstrate this underlying motif: Carrie Meeber, Charles H. Drouet, and George W. Hurstwood. Carrie will fulfill many of her desires for riches and success, but her insatiable appetite will leave her feeling dissatisfied at the end of the novel and all alone. With respect to the two men who most covet her affections, Charles Drouet and George Hurstwood we have a study in contrasts. About the only thing Drouet and Hurstwood have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Eby (2) notes, Carrie is not one to submit to a solemn round of industry while postponing gratification. Appropriately, Carrie s first lover is a drummer or traveling salesman who goes on the road to market his company s wares. Neither Carrie nor Drouet produce anything. Carrie uses her natural beauty and charms to consume the goods Drouet s money provides, but Drouet only makes his money from moving goods not producing them. As much as neither Carrie nor Drouet produce anything tangible, they are both necessary kinds of people in the new industrial nation. Eby (2) confirms this reasoning, Drouet produces nothing tangible to sell, but the efforts of thousands like him kept goods moving to their ultimate destination, consumers. Potential buyers like Carrie with easily manipulible desires are also essential: without desire, the consumer economy stalls. Drouet is written like a character who might become someone like Willy Loman should he ever settle down and marry and raise children. This is because he is young and good looking and can use his charms to woo consumers to purchase his products. Nevertheless, Drouet does not accept the realities of his situation. Like his clothes and manners, if he does not like reality he tries to modify it through a variety of means, from running away and denial to the pursuit of superficial pleasures as a means of escape. ... Social structure among the Norse wasn t what one could call equal for all. Though class distinctions were not absolute and fixed, they did separate the masses from those most likely to succeed. Slaves, or thralls, occupied the lowest rung of the social ladder, although prisoners of war, bankrupts, and sons and daughters of slaves also inhabited this class, though they may not have started there. They performed the most manual tasks on their owners farms and could be bought and sold like any piece of property. Depending on the master, a slave s life was not always grim, and it was even possible for a slave to work his or her way to freedom. Next in line were the Karls, or free peasants, who hired out their services to landowners. Also in this class were artisans, peddlers, fishermen, shipwrights, small time merchants, and mercenary soldiers who sold their services to whichever leaders seemed the most likely to lead them to fame and fortune. Repudiation creates relative certainty that eventual performance will be absent or defective, (we are almost sure that performance will be absent), while making performance impossible creates absolute certainty that this will happen. In other words repudiation means turning one`s back on an agreement. 5. Prevention of performance (rendering performance impossible). Making performance impossible.
