Winter  put down its cold snowy  finger  and the city slowly went white. Simply put this means: Autumn turned to winter and snow begun to fall.  By  HC
The  tree  by the river  wept  under the weight of the storm SIMPLY PUT… this means: Its raining and the trees branches droop down under the weight of the rain and wind. By NM
Blades of  grass   struggled  from the sand. SIMPLY PUT…  this means: Its difficult for grass to grow.  So there is only a little bit of grass. By SK
