Business – HR Management Portfolio (PFHM) "Strengths Essay" Ljame17 – Student ID 000290423
Each of us possess personal characteristic strengths that makes each of us unique. As individuals
these strengths allow us to add value to all of our relationships both personally and professionally.
For many of us, we can recognize the characteristics and how they add value to lives, unfortunately
though many of us will struggle voicing these strengths openly during job interviews, performance
evaluations, or team meetings. One of the first challenges is to understand that we are all lifelong
learners and it is through these experiences that we develop these strengths which allows us to
become an essential part of a relationship whether it is a personal or professional relationship. As
within the realm of a Human Resource Professional the ability to recognize these strengths in people
we must also recognize them within ourselves so that we may leverage those skills to advocate for
both the employee and the organization. Throughout my life, my strengths have tended to gain more
clarity and centered on my profession because form many of the majority of our time is spent there.
Some of my personal characteristics that will bring value and strength to any organization are:
organization, communication, the ability to be discrete and ethical, conflict management/problem
solving and change management. As in many organization HR management requires a very orderly
approach. Throughout my

Personal Strengths and Weaknesses
A reason that this country works well is that everyone has diverse abilities which can contribute to
everyday life. Some people let those abilities shine at work, in their personal life or both. As people
have their strengths, they also have their weaknesses. There is a problem to improve those
weaknesses when the weakness is not identified. Once the weak point is identified it needs to be
resolved. A plan of action for improvement helps in solving the situation. In this paper, I will
identify abilities and skills that I possess that contribute positively in my work environment, in my
personal life, and in my learning team. I will also identify personal areas that need improvement,
and outline a plan of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acquiring a better understanding of these qualities will help me get closer to graduating and
obtaining my Bachelor's of Business Management.
Professionally, I have the ability to track different projects at different times. The ability to track
different projects simultaneously has been very helpful when trying to work on a deadline. Many
employers describe it as "multi–tasking". Everyday has the potential for drastic workplace or school
environment change. Working on different types of assignments weekly has taught me to adapt my
skills in a variety of different work situations.
Another of my stronger qualities is my physical ability. I have always been in touch with that side of
myself. I figure if I can't pull my own weight, I will be useless. Being a Marine makes me
concentrate on that aspect day in and day out. We often have competitions of various things just to
keep it interesting. I really can't imagine myself without physical training.
The last quality that enhances my personality is structured organization. I provide strength and
confidence to my peers and team members in times of unpredicted situations. I try to remain calm,
so I can provide direction. A team needs a person they can look up to for guidance and support for
work or school issues. Since I will be working with teams throughout this program at the University
of Phoenix Online, this would be one

Personal Strengths Analysis
1– The strengths that I believe to possess would be understanding my emotions of my friends and
myself. I have always been in touch with what I am feeling and I hope to be a friend that can be
called upon in times of need. I also believe that I am quite easy going and am always up to socialise
which is also a strength that my friends would associate with me also. I hope that these strengths
provide me with the relevant skills that a good person and friend possess, which is what I strive to
be.
2– The main weakness that I encounter largely throughout my life would be stress management. I
encountered stress a lot as a child and it has continued to take over me sometimes even as a young
adult. I struggle to talk about my stress to others which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To put it simply being a good friend and person is something that will always be the biggest goal of
mine. To obtain this life mission I will have to first learn to keep myself happy and satisfied. Trying
to help and understand others would be a near impossible feat if I were unable to deal with my own
emotions first. I believe that I have the right skills and values to keep my emotions stable with also
helping the people I care about as well. Some specific goals that I wish to obtain on my "life
mission" would be to firstly finish my university degree. Family and friends have always stressed
the importance of schooling, and I always set my eyes on finishing university and joining the
workforce. Through getting my degree hopefully in the project management sector, this will enable
me to land a job in which I am respected and welcomed. To make sure that this goal does not end
bottoms up, I will need to dedicate myself to my studies, certainly more then I currently am. I have
never had a real issue with time management as I have always been able to get my work in on time,
however it does not come without stress. From my pre and post personal edge assessment test's the
self–management area is severely disassociated with my results which is something I could look
into. By managing self–management issues such as stress and time management. These areas effect
my day to day life heavily and in order to succeed with my life mission, managing these aspects is
vital. To measure my success, making goals and analysing my progress will go a long way in
attaining what I set out to do. Monitoring my progress frequently will enable me to analyse what
path I am on and how happy I am with it. An example of this was in 2015 when I was undertaking a
university course in which I did not feel I belonged. I analysed my situation and realised that this
was not where I wanted to be and I made

Personal Narrative: My Five Strengths
My five strengths are deliberative, intellection, context, restorative, and learner. The strengths are
generally broad enough to represent me. The five traits go from a very adequate representation to a
rather loose representation of myself. I agree with most of what is stated in the Gallup's
StrengthsFinder, but there are certain inherent flaws in the generalization of my person which I do
not agree with. The strongest representation of my personality in this test is "deliberative". I am a
very private and careful person. I do not like taking risks unless I am well informed on the pros and
cons of the action. I do not allow myself to be very carefree in a sense. I prefer to keep a small circle
of friends, and in short I am a very reserved person. This is an exact representation of my
personality. I am an introvert, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I like thinking. The test was right that my thoughts may lack focus. Sometimes I find that I think too
much and overwhelm myself. I flood my mind with other things that make me uneasy. I like
introspection because it helps with understanding what needs to be improved. On a similar theme,
the "context" trait keeps me grounded. I have a very logical mind. I believe in cause and effect. It is
true that I follow my path to see how I ended up in that certain position. I don't think I live in the
past as they mentioned. I see it as a reflection of where I have been. Most importantly I see it as a
way to measure where I am going. Another trait I don't quite agree with is the "restorative" theme. I
like challenges and solving problems. I don't think it is one of my biggest qualities as a human. I
think they generalized my responses to mean that I am running around looking for problems. I
prefer to be more reserved, and if I find myself right to the task I will surely help. I think I am a bit
too humble to think that I resuscitated or saved anything in my

Personal Strengths
Upon receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Haskayne School of Business (HSB), I
aspire to graduate with marks of excellence. Through constant perseverance, I aim to increase my
communication skills to make me an excellent team player and become a reliable leader. As a result,
I will have a vast network of business contacts. I have a variety of strengths which include being a
hard worker, being determined, showing commitment, being a quick thinker and being adaptable to
any situation. These strengths constantly push me towards success. Hard work and determination
allow me to expand my boundaries and attain my goals. In the past, I have used these strengths to
complete the toughest course I took in high school with an average of 90%. Moreover, my high
levels of commitment to any activity that I participate in is also an asset. In fact, I have been
privileged to mentor younger children at my temple, dedicating 2 hours to them every Sunday.

These improvements include, having anxiety, lack of confidence, procrastination, having poor
vocabulary skills, and lastly, I attempt to please everyone in a group setting. Firstly, when I am in
front of a large audience I tend to forget certain aspects of my presentation. This leads to a lack of
confidence. I also procrastinate with assignments and miss the details of the task as I am rushed to
complete all aspects of it before the deadline. In addition, a lack in confidence of my abilities leads
to doubt within myself. Therefore, I go to a group of peers to assist me in completing my
assignments. In a group setting, I feel the need to please everyone. This only leads to more conflict
within the group and as a result, things worsen. Lastly, due to my poor vocabulary skills, I struggle

Personal Strengths In Leadership
I am a hands–on team leader. I like to get everyone involved and utilize the assets each one has. The
more involved people are in the process, the more committed they will be to the cause. There are
many benefits for the community and ministry to use a team leadership style.
Looking at my past leadership roles, I have always been a hands–on coach. The style I use is not to
tell them how to do it, rather I would participate alongside them working just as they were. My
philosophy has always been not to ask someone to do something I wouldn't or can't. I do not like to
tell, I'd rather demonstrate by doing what is required of the others. I believe I foster goodwill by
being one of many rather than being one leading many.
4) What are your personal strengths in leadership? (2 points)
I have management experience, I coach youth basketball and football, and raise two children. These
facets require a team effort. I try hard to listen, praise, ask for input, and remain humble. I like
delegating, giving others space and freedom to accomplish their task. I'm a gifted problem solver
and I like to handle conflicts. I make these talents available to all I work with. I like to give
recognition, even consider myself to be a cheerleader.
5) What are your personal weaknesses in leadership? (2 points)
Paying attention to the details of other people's lives.

Yoga? I'm Down, Dog Under all normal circumstances, a field full of children lying motionless in a
field would be cause for alarm, however this particular scene occurred under the best circumstances.
On a balmy October day in 2010, a group of girls reclined blissfully in Savasana beneath a
whispering willow tree as the last cotton wood tufts drifted in the breeze. I'd been going to the Boys
& Girls Club every day afterschool for about a month. One afternoon, a volunteer guided a group
through a basic yoga class. Although it was probably only 30 minutes in length, it would serve as
the catalyst for one of the most important chapters in my life. Little did I know it would eventually
lead to my yoga teacher certification and beyond! Following my first post–yoga–bliss, I became
hooked. The afterschool leader, Sarah, could place her full palm on the ground while I could barely
touch my toes. She inspired me; she was an adult who truly inhabited her body. As a freshman, I
began attending classes at a local yoga studio. They were a disaster at first. I felt totally lost in the
fast–paced environment. I didn't have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

generally a confident person, I experienced many normal aspects of youth such as insecurities, and
the tendency to follow adults. This was a challenge I faced (and conquered) during my teacher
training. I was by far the youngest of the class. Who was I to guide a seasoned and wise 60–year–
old? Everything "clicked" when I realized my youth and inexperience did not diminish my value as
a teacher. I walked into my final evaluation with nervous butterflies and a chant in my head of
"you've got this!" After all, the wise yogi knows they have unimaginable potential for growth, while

My Personal Strengths
During the past few months while taking Professionalism and Design I've learned many things I
didn't know before. In the beginning I always thought that this class was just a waste of time but
while I was actually learning, paying attention, and using the time that was given to us.
In the beginning of the semester, we all took a survey on survey monkey that gave us our top 5
strengths. My top 5 strengths were learner, restorative, individualization, achiever, and focus. Using
these trying to find a career will be easy and also being able to use others strengths to be able to
grow my weakness. Not only was I able to use my strengths to find a career I wanted to pursue in
but it was my strengths helping me with athletics, school, and my personal life. These strengths and
values encouraged and pushed me to help others. For others who see my strengths as their
weaknesses, it also gives us a chance to help eachother have a better understanding and help turn
our weaknesses into our strengths. After I had gotten a chance to clearly analyze my strengths, I
made a list including my strengths on how I have used them in the past, how I use them today, and
how I am planning on using them in the future. When I did this, it helped me and pushed me to
become more proactive and taught me how to use them with consistency, productivity, and
efficiency. This list helped me create a better understanding and a vision towards what I ultimately
want to be when I grow up. The reason why I feel

Personal Narrative: My Top Five Strengths
My first authentic reaction when being presented my top five strengths was both reassured and
contented. Looking through my results, I always felt a sense that I dabble more on an analytic level
in comparison to other divisions that relate to different strengths. However, I was underwhelmed
when I saw my top strength being achiever. Although is diverges from my other strengths, I've
always known I've tried my hardest in any situation I am given and hope to receive a good result in
the end. Each of my strengths carries a distinct denotation to one another, but they all reflect a part
of who I am. When it comes to achiever, it means that I have a willingness and a drive to complete a
task to get an overall achievement, and without any form of accomplishment, I feel some
dissatisfaction. Input follows a different idea and goes on to represent that I am responsive to gather
new information and items that will expand my mind that may hold value later in life. Ideation is
like input as it signifies that I am infatuated with ideas and information. It states that I take these
ideas and put my own creativity into them to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two strengths generally go hand–to–hand with each other and they follow similar properties.
There have been problems and challenges I have had in my life where I had to analysis the situation
and determine the best course of action to take. This notion lies under the strength of strategic.
However, within each of those challenges and problems, I always tried my best to overcome those
obstacles and somehow, I feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete my task. This fits best
under the strength achiever. These two strengths balance one another out and they fit the personality
I have developed for myself over the course of my lifetime. They each define a part of my life that

Personal Strengths In Psychology
What are your strengths? My strengths that involve Psychology is the natural way I can interact with
other people and be able to completely somehow relate with how they are feeling but at the same
time offer constructive advice. What are your weaknesses? My weakness in the Psychology field is I
will rarely but sometimes take someone's problems too personal and try my hardest to fix it. Why do
you want this job? I really want this job to be able to work with others while being able to learn
from their mistakes while they learn from mine. What do you know about this company/industry?

Strengths: A Personal Analysis
Ever since I was a child, I have had a strong bond with my family. I have always felt that I could
talk to my parents and grandparents about anything. Over the years, they have given me advice that
I have always taken to heart. When I was five years old and going into kindergarten, my mom told
me to treat and view every single one of my classmates as if they were the most special people in
the world. As a freshman in high school, my dad told me to always follow my gut and to stand up
for what I believe in. I was given perhaps the biggest piece of advice from grandpa during my
freshman year in college. He told me that if I worked hard, then everything would work out in the
end. After completing my first week of my teaching credential program, ... Show more content on

The general consensus amongst them was that my results were an accurate representation of my
strengths as a person. My girlfriend told me that I am always able to see the bright side of things,
even when life seem dim. My positive attitude is able to comfort others when they are not feeling
their best. My little sister told me that I have always been a good listener to her and can really
understand her feelings. While I am able to empathize with most people, I am really able to
understand people that I am familiar with. I will need to continue to develop this strength so I am
able to connect with all of my students. I spoke with a former baseball coach and a former teacher of
mine, and they both told me that my hard work was noticeable and served as a good example for
other players and students. I am hopeful that I will be able to show the value of hard work. Finally,
the last person that I revealed my StrengthsQuest results to was my mom. She agreed that being a
developer was definitely one of my strengths, and I had echoed that ability since I was a little kid.
While I have developed all of my strengths over time, I will need to continue to maximize them in

Personal Narrative: My Strengths Of Me
Coming to college, I have discovered many strengths and weaknesses about myself that I didn't
know existed. Adjusting to living in a dorm is tricky, especially living with someone I barely know.
When I really thought about it, the strengths and weaknesses about my personality never occurred.
After taking a quiz on the Strengthsquest website, my results on the themes given to me were
shocking yet obvious. The five dominant themes of strength and/or talents I was given listed as:
empathy, developer, activator, individualization, and relator.
First let me explain empathy. "You can sense the emotions of those around you." That right there is
100 percent true. If anyone knows me, they would say that I am empathetic. I'm the type of person
that can feel when someone is sad. I can feel when someone has a problem or is mad at me. Even if
someone doesn't show it I can tell when they really are passionate about something. I can
understand people by putting myself in their place. "This instinctive ability to understand is
powerful." An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It's called a developer. Every individual is a work in progress and I motivate them so they do well in
what they want to achieve. "Over time many will seek you out for help and encouragement because
on some level they know that your helpfulness is both genuine and fulfilling to you." My major is
psychology and in ways this strength is helpful to have. People come to me for advice or help
because they believe that I genuinely want to. "You look for ways to challenge them." My friend
here at SDSU is in a writing class for students that need extra help or as she put it "the dumb class."
She hated it and so I challenged her and said, "Why don't you try and test out of it?" After that she
scheduled an appointment to test out of the class. She called me over when she was done and told
me she passed. I motivate others for a reason because seeing their face when they succeed is

Personal Strengths And Weaknesses
My second strength is to seek first to understand, then be understood. There was a time in my life
that this section would have been a low scoring section for me. I was once a person that would never
put myself into the position of another to fully establish a connection of understanding from the
other persons point of view, I was too busy. Now I have "individualized consideration" and I think
age and career choices are the reasons why. In an article by B. Wilson, (2003–2005), he writes that
"Stephen Covey, as others, believes that the only way to establish communication in some
professional and personal situations is by becoming, in small part, the person you are listening to". I
make every attempt to do that exact procedure when employees come to me with problems or
concerns. I'm no longer impatiently waiting on them to finish their story but now I put myself in
their shoes. It's important for the staff to feel as though they can come to me with issues and this is
where the idealized influence and individual consideration come into play. Listening to the staff and
genuinely caring about them makes for a more pleasant work environment, happier employees, and
appreciative people. My third strength is Synergy. This actually caught me by surprise, a little.
Synergy is achieved my maximizing the driving forces, minimizing the restraining forces, and
combining strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals that no one else
could have done alone,

Personal Narrative: Capitalize On Your Strengths
Capitalize On Your Strengths
Like many kids, I wanted to be a veterinarian.
That is, until I was nine and fainted at the sight of my own blood when I cut my finger.
That was my first lesson in the fallacy of following a passion versus following something you're
good at. No matter how much I loved animals and cared for their wellbeing, I couldn't (and still
can't) stand the sight of blood without getting light–headed in record time.
On the other hand, I've always been good at talking to people and solving their problems, and that
talent is the basis of what I do today.
The point is that one of the greatest sources of personal satisfaction is utilizing a strength and
making a difference with it, because that strength represents the best version ... Show more content

It's not representative of reality. Often our passions are areas we don't have a great deal of
experience with, and are just something that sounds like something we would like. This is idealizing
something and putting it on a pedestal. Naturally, if you don't have deep experience in something
and have only seen the positives, it will be attractive. It's like looking at a picture of people on top of
a mountain. They look great in the picture, but that photograph has only captured a glorious final
moment; it does not show the grueling 20–mile hike and 5,000 foot rise in elevation it took to get
there.
Third, passion ignores talents and strength. You can be as passionate about tennis as you want, but
you still may not have the talent to be a good player. Even at the top level, there are professional
players who will never rise above a certain plateau because they lack the talent. It's entirely possible
to be seduced by the notion of passion and toil away for years without any real progress,
improvement, or results.
At some point, it becomes clear that capitalizing on your talents and strength will always set you
apart from the pack in whatever you choose to do. If you want next–level results, and to live to your
full potential, you should capitalize on your

Personal Narrative: My Fourth Strength
My first strength is discipline which fits me because I set up routines, know deadlines, and am a
perfectionist. My second strength is futuristic because I focus on my future a lot, everything that I
am doing in my life is going towards the goals I have for my future. My third strength is achiever
because I like to achieve at things and do everything in my life to the best of my abilities. My fourth
strength is deliberative because I am very careful with my personal life, so I am very private and
cautious. My last strength is responsibility because if I have a task that needs to be complete I am

Personal Inventory
In general, what do you consider some of your personal strengths? Of what interpersonal
skills/abilities are you proud? A personal strength of mine is collaborating well with others. Also,
when engaging with another individual, I am able to have patience as well as be an attentive listener.
These qualities are important in the field of OT because teamwork is the best approach. Finding the
answers to the problems is not going to be independently based all the time. Colleagues help each
other out by combining unique ideas in order to come up with the best possible solution. While
working with the patient, it is important to have the skill of being a good listener because hearing
why they are there and what they are struggling with is necessary for assessing the situation in order
to help him/her in the best way. Also, a patient is not going to be completely cured after one session
of OT, so possessing patience throughout the entire process is a key factor that all OT's should work
towards.

I am very proud of the progress that I have made thus far as it has helped me to work better in a
group setting in Chemistry and in other classes. While the growth I had experienced has been
noticed by my group members, I still have multiple areas to improve upon before the end of the
year.
The only section that I did not receive any feedback from was the integrity section. Next semester I
hope to receive feedback from this section because I know that I have a very strong sense of
integrity, I just need to learn how to convey that to the other members of my group through my work
in class. I can build in this area by focusing more on the learning of others in my group instead of
my own. While I did receive feedback on having a positive attitude, I didn't receive any feedback
specifically on how I treated others. One way that I could improve in this area would be to ask
questions to make sure that the others in the group are understanding the content before moving on.
In addition, I could make sure that everyone's voices are being heard and valued even if they are
conveying a different perspective or opinion that the others in the group. I think that if I implement
these simple strategies that I will be able to experience personal growth in this section. However,

I also do this so that I can learn from that teammate how to see the big picture so that I can improve
myself. Also, I have never been confident with my grammar skills throughout my life. Some of the
most frustrating moments in both my educational or professional career have been times when I was
given a writing assignment with vague criteria. I have wasted many hours writing and rewriting an
assignment because I did not feel I had the ability to produce anything worth reading. Like any skill,
the only way to improve one's grammar skills is to practice as much as possible and to get as much
input as you can. So whenever I do an assignment, I will always have coworkers, classmates,
friends, or family members look it over to see if they can see something I missed. Recently, I have
also been using the University of Phoenix's Center for Writing Excellence to help me sharpen my
grammar skills. My last weakness that I will discuss is my interpersonal skills. I would not say that I
have poor interpersonal skills in general; I just tend to lack confidence when dealing with new
people. I tend to be quiet around new people and have miscommunications when I do speak with
people for the first time. Interpersonal skills, like any skills, will only improve with practice and
feed back. One nice aspect of my current position is that it requires me to speak with new people on
a daily basis to accomplish my job

My Personal Strengths
Personal strengths are abilities, talents, and characteristics that God has given us. Psalm 139:14
says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know
that full well". God has given everyone amazing characteristics that most people would describe
them as. Even though most people don't like talking about their own positive characteristics, we all
have amazing gifts and talents. When I was talking to my friends, they gave me three characteristics
that they see in me. The abilities that God has blessed me with are, a strong athlete, a good friend,
and servant–hearted. I have thought about what these mean to me and I am going to describe each of
them. To begin, most people say that I am a strong athlete. I love to run and do gymnastics. I have
been doing gymnastics for a very long time. Even though I am not competing this season, I am
working hard to get my level 8 skills. One of these skills is a roundoff–backhandspring–full. Also,
without a doubt, I love to run. I have been trying to run almost every day to keep up my speed. I am
only good at long distance running, but I love to run any distance. Even though most people say
running is tiring and not very fun, I enjoy it a lot. I will finally get to run cross country this year,
which I am very excited about! I even have been practicing soccer to see if I like it. Some of my
athletic interests are gymnastics, soccer, and running. Additionally, I have often been described as a

Greatest Personal Strength
My greatest personal strength is being committed in basketball or studying. What if I was a person
who was never committed in these things? I would be a totally new human being! Also, I would
have to go through many hard times. That would make life miserable. I have always been
committed to basketball. Every night I would go to the basketball courts and shoot. Also, I would try
to mimic players like LeBron James off of Youtube. If I was never committed to basketball I would
be at home doing nothing. That would be an unhealthy life to live. That is because I wouldn't be able
to exercise or interact with my friends that also play the game I love. Also, if I was never committed
to basketball, I would have a stressful day. I know this for

Personal Strengths And Personal Types
You have people all around the world and none of them are the same. You have people with high
tempers, you got the lazy people that don't ever do anything, and the over achievers and everyone is
about in the middle of those three. I have taken a personality test and learned that I have an
Executive personality type, if you do not know what that means I am like the boss in a business.
This trait is held by less than 11% of the population. I am stubborn, organized, and judgmental.
My personality showed that one of my weaknesses is stubbornness, for example "they are reluctant
to trust other opinions" . Sometimes being stubborn can be helpful and other times it can be hurtful,
for example if you want to go over to your friends house but your mom says no sometimes if you
keep trying she might say yes. Or like the other times she gets annoyed and tells you to go away.
There are three things that being stubborn makes harder for me: trying to be flexible, getting along
with my parents, and shopping. Trying to be flexible is hard because if my mom makes something
for dinner that I don't really like or that I just am not feeling, I will eat cereal or somethings else.
Another reason is trying to get along with my parents, because I always think that I am right and
they are wrong. For example if I want to go over to a friends house and they say no I give them
reasons why I should go. Then last shopping is especially hard because one I am stubborn so I don't
settle. Being stubborn

Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats Strengths Introverted: I am considered to be an
introverted person. I mostly prefer to spend time alone than with others or in groups. However I
love to work with other people. Working with other people can allows me to learn new things, but
most of all I live to think. Thinking not only requires me to develop deeper thoughts by reflecting
internally but it requires me to listen to others when they speak. This may allow me to come off
quite in most cases but really it offers me more room to think critically. Creative: Being creative is a
valid way I have learned to express my emotions, experiences, trials and tribulations. My creativity
has allowed me to share my inner thoughts and feelings with the people around me in a way that has
allowed them to understand who I truly am. I have used my creativity to help people see different

Being open–minded creates opportunity and freedom. When I am open–minded I am able to let go
of the control of my actions and thoughts. I am able to experience change and make mistakes.
Making mistakes leaves room for improvement and wisdom. Most importantly I am able to see
things in life from different perspectives other than my own. Weaknesses Lack of Confidence: Over
time I have constantly struggled with having confidence in myself. I am learning that having
confidence can make you feel better about yourself and I'm learning that I perform much better
when I have confidence. I have all the tools it takes to be successful I just have to remember the
importance of confidence despite my downfalls. Improvement: I am constantly learning ways I can

are okay and everyone makes them. Continuing to trust myself is one the main ways I can learn to

Personal Narrative: My Personal Strength
Have you ever thought about your personal strengths? A few of my personal strengths are that I am
a good lacrosse player, am a good leader, and a good thinker. I have played lacrosse since second
grade. For my leadership, I was selected to be the Zion house leader. I always find loopholes and
additionally, different connections to things, this is my strength in thinking. These are a few of my
personal strengths. Indeed, I am good at lacrosse. I have played for 7 years for about 3 seasons a
year. A few years back, although I didn't do much, I was on a 15–year–old team in the spring and a
16–year–old team in the summer. This year I started almost every game out of the about 40 I played
in. Also, at home, I practice a lot and continue to keep working and improve my skill. For this
upcoming season, I have been told that I am going to be maybe the top player and at least a leader
on the Dunwoody High feeder team due to me being an Eighth grader. After this, I hope to be able
to make the Dunwoody Varsity team and maybe even start due to there being a shortage of players

My Personal Strengths And Strengths
Trying to decide what your personal strengths are, is hard. For myself, I have grown in my
strengths, and I've experienced my weaknesses. My personal strengths consist of: positivity,
encouragement, laughter, and love. I pick these four because I feel that I am truly strongest in these
aspects of my life. Being positive is a big factor in everything I do. I always want to be happy and
joyful; not only to display Christ in me, but to make others feel the way I do. I want others to
appreciate life and to feel any kind of uplift in his or her spirt. Positivity plays into encouragement. I
make it my goal to make others feel better about themselves. My goal coming into college was to
learn and know every person(s) name that I got the chance to meet. Just taking a few minutes out of
your day to truly get to know someone, is such a blessing. It not only blesses me in new friendships,
but it also blesses others because they feel that someone genuinely cares about them. Laughter is
another characteristic I strive to pour out onto others. I laugh at practically everything. I love to
laugh, and I love to make people laugh. I've learned the importance of laughter, and I just want to
make one person smile every day. Love is my last of the four attributes. Love is so important to me.
I love creation (Trees, birds, squirrels), God, and I love people. I just want the love that God has
given me, to pour out onto others. I want others to know that I love them. These are my personal

Abstract
The Personal Strengths Program (PSP) is a program that assists students with learning disabilities
such as, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disabilities (LD). The study
uses a baseline design. According to Cameto, Knokey and Sanford those who go on to attend
college with these learning disabilities has increased. The study follows seven college students with
such learning disabilities. It investigates self–determination of college students who have ADHD
and/or LD. These students are compared to their peers who don't have learning disabilities. Those

The students had to be currently taking college courses. Out of the seven students, five were
undergraduates and the other two were gradates. The study was made to be completed within one
semester, instead of dragging it out into other semesters. The students were set to work on strategies
that they were taught within their PSP sessions to help them reach their weekly goal. For the time
series data the students were asked three questions, and to rate them. One being none or never, ten
being complete. "1. In the past 24 hours, what level of control do you feel over your life outside
school to do what you want? 2. In the past 24 hours, what level of control do you feel over your life
inside school to do what you want? 3. In the past 24 hours, how often do you feel you thought about
your behaviors and actions in relation to what happens in your life?" (p. 7) According to Wehmeyer
and Field, the questions were to explore characteristics of self–determination.
The Self–Determination Student Scale (SDSS) was given during the time series data questions. The
SDSS was given before the study, after three sessions and after PSP was completed. After the PSP
was completed, all students were interviewed to see if the study was a valid

Personal Assessment Of Strengths And Areas For Development
What did you learn about your leadership? Personal Assessment of Strengths and Areas for
Development. I have more than one overdone strengths. One of them is over–optimism about
people, organization, and trust in the management team. Whether it's upper level, or middle
management, I always feel that they know the best, and they know what they are doing. I only see
that everything is done accurately as they are versus how they could or should be. Remaining loyal
to others and the organization does cause issues for me, because others don't normally see it that
way. Trying to make things easier for others, or trying to be less of a burden on others is perceived
as I have no backbone of myself. Defending the rights of others is seen as I'm just always siding
with the others. Ensuring others are valued is seen as what do I need from them. Being sincere is
seen as I don't know what I'm doing, and am very easy to please, so I can be ignored. Involve family
and friends to point out to me when I'm over using my strengths. This will make me aware of what I
really need to concentrate on. This will help me focus and align my strengths on the needs of
everyone, and the organization, and concentrate on other people who have complementary strengths.
Realization that my overdone strengths could in fact be detrimental to not only my progress, but
also others. In general, overdoing it may hurt my effectiveness just as much as underdoing it. I have
to be more cognizance of how others are

Like leaving a legacy, the program will live with you as an experience your whole life, and will

at for 30 years and he bakes fresh bread. Once a day for the whole camp, and one day I went into the
kitchen and Frank was talking about how in scouts when you turn 18 you're now an adult. Most
people consider this the term "aging out", but Frank said that the biggest load of crap he's ever
heard, There's no such thing as "aging out "you only move on to a different part of scouting. And he
said you never outgrow scouts. You just move on to a different part. First you followed, then you
lead, and then you guide, once you're 18 all you do is guide where you're hands off and in for the
ride. Frank showed me that day that every program or organization I'm in I'll never outgrow it,
because what I do while in that organization. Shapes those who come after me, and then what I do
after shows those to come what to do afterward there done the

Personal Aspects Of Personal Strengths
Have you ever experienced something that changed your outlook on life? Personal strength is
realizing you are at low times, but finding the positives even when it seems like nothing will get
better. During times of weakness, I struggled with finding hope and strength within myself. Personal
strength defines us as individuals. Because I experienced the loss of a good friend, and the divorce
of my parents at a young age, I was able to find personal strength.
Through the support of my friends and family, I was able to find personal strength after the loss of a
dear friend. In October of 2016, all of my friends and loved ones received the horrible news that our
friend had been in a horrible car accident. On October 15th, 2016 our blue–eyed, blonde and
beautiful friend had passed away at only sixteen years old. Through this horrific time, it became
very hard for me, my peers, and my family to find strength. When we heard the news, our hearts
ached, our bodies trembled and our minds shut down. I simply felt nothing, but pain and sadness.
This hardship became very hard to stay positive and keep hope for better things to come in the
future. Finding strength soon became easier because I was not alone. I was not the only one trying to
cope with the loss. We all supported each other through this hard time. The support from my friends
and family, for we were all struggling together made it easier to find personal strength.
Because I realized that I was not alone, I was able to find

What are your strengths? My strengths include working in a fast paced environment. I am also
skilled in working with both large and small teams. I am also skilled in solving challenging

10 7. I say seven because there are programs that I am not familiar with. I am proficient, however, in
Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and some in Excel. How quickly do you adapt to change? Example? I
adapt fairly quickly to change. When I was working at S–Mart Foods, we had to rearrange the
shelves in each aisle to bring in new product and it made it harder to find items. After hours I spent
time learning the location of basic items in each aisle. If you weren't going to go into law, what

Personal Strengths Analysis
Personal strengths are attributes that come naturally and easy to yourself. When I think of my own
personal strengths I think of determination, leadership, and passion. When I become determined, the
stubborn inside my head becomes triggered. I become almost obsessive of completing whatever task
perfectly and come up with almost a blueprint on how to finish it. For example, I became
determined on becoming this years band captain. I pushed myself beyond my limits and I made sure
Mr. Oubre was watching. I would make sure the effort I put into the marching band was returned. I
perfected my music and marching despite the obstacle I had last semester, that obstacle being I did
not have band class because of schedule conflicts. I held high expectations and responsibility within
myself and the section I was looking over. Another example would be something smaller than
gaining a title in marching band, such as cleaning my room. A typical teenager would probably just

when doing interviews to have a leadership position in marching band, we were asked "Which three

Personal Strengths
Dependable
I believe that being a dependable team member is one of the most important qualities in any
institutional setting, but more so in a Christian school because it represents one of the core
characteristics of God: his faithfulness. God is always there for us no matter what. He keeps his
promises. He is trustworthy. He is faithful. So we can depend on him. Others should regard
Christian school administrator or a member as someone who knows what he is doing, is capable and
prompt, does not make excuses or blames others, can be trusted to keep promises as well as secrets,
and says what he means and does what he says.
I have a view of myself as a dependable person. People around me agree with that notion in general.
Family members and coworkers usually tell me that they have confidence in and count on me to get
the job done when a certain duty or responsibility calls. Once before, a group of us worked on a
grant proposal at the school and needed to have a certain student data included in the proposal
before the deadline which was coming up very quickly. I made every effort to collect and analyze
necessary data, and the proposal was ready before the deadline.
I selected dependability as one of my strong qualities because of my strong sense of responsibility
and work ethics and also because of other peoples' opinions of me. They usually view me as
someone whom they can trust, come to share their problems and burdens and count on when they
encounter difficult situations.
Prepared
Being proactive is always better than being reactive. Some of the quotes from the book, " The man
who is prepared has his battle half fought" by Sevantes, and another one from Henry Ford " Before
everything else, getting ready is the secret of success" cannot be truer for a school administrator.
Nobody would respect and want someone who never or haphazardly prepare for a meeting, project,
assignment, or responsibility on their team. An Unpreparedness brings the whole team down and
prevents team members from being effective and accomplishing what they set out to.
God is a preparer, and he asks us to be prepared as well. God prepared a salvation plan for humanity
from the beginning. He asked Noah to prepare for

Personal Strengths Essay

  • 1. Personal Strengths Essay Business – HR Management Portfolio (PFHM) "Strengths Essay" Ljame17 – Student ID 000290423 Each of us possess personal characteristic strengths that makes each of us unique. As individuals these strengths allow us to add value to all of our relationships both personally and professionally. For many of us, we can recognize the characteristics and how they add value to lives, unfortunately though many of us will struggle voicing these strengths openly during job interviews, performance evaluations, or team meetings. One of the first challenges is to understand that we are all lifelong learners and it is through these experiences that we develop these strengths which allows us to become an essential part of a relationship whether it is a personal or professional relationship. As within the realm of a Human Resource Professional the ability to recognize these strengths in people we must also recognize them within ourselves so that we may leverage those skills to advocate for both the employee and the organization. Throughout my life, my strengths have tended to gain more clarity and centered on my profession because form many of the majority of our time is spent there. Some of my personal characteristics that will bring value and strength to any organization are: organization, communication, the ability to be discrete and ethical, conflict management/problem solving and change management. As in many organization HR management requires a very orderly approach. Throughout my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. personal strengths Essay Personal Strengths and Weaknesses A reason that this country works well is that everyone has diverse abilities which can contribute to everyday life. Some people let those abilities shine at work, in their personal life or both. As people have their strengths, they also have their weaknesses. There is a problem to improve those weaknesses when the weakness is not identified. Once the weak point is identified it needs to be resolved. A plan of action for improvement helps in solving the situation. In this paper, I will identify abilities and skills that I possess that contribute positively in my work environment, in my personal life, and in my learning team. I will also identify personal areas that need improvement, and outline a plan of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acquiring a better understanding of these qualities will help me get closer to graduating and obtaining my Bachelor's of Business Management. Professionally, I have the ability to track different projects at different times. The ability to track different projects simultaneously has been very helpful when trying to work on a deadline. Many employers describe it as "multi–tasking". Everyday has the potential for drastic workplace or school environment change. Working on different types of assignments weekly has taught me to adapt my skills in a variety of different work situations. Another of my stronger qualities is my physical ability. I have always been in touch with that side of myself. I figure if I can't pull my own weight, I will be useless. Being a Marine makes me concentrate on that aspect day in and day out. We often have competitions of various things just to keep it interesting. I really can't imagine myself without physical training. The last quality that enhances my personality is structured organization. I provide strength and confidence to my peers and team members in times of unpredicted situations. I try to remain calm, so I can provide direction. A team needs a person they can look up to for guidance and support for work or school issues. Since I will be working with teams throughout this program at the University of Phoenix Online, this would be one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Personal Strengths Analysis 1– The strengths that I believe to possess would be understanding my emotions of my friends and myself. I have always been in touch with what I am feeling and I hope to be a friend that can be called upon in times of need. I also believe that I am quite easy going and am always up to socialise which is also a strength that my friends would associate with me also. I hope that these strengths provide me with the relevant skills that a good person and friend possess, which is what I strive to be. 2– The main weakness that I encounter largely throughout my life would be stress management. I encountered stress a lot as a child and it has continued to take over me sometimes even as a young adult. I struggle to talk about my stress to others which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To put it simply being a good friend and person is something that will always be the biggest goal of mine. To obtain this life mission I will have to first learn to keep myself happy and satisfied. Trying to help and understand others would be a near impossible feat if I were unable to deal with my own emotions first. I believe that I have the right skills and values to keep my emotions stable with also helping the people I care about as well. Some specific goals that I wish to obtain on my "life mission" would be to firstly finish my university degree. Family and friends have always stressed the importance of schooling, and I always set my eyes on finishing university and joining the workforce. Through getting my degree hopefully in the project management sector, this will enable me to land a job in which I am respected and welcomed. To make sure that this goal does not end bottoms up, I will need to dedicate myself to my studies, certainly more then I currently am. I have never had a real issue with time management as I have always been able to get my work in on time, however it does not come without stress. From my pre and post personal edge assessment test's the self–management area is severely disassociated with my results which is something I could look into. By managing self–management issues such as stress and time management. These areas effect my day to day life heavily and in order to succeed with my life mission, managing these aspects is vital. To measure my success, making goals and analysing my progress will go a long way in attaining what I set out to do. Monitoring my progress frequently will enable me to analyse what path I am on and how happy I am with it. An example of this was in 2015 when I was undertaking a university course in which I did not feel I belonged. I analysed my situation and realised that this was not where I wanted to be and I made ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Personal Narrative: My Five Strengths My five strengths are deliberative, intellection, context, restorative, and learner. The strengths are generally broad enough to represent me. The five traits go from a very adequate representation to a rather loose representation of myself. I agree with most of what is stated in the Gallup's StrengthsFinder, but there are certain inherent flaws in the generalization of my person which I do not agree with. The strongest representation of my personality in this test is "deliberative". I am a very private and careful person. I do not like taking risks unless I am well informed on the pros and cons of the action. I do not allow myself to be very carefree in a sense. I prefer to keep a small circle of friends, and in short I am a very reserved person. This is an exact representation of my personality. I am an introvert, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I like thinking. The test was right that my thoughts may lack focus. Sometimes I find that I think too much and overwhelm myself. I flood my mind with other things that make me uneasy. I like introspection because it helps with understanding what needs to be improved. On a similar theme, the "context" trait keeps me grounded. I have a very logical mind. I believe in cause and effect. It is true that I follow my path to see how I ended up in that certain position. I don't think I live in the past as they mentioned. I see it as a reflection of where I have been. Most importantly I see it as a way to measure where I am going. Another trait I don't quite agree with is the "restorative" theme. I like challenges and solving problems. I don't think it is one of my biggest qualities as a human. I think they generalized my responses to mean that I am running around looking for problems. I prefer to be more reserved, and if I find myself right to the task I will surely help. I think I am a bit too humble to think that I resuscitated or saved anything in my ... • 5. Personal Strengths Upon receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Haskayne School of Business (HSB), I aspire to graduate with marks of excellence. Through constant perseverance, I aim to increase my communication skills to make me an excellent team player and become a reliable leader. As a result, I will have a vast network of business contacts. I have a variety of strengths which include being a hard worker, being determined, showing commitment, being a quick thinker and being adaptable to any situation. These strengths constantly push me towards success. Hard work and determination allow me to expand my boundaries and attain my goals. In the past, I have used these strengths to complete the toughest course I took in high school with an average of 90%. Moreover, my high levels of commitment to any activity that I participate in is also an asset. In fact, I have been privileged to mentor younger children at my temple, dedicating 2 hours to them every Sunday. When faced with problems, being a quick thinker, allows me to think critically and solve issues with efficiency. Adaptability in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These improvements include, having anxiety, lack of confidence, procrastination, having poor vocabulary skills, and lastly, I attempt to please everyone in a group setting. Firstly, when I am in front of a large audience I tend to forget certain aspects of my presentation. This leads to a lack of confidence. I also procrastinate with assignments and miss the details of the task as I am rushed to complete all aspects of it before the deadline. In addition, a lack in confidence of my abilities leads to doubt within myself. Therefore, I go to a group of peers to assist me in completing my assignments. • 6. Personal Strengths In Leadership I am a hands–on team leader. I like to get everyone involved and utilize the assets each one has. The more involved people are in the process, the more committed they will be to the cause. There are many benefits for the community and ministry to use a team leadership style. Looking at my past leadership roles, I have always been a hands–on coach. The style I use is not to tell them how to do it, rather I would participate alongside them working just as they were. My philosophy has always been not to ask someone to do something I wouldn't or can't. I do not like to tell, I'd rather demonstrate by doing what is required of the others. I believe I foster goodwill by being one of many rather than being one leading many. 4) What are your personal strengths in leadership? (2 points) I have management experience, I coach youth basketball and football, and raise two children. These facets require a team effort. I try hard to listen, praise, ask for input, and remain humble. I like delegating, giving others space and freedom to accomplish their task. I'm a gifted problem solver and I like to handle conflicts. I make these talents available to all I work with. I like to give recognition, even consider myself to be a cheerleader. 5) What are your personal weaknesses in leadership? (2 points) Paying attention to the details of other people's lives. • 7. Personal Strengths Yoga? I'm Down, Dog Under all normal circumstances, a field full of children lying motionless in a field would be cause for alarm, however this particular scene occurred under the best circumstances. On a balmy October day in 2010, a group of girls reclined blissfully in Savasana beneath a whispering willow tree as the last cotton wood tufts drifted in the breeze. I'd been going to the Boys & Girls Club every day afterschool for about a month. One afternoon, a volunteer guided a group through a basic yoga class. Although it was probably only 30 minutes in length, it would serve as the catalyst for one of the most important chapters in my life. Little did I know it would eventually lead to my yoga teacher certification and beyond! Following my first post–yoga–bliss, I became hooked. The afterschool leader, Sarah, could place her full palm on the ground while I could barely touch my toes. She inspired me; she was an adult who truly inhabited her body. As a freshman, I began attending classes at a local yoga studio. They were a disaster at first. I felt totally lost in the fast–paced environment. I didn't have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not in every aspect of life, but as a service to others through sharing personal strengths. Although generally a confident person, I experienced many normal aspects of youth such as insecurities, and the tendency to follow adults. This was a challenge I faced (and conquered) during my teacher training. I was by far the youngest of the class. Who was I to guide a seasoned and wise 60–year– old? Everything "clicked" when I realized my youth and inexperience did not diminish my value as a teacher. I walked into my final evaluation with nervous butterflies and a chant in my head of "you've got this!" After all, the wise yogi knows they have unimaginable potential for growth, while a foolish yogi assumes they are an expert. Growth, not perfection has become my highest goal in ... • 8. My Personal Strengths During the past few months while taking Professionalism and Design I've learned many things I didn't know before. In the beginning I always thought that this class was just a waste of time but while I was actually learning, paying attention, and using the time that was given to us. In the beginning of the semester, we all took a survey on survey monkey that gave us our top 5 strengths. My top 5 strengths were learner, restorative, individualization, achiever, and focus. Using these trying to find a career will be easy and also being able to use others strengths to be able to grow my weakness. Not only was I able to use my strengths to find a career I wanted to pursue in but it was my strengths helping me with athletics, school, and my personal life. These strengths and values encouraged and pushed me to help others. For others who see my strengths as their weaknesses, it also gives us a chance to help eachother have a better understanding and help turn our weaknesses into our strengths. After I had gotten a chance to clearly analyze my strengths, I made a list including my strengths on how I have used them in the past, how I use them today, and how I am planning on using them in the future. When I did this, it helped me and pushed me to become more proactive and taught me how to use them with consistency, productivity, and efficiency. • 9. Personal Narrative: My Top Five Strengths My first authentic reaction when being presented my top five strengths was both reassured and contented. Looking through my results, I always felt a sense that I dabble more on an analytic level in comparison to other divisions that relate to different strengths. However, I was underwhelmed when I saw my top strength being achiever. Although is diverges from my other strengths, I've always known I've tried my hardest in any situation I am given and hope to receive a good result in the end. Each of my strengths carries a distinct denotation to one another, but they all reflect a part of who I am. When it comes to achiever, it means that I have a willingness and a drive to complete a task to get an overall achievement, and without any form of accomplishment, I feel some dissatisfaction. Input follows a different idea and goes on to represent that I am responsive to gather new information and items that will expand my mind that may hold value later in life. Ideation is like input as it signifies that I am infatuated with ideas and information. It states that I take these ideas and put my own creativity into them to make ... • 10. Personal Strengths In Psychology What are your strengths? My strengths that involve Psychology is the natural way I can interact with other people and be able to completely somehow relate with how they are feeling but at the same time offer constructive advice. What are your weaknesses? My weakness in the Psychology field is I will rarely but sometimes take someone's problems too personal and try my hardest to fix it. Why do you want this job? I really want this job to be able to work with others while being able to learn from their mistakes while they learn from mine. What do you know about this company/industry? A time where i felt I went above and beyond was when I was working at the restaurant and a lady came in with a bunch of kids and I could tell she was really tired. She ordered for herself and shared with her kids, she was short on money so i reached into my pocket and paid the difference for her. She was appreciative. • 11. Strengths: A Personal Analysis Ever since I was a child, I have had a strong bond with my family. I have always felt that I could talk to my parents and grandparents about anything. Over the years, they have given me advice that I have always taken to heart. When I was five years old and going into kindergarten, my mom told me to treat and view every single one of my classmates as if they were the most special people in the world. As a freshman in high school, my dad told me to always follow my gut and to stand up for what I believe in. I was given perhaps the biggest piece of advice from grandpa during my freshman year in college. He told me that if I worked hard, then everything would work out in the end. The general consensus amongst them was that my results were an accurate representation of my strengths as a person. My girlfriend told me that I am always able to see the bright side of things, even when life seem dim. My positive attitude is able to comfort others when they are not feeling their best. My little sister told me that I have always been a good listener to her and can really understand her feelings. While I am able to empathize with most people, I am really able to understand people that I am familiar with. I will need to continue to develop this strength so I am able to connect with all of my students. I spoke with a former baseball coach and a former teacher of mine, and they both told me that my hard work was noticeable and served as a good example for other players and students. I am hopeful that I will be able to show the value of hard work. Finally, the last person that I revealed my StrengthsQuest results to was my mom. • 12. Personal Narrative: My Strengths Of Me Coming to college, I have discovered many strengths and weaknesses about myself that I didn't know existed. Adjusting to living in a dorm is tricky, especially living with someone I barely know. When I really thought about it, the strengths and weaknesses about my personality never occurred. After taking a quiz on the Strengthsquest website, my results on the themes given to me were shocking yet obvious. The five dominant themes of strength and/or talents I was given listed as: empathy, developer, activator, individualization, and relator. First let me explain empathy. "You can sense the emotions of those around you." That right there is 100 percent true. If anyone knows me, they would say that I am empathetic. I'm the type of person that can feel when someone is sad. I can feel when someone has a problem or is mad at me. Even if someone doesn't show it I can tell when they really are passionate about something. I can understand people by putting myself in their place. "This instinctive ability to understand is powerful." An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's called a developer. My major is psychology and in ways this strength is helpful to have. People come to me for advice or help because they believe that I genuinely want to. "You look for ways to challenge them." My friend here at SDSU is in a writing class for students that need extra help or as she put it "the dumb class." She hated it and so I challenged her and said, "Why don't you try and test out of it?" After that she scheduled an appointment to test out of the class. • 13. Personal Strengths And Weaknesses My second strength is to seek first to understand, then be understood. There was a time in my life that this section would have been a low scoring section for me. I was once a person that would never put myself into the position of another to fully establish a connection of understanding from the other persons point of view, I was too busy. Now I have "individualized consideration" and I think age and career choices are the reasons why. In an article by B. Wilson, (2003–2005), he writes that "Stephen Covey, as others, believes that the only way to establish communication in some professional and personal situations is by becoming, in small part, the person you are listening to". I make every attempt to do that exact procedure when employees come to me with problems or concerns. I'm no longer impatiently waiting on them to finish their story but now I put myself in their shoes. It's important for the staff to feel as though they can come to me with issues and this is where the idealized influence and individual consideration come into play. Listening to the staff and genuinely caring about them makes for a more pleasant work environment, happier employees, and appreciative people. My third strength is Synergy. This actually caught me by surprise, a little. Synergy is achieved my maximizing the driving forces, minimizing the restraining forces, and combining strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals that no one else could have done alone, ... • 14. Personal Narrative: Capitalize On Your Strengths Capitalize On Your Strengths Like many kids, I wanted to be a veterinarian. That is, until I was nine and fainted at the sight of my own blood when I cut my finger. That was my first lesson in the fallacy of following a passion versus following something you're good at. No matter how much I loved animals and cared for their wellbeing, I couldn't (and still can't) stand the sight of blood without getting light–headed in record time. On the other hand, I've always been good at talking to people and solving their problems, and that talent is the basis of what I do today. The point is that one of the greatest sources of personal satisfaction is utilizing a strength and making a difference with it, because that strength represents the best version ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's not representative of reality. Often our passions are areas we don't have a great deal of experience with, and are just something that sounds like something we would like. This is idealizing something and putting it on a pedestal. Naturally, if you don't have deep experience in something and have only seen the positives, it will be attractive. It's like looking at a picture of people on top of a mountain. They look great in the picture, but that photograph has only captured a glorious final moment; it does not show the grueling 20–mile hike and 5,000 foot rise in elevation it took to get there. Third, passion ignores talents and strength. You can be as passionate about tennis as you want, but you still may not have the talent to be a good player. Even at the top level, there are professional players who will never rise above a certain plateau because they lack the talent. It's entirely possible to be seduced by the notion of passion and toil away for years without any real progress, improvement, or results. At some point, it becomes clear that capitalizing on your talents and strength will always set you apart from the pack in whatever you choose to do. A personal strength of mine is collaborating well with others. Also, when engaging with another individual, I am able to have patience as well as be an attentive listener. These qualities are important in the field of OT because teamwork is the best approach. Finding the answers to the problems is not going to be independently based all the time. Colleagues help each other out by combining unique ideas in order to come up with the best possible solution. While working with the patient, it is important to have the skill of being a good listener because hearing why they are there and what they are struggling with is necessary for assessing the situation in order to help him/her in the best way. Next semester I hope to receive feedback from this section because I know that I have a very strong sense of integrity, I just need to learn how to convey that to the other members of my group through my work in class. Some of the most frustrating moments in both my educational or professional career have been times when I was given a writing assignment with vague criteria. I have wasted many hours writing and rewriting an assignment because I did not feel I had the ability to produce anything worth reading. Like any skill, the only way to improve one's grammar skills is to practice as much as possible and to get as much input as you can. So whenever I do an assignment, I will always have coworkers, classmates, friends, or family members look it over to see if they can see something I missed. Recently, I have also been using the University of Phoenix's Center for Writing Excellence to help me sharpen my grammar skills. My last weakness that I will discuss is my interpersonal skills. Psalm 139:14 says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well". God has given everyone amazing characteristics that most people would describe them as. Even though most people don't like talking about their own positive characteristics, we all have amazing gifts and talents. When I was talking to my friends, they gave me three characteristics that they see in me. The abilities that God has blessed me with are, a strong athlete, a good friend, and servant–hearted. I have thought about what these mean to me and I am going to describe each of them. To begin, most people say that I am a strong athlete. I love to run and do gymnastics. I have been doing gymnastics for a very long time. Even though I am not competing this season, I am working hard to get my level 8 skills. One of these skills is a roundoff–backhandspring–full. You have people with high tempers, you got the lazy people that don't ever do anything, and the over achievers and everyone is about in the middle of those three. I have taken a personality test and learned that I have an Executive personality type, if you do not know what that means I am like the boss in a business. This trait is held by less than 11% of the population. I am stubborn, organized, and judgmental. My personality showed that one of my weaknesses is stubbornness, for example "they are reluctant to trust other opinions" . Sometimes being stubborn can be helpful and other times it can be hurtful, for example if you want to go over to your friends house but your mom says no sometimes if you keep trying she might say yes. Or like the other times she gets annoyed and tells you to go away. There are three things that being stubborn makes harder for me: trying to be flexible, getting along with my parents, and shopping. Trying to be flexible is hard because if my mom makes something for dinner that I don't really like or that I just am not feeling, I will eat cereal or somethings else. Another reason is trying to get along with my parents, because I always think that I am right and they are wrong. My personal strengths consist of: positivity, encouragement, laughter, and love. I pick these four because I feel that I am truly strongest in these aspects of my life. Being positive is a big factor in everything I do. I always want to be happy and joyful; not only to display Christ in me, but to make others feel the way I do. I want others to appreciate life and to feel any kind of uplift in his or her spirt. Positivity plays into encouragement. I make it my goal to make others feel better about themselves. I laugh at practically everything. I love to laugh, and I love to make people laugh. I've learned the importance of laughter, and I just want to make one person smile every day. Love is my last of the four attributes. Love is so important to me. I love creation (Trees, birds, squirrels), God, and I love people. The inspiration for this motto is from a guy that is in his mid 80s, I call him Frank the baker, he's worked at the summer camp I work at for 30 years and he bakes fresh bread. Once a day for the whole camp, and one day I went into the kitchen and Frank was talking about how in scouts when you turn 18 you're now an adult. Most people consider this the term "aging out", but Frank said that the biggest load of crap he's ever heard, There's no such thing as "aging out "you only move on to a different part of scouting. And he said you never outgrow scouts. You just move on to a different part. First you followed, then you lead, and then you guide, once you're 18 all you do is guide where you're hands off and in for the ride. Frank showed me that day that every program or organization I'm in I'll never outgrow it, because what I do while in that organization. Shapes those who come after me, and then what I do after shows those to come what to do afterward there done the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Personal Aspects Of Personal Strengths Have you ever experienced something that changed your outlook on life? Personal strength is realizing you are at low times, but finding the positives even when it seems like nothing will get better. During times of weakness, I struggled with finding hope and strength within myself. Personal strength defines us as individuals. Because I experienced the loss of a good friend, and the divorce of my parents at a young age, I was able to find personal strength. Through the support of my friends and family, I was able to find personal strength after the loss of a dear friend. In October of 2016, all of my friends and loved ones received the horrible news that our friend had been in a horrible car accident. On October 15th, 2016 our blue–eyed, blonde and beautiful friend had passed away at only sixteen years old. Through this horrific time, it became very hard for me, my peers, and my family to find strength. When we heard the news, our hearts ached, our bodies trembled and our minds shut down. I simply felt nothing, but pain and sadness. This hardship became very hard to stay positive and keep hope for better things to come in the future. Finding strength soon became easier because I was not alone. I was not the only one trying to cope with the loss. We all supported each other through this hard time. The support from my friends and family, for we were all struggling together made it easier to find personal strength. Because I realized that I was not alone, I was able to find ... • 37. Personal Strengths Analysis My personal strengths are my communication skills and the variety of work experience that I obtain. I believe through these strengths I have been able to achieve the goals I've set out for myself. I have had the opportunity of being a part of a leadership development program called the Jeter's Leaders, where I was able to host an annual social change leadership conference. I was expected to prepare and present an entire workshop about college life in Florida presenting to a group of teenagers and the following year the topic focused on was Bullying and Depression in Chicago. In these conferences, I've been able to enhance my communication skills and through these experiences I will try my absolute best to bring the assets that I've learned ... The primary goal was to make sure that their clients were satisfied because indeed those were the company's customers. Additionally, I also learned that sports management isn't a field that I could see myself working for, even though I absolutely loved my experience there. I am grateful to be able to say in the internships I've participated in thus far I've learned at least one new thing about the kind of career that I am interested in and what kind I am not. I feel as though internships are a great opportunity that helps me get closer and closer to my career aspirations because it helps me figure out what I may or may not want to do as a career for the rest of my life. Overall, I know through the futures and options internship program I will be geared towards an internship with the right guidance and preparation. Hence, the reason why I know that an internship with the Futures and Options program will support my career aspirations due to the five components that I will experience if provided the ... • 38. Personal Strengths Analysis Personal strengths are attributes that come naturally and easy to yourself. When I think of my own personal strengths I think of determination, leadership, and passion. When I become determined, the stubborn inside my head becomes triggered. I become almost obsessive of completing whatever task perfectly and come up with almost a blueprint on how to finish it. For example, I became determined on becoming this years band captain. I pushed myself beyond my limits and I made sure Mr. Oubre was watching. I would make sure the effort I put into the marching band was returned. I perfected my music and marching despite the obstacle I had last semester, that obstacle being I did not have band class because of schedule conflicts. I held high expectations and responsibility within myself and the section I was looking over. Another example would be something smaller than gaining a title in marching band, such as cleaning my room. A typical teenager would probably just pick up whatever is on their floor, maybe even vacuum. The determination to do all or nothing will set in. The floors are ... Some leadership qualities I feel that applies to me are: enthusiasm, confidence, communication, and accountability. My personality in a classroom setting is often reserved and silent, so it surprises me how much I change when I am put into a leadership position. This year when doing interviews to have a leadership position in marching band, we were asked "Which three leaders have changed your life and why?". When this question was asked, many people surprisingly said my name. They said I have a confident aura that demands attention, I have an enthusiastic attitude that spreads to people surrounding me, I never hesitate to ask for help or if anyone else needed help, and I also held myself accountable for ... • 39. Personal Strength Essay Personal Strengths Dependable I believe that being a dependable team member is one of the most important qualities in any institutional setting, but more so in a Christian school because it represents one of the core characteristics of God: his faithfulness. God is always there for us no matter what. He keeps his promises. He is trustworthy. He is faithful. So we can depend on him. Others should regard Christian school administrator or a member as someone who knows what he is doing, is capable and prompt, does not make excuses or blames others, can be trusted to keep promises as well as secrets, and says what he means and does what he says. I have a view of myself as a dependable person. People around me agree with that notion in general. Family members and coworkers usually tell me that they have confidence in and count on me to get the job done when a certain duty or responsibility calls. Once before, a group of us worked on a grant proposal at the school and needed to have a certain student data included in the proposal before the deadline which was coming up very quickly. I made every effort to collect and analyze necessary data, and the proposal was ready before the deadline. I selected dependability as one of my strong qualities because of my strong sense of responsibility and work ethics and also because of other peoples' opinions of me. They usually view me as someone whom they can trust, come to share their problems and burdens and count on when they encounter difficult situations. Prepared Being proactive is always better than being reactive. Some of the quotes from the book, " The man who is prepared has his battle half fought" by Sevantes, and another one from Henry Ford " Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success" cannot be truer for a school administrator. Nobody would respect and want someone who never or haphazardly prepare for a meeting, project, assignment, or responsibility on their team. An Unpreparedness brings the whole team down and prevents team members from being effective and accomplishing what they set out to. God is a preparer, and he asks us to be prepared as well. God prepared a salvation plan for humanity from the beginning. He asked Noah to prepare for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
