This document is a personal skills audit for Cherry that evaluates their skills used in a previous media production and plans for how to further develop those skills in an upcoming A2 project. Cherry used Photoshop, Final Cut, Garage Band, iMovie, Soundtrack, and Livetype as well as a camcorder to create their previous production. They plan to make a music video for their A2 project to improve their camera, editing, sound editing, and other post-production skills. Cherry's previous planning and research such as analyzing horror film conventions helped their previous production go smoothly and they plan similar planning for their music video. They aim to be creative in their new project by adding special elements to make it unique.

I am going to make a music
video in my A2 media study as
a course work. Through making
the music video , I can improve
my camera skills by shooting
clips ; improve my editing skills
by editing the music video. In
addition, I plan to learn how to
edit the sound effect and music.

For understanding horror films
better, I had researched the
background of horror and
watched some horror films to
find out their common points.
Then, I went on to analysis
them such as ‘WOMAN IN THE
BLACK’ ‘SLIENT HILL’. In term
of the planning, I wrote a lot of
sheets of planning as well as
the storyboard.
The research and planning
helped me to arrange time
reasonably so that I can avoid
to waste of time. When I was
shooting , I know what to do
next through the storyboard and
call sheets, it made the process
much smoother and easier.
In A2, I will continue with my
research and planning because
it help me a lots indeed. I will
also draw a storyboard for
music video and make some
call sheets. Otherwise, all the
things will start from initial idea.
Using conventions of real
media texts

- Did you take any
inspiration from the
conventions found from
your research?
Through analyzing some horror
films, I had paid attention in the
key mise-en-scenes and
iconography, because when I
did the research, there were
many information about some
typical props or iconography in
horror film.
I had analysed the ‘WOMAN IN
THE BLACK’, this horror film
gave me a deep impression
and it inspirit me a lots. So in
my horror, I focused on one
things and made it become my
theme.
In A2, I would like to choose
different conventions in mise-
en-scene and camera areas.
Creativity

I tried to make my horror
different so I added Chinese
elements in my film. In addition,
I would like to make the horror
less blood less murder , in this
situation, I presented the horror
