The Problem Of Complacency Is Really One Of The Major...
Complacency is definitely one of the major reasons realistic training has suffered over the last
few years. Multiple deployments, sometimes to the same area of operations, has fostered a laid
back approach to unit s road to war training. Even rotations to the Joint Readiness Training Center
(JRTC) incorporated similar scenarios that don t require too much complex thinking on behalf of
the unit. In the last year JRTC has started focusing more on the DATE scenario in preparation for
future conflicts. Units need to develop a training program to fill the gap between RL progression
and deployments or CTC rotations.
I think you bring up some good points regarding real life experience being a factor in realistic
training. As we get closer to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Realistic training should start by researching the enemy we will be facing. Once the capabilities of
your enemy has been defined, planning on how to successfully defeat their technology can be
accomplished. Once a plan is developed units can begin conducting collective training starting with
the classroom and eventually building up to simulators and finally operations in the aircraft. Most
Divisions usually conduct a culminating training event every year, communicating your training
objectives to the ground unit can help to build your unit s proficiency.
Week 5 Discussion Board: Tactics Discuss the importance of realistic tactics training
In the Army we say train as you fight , this concept has been a building block for all soldiers to
follow since basic training. In some units, this concept has been ignored as multiple deployments to
the same theater has brought about a sense of complacency in the ranks. As the focus of the Army
is shifting towards a hybrid threat and we will inevitably be facing a more complex skilled enemy
with far better equipment, our approach to training needs to be re thought.
Leaders at all levels have the responsibility to ensure their subordinates are as prepared as they can
be going into a deployment. An organized training plan consisting of some individual tasks building
up to mission tasks at all echelon

Essay on The Debate Over Birds and Feathered Dinosaurs
The Debate Over Birds and Feathered Dinosaurs Because dinosaurs are animals that lived
millions of years ago, we are entirely dependent on the fossils that they have left behind for any
understanding that we hope to gain. As any paleontologist will tell you, fossil hunting is difficult.
There are no certainties, no guarantees. A certain amount of luck is as valuable as any scientific
knowledge. Every so often a discovery is made that attempts to shake up pre conceived notions of
how the dinosaurs actually lived or how they came to be. On June 22, 2000, in Oregon, scientists
announced the discovery of the oldest known animal to have feathers. Though no records indicate
how the age of the animal was determined, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, those that actually subscribe to the feathered Longisquama theory are a decided
minority in the paleontological community. The detractors of Nonavian Feathers in a Late
Triassic Archosaur believe that the feather like impressions in the fossil are not even feathers at
all. Based on the angle and shape of the imprints, many paleontologists believe that they were
left by highly modified scales , or possibly even ferns that had fallen on the animal s body after
death.4 Disregarding the feathers of Longisquama, and therefore disregarding its link to
Archaeopteryx, these scientists still fully support the dinosaur bird link. As mentioned before,
the extreme majority of paleontologists still subscribe to this idea. A recent discovery in the
western region of China seems to clarify the link between dinosaurs and birds. Living at roughly
the same time as Archaeopteryx, Sinovenator changii is very closely related to the bird yet is
classified as a dinosaur.5 This discovery is widely regarded as very good evidence that dinosaurs
and birds share evolutionary traits, and disputes the assertion that they are unrelated; as made by
those that support the feathered Longisquama findings. As if this finding wasn t enough, other
feathered dinosaurs have been discovered in the same region of China. Protarchaeopteryx and
Caudipteryx zoui lived about 125 and 145 million years

Propaganda During The Great War
The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U boats, and trench warfare, but it was a war of
propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and
shape the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not just require innovative
weapons, but also innovative and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British, Germans and
United States governments specifically, invested a lot of resources into propaganda as a way to
increase recruitment numbers, build international support, and instill a sense of confidence in
what was the Great War. Countries had to not just focus their efforts on getting people from their
own country to support them, but also neutral countries, as well as having to focus on the
enemies by use of atrocity propaganda. In turn, this led to governments tampering with the
human will, and even using deceit, all in an effort to help solidify their sides victory. In turn,
propaganda played a vital role in the Great War and additionally created an everlasting influence
on both war and media in the world today. Unlike previous wars, this war required not just
millions of men to serve their own countries, but it required the support of all civilians to help play
a role in the war efforts. M.L Saunders stated During the war, sections of the community which has
previously remained uninvolved in the exigencies of national survival had found themselves
directly affected by events at the front line. Life changed for

An Exploration through Shojo and Shonen Manga through...
An Exploration of ShЕЌjo and ShЕЌnen Manga through Sailor Moon and Black Cat
Genres are one of the first things readers look at to help determine whether or not a book should be
read. Although there are many similarities between the genres shounen (manga intended for males)
and shoujo (manga intended for females) that make a manga seem like it could be either genre,
there are differences that are meant to distinguish between their respective audiences. As a more
specific example, the shared themes of fighting, love, and superhuman powers as well as the
character in Black Cat and Sailor Moon suggest a similar genre and audience; however, upon closer

Looking at a fight scene from Black Cat, a battle with the main character (Train Heartnet) starts
in chapter 49 and continues through chapter 51. Throughout these chapters, Train is fighting his
enemy almost the entire time (there are moments when it cuts to his companions for a few
pages). The battle finally concludes on page 16 in chapter 51 when Train knocks out his enemy
with a strike to the face. With the finishing blow, his foe spits out a mouthful of blood and can be
seen bleeding a few panels later. There is no attempt to hide any blood or gore in Black Cat,
whereas in Sailor Moon the enemy simply melts away and blood is avoided. Whether or not this
is intended, the effect is clear: Black Cat attracts viewers who like to see violence without any
censorship and Sailor Moon appeals to people who are not as into the depictions of fighting.
The difference in length of battle also plays a role in highlighting the scene. The couple pages of
fighting in Sailor Moon are dwarfed by the multiple chapters Black Cat uses to play out a fight.
This emphasizes the point that one manga is trying to appeal to audiences wanting to see more
combat and the other is for readers who prefer less violence. There are also less theatrical acts in
Black Cat; Train and his enemy do not shout out their moves before they attack unlike Sailor
Moon. This further accentuates how Black Cat readers are used to seeing fighting scenes and do
not need to have fights explained, where Sailor Moon

My Childhood and Youth Studies at Coventry University
I am currently studying my first year of Childhood and Youth Studies at Coventry University, and
hope to progress and study a PGCE to qualify to become a primary school teacher.
I enjoy working with children and watching them improve over time; it gives me a great feeling
knowing that I helped them improve. I have previously undertaken a placement at Coundon Court
Early Years nursery, with children aged from six months to five years, I worked with the children
aged three to five. From my placement I gained many skills such as patience, a good sense of
humour and enthusiasm. I feel that patience is necessary as working with young children can be
challenging, and also because all children have their own learning pace. For example, the children
aged four and five had written their name starting from right to left. On the other hand the
children below this age group included the correct letters that appeared in the name, but all in the
incorrect order. Teachers need to be aware of each child s individual needs and work to help them
reach full potential within their capabilities. Patience is also necessary as children are not always
going to be familiar with what is being taught to them, I believe that teachers always need to be
willing to see things from other people s perspectives too.
The difficulties I experienced with learning as a young child have given me empathy for others
when they go through similar issues. A teacher that only recently understood something remembers

was an honor to fight for Duke William s right to be crowned King in the battle of Hastings on
the 14th of October 1066. The battle of Hastings was one of the most memorable and successful
battles that I have ever participated in as a Norman soldier. The Duke of Normandy, William,
prepared for the battle against the King of England, Harold, months in advance. It all started after
the death of King Edward, the Confessor died the 5th of January 1066 without an official heir to
the throne (BBC, 2011). The day after King Edwards death, Harold claimed the throne to be King

Us soldiers were never given the length in time we were going to be at this camp. Our time here
was spent building parts of wooden castles that we were to take with us to the battle field. The
smell of freshly cut wood once again made me and the other soldiers anxious to go into battle.
While building and preparing ourselves for battle, some of us soldiers spoke of the land that
Duke William had promised us when we conquered England. At one point it felt like I was never
going to receive that land as for the days kept going by and no news of moving out had been
spoken of. As the days went on, I noticed they started to become cooler. Finally late September,
Duke Williams received the news that Harald Hardrada and Tostig launched their invasion of
Northumbria. Our day to invasion of the south was coming fast. It was just a few days after
Duke Williams received the great news that our fleet of ships set sail. We all worked hard to
load the ships with weapons, armor, pre built wooden castles, food and drinks. The smell of the
sea air never smelt any better than it did on that day. Battle was coming near and the promised
land was just out of reach for me and the other soldiers. The sun was just about rising when our
fleet landed in southern England near Hastings and it never looked anymore beautiful then it did on
that day. William at once started commanding orders to us soldiers. He ordered

Mission Work as a Group
Social groups describe who we are as individuals. Every person is involved in multiple social
groups whether they realize it or not. Some social groups can be determined by a broad
spectrum or a narrow spectrum. Social groups can be spread out throughout different regions as
well as an entire nation as a whole. Every person who attends North Carolina State University is
part of the same social group. That social group can be broken down into many smaller groups,
such as the individual colleges in the University. Within those smaller groups of the different
colleges, the groups can even be divided into smaller groups by major, and then again by
concentration. Every person belongs to dozens of social groups without even realizing.
The social group that has played a huge role in my life is the one of people who has participated in
mission work. Mission work is something that has been very vital in my life ever since I was a
little girl in middle school. I do not know what my life would be today without being part of
groups that did service projects, and volunteer work as well as on many occasions spreading the
knowledge of Christianity. I have been a part of two groups in particular that have truly changed
the way I look at life and how I view other people. Tungsten Baptist Church and First Baptist Youth
Group have both been very influential on life and I cannot imagine my life without these. I started
going to Tungsten Baptist Church when I was just a baby

Florence Nightingale Contributions
Florence Nightingale was born May 12th, 1820 named after Florence, Italy, where she was born.
At just one year old Florence moved to England because her father owned Lea Hurst, a country
house, in Derbyshire and was extremely wealthy. When Florence was five years old, her mother
Fanny convinced her husband to move to Emely Park where the Nightingales would have more
entertainment. Although this made Fanny happy, Florence was miserable with the consistent
guests and chatter. She preferred to be alone with her thoughts. Growing up she was only taught
the things a good wife and mother would need to know, including; music, dance, needlework and
art lessons. In the 1800s women weren t expected to receive an education based on the core
subjects, they learned things that would help them become the best care taker they could be. Since
Florence was considered upper class, it was highly unlikely for her to ever have a job. But as
Florence grew older she became very neat and organized. She enjoyed numbers and placing data
into tables. At the age of eight she taught herself French and always did the right thing because she
believed that s what god wanted. Once Florence turned twelve her father, William Nightingale
insisted on her and Parthenope, her older sister, to be well educated. William taught his two
daughters the following languages; Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and German. Then he had them
learn all about history, philosophy, ethics, composition, the bible, and mathematics.

Repercussions Of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership

Repercussions of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership
William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar highlights how weak leaders affect society s
condition. Shakespeare displays this through the actions of multiple characters, one of whom is
Julius Caesar, a Roman general and senator greatly favored by the people. Caesar enters the play
by ignoring a soothsayer s omen to beware the ides of March, an action that is indicative of his
belief in his personal invulnerability. Caesar s continuous disregard of warnings of his death
manifests into his ultimate demise. Shakespeare extrapolates Caesar s arrogance, physical
weakness, and unfortunate fate to elucidate how rulers with similar traits would eventually fail and
foment disarray between their people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Caesar s arrogance brings victories to Rome, it also causes him to disregard obvious
warnings. This is shown when Calpurnia begs him not to go to the meeting, and he initially
agrees to stay home only For thy humor, (A2S2L59), not because he interprets his wife s dream
as a threat to his well being. In fact he says, Danger knows full well/ That Caesar is more
dangerous than he (A2S2L46 47) and ends up going to the meeting anyway. On the contrary, his
modesty from refusing to accept the crown three times makes him likable and allows Antony to
persuade the citizens to seek revenge against Cassius and Brutus. Although Caesar is arrogant at

Prohibition, A film by Ken Burns Part 2
Point 1 Low consensus on an issue (or a law like Prohibition) means enforcement is going to be
difficult. To enforce an unpopular law significant resources need to be committed to the
enforcement effort (e.g., regulation surveillance, violation arrests, court enforcement, etc.) How did
this play itself out in the case of Alcohol Prohibition?
It might be said regarding prohibition that much of America was in favor of drunks drinking less,
but still wanted to drink freely themselves because they personally were responsible drinkers. Also,
that America was divided politically, religiously, and culturally, along rural (native) and urban

The sums of money being exchanged during the dry era proved a corrupting influence in both the
federal Bureau of Prohibition and at the state and local level. Police officers and Prohibition agents
alike were frequently tempted by bribes or the lucrative opportunity to go into bootlegging
themselves. Many stayed honest, but enough succumbed to the temptation that the stereotype of the
corrupt Prohibition agent or local cop undermined public trust in law enforcement for the duration
of the era. http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/prohibition/unintended consequences/
Enforcement of the Volstead Act became unpractical as the scope of the problem overwhelmed
existing law enforcement resources and there were no concerted efforts to fund law enforcement to
the level where the problem could be met with an appropriate response.
Point 2 Illegalizing a common behavior (or commodity) that a large portion of the population feels
should be their own business not only creates instant lawbreakers of people who are not
fundamentally criminal but also creates the conditions for the development of an underground
black market and the organized crime syndicates associated with that black market . Discuss how

Diet And The Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean diet, which has been coined, The world s healthiest diet, has risen in
popularity over the last decade. The diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains,
olive oil and the occasional red wine, has been claimed to offer abundant health benefits including
reducing risk for major chronic illnesses, neurodegenerative diseases, some types of cancer, and
cardiovascular disease. Most recently, it has been hypothesized that this diet may be associated
with health related quality of life (HRQL). Bonaccio, et.al. (2013) conducted a sample study to
discover correlations between adherence to a Mediterranean diet and HRQL and the mechanisms
behind such findings. The Mediterranean diet (MD) refers to a lifestyle in which individuals
primarily consume foods traditional to the countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. Plants
foods, cereals, legumes, and fish make up the abundance of the diet, while olive oil is the main
source of fat and red wine is encouraged in moderation. The majority of the food consumed on the
MD is high in dietary fiber, antioxidants, polyphenols, and monounsaturated and polyunsaturated
fatty acids, which presumably contribute to the copious health benefits attributed to the diet
(Bonaccio, et.al., 2013). Bonaccio, et.al. (2013) define health related quality of life (HRQL) as, An

This heavy burden made the business impossible to sustain in the long run. High cost of internal
supplies GM s decline can also be concluded by the failure of cost cut. As sales decline, variable
costs, manufacturing costs and material purchases should also be reduced. However, since GM
has significant fixed costs, for instance the pensions and healthcare costs, it has been difficult to
do costs cut in a successful way. As a result, the total costs of GM remain much higher than the
one of its competitors. Wrong evaluation of customer needs Since 1980, GM has failed to
respond to customer preference and needs. This resulted in wrong focus on vehicle types in the
U.S. market as customers preferred smaller, cheaper and more efficient cars rather than the
bigger vehicle that GM had to offer. However, GM s profit mainly relies on the sale of SUVs and
trucks, which is no more popular and this led to the decline of sales and revenues. In addition,
GM s cars are less fuel efficient compared to its competitors such as Toyota and Honda. This
resulted in a decrease of GM sales in Asian and American markets. Furthermore, there is little
differentiation among the vehicles produced, so the various customer needs cannot be satisfied and
it is more likely for customers to switch to other brands that have better design. 4 External Factors

The Importance Of Ergogenic Aids
Ergogenic aids are widely used by athletes to help maximize training and improve overall
performance. Many companies that sell ergogenic aids often target athletes with claims of
improving strength, power, aerobic endurance, and reduced recovery time. However most
ergogenic aids fall short on delivering these claims. With so much misinformation, it is important
that athletes only take ergogenic supplements that have been supported by scientific literature that
has proved they improve exercise and performance. This report will profile the ergogenic aids of

The first being eiscsapentaenoic acids (EPAs), which are associated with a reduction in LDL
cholesterol, depression, and production in inflammation (Swanson, Block, Mousa, 2012). Another
type of fatty acid in Omega 3 is docosahexaenoic acids (DHAs), which are associated with
increased production of healthy HDL cholesterol, brain function, and a decrease in triglycerides
(Swanson, Block, Mousa, 2012). The third essential fatty acid from Omega 3 is alpha linolenic
acids (ALAs), however only 5 10 percent of ALAs can be converted into functional forms
(Swanson, Block, Mousa, 2012). Improving the ratio of Omega 6 to omega 3 ratios, thus
increasing the presences of DHA and EPA in the body, can help athletes improve performance by
increasing gains in lean muscle growth, limit rate of muscle loss, and reduce muscle soreness by
regulating inflammation production. Increased intake of Omega 3 fatty acids, when combined with
anaerobic type of training, can lead to muscle growth. A study by Smith et al., 2011, evaluated the
effects of 8 weeks of supplementation of omega 3 on health subjects between the ages of 25 45
years old. They found that muscle protein synthesis was increased, along with protein
concentrations within the muscle cell. The study concluded that omega 3 supplementation has a
positive influence on anabolic properties in healthy young and middle age

Karl Marx and Marx Weber Essay
Karl Marx and Marx Weber The latter part of the nineteenth century was teeming with evolved
social and economical ideas. These views of the social structure of industrial society came about
through the development of ideals taken from past revolutions such as the Industrial Revolution
which steamed ahead paving the way for growing commerce, and widened the gap between the
classes. The development of a capitalist society was a very favorable goal in the eyes of the
bourgeoisie. But it had negative implications on was the working class and the proletarians who

Weber was elected to the Soviet where he met Kurt Eisner, its leader. Eisner was a creative and
innovative man who seemed to know what to do when no one else did. Weber considered him an
archetype of the charismatic leader and wrote his theories under his silhouette. Weber s primary
works include The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.
Weber can be said to agree with Marx concerning the alienation of the individual in Industrial
Society. For Weber this centers around the rationalization of the West due to the spread of
bureaucracy. Weber s belief was that Industrial Societies inevitable trend was to more and more
rationalization. Thus he was certain bureaucracies were the most efficient and most rational known
means of exercising authority over human beings. Offices are ranked in a hierarchical order and
their operations are characterized by impersonal rules also appointments are made according to
specialized qualifications. Therefore bureaucracies were thought to be reliable, precise and stable.
Bureaucracies were also based on legitimate authority, in that it functioned either on the basis of
procedures that could be altered or through a system of rules and regulations. But Weberian
bureaucracies faced the problem of control and enforcing powers

The Development And Production Of Golden Rice
Transgenesis is the genetic modification of the traits of an organism through the transfer of
genetic material from one species to another [8]. This method is when a gene is inserted into a
different specie so that the organism will attain the desired gene from the foreign (different)
specie. These organisms can express the genes from foreign species because the genetic code for
all organisms is similar which results in that particular DNAsequence that codes for the same
proteins and therefore the same trait and will be present in the newly inserted foreign organism
containing the desired gene.
Transgenesis occurs mainly because of human manipulation with the purpose of improving animals
and plants, modifying crops and also using these organisms as bio factories for human gain/ benefit.
The development and production of Golden Rice is a good example of transgenesis and the
method of Agrobacterium which was found due to the work of two European scientific who
discovered the addition of foreign genes of daffodil plant and soil bacterial would produce
provitamin A as a way to prevent vitamin A deficiencies all over the world, especially in
developing counties. The technique of using agrobacterium uses a naturally occurring soil bacteria
(Agrobacterium tumefaciens) that has the ability to change a plant s genes by invading it through
its roots or stem. The end result would be the production of beta carotene in the rice s endosperm
(makes up the majority of the rice grain

diagnosed with breast cancer. And 41,211 women and 465 men in the United States died from
breast cancer (U.S. Cancer Statistics Working Group, 2017). That volume of death could have
drastically been decreased if the clinicians, physicians, and oncologists utilized the Mammaprint. To

Warburg), the standard process in cancer metabolism (Gentric, 2017).
We need to consider the significant role of TME, especially CAFs and immune cells, which
profoundly participate in the metabolic interplay with neoplastic cells. CAFs and immune cells can
collectively adapt to the metabolic needs of cancer cells and thus participate in tumorigenesis.
Metabolic balance between all these players also promotes resistance to treatments, including not
only the conventional chemotherapy or radiotherapy but also the most recent and advanced
immunotherapies. Characterizing the mutual metabolic interplay between stromal, immune, and
neoplastic cells will likely provide a better understanding of tumor progression and treatment
resistance (Gentric, 2017).
Biomarkers and Genetic Polymorphism
Genome studies have identified about 80 or more genetic variants or single nucleotide
polymorphisms (SNPs) linked with breast cancer risk. Each variant only discreetly alters breast
cancer risk; however, together they add large risk data to current risk analysts. Therefore, when
added to traditional risk models, such as the Gail model, the Tyrer Cuzick model and/or the Breast
Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BSCC) model, a combination of genetic risk factors can be used
to increase risk arrangement. Risk arrangements with SNPs and other genetic alternates may also
be useful to aid in other decisions for breast cancer prevention and screening. For

Japanese Furniture and Interior Design and Shiro Kuramata
Shiro Kuramata (1934 91) was a Japanese designer best known for his furniture and interior
design, which gave the modern culture a creative voice. Many will identify with the chair he
designed for the Vitra Design Museum in 1987 titled, How High the Moon (fig 1). The piece
was inspired by an old jazz song and is part of the permanent collection at New York s Museum of
Modern Art. It is designed as a spacious armchair with woven threads of expanded metal; the
piece weighs little more than a leaf, and can withstand robust use . His other works include entire
storefronts designed for his friend Issey Miyake, for whom Kuramata created over 100 retail
interiors . One of these works is Bergdorf Goodman in New York (fig 2.) designed in 1984 ,... Show

development of industries; educating engineers, scientists, architects, and designers. This interest
in the culture of the Western world and the technological advancements all lead to a policy of

A Personal Experience With Mexican American Culture
This is a narrative of one Mexican American woman s experiences and her views on the importance
of passing down the cultural beliefs of her ancestors. In the section of the country in which I live
there is a large population within the community of Mexican American culture. Although I have
frequent contact with people of Mexican American heritage either through employment or
interaction out in the community, I have a limited understanding of their culture. For this
reason, I chose to learn more about the population of people I have frequent contact with and as
a professional work with as clients in the field of mental health counseling. The quest of finding
someone knowledgeable to discuss the population, their cultural background and some of their
necessities, as well as some past experiences, led me towards contacting a church. This took
calling two different churches before the person at the second church informed me that I needed
to speak with, Mrs. Socorro Garcia head of their Hispanic Ministries. Unfortunately, Mrs. Garcia
was on vacation when I called, but I was able to speak with her over the phone the following
week, setting up an interview in person at her office a couple days later. This was a relief because
I was becoming concerned about locating someone for a personal interview.

Types Of Simulation Software, And Investigating Software...
There are many types of simulation software, and investigating software component metadata for
all of them is infeasible. The scope of this research is restricted to one important class of
simulation software, the area of semi automated forces (SAF) systems. As Petty describes in [14],
semi automated forces (SAF) systems are computer software systems to generate and control
autonomous entities (such as tanks, soldiers, or aircraft) in a simulation using a combination of
behavior generation algorithms and human operator commands. The SAF entities exist in a
battlefield that is a simulated subset of the real world, so the physical events and phenomena on
the battlefield must be modeled. SAF controlled entities should obey the laws of physics. The
accuracy of the SAF physics models is important to the utility of the simulation. Exactly how
accurate those models must be, depends on how the system will be used. It is not uncommon
when the real time performance of the simulation is more important than high accuracy, to have
high fidelity models replaced with lower fidelity models based on look up tables. Figure 1.1 A
screenshot from ModSAF, a SAF system. An important example of semi automated forces is One
Semi Automated Forces (OneSAF). In [15] Parsons states that OneSAF is the U. S. Army s newest

legacy entity based simulations and to serve a range of applications including

The Between Religion And Music Essay
Music and religion are often intertwined, whether it be religious chanting or hymns used to
worship. However, in the case of Islam, the relationship between religion and music is more
strained, as Islamic law strictly forbids listening to music. However, there is a very strong religious
debate on what constitutes musicas diversion and what is acceptable to use in worship and religious
purposes. There are two concepts in Islamwhich are relevant to this conversation: sama and ghina.
The ghina is the simpler of the two, referring to music and performance associated with secular
art music; this is normally banished. Ghina is the only genre which is referred to as music . The
sama, on the other hand, is more complex. Sama, which literally means listening and thus, includes
the music being listened to (as well as dance as performed by mystic societies) is more complex.
The abundance of writings about the sama is chiefly due to the debate surrounding the legality of
music and dance from a legal, mystical, and religious perspective. Some elements of music have
been categorized as acceptable sama by religious authorities, including Koran cantillation, singing of
unaccompanied hymns, old Bedouin songs, and simple functional folk songs used to mark events
in a community or individual s life, thus considering them to be non music .
Since the beginning of Islam, there has been disagreement on what is to be considered sama, with
religious leaders stances ranging from

Dbq World War 1 Analysis
As stated by Roosevelt, We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Fear and paranoia were only one
force adding pressure to Europe before it burst into full out war. Anyone with extensive knowledge
on The Great War could probably give a list of copious causations, among those being nationalistic
tendencies, the alliance system, paranoia, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
World War Iwas primarily sparked through the assassination, with underlying tones of nationalism,
alliances, and paranoia fueling the fire. Nationalistic ego on part of Europeas a whole boiled
Ferdinand s assassination into action, pushing Europe into war. [Serbia] has done nothing to

Is There Air Temperature On The Moon
1. Describe and give examples of the various ways that heat can be transported in the atmosphere.
There are a variety of ways that heat can be transported in the atmosphere. The first method is
conduction. According to Ahrens (2015) conduction is referred to when heat shift from one
molecule to another (p. 33). A reoccurred example of conduction we see every day is when we
cook. You put a pan on the stove and turn on the stove top. The heatfrom the burner transfers to the
cold pan to heat the pan. The next method is convection. Ahrens (2015) stated, the transfer of heat
by the mass movement of a fluid (such as water and air) is called convection (p. 33). An example

According to Ahrens (2015), the earth s atmosphere contains nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2),
with small amounts of water vapor (H2O) and carbon dioxide (C¬2) (p. 4). Scientists believe
the process for formation of today s earth s atmosphere started billions of years ago. Ahrens
(2015) stated the earth s first atmosphere was comprised of hydrogen and helium as well as
methane and ammonia but is believed to have escaped into space due to the heat of the earth (p.
5). The assumption here is that a second atmosphere was created due to the excessive heat from
volcanoes and steam vents comprised of mainly water vapor and carbon dioxide with trace
amounts of nitrogen (Ahrens, 2015, p. 5). As the earth started to form its rivers, lakes, and oceans
the water began to absorb mass amounts of the carbon dioxide converting the atmosphere into a
nitrogen and oxygen rich atmosphere (Ahrens, 2015, p. 5).

While ample plant and animal samples can be easily obtained, for bacterial samples such as E.

needed for the DNA extraction process.
The extraction and purification of genomic DNA is essential as purified DNA serves as the
starting point for the amplification of a gene within the DNA via the Polymerase Chain Reaction
(PCR). First and foremost, cell lysis or cell disruption must be done to release the cell contents to
expose the DNA within the organism, detergents, basic or high salt solutions will then be used for
DNA purification by dissociating other biomolecules such as proteins and lipids. DNA will finally
be isolated through the use of organic reagents and centrifugation to facilitate collection of the

Prior to the experiment, materials to be used were sterilized to prevent contamination, which may
later on affect the results as contaminants may react with the solutions to be used for the later

utilized to sterilize the materials as exposure to high temperatures normally causes damage to
cytoplasmic membranes, breakdown of ribosomes, irreversible enzyme denaturation and DNA

defined as something that is not shown to be right or reasonable. The highest value within today

Tax On Gross Transportation Income Essay
Today, Section 883, Exclusions from Gross Income, is still the life rath that cruise companies cling

(a)(1) Ships Operated by certain foreign corporations.
Gross income derived by a corporation organized in a foreign country from the international

organized in the United States.
Since, Section 883 ultimately provides a safe harbor for cruise companies, Section 887 at least
captures some taxes with the Imposition of tax on gross Transportation income of Nonresident
Aliens and Foreign Corporations. This section of the Code provides, When there is a nonresident
individual or foreign corporation that has United States source gross transportation income for such

to grant an exemption to a corporation organized in the United States if the corporation is subject
to tax by the foreign country on a residence basis pursuant to provisions with the foreign law.

to why Ted Bundy did what he did. Of course we can t understand entirely why a psychopath serial
killer does things, but there are some theories that can lead us to believe why a serial killer
commits such violent acts. On February 15, 1978 Ted Bundy was arrested in Florida while he
was in prison he admitted to raping and killing more than 30 women and girls, he was suspected
of committing over 50 murders. He was convicted on July 31, 1979. Bundy s beetle bug was
where he trapped many of his victims handcuffing them, knocking them out with a crowbar and
then driving them off to a secluded location to meet their death. Many of Ted s victims remain
anonymous, but there are a few that reveal some stories that they experienced when coming in
contact with Ted. ANALYSIS As I watched Ted Bundy s final

The Emperor s New Clothes
Hans Christian Anderson displays insight into the vanity of man in the popular children s story,
The Emperor s New Clothes . Although born into the world as unique individuals, humans grow up
seeking approval, acceptance, and validation in the societal norms in which they live. Rather than
embracing their individuality, most live out their lives trying to fit into a mold that their culture
deems as successful. Most cultures view accomplishments, wealth, and positions of influence as
measures of success; thus, an individual s value is calculated by what he has externally and not
by who he is internally. Therefore, many people fail to develop their gifts, talents, and
personalities to live a fulfilling life for themselves, and they succumb to societal pressure to strive
for the materialistic, external trappings of success. This presents a struggle between self and
society. In The Emperor s New Clothes , Anderson uses clothingto symbolize this struggle wearing
society s accepted standards as clothes to mask our naked vulnerability to rejection. Anderson s
story centers on an emperor whose validation comes from his wardrobe. This fondness for
beautiful clothes leaves him vulnerable to a couple of swindlers who come to his town; these con
artists claimed to be weavers of an extraordinary cloth that is invisible to anyone who was unfit for
his office or unforgiveable stupid (The Emperor s New Clothes, para 2). The unique properties of
the cloth intrigue the

Mona Lisa Smile-Then and Now
By watching Mona Lisa Smile, I noticed that life as a young adult during the 1950 s was similar
and very different than how life is now in 2005. In the 1950 s birth control was unheard of and
people made it out to be against the law whereas today, birth control is the most widely used drug
to prevent pregnancy. Within a typical 1950 s household, the soul responsibility of a wife was
taking care of her husband and kids and the husband s role was working for his familyand keeping
them financially stable, which males still make the effort to do. Similarly, a wife s role today is
also providing financial stability and actually finding a job in the workforce. Moreover, women s
roles in the 1950 s differentiate the most from the roles in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As for men, they also got an education, got married , but entered the workforce. As a husband,
their responsibility was providing financial support and stability. Men were usually looked at as
the leader of the family. Also portrayed in Mona LisaSmile was the concepts of power and
resources. In the movie, a husband is often seen as the leader in the family. In knowing that, a
leader tends to take on more responsibility and exert more power or in other words be the
dominant figure in the family. As for the concept of resources, husbands work for their family
and bring in money providing financial support. Similarly, women in the movie also show the
concept of power in taking control of their life and playing their role in society by getting an
education and pursuing a family. The last concept portrayed in the movie, Mona Lisa Smile,
was the ideal family. The ideal family in the 1950 s was breadwinner homemaker family. This
ideal family was shown with a wife, husband, and children. The husband worked to provide for
his family and stay financially stable. This was shown in the movie right after Becky got married
and her husband was constantly working. As a result to Becky s husband constantly working she
begins to feel neglected and cheated, however she is pushed to remain faithful and to serve her
role as a wife and wait at home for him. This goes to show that the wife in the family stays home
taking care of her children, and doing her

Bhutan s Gross National Happiness
Bhutan s gross national happiness
If you don t know about Bhutan s government and their focus over the past forty years than you
should, you and people in your community might want to take a closer look at this small country
and how it is impacting the world. Bhutan is a small country located in the himalayas between
China and India and is one of the happiest countries in the world because the government has
focused on following the four pillars of happiness. Each pillar supports and helps to provide the
right environment for happiness, these pillars are compatible living conditions, religion,
maintaining the environment, and reliable government support. Bhutan s government has decided to
take this radical approach, helping its citizens by trying to improve the nation s gross national
happiness. Bhutan has stayed relatively poor in wealth but rich in culture and happiness.
Only recently has Bhutan started building cities and roads but the country is careful not to jump
into an industrial revolution like many countries already have. Bhutan has been careful to slowly
bring western culture and technology into their country hoping to preserve their culture and
lifestyle. Although Bhutan can only give an estimate on their population most people still live in
small villages and rely use sustenance farming, and only recently have they made small cities for
people to come to. According to the Asian Development Bank Bhutan small economy results in On

Analysis Of Cytotoxic T Cells ( Ctcs )
Cytotoxic T Cells (CTCs) are comprised of alpha beta chains that have the ability to directly kill
infected cells. As a major component of the adaptive immune system, the function of CTCs are
to scan the intracellular environment in order to target and destroy infected cells . Small
peptide molecules, presented on behalf of the entire cell, are transported to the cell surface as
pMHC, allowing TCRs on the surface to detect any foreign signals in the method explain above.
The diagram below shows how the antigen fragment inside the cell associates with an MHC
molecule and is transported to the cell surface. CTC responses to disease are initiated through
the interaction between the TCR, and these protein fragments derived from foreign invaders that
are presented by pMHCI on the surface of infected cells. The affinity between CD8 and the
MHC molecule keeps the T cell and the target cell bound closely together during antigen specific
activation specially conducted in CTC due to the complex bonds within the CD8. Once a CTL
has identified a cell expressing a foreign class 1 MHC, the infected cell is eliminated. The
structure of the receptors on these CTCs are specialised for this due to its double edged variable
region, as shown in the diagram, allowing for additional binding to co receptor CD8, facilitating
the phagocytosis on the pathogen if necessary. CDR3 is found on the TCR in CTCs as CTCs
interact with a large number of different cell types and recognise a diverse

Compare And Contrast Liberalism And International Relations
Realism: most appropriate theory for explaining international relations.
Introduction
The world is complex and due to this, there has been many attempts made to create a system,
which would be able to explain the way in which International Relations works. Realism is the
most successful theory in doing so. However, this does not mean it is the only theory. There are
many competitive theories and the most predominant one is known as Liberalism. This essay will
thus discuss Realism and Liberalism as two different theories. In this essay there will be
emphasised placed one the two school different views on power and morality

Realist see the world as Anarchy as well as international relations (Donnelly, 200:1)
Thus, do Realist believe that states should pursue their own interest defined in terms of power.
Realist view on terrorism is that the act of terrorism is an act of war. Thus from the perspective
of a realist must the state do what is necessary to protect the power of the state. There are no
limits when it comes to states exercising their power. Nicolao Machiavelli point out that in war
morals may be sacrificed. For where the very safety of the country depends upon the resolution
to be taken, no considerations or injustice or justice, cruelty or humanity, nor of shame or glory
should be allowed to prevail. However, putting all other considerations aside the only question
should be. What course will save the life and liberty of the country Thus there can be said that
the goal of war (and since act against terrorism is seen as war), is to preserve power in any means
possible against those who are disrupting the state s power and harming the way of life, like

Benefits Of Hiring Virtual Employees
The Internet has made working from home a reality for employees and has completely changed
the way businesses operate in the modern world. No longer do business owners have to pay for
office space, they can simply meet with their employees virtually and still get business done.
Hiring virtual employees has proven to be very advantageous for many businesses, helping to cut
down on costs and streamline workflow. By widening the hiring pool from local to global allows
employers to select from a range of of talent.
However, with all of the advantages of allowing employees to work virtually, there is no getting
around the fact that managing them can prove to be challenging. This is not to say that you can t
manage your virtual employees successfully, you just need to have to have the knowledge and tools
to do so.
The following tips will help you be able to transition from a traditional management style to
working with virtual employees quickly and effectively.
Create a sense of community
When all of your employees are working from home and possibly live in different states/countries
and time zones, it is easy for everyone to forget that they are part of a team.
Because your virtual team members don t work in the same location, they may not communicate
and collaborate as much as they need to.
In a virtual environment you can still create a sense of community for your employees by creating
opportunities for team members to chat both formally and informally.

Landlord and Tenant Law
PA303
Unit 1 Written Assignment
February 7, 2012
What Are The Rewards of Becoming A Landlord? Owning rental property offers many financial
and lifestyle benefits. The number one reward and benefit of being a landlord and having rental
property is you own the property. As long as you are not breaking the law in the process, it is yours
to live in, enjoy, freely and rent to whomever you chose as long as you follow the law and do it
legally.
Many have amassed a fortune in property rental. Even in this economy, if you hold onto your
property long enough, it will almost always appreciate in value. It can be a guaranteed way to ...

Most first time landlords still have full time jobs and may find it difficult to handle both. Even
though being a landlord does not have to be a full time job, depending on your resources, it will
take more than a few hours a week to do the job. Most landlords need to be reachable and available
24 hours a day, to attend to or answer some form of emergent problem or non emergent problem
from their tenants (i.e. a pipe burst, the lights went out or a loud and unruly neighbor/tenant).
This brings you, the potential land, to the problems with tenants. Problem tenants can be one of
the unfortunate problems and facts of owning rental property. There will always be a possibility
that a landlord will get the tenant from Hell , someone who either doesn t pay the rent or doesn t
pay rent on time, who destroys the property or who call and bugs the landlord continuously for just
about anything. A proper background check or screening process will help eliminate some
problematic tenants. However, a properly executed lease or rental agreement will probably help
deal with most annoying tenants.
There may be times when the landlord experiences problems with leasing their apartments, such as
in a recession, a soft market or a modest/bad economy which can and does not exclude the best of
real estate investors/landlords. However, realistically, vacancies for a landlord will are a reality no

Compare And Contrast The American Musical Theatre In The...
Compare and contrast the American musical theatre in the 1920s with that of the 1930s. How
did each reflect and absorb its era? What forms styles were dominant, what was the same, what
was different and why? Do we see elements from these decades in shows today? Use examples
from specific musicals. In the 1920 s, musical theater was roaring just like the economic
situation in the United States. Florenz Ziegfeld was at his peak, buying shows and catapulting
them to the forefront of pop culture. The most popular songs on the radio were songs that were
written and performed in broadway shows. The subway station had just opened in times square
and people came rushing to the theaters. Rag time was the popular genre at the time and Jazz
musicians were working on their own genre just blocks away. Prohibition caused the rise of the
speakeasy and as a result, people of different social classes were interacting. People were looking
for entertainment that matched the change in people s sensibilities. During this period, musicals
(which were labeled musical comedies at the time) were in the form of acceptable of guilty
pleasures the appeal of women and their sexuality, silly characters that made fools of themselves,
or the goofy country girl dancing through the chores of the day. Ziegfeld s Follies, Marx brother
shows, and Al Jolson playing his character in blackface are great examples of these shows that
focused on showing off the stars and gave little care to the

The Invention Of The Modern World
In almost every scientific discipline, complex, specialised instrumentation has been considered
important, if not integral to scientific development. As the scientific developed and
professionalised, instrumentation integrated yet further into the social routine of formal laboratory
work and, arguably, became endemic within the fabric of everyday late industrial life1. This state of
affairs has persisted since at least the late nineteenth century2. In some cases, instrumentation has
almost subsumed the individual scientist within historical narrative. It is impossible to imagine
classic depictions of the great myth of Galileo without the obligatory appearance of at least one of
his telescopes3, or a sketch of Newton without his refracting prism. Celebration of material
apparatus has been an enduring theme, particularly in more poplar depictions of the process of
scientific progress. Today, the seemingly incomprehensibly complex microscope or (now orbital)
telescope are still instantly recognisable, as visual shorthand for the sharpest points within the
material armoury of the scientist. It is therefore undeniable that from the genesis of Western
modernity in the sixteenth century there has been a near obsession with developing, enhancing and
portraying devices of observation, measurement and quantification. Yet the literary examination and
incorporation of scientific instruments into narrative and displays of physical heritage has been a
convoluted and (at times)

The Era Of Reconstruction During The Civil War
The Era of Reconstruction started in 1855. After the Civil war ended the South was left in
shambles. Southern states were left in economic and politic distress and faced renewed social
issues. The objective of Reconstruction in the South was to restore the South economically,
award freed African Americans the rights to be equal citizens in the eyes of the law, and repair
the breakage in the Union. Though the people worked to restore the South they were unable to get
over the differences and realities needed to become whole again. The South was left in ruins after
the war. Homes and families were displaced, Railroads and industry were damaged, farms once full
of cotton and tobacco were stripped down to nothing. In aspirations that it... Show more content on

Without anywhere to go, freedmen returned to the lands and became a part of a system of labor
called sharecropping . Freedmen were never able to make enough to support themselves and fell
further into debt. Not to mention the major drop in prices of major cash crops that once fueled
the South s economy. Though the whole idea was to entrust freedmen with their independence
and allow the ability to build wealth, but the freedmen were practically remaining slaves but to
the land rather than the landowners. Even those who migrated to cities in order to leave the
plantations were unable to create a standard life. Many freedmen in the city were unable to get
substantial wages and lived a hard life. In an interview with a black labor it is explained, He
admitted to a journalist in 1870 that he had difficulties making ends meet on $1.50 a day (457). It
was common that laborers working in factories or as maids/laundresses could barely afford to
live. Reconstruction was to help these people and help the economy but it never quite succeeded.
In the same case, though given the so called freedoms and rights freedmen struggled to achieve
what was promised. Though the goals of reconstruction were somewhat reached, the ideas of
equality were not completely fulfilled. In order to help the freedmen the Freedmen s Bureau was
created. The agency did strive to help with schools and education, but it lacked in some
departments. The bureau just did not have the personnel or

American literature How Anne Bradstreet confronts puritan view of gender
Anna Bradstreet grows up in a healthy family. She was the daughter of Thomas Dudley who is the
manager of the country estate of the Puritan Earl of Lincoln. Anna Bradstreet got married at the age

When Bradstreet was a little girl, she writes poems to honor and please her father. After she got
married, she kept writing and it marriage didn t stop her. Her brother in law, John Woodbridge,
pastor of the Andover Church, brought with him to London a manuscripts collection of her poetry
in 1650. It was her first book, The Tenth Muse was the first published volume of poems written by

of God and she always wrote about her faith in her poetry. She always talked about the Puritan and
their believes and views on salvation and reclamation in her poetry. Anna seems to believe that
God has punished her through her sicknesses. The Puritans believed suffering was God s plan of

  • 2. The Problem Of Complacency Is Really One Of The Major... Complacency is definitely one of the major reasons realistic training has suffered over the last few years. Multiple deployments, sometimes to the same area of operations, has fostered a laid back approach to unit s road to war training. Even rotations to the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) incorporated similar scenarios that don t require too much complex thinking on behalf of the unit. In the last year JRTC has started focusing more on the DATE scenario in preparation for future conflicts. Units need to develop a training program to fill the gap between RL progression and deployments or CTC rotations. I think you bring up some good points regarding real life experience being a factor in realistic training. As we get closer to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Realistic training should start by researching the enemy we will be facing. Once the capabilities of your enemy has been defined, planning on how to successfully defeat their technology can be accomplished. Once a plan is developed units can begin conducting collective training starting with the classroom and eventually building up to simulators and finally operations in the aircraft. Most Divisions usually conduct a culminating training event every year, communicating your training objectives to the ground unit can help to build your unit s proficiency. Week 5 Discussion Board: Tactics Discuss the importance of realistic tactics training In the Army we say train as you fight , this concept has been a building block for all soldiers to follow since basic training. In some units, this concept has been ignored as multiple deployments to the same theater has brought about a sense of complacency in the ranks. As the focus of the Army is shifting towards a hybrid threat and we will inevitably be facing a more complex skilled enemy with far better equipment, our approach to training needs to be re thought. Leaders at all levels have the responsibility to ensure their subordinates are as prepared as they can be going into a deployment. An organized training plan consisting of some individual tasks building up to mission tasks at all echelon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on The Debate Over Birds and Feathered Dinosaurs The Debate Over Birds and Feathered Dinosaurs Because dinosaurs are animals that lived millions of years ago, we are entirely dependent on the fossils that they have left behind for any understanding that we hope to gain. As any paleontologist will tell you, fossil hunting is difficult. There are no certainties, no guarantees. A certain amount of luck is as valuable as any scientific knowledge. Every so often a discovery is made that attempts to shake up pre conceived notions of how the dinosaurs actually lived or how they came to be. On June 22, 2000, in Oregon, scientists announced the discovery of the oldest known animal to have feathers. Though no records indicate how the age of the animal was determined, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, those that actually subscribe to the feathered Longisquama theory are a decided minority in the paleontological community. The detractors of Nonavian Feathers in a Late Triassic Archosaur believe that the feather like impressions in the fossil are not even feathers at all. Based on the angle and shape of the imprints, many paleontologists believe that they were left by highly modified scales , or possibly even ferns that had fallen on the animal s body after death.4 Disregarding the feathers of Longisquama, and therefore disregarding its link to Archaeopteryx, these scientists still fully support the dinosaur bird link. As mentioned before, the extreme majority of paleontologists still subscribe to this idea. A recent discovery in the western region of China seems to clarify the link between dinosaurs and birds. Living at roughly the same time as Archaeopteryx, Sinovenator changii is very closely related to the bird yet is classified as a dinosaur.5 This discovery is widely regarded as very good evidence that dinosaurs and birds share evolutionary traits, and disputes the assertion that they are unrelated; as made by those that support the feathered Longisquama findings. As if this finding wasn t enough, other feathered dinosaurs have been discovered in the same region of China. Protarchaeopteryx and Caudipteryx zoui lived about 125 and 145 million years ... • 4. Propaganda During The Great War The Great War was not only fought with tanks, U boats, and trench warfare, but it was a war of propaganda. Propaganda from both sides was used throughout the Great War to help try and shape the opinions of each embattled nation. This total war did not just require innovative weapons, but also innovative and at times even deceptive propaganda. The British, Germans and United States governments specifically, invested a lot of resources into propaganda as a way to increase recruitment numbers, build international support, and instill a sense of confidence in what was the Great War. Countries had to not just focus their efforts on getting people from their own country to support them, but also neutral countries, as well as having to focus on the enemies by use of atrocity propaganda. In turn, this led to governments tampering with the human will, and even using deceit, all in an effort to help solidify their sides victory. In turn, propaganda played a vital role in the Great War and additionally created an everlasting influence on both war and media in the world today. Unlike previous wars, this war required not just millions of men to serve their own countries, but it required the support of all civilians to help play a role in the war efforts. M.L Saunders stated During the war, sections of the community which has previously remained uninvolved in the exigencies of national survival had found themselves directly affected by events at the front line. • 5. An Exploration through Shojo and Shonen Manga through... An Exploration of ShЕЌjo and ShЕЌnen Manga through Sailor Moon and Black Cat Genres are one of the first things readers look at to help determine whether or not a book should be read. Although there are many similarities between the genres shounen (manga intended for males) and shoujo (manga intended for females) that make a manga seem like it could be either genre, there are differences that are meant to distinguish between their respective audiences. As a more specific example, the shared themes of fighting, love, and superhuman powers as well as the character in Black Cat and Sailor Moon suggest a similar genre and audience; however, upon closer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at a fight scene from Black Cat, a battle with the main character (Train Heartnet) starts in chapter 49 and continues through chapter 51. Throughout these chapters, Train is fighting his enemy almost the entire time (there are moments when it cuts to his companions for a few pages). The battle finally concludes on page 16 in chapter 51 when Train knocks out his enemy with a strike to the face. With the finishing blow, his foe spits out a mouthful of blood and can be seen bleeding a few panels later. There is no attempt to hide any blood or gore in Black Cat, whereas in Sailor Moon the enemy simply melts away and blood is avoided. Whether or not this is intended, the effect is clear: Black Cat attracts viewers who like to see violence without any censorship and Sailor Moon appeals to people who are not as into the depictions of fighting. The difference in length of battle also plays a role in highlighting the scene. The couple pages of fighting in Sailor Moon are dwarfed by the multiple chapters Black Cat uses to play out a fight. This emphasizes the point that one manga is trying to appeal to audiences wanting to see more combat and the other is for readers who prefer less violence. There are also less theatrical acts in Black Cat; Train and his enemy do not shout out their moves before they attack unlike Sailor Moon. This further accentuates how Black Cat readers are used to seeing fighting scenes and do not need to have fights explained, where Sailor Moon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. My Childhood and Youth Studies at Coventry University I am currently studying my first year of Childhood and Youth Studies at Coventry University, and hope to progress and study a PGCE to qualify to become a primary school teacher. I enjoy working with children and watching them improve over time; it gives me a great feeling knowing that I helped them improve. I have previously undertaken a placement at Coundon Court Early Years nursery, with children aged from six months to five years, I worked with the children aged three to five. From my placement I gained many skills such as patience, a good sense of humour and enthusiasm. I feel that patience is necessary as working with young children can be challenging, and also because all children have their own learning pace. For example, the children aged four and five had written their name starting from right to left. On the other hand the children below this age group included the correct letters that appeared in the name, but all in the incorrect order. Teachers need to be aware of each child s individual needs and work to help them reach full potential within their capabilities. Patience is also necessary as children are not always going to be familiar with what is being taught to them, I believe that teachers always need to be willing to see things from other people s perspectives too. The difficulties I experienced with learning as a young child have given me empathy for others when they go through similar issues. A teacher that only recently understood something remembers ... The battle of Hastings was one of the most memorable and successful battles that I have ever participated in as a Norman soldier. The Duke of Normandy, William, prepared for the battle against the King of England, Harold, months in advance. It all started after the death of King Edward, the Confessor died the 5th of January 1066 without an official heir to the throne (BBC, 2011). Us soldiers were never given the length in time we were going to be at this camp. Our time here was spent building parts of wooden castles that we were to take with us to the battle field. The smell of freshly cut wood once again made me and the other soldiers anxious to go into battle. While building and preparing ourselves for battle, some of us soldiers spoke of the land that Duke William had promised us when we conquered England. At one point it felt like I was never going to receive that land as for the days kept going by and no news of moving out had been spoken of. As the days went on, I noticed they started to become cooler. Finally late September, Duke Williams received the news that Harald Hardrada and Tostig launched their invasion of Northumbria. Our day to invasion of the south was coming fast. It was just a few days after Duke Williams received the great news that our fleet of ships set sail. We all worked hard to load the ships with weapons, armor, pre built wooden castles, food and drinks. The smell of the sea air never smelt any better than it did on that day. Battle was coming near and the promised land was just out of reach for me and the other soldiers. Some social groups can be determined by a broad spectrum or a narrow spectrum. Social groups can be spread out throughout different regions as well as an entire nation as a whole. Every person who attends North Carolina State University is part of the same social group. That social group can be broken down into many smaller groups, such as the individual colleges in the University. Within those smaller groups of the different colleges, the groups can even be divided into smaller groups by major, and then again by concentration. Every person belongs to dozens of social groups without even realizing. The social group that has played a huge role in my life is the one of people who has participated in mission work. Mission work is something that has been very vital in my life ever since I was a little girl in middle school. I do not know what my life would be today without being part of groups that did service projects, and volunteer work as well as on many occasions spreading the knowledge of Christianity. I have been a part of two groups in particular that have truly changed the way I look at life and how I view other people. • 11. Florence Nightingale Contributions Florence Nightingale was born May 12th, 1820 named after Florence, Italy, where she was born. At just one year old Florence moved to England because her father owned Lea Hurst, a country house, in Derbyshire and was extremely wealthy. When Florence was five years old, her mother Fanny convinced her husband to move to Emely Park where the Nightingales would have more entertainment. Although this made Fanny happy, Florence was miserable with the consistent guests and chatter. She preferred to be alone with her thoughts. Growing up she was only taught the things a good wife and mother would need to know, including; music, dance, needlework and art lessons. In the 1800s women weren t expected to receive an education based on the core subjects, they learned things that would help them become the best care taker they could be. Since Florence was considered upper class, it was highly unlikely for her to ever have a job. But as Florence grew older she became very neat and organized. She enjoyed numbers and placing data into tables. At the age of eight she taught herself French and always did the right thing because she believed that s what god wanted. Once Florence turned twelve her father, William Nightingale insisted on her and Parthenope, her older sister, to be well educated. William taught his two daughters the following languages; Latin, Greek, French, Italian, and German. Then he had them learn all about history, philosophy, ethics, composition, the bible, and mathematics. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Repercussions Of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership Tiffany Tsang Clarke World Core, Period 1 25 November 2014 Repercussions of Julius Caesar s Poor Leadership William Shakespeare s tragedy Julius Caesar highlights how weak leaders affect society s condition. Shakespeare displays this through the actions of multiple characters, one of whom is Julius Caesar, a Roman general and senator greatly favored by the people. Caesar enters the play by ignoring a soothsayer s omen to beware the ides of March, an action that is indicative of his belief in his personal invulnerability. Caesar s continuous disregard of warnings of his death manifests into his ultimate demise. To enforce an unpopular law significant resources need to be committed to the enforcement effort (e.g., regulation surveillance, violation arrests, court enforcement, etc.) How did this play itself out in the case of Alcohol Prohibition? It might be said regarding prohibition that much of America was in favor of drunks drinking less, but still wanted to drink freely themselves because they personally were responsible drinkers. Also, that America was divided politically, religiously, and culturally, along rural (native) and urban (immigrant) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sums of money being exchanged during the dry era proved a corrupting influence in both the federal Bureau of Prohibition and at the state and local level. Police officers and Prohibition agents alike were frequently tempted by bribes or the lucrative opportunity to go into bootlegging themselves. Many stayed honest, but enough succumbed to the temptation that the stereotype of the corrupt Prohibition agent or local cop undermined public trust in law enforcement for the duration of the era. http://www.pbs.org/kenburns/prohibition/unintended consequences/ Enforcement of the Volstead Act became unpractical as the scope of the problem overwhelmed existing law enforcement resources and there were no concerted efforts to fund law enforcement to the level where the problem could be met with an appropriate response. Point 2 Illegalizing a common behavior (or commodity) that a large portion of the population feels should be their own business not only creates instant lawbreakers of people who are not fundamentally criminal but also creates the conditions for the development of an underground black market and the organized crime syndicates associated with that black market . Discuss how Prohibition illustrated this point. • 17. Diet And The Mediterranean Diet The Mediterranean diet, which has been coined, The world s healthiest diet, has risen in popularity over the last decade. The diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, olive oil and the occasional red wine, has been claimed to offer abundant health benefits including reducing risk for major chronic illnesses, neurodegenerative diseases, some types of cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Most recently, it has been hypothesized that this diet may be associated with health related quality of life (HRQL). Bonaccio, et.al. (2013) conducted a sample study to discover correlations between adherence to a Mediterranean diet and HRQL and the mechanisms behind such findings. The Mediterranean diet (MD) refers to a lifestyle in which individuals primarily consume foods traditional to the countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. Plants foods, cereals, legumes, and fish make up the abundance of the diet, while olive oil is the main source of fat and red wine is encouraged in moderation. The majority of the food consumed on the MD is high in dietary fiber, antioxidants, polyphenols, and monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which presumably contribute to the copious health benefits attributed to the diet (Bonaccio, et.al., 2013). As a result, the total costs of GM remain much higher than the one of its competitors. Wrong evaluation of customer needs Since 1980, GM has failed to respond to customer preference and needs. This resulted in wrong focus on vehicle types in the U.S. market as customers preferred smaller, cheaper and more efficient cars rather than the bigger vehicle that GM had to offer. However, GM s profit mainly relies on the sale of SUVs and trucks, which is no more popular and this led to the decline of sales and revenues. In addition, GM s cars are less fuel efficient compared to its competitors such as Toyota and Honda. This resulted in a decrease of GM sales in Asian and American markets. • 22. The Development And Production Of Golden Rice Transgenesis is the genetic modification of the traits of an organism through the transfer of genetic material from one species to another [8]. This method is when a gene is inserted into a different specie so that the organism will attain the desired gene from the foreign (different) specie. These organisms can express the genes from foreign species because the genetic code for all organisms is similar which results in that particular DNAsequence that codes for the same proteins and therefore the same trait and will be present in the newly inserted foreign organism containing the desired gene. Transgenesis occurs mainly because of human manipulation with the purpose of improving animals and plants, modifying crops and also using these organisms as bio factories for human gain/ benefit. We need to consider the significant role of TME, especially CAFs and immune cells, which profoundly participate in the metabolic interplay with neoplastic cells. Metabolic balance between all these players also promotes resistance to treatments, including not only the conventional chemotherapy or radiotherapy but also the most recent and advanced immunotherapies. Characterizing the mutual metabolic interplay between stromal, immune, and neoplastic cells will likely provide a better understanding of tumor progression and treatment resistance (Gentric, 2017). The scope of this research is restricted to one important class of simulation software, the area of semi automated forces (SAF) systems. As Petty describes in [14], semi automated forces (SAF) systems are computer software systems to generate and control autonomous entities (such as tanks, soldiers, or aircraft) in a simulation using a combination of behavior generation algorithms and human operator commands. The SAF entities exist in a battlefield that is a simulated subset of the real world, so the physical events and phenomena on the battlefield must be modeled. SAF controlled entities should obey the laws of physics. The accuracy of the SAF physics models is important to the utility of the simulation. Exactly how accurate those models must be, depends on how the system will be used. It is not uncommon when the real time performance of the simulation is more important than high accuracy, to have high fidelity models replaced with lower fidelity models based on look up tables. However, in the case of Islam, the relationship between religion and music is more strained, as Islamic law strictly forbids listening to music. However, there is a very strong religious debate on what constitutes musicas diversion and what is acceptable to use in worship and religious purposes. There are two concepts in Islamwhich are relevant to this conversation: sama and ghina. The ghina is the simpler of the two, referring to music and performance associated with secular art music; this is normally banished. Ghina is the only genre which is referred to as music . The sama, on the other hand, is more complex. Sama, which literally means listening and thus, includes the music being listened to (as well as dance as performed by mystic societies) is more complex. The abundance of writings about the sama is chiefly due to the debate surrounding the legality of music and dance from a legal, mystical, and religious perspective. Some elements of music have been categorized as acceptable sama by religious authorities, including Koran cantillation, singing of unaccompanied hymns, old Bedouin songs, and simple functional folk songs used to mark events in a community or individual s life, thus considering them to be non music . They thought he was mad. On April 3rd, the war was over. Robert E. Lee had surrendered and the kidnapping plan ruined. So Booth began to hatch another plan of assassinating the president. • 36. Is There Air Temperature On The Moon 1. Describe and give examples of the various ways that heat can be transported in the atmosphere. There are a variety of ways that heat can be transported in the atmosphere. The first method is conduction. According to Ahrens (2015) conduction is referred to when heat shift from one molecule to another (p. 33). A reoccurred example of conduction we see every day is when we cook. You put a pan on the stove and turn on the stove top. The heatfrom the burner transfers to the cold pan to heat the pan. The next method is convection. Ahrens (2015) stated, the transfer of heat by the mass movement of a fluid (such as water and air) is called convection (p. 33). An example of convection is the operation of a convection oven. The heat of oven rises... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Ahrens (2015), the earth s atmosphere contains nitrogen (N2) and oxygen (O2), with small amounts of water vapor (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CВ¬2) (p. 4). Scientists believe the process for formation of today s earth s atmosphere started billions of years ago. Ahrens (2015) stated the earth s first atmosphere was comprised of hydrogen and helium as well as methane and ammonia but is believed to have escaped into space due to the heat of the earth (p. 5). The assumption here is that a second atmosphere was created due to the excessive heat from volcanoes and steam vents comprised of mainly water vapor and carbon dioxide with trace amounts of nitrogen (Ahrens, 2015, p. 5). As the earth started to form its rivers, lakes, and oceans the water began to absorb mass amounts of the carbon dioxide converting the atmosphere into a nitrogen and oxygen rich atmosphere (Ahrens, 2015, p. 5). 4. Many people will blow on a bowl of hot soup to try to cool it. In your view, what are the two most important heat transport processes cooling the soup? In my view, the two most important heat transport processes cooling the soup are conduction and convection. For conduction, heat will always rise to seek colder a cold region. This is why you see steam or vapor coming off of a bowl of soup. For convection, we are applying the same elements of conduction, however we are adding current or wind to displace the heat which will rise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Modern biochemical study and analysis of nucleic acids have been heavily dominated by electrophoresis and polymerase chain reaction techniques, as the former allows for relatively inexpensive and accessible resolution and visualization of nucleic acids according to basic chemical properties such as molecular charge and weight, and the latter quickly increases the concentration of nucleic acids, normally found in cells in minute amounts, to a level easily analyzed by modern biochemical techniques. These two techniques are therefore currently indispensable in dealing with nucleic acids on a practical level, and are tools which should be present in every biologist s kit. This study therefore attempts to elucidate the theoretical and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While ample plant and animal samples can be easily obtained, for bacterial samples such as E. coli, they must be propagated first in culture in order to obtain the necessary amount of cells needed for the DNA extraction process. The extraction and purification of genomic DNA is essential as purified DNA serves as the starting point for the amplification of a gene within the DNA via the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). First and foremost, cell lysis or cell disruption must be done to release the cell contents to expose the DNA within the organism, detergents, basic or high salt solutions will then be used for DNA purification by dissociating other biomolecules such as proteins and lipids. DNA will finally be isolated through the use of organic reagents and centrifugation to facilitate collection of the precipitated DNA. Prior to the experiment, materials to be used were sterilized to prevent contamination, which may later on affect the results as contaminants may react with the solutions to be used for the later procedures or even damage the DNA samples. Autoclaving or the use of pressurized steam was utilized to sterilize the materials as exposure to high temperatures normally causes damage to cytoplasmic membranes, breakdown of ribosomes, irreversible enzyme denaturation and DNA strand breakage of bacterial contaminants. Due to the ability of nucleic acids to store genetic information which will later on encode for necessary proteins, it is important to extract ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For clarification of today s round, I offer the following counter definitions. To begin with, the word prison reform is defined as the attempt to improve conditions inside prisons, aiming at a more effective penal system. In addition to that, the term not justified is defined as something that is not shown to be right or reasonable. The highest value within today s round is efficiency and it is defined as performing or functioning in the best possible way with the least waste of time and effort. Efficiency is most important in today s round because it shows how prisons are functioning in the way that they are supposed to, and they are providing the prisoners will all of their necessities such as education as well as food. The best criterion for evaluating this resolution is effectiveness and it is defined as successful in producing a desired or intended result. • 42. The Emperor s New Clothes Hans Christian Anderson displays insight into the vanity of man in the popular children s story, The Emperor s New Clothes . Although born into the world as unique individuals, humans grow up seeking approval, acceptance, and validation in the societal norms in which they live. Rather than embracing their individuality, most live out their lives trying to fit into a mold that their culture deems as successful. Most cultures view accomplishments, wealth, and positions of influence as measures of success; thus, an individual s value is calculated by what he has externally and not by who he is internally. Therefore, many people fail to develop their gifts, talents, and personalities to live a fulfilling life for themselves, and they succumb to societal pressure to strive for the materialistic, external trappings of success. This presents a struggle between self and society. In The Emperor s New Clothes , Anderson uses clothingto symbolize this struggle wearing society s accepted standards as clothes to mask our naked vulnerability to rejection. Anderson s story centers on an emperor whose validation comes from his wardrobe. This fondness for beautiful clothes leaves him vulnerable to a couple of swindlers who come to his town; these con artists claimed to be weavers of an extraordinary cloth that is invisible to anyone who was unfit for his office or unforgiveable stupid (The Emperor s New Clothes, para 2). As a major component of the adaptive immune system, the function of CTCs are to scan the intracellular environment in order to target and destroy infected cells . Small peptide molecules, presented on behalf of the entire cell, are transported to the cell surface as pMHC, allowing TCRs on the surface to detect any foreign signals in the method explain above. The diagram below shows how the antigen fragment inside the cell associates with an MHC molecule and is transported to the cell surface. CTC responses to disease are initiated through the interaction between the TCR, and these protein fragments derived from foreign invaders that are presented by pMHCI on the surface of infected cells. The affinity between CD8 and the MHC molecule keeps the T cell and the target cell bound closely together during antigen specific activation specially conducted in CTC due to the complex bonds within the CD8. Once a CTL has identified a cell expressing a foreign class 1 MHC, the infected cell is eliminated. The structure of the receptors on these CTCs are specialised for this due to its double edged variable region, as shown in the diagram, allowing for additional binding to co receptor CD8, facilitating the phagocytosis on the pathogen if necessary. What forms styles were dominant, what was the same, what was different and why? Do we see elements from these decades in shows today? Use examples from specific musicals. In the 1920 s, musical theater was roaring just like the economic situation in the United States. Florenz Ziegfeld was at his peak, buying shows and catapulting them to the forefront of pop culture. The most popular songs on the radio were songs that were written and performed in broadway shows. The subway station had just opened in times square and people came rushing to the theaters. Rag time was the popular genre at the time and Jazz musicians were working on their own genre just blocks away. Prohibition caused the rise of the speakeasy and as a result, people of different social classes were interacting. People were looking for entertainment that matched the change in people s sensibilities. During this period, musicals (which were labeled musical comedies at the time) were in the form of acceptable of guilty pleasures the appeal of women and their sexuality, silly characters that made fools of themselves, or the goofy country girl dancing through the chores of the day. As the scientific developed and professionalised, instrumentation integrated yet further into the social routine of formal laboratory work and, arguably, became endemic within the fabric of everyday late industrial life1. This state of affairs has persisted since at least the late nineteenth century2. In some cases, instrumentation has almost subsumed the individual scientist within historical narrative. It is impossible to imagine classic depictions of the great myth of Galileo without the obligatory appearance of at least one of his telescopes3, or a sketch of Newton without his refracting prism. Celebration of material apparatus has been an enduring theme, particularly in more poplar depictions of the process of scientific progress. Today, the seemingly incomprehensibly complex microscope or (now orbital) telescope are still instantly recognisable, as visual shorthand for the sharpest points within the material armoury of the scientist. It is therefore undeniable that from the genesis of Western modernity in the sixteenth century there has been a near obsession with developing, enhancing and portraying devices of observation, measurement and quantification.
